Day 49: Cosy
"Are you sure it's not too small?" James stared at the little cottage dubiously.
"It was your idea to live in Godric's Hollow," she reminded him, "It's the same size as all the houses around here."
"Sure, but that doesn't mean we couldn't build a bigger house," James pointed out.
Lily shook her head, "No. This one is absolutely perfect. Like something out of a fairy tale."
James still looked skeptical, "I'm not saying it isn't pretty, Lily, but it's just… small."
"Not all of us grew up in giant manors, James."
James frowned at her, "t's not about that, Lily. It's just the two of us now, but what about when we have kids?"
"We can always add on to it when that time comes," Lily turned to her husband with that little smile on her face that always made him melt, "Come on, James. At least look at the inside before you judge it."
"All right, all right," James conceded, leaning down to give her a swift kiss, "But I still have my doubts."
Lily merely grabbed his hand and tugged him toward the cottage, her eyes dancing with excitement. He could see she was already absolutely set on this house, and he doubted he would have the heart to tell her no, despite his own words.
Lily pulled out the key the sales agency had lent her so she could unlock and open the door, pulling James over the threshold.
He gazed around at the fully furnished sitting room they now stood in. It was small, but he had to admit there was something charming about it.
In fact, the more James gazed around the room, the more something just felt right about it. He could picture Lily curled up in that arm-chair by the fire-place, humming softly to a blanket wrapped bundle in her arms, he could almost see himself and Lily sitting on the couch, a little boy with wild, dark hair between them and a smaller girl with long, red locks snuggled in her father's lap.
"You're right, Lily," he wrapped an arm around his wife, a smile spreading over his face, "It's perfect."
