Within an hour Ian pulled up to a house. A man came walking out so Ian got out and he said,
"Stay here," to the rest of his family.
Then he proceeded to greet the man and after a few words the two hugged.
Then Ian turned around and waved to the rest of his family to come to him.
"Lets go," Emily said and got out.
The three made their way over to Ian. Doyle introduced his family and finally said, "And this is my baby brother, Killian."
Killian smiled at them and then handed Ian a key and said,
"You know where the guest house is."
Doyle thanked him and the little family walked behind the house to the smaller guest house.
It was like a hotel suite. There were two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom.
"Declan, do you mind helping me with something?" Ian asked. The boy nodded and followed his dad out leaving Emily alone with Sophia.
"Do you want to shower first?" Prentiss offered.
"Sure," Sophia said and made her way into the bathroom.
Emily walked into the kitchen to find all the cabinets stocked with food.
She put some soup on the stove and then heard Sophia yell for her.
Emily walked over to the bathroom and cracked the door.
"Can you get me my bag with my clothes please?" The child asked.
"Yeah," Emily said.
She brought he bag back and then when she heard the water turn off she poured some soup in a bowl and left it on the table for Sophia.
When Sophia walked out of the bathroom, Emily walked in.
"I put some soup on the table for you," Emily told her in passing.
"Thanks," the girl mumbled.
Once Prentiss was finished showering, she walked out to find Declan and Sophia eating soup.
"Where's Ian?" she asked.
"He said he had to talk to Killian," Declan said as he finished his soup. Then he headed into the bathroom to shower. Emily got herself a bowl of soup and joined Sophia. Right as she sat down, Sophia finished and got up, leaving Emily alone.
Prentiss sighed and ate her soup. Then Doyle walked in and said,
"I thought I smelled something cooking."
"Yeah there's more on the stove," Emily told him.
Once everyone showered and ate, Doyle had them all sit at the table to discuss what was going to happen. Finally, he said,
"Declan and I moved all of our stuff to the plane which we will be leaving in.
Our new house is in Belfast which is almost on the other side of Ireland. We'll leave in a few hours so you guys can rest for now."
When Doyle mentioned Belfast something clicked in Emily's head. Doyle felt with Richard Gerace in Belfast many years ago so she knew there was a reason he picked that location once again.
"Goodnight," he told them and smiled. Sophia and Declan each took a bedroom and Emily stayed out in the living room with Doyle.
"You know, we haven't gotten a chance to really talk," Doyle said to Emily before she could walk away.
"Listen Ian, I'm really tired-" she started to say but he cut her off.
"Emily," he said softly in a voice she hasn't heard in almost 15 years.
"What do you want to talk about?" she sighed and asked.
"What happened fifteen years ago? I never got an explanation. I think I deserve answers," he added.
"I was trying to protect her from you," she said back.
"She didn't need to be protected from me. If you knew me at all, you would know my kids comes first, always," he said to her and raised his voice.
"I wasn't supposed to get pregnant. Having a baby wasn't part of the plan. When I found out about her, everything changed," she explained.
"I just don't understand how you could keep my own child from me," Doyle told her.
"I thought it was best to keep her from you. You're a dangerous person. You wanted me to raise Declan so he could be just like you. I couldn't let that happen to my daughter," she said back.
"She's mine just as much as she is yours. In case you forgot, I made her too," he argued.
There was a moment of silence.
A big kitchen knife couldn't even cut the tension that was in the room.
"Ian, I know she's yours. Every time she smiles it's a constant reminder that she's yours!" Emily exclaimed.
"I'm just saying, it was wrong of you to keep her from me and lie about it," he pointed out angrily.
"I know you think I'm a terrible person, but Emily you have to know I can take care of my own. They're the only thing in the world that matter to me," he told her. She lowered her head and nodded.
"Thank you for taking care of her and keeping her safe for the past few weeks," Emily said sincerely.
"Thank you for not running off with her," Doyle retorted.
"I've thought about it, but I could never go through with it if I thought it would put her life in danger or even risk it," Prentiss admitted.
"Good. Because if you ever take my children away from me again, I will not hesitate to end you," he warned her.
"Why did you really bring me here, Ian?" Emily questioned.
"Why not keep the kids to yourself and raise your warriors without me getting in the way?" she added.
"It's not that simple," he told her.
"I turned you in. I took Declan away from you. I almost got you killed. So why are you helping me?" she wanted to know.
"Because I knew our daughter wouldn't forgive me if I let you die at the hands of my enemy. Like you said, finding out about Sophia changed everything," he stated.
"So," she started to say.
"Is your plan to make them your warriors? Are you going to teach them how to fight?" Emily asked seriously.
"Are you going to try and stop me?" Ian asked back in a cold manner.
"I'm just worried about them," she told him point blank.
"Whys that? They did a great job tonight," he pointed out.
"Sophia killed two men tonight and Declan killed one. They're just kids. Please tell me those were their first kills," she said.
"Declan's been living with me longer than Sophia has and he's had to protect himself before," he told her.
She sighed and shook her head.
"I don't get what you're so worried about. She was able to defend herself. You should be proud of her," he said.
"Ian, Sophia turned fourteen just a couple weeks ago. She's-" Emily started to say.
"She's not a typical 14 year old girl Emily, and she's know that. She's had to grow up faster than anyone else her age and she's doing a fine job. I don't see the problem," he pointed out.
"That's exactly it. You don't see a problem with our fourteen year old daughter shooting people!" She told him.
"You're making it sound like she had a choice. There was no choice. It was kill or be killed," Doyle told her and started to raise her voice.
"I'm just saying she shouldn't have to worry about that," Prentiss said back.
"She's still just a little girl," she added.
"That's where you're wrong. She's not just a little girl anymore. She should be worried about her safety. That's what's keeping her alive," he said seriously.
"Look at things from her perspective. She's focused on surviving and those survival instincts are what's going to save her life one day," he added and then got up. She stood up and asked,
"Even after everything you've been through, you still want that life for your children?" she questioned.
"The problems in my life didn't start until you arrived," he told her.
That silenced Prentiss immediately.
"You can sleep on the couch. I have to go talk to Killian. Make sure the kids are up and ready to go in three hours. Tell them they can sleep on the plane," he said and walked out.
