"It's over, Chrysalis."

"Surrender yourself before more of your troops perish!"

Chrysalis scowled at the idea, but she admitted and convinced herself that surrendering was the only logical option, but logistics were out of the question at the moment. Brushing Luna and Celestia back with her magic, Chrysalis fled from the action and abandoned her changelings.

"I will return one day to extract my revenge!" Chrysalis growled, disappearing in the night.

Luna and Celestia both sighed heavily, looking at the abandoned changeling soldiers. They offered those who wished to join them to come along for the journey. Not a lot joined them, and those that were left went in their own directions. Those that did join Luna and Celestia felt a kind of friendship love that they hadn't felt before, exchanging and giving back some of that same love, feeling their bodies morph into something that was similar to the friendship they felt.

Celestia smiled, looking around to some of the other changelings, "Incredible, they've transformed! The friendship they feel must be the reason for this."

"Nonetheless," Luna said, "we need to figure out what to do with this section of the realm now."

"What for?" Celestia wondered, looking back towards the hive, "Their home hasn't been touched by our troops. They can return to their home if they so choose to do so."

"Do you think it's wise to let them roam free, sister?" Luna asked.

"It's more wise than to force them all to assimilate to our customs," Celestia defended, "not everything needs to be forced to think in one particular way."

"Much like the series of the sunlight you give," Luna said under her breath.

Celestia raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me?"

Luna rolled her eyes, "Everypony continues to enjoy the precious sunlight you give, but not our night!"

Celestia sighed slightly, "Not this again, Luna."

Luna pressed on, "Everypony loves you, but nopony would even bat an eye for us."

"Luna," Celestia responded, "you can't still be on this sort of issue. You and I both know that that claim is just not true. A number of ponies sleep during my day and stay awake during your night."

"Enough is enough," Luna retorted, stomping her hoof angrily on the ground. She stared at Celestia and stood her ground in a defiant manner, "We have sat in the shadows of you for far too long, and it is time that we rise up and take control from you."

Celestia shuffled back a bit, worried about Luna's psyche, "Now, Luna, if you simply calm down, I'll be more than willing to help work things out with you. You simply have to control your emotions right-"

"Enough!" Luna snapped, flashing her eyes brightly at Celestia, "For too long has our night been shunned and looked down upon. We are going to show everypony just what a night like ours can truly do! Once we defeat you, our night will last forever!"

As if she were asserting her dominance, Luna used her magic to teleport herself elsewhere. The magic whiplashed around the area Luna stood in and brushed Celestia back even more. Looking down, Celestia sighed and shook her head slowly.

At least she didn't fall to the nightmare forces, Celestia thought, walking back with some changelings to Canterlot.

"I didn't see her again for seven months," Celestia sighed, "and at that point, we lost touch with the Elements of Harmony."

"What happened when you did see her?" Doppel asked.

"She attacked me with a few of her followers," Celestia answered, "and, thankfully, I was able to overcome the ambush. 'We're not giving up until we defeat you' was what she told me before escaping from my attempt to compromise with her. It was then that I decided that the only way I would get through to her was to beat her at her own game."

"But you couldn't do so," Twilight suggested.

"No," confirmed Celestia, "I couldn't, because I knew that if I did, then she would only revolt and rebel against me. Between the two of us, she was always the more rebellious and outgoing one, and I knew that she would simply continue to keep fighting me, no matter what."

"What happened to the Elements of Harmony then?" Twilight wondered.

Celestia looked down and shut her eyes, tears beginning to form in them, "Something tragic."

"Luna, please think about what you're doing!"

"We have, Celestia," Luna replied. She held each of the shards of the Elements of Harmony with her magic, "This will show you that we will stop at nothing to get what we desire most!"

"But what about the future generations?" Celestia protested, reaching out towards Luna slowly. "What will they do if they can't defend themselves from dangerous creatures and villains?"

"Ask them yourself, Celestia," Luna snarled. She flung the shards towards the ground hard and watched as they shattered to pieces, "Now you'll never be able to stop us."

"Nor you, Luna," Celestia cried, collapsing to the ground and looking at the broken Elements, "you've just doomed us all."

"Were it so easy," Luna laughed sinisterly. She then teleported away, leaving Celestia alone.

Celestia used her magic to bring the fragments and pieces to her, trying her hardest to undo what Luna had just done. However, because of the extent of magic that was used against the Elements, Celestia was unable to undo the damage.

Equestria is doomed, no matter what happens now, Celestia thought, her hopes seemingly dashed and the color in her mane slowly disappearing.

"When your parents had your brother and you fighting alongside one another," Celestia said, looking towards Twilight, "I found a glimmer of hope for the world. I knew that you could do something historic for Equestria, Twilight; you had that kind of vibe and mentality. When you rose through my ranks with ease, it all but confirmed my thoughts about you. When I finally gifted you with those wings, I knew I made the right decision."

"What do you mean, Princess?" Doppel wondered.

Celestia smiled a bit more, answering Doppel's question, "Watching and hearing about Twilight's accomplishments for the United Heliacal army, she reminded myself of a younger version of me. You were full of light, hope, and a sort of magic that just can't be explained."

"Do you think it'll be good enough to stop Nightmare Moon?" Twilight asked hopefully.

"Perhaps," Celestia responded, "but, like you said, we need to do it together as one unified kind. I've experienced the warmth of your kindness towards ponies of all kind and-"

"Does that include the warmth of the land regarding the disappearance of the windigos?" Doppel interrupted.

Celestia raised an eyebrow, impressed by the claim, "Is that so? Did you defeat the windigos?"

Twilight nodded, "W-We did, together. That's what Unity is all about, working through things together and as one."

"Then we might be able to do this then," Celestia nodded.

"We just have one thing we need help with right now," Twilight claimed.

"And what might that be?" Celestia wondered.

"Lunar is currently in a lot of pain and was left weak when he tried defending us from Nightmare Moon," Twilight stated. She looked down momentarily, "My healing magic isn't strong enough to fully heal him. Do you mind helping us out, Princess?"

"It'll be my honor, Twilight," Celestia smiled.

Doppel smirked with confidence, "Alright, now allow me to lead you to him." He reached out to the cell door and opened it up for Celestia, setting her free.
