The pack watched as jasper Cullen eliminated the last threat.
And standing in front of them was Taka Aki, alongside them, were their ancestors. Ephraim black, Levi Uley, and Quill Ateara the third.
The pack could only bow as they were surrounded by such a great presence.
"My children. My warriors. You have taken your job as protectors with diligence and we are nothing but proud. I commend you. But there will always be a threat. And you must always be ready, that is why we bless you with imprints. To ease the struggle between man and wolf. But we must ask you to become one with your wolf. If you are one being, there will no longer be an internal battle. Be strong young ones and when you need me, I will appear. I will give you a few moments with your grandfathers."
With that thought, taka aki touched his muzzle to every member of the pack. Breathing his power over them.
And when the pack opened their eyes he was gone. It was then that Ephraim black, Levi Uley, and Quill Ateara the third surrounded their great-great-grandsons.
"Samuel, Paul, and Jared. "Levi Uley addressed "As my descendants, I bless you with this gift of strength. The strength to move mountains. Because you were the first three to phase, you hold this pack together. And you set the tone. Your many sacrifices have been seen and I commend you. Remember you are not forgotten."
With that said, Levi touched noses with his descendants and disappeared.
"Quil the sixth, come forward." Quil Ateara the third called.
Quil whimpered and did as told.
"My grandson. The one of many. Your heart is so full of hurt and pain. I promise you, everything you have gone through will be worth it. you will be the greatest of all the aterea's and your name will be known. Your role in this pack is very important. Talk with the peacekeeper, she will guide you."
Just as Levi did, quil the third touched noses with his descendent and disappeared.
Last but not least was Ephraim black.
"Jacob…Embry…"
Embry eyes went huge as Ephraim called upon him.
"oh yes. Embry call. You are a direct descendent of the black line. I suggest you talk to your mother. Jacob, Embry direct descendants of the alpha and yet neither of you are properly ready to lead. you must purge out all the things that keep your heart hostage. I grant you the gift of insight. Seeing beneath the underneath. Once you have seen it…you will be ready."
And just like the rest before him, Ephraim disappeared.
"you have heard our ancestor's brothers. The battle is won." Sam spoke. He then turned to the Cullen's who seemed to be a world all their own.

"J-Jasper? What-What are you saying?" Alice asked in shock as she stepped away from him. She had just finished putting his arm back on.
"I'm saying…its time for me to leave Alice. If you want to come you can but I know you're happy here and I won't ruin that."
"leave! You can't leave! We are a Family!" Alice shrieked
"no Alice were not. While maria was wrong about a lot of things, she was very right about a few. We have been trying to live against our true nature. Now feeding off of animals is one thing but this…pretending to be human and live amongst them. It goes against who we are. the Romanian coven and maria sought us out to destroy us. She succeeding in killing the Denali's. The Cullen coven is too big, and it won't be long before the Volturi comes looking into us again. I for one will not be here when they do."
The Cullen coven looked on in shock.
"jasper please your just in a high emotional state form the battle." Carlisle pleaded
However, jasper shook his head.
"don't tell me how to feel Carlisle. you're just afraid that the coven you built will fall apart and maybe that's for the better. Alice …I'm leaving. The south where maria once resided will need help clearing out the chaos."
"you can't just leave your mate and family bro!" Emmet said angrily.
Jasper went to speak but Alice beat him to it.
"Were not mates. We never were. Jasper…. I…. I enjoyed my time with you."
Jasper's eyes softened as he felt Alice's emotions. They both knew that their separation was a long time coming.
"and I enjoyed my time with you as well Alice. Goodbye…darling."
He then turned to Kim who was still being restrained by Rosalie.
"young lady. I believe you could use some help…I'd like to offer my services?" he questioned the thirsty and mentally drained newborn.
Kim looked onto the blonde man's eyes, if her heart could beat, it surely would have as she looked at him. She was so thirsty, and she wanted this woman to let her go.
"yes…ill come with you."
Jasper motioned for Rosalie to let her go and with that they were gone.

Sam watched the drama unfold between the coven.
Carlisle then turned to him. his eyes filled with sadness and so many questions.
"Samuel …."
Sam phased, not caring about his nudity.
"This war is over. The two vampires that disappeared have been destroyed. There is nothing left for your coven here."
"What…destroyed how?" Carlisle asked
"as in my pack took care of them. Except for the little girl. We will giver her too you but you all must be gone by dawn."
Carlisle nodded. There was nothing else he could say. Suddenly, all heads turned when a heartbeat was heard coming near to the clearing.
Jared took one whiff and gave a low purr.
Sam knew that scent.
"Bella is here. She's bringing the young one."

Bella Took a breath as she appeared in the clearing. She was on ravens back while Layla went ahead of them. Raven knew not to trust the black-haired leech.
Immediately, the pack broke ranks and surrounded them. It was Sam however who motioned Carlisle to retrieve Layla.
"come young one…. we can offer you help…if you like?"
The girl didn't speak but she did shake her head yes. However, she stopped as she saw Edward.
She didn't know what it was but…something …was there.
"Samuel. Bella. Thank you. All of you. We will be gone by dawn."
Sam stared at the vampire doctor and then looked towards Bella, motioning her over.
The alpha and the peacekeeper looked upon each other for a short time. Sam gently kissing Bella's forehead.
"very well. it has been decided." Sam spoke to Carlisle. "The Treaty…will stay only for Emergency's and that is final."
With that said, the pack gathered together with Bella in the middle and walked towards the forest, leaving the Cullen's in despair.

Epilogue: 2 months later
I'm walking on sunshine ooh ooh! And don't it feel good! I'm walking-
Bella groaned and slapped her alarm off.
"oh, man…I don't want to get up. it's too early."
As if he heard her, her father knocked on the door.
"Bells! Up and at 'Em! We got to go!"
"I'm up dad. ill be ready in a minute."
"uh what's with all the racket!" Raven moaned as she rolled over next to her.
Bella grinned as the teenager pulled the covers back over her head. Even though she was a strong wolf, Raven still feared thunderstorms.
"Raven you're going to be there on time, right?" she questioned
"yes mom." Raven groaned
Bella smiled and went down to the breakfast table after she got dressed.
"Morning Bells you ready!" her father greeted brightly
Bella's eyes widened as she took in her father. She could only help but laugh.
"What's so funny?" her father asked even though he was laughing himself
"nice shorts dad."
Charlie looked down at himself and chuckled.
She had never seen her father in shorts. Especially short shorts.
"oh, whatever. Now eat up young lady we have a long day ahead."

Bella sweated as she fixed her number sticker.
"quit fidgeting bells." Her father chided.
"I'm just so nervous. Do you think Jared will come? He's already late and the race will start soon."
"relax baby girl. Jared will be here. The sooner he gets here and finishes this race with us the sooner you guys can move in together." Charlie said as he swallowed hard.
Bella looked up at her father as tears brimmed her eyes.
After the battle, Bella wanted to fulfill her father's wish of doing the marathon, but this time Jared would be joining them. and not only that, Jared had proposed.
Of course, she said yes and of course Charlie had given one stipulation.
Bella and Jared would live with him as they tied up loose ends, and once they finished the marathon, they could move in together. Besides Jared's family had moved away leaving Raven and Jared behind. It was a tight fit but it worked.
"oh, dad. you act like I'm moving to a different state. Ill be living on the rez, besides, don't act like I didn't see the realtor checking out the house. Did you finally pop the question to tiffany?"
Bella smiled as her father blushed a deep red.
After the battle things had not been so good between Embry and his mom. She had admitted to Billy being Embry's father, and had explained how Billy had no idea. When she found out she was pregnant, she had run away. it was only years later did she return to la push with Embry and whenever Billy inquired if he were the father, Tiffany would lie out of fear and shame.
But once the truth came out, Embry was so upset he moved out. He and Jacob had shared a bedroom for almost a month before Bella and her father intervened. The drama of course pushed Tiffany and her father together while sue and Billy had an on again off again romance. It was hectic. not only that but burying old quill after the battle had opened fresh wounds. Everyone was still healing.
Before she could question him any further, Bella felt Jared's hands graze her shoulders.
"you made it!" she cheered
"of course, I did babe!" he said a little breathless "sorry I'm a little late patrol ran a little long."
Bella gave Jared a hard look as her eyes shimmered their amber green hue.
"any incidents?"
The power in Bella's question had Jared craning his neck.
"no mam just nomads and no sign of the Volturi."
"not yet at least but they will come…I can feel it." Bella growled.
Relax Bella. we know they will come, and we will be ready. Just focus.
Bella felt herself relax as Sam's voice entered her mind.
She turned her head and saw his face amongst the crowd.
Nodding to him, Bella focused on the race.
"Alright you two, lets head to the starter line." Her father said as he guided them.
5 hours later
Bella made it to the finish line in twentieth place, Jared, and Charlie by her side.
And there at the end was the pack.
The first person to greet her was Jacob.
"congrats bells. I'm so proud of you!" he cheered as he scooped her up in a big hug.
Bella buried her face in Jacobs woodsy scent.
And one by one the pack took turns taking Bella into their arms. She was their peacekeeper. Their bridge to humanity. Their wisdom seeker.
"Bella! Bella!" a voice called.
Bella gasped and squealed at the person waving her down.
"LEAH! You're here!"
Leah laughed and pulled Bella into a hug.
Even though she had left the pack, the wolf still resided, and Leah could feel it. the day Leah called Bella crying about the dreams she was having was the day their friendship blossomed.
Bella pulled back and took her close friend and soon to be sister in law. She and Shane had gotten married two weeks after Leah left and now, they were expecting a little one. Something Leah never thought possible.
"oh, look at you lee, your glowing! Does sue know you're here yet?"
"Nope, not yet. I wanted to see my child's Aunt slash god mom first! Where's Jared?"
Hearing his name Jared appeared next to Leah and gave her a gentle hug.
"Hey big sis! man look at you! My nephew is growing!"
Leah smiled and rubbed her belly.
"I'm pretty sure it's a girl Jared."
"Yeah, whatever. I got bets going a mile long."
"well, I'll be sure to put mine in." a deep voice said
Jared turned and smiled as he embraced his older brother.
"Hey bro…"
"Jared…" Shane greeted as his eyes teared. "Jared I'm so- "
"don't… man…you didn't know. I'm just glad you're here."
With Shane being an imprint, he was told the tribal legends and knew everything. Including how Jared had his heartbroken and force to keep the wolf a secret form their family. it of course only gave Shane more fuel to reconnect with his younger brother.
Bella smiled as she watched the pack interact. Her father wrapped her in a gentle hug.
"you did it bells. "he whispered,
"you did it to dad."
"I'm proud of you…" he told her.
"Thanks, dad…I love you…"
"I love you more bells."
At that moment, Bella felt everything fall into place. The pack was at peace and the Cullen's were gone…for now. Jasper Cullen who is now known as Whitlock had been in constant contact with her. it actually helped to keep her up to tabs with what was going on in the vampire world. from his letters, he had informed her that he and Kim had stayed together and they started their own coven with some old friends of his. He never told her about the Cullens and Bella was grateful.
But with the rise in vampire sightings and the warnings in Bella's dreams, she knew their little bubble of peace wouldn't last long.
But it would be ok because this time they were ready.
And as Jared's eyes met Bella's both of them felt the tug of their mating bond. They were complete. Their marathon had been run and they had crossed the finished line.
