They met on a planet that she didn't know the name of while he was traveling with the Guardians she had been kidnapped, again, and sold as a pet to one of the high priests of the planet. She was just becoming accustomed to the life as a pet when they showed up to take a job. Having been there for three years she was overjoyed to see new faces in the temple, even more so when she learned that one was human.

He, of course, had seen her before anyone else took notice. Her priestess powers calling out to him even before they climbed the steps. He had not been expecting anything from this planet and yet he soon found that he was unwilling to leave without her.

Naturally he soon found out that like most of their dealings things tend to go south when the natives seem less than pleased and Rocket is involved. They had left quickly, having to make the great escape, so he managed to get her on the ship before anyone but Groot took notice. However, that was short lived because as soon as they were out of range Groot all but sold his soul. There had been a few heated discussions, surprisingly, with her joining in before the team agreed to not leave her at the next stop.

Continuing on their travels he took the time to really get to know her and found himself in her company more often than not. Weather she was cooking or playing jokes on the team he was never to far behind, soon he found himself completely infatuated with her.

After five months she finally kissed him, he drew back after that, at least until Peter told him how stupid he was being. She took it in stride though and welcomed him back as soon as he came back up to her giving him a warm smile as he apologized. They grew even more inseparable after that.

He would go out of his way to do things just to make her smile and show her how much he loved her. After all, she was his priestess. His Kagome.
