REWRITE: STAR WARS - EPISODE VII - THE DARK RESURGENCE

The present fanfic is a rewrite of the first film in the sequel trilogy. This is essentially the result of a writing exercise to rethink and fix a story that has several inconsistencies and is lacking in character development. Some characters and locations are preserved, others are abandoned. Key scenes in the film tend to be preserved as well.

33. Chapter 32

The escape pod with Han, Finn and Rey is seen in space, approaching the hangar bay underneath the Finalizer. A legion of stormtroopers stands in a defensive formation around the area where the pod eventually lands. Two troopers quickly make an opening on the pod with fusion cutters, revealing the Spymaster, the deserter and an unconscious Jedi. Captain Phasma steps out of the formation of stormtroopers to see the new prisoners; at her side is a stormtrooper sergeant with a white shoulder pad.

"Prepare the mobile holding cell in the cargo bay, and confine the Jedi there. Have it guarded at all times by two sith acolytes. As for the deserter and the spymaster, put them in the interrogation cell. I wish to question them… personally."

Finn gulps as he looks at Han, and before he looks back there is an announcement from the Hangar's speakers.

"All crew: Prepare to enter hyperspace. Destination: Starkiller base"

The Finalizer is then seen jumping out of the Takodana system.
