You Can Leave Your Hat On-Ch 37
Derek turned around and faced the back of the yard as the music started, he smiled as he watched first Emily and then JJ as they made their way up the aisle toward him. They looked so beautiful in their peach colored dresses and as they made it to their positions he felt his heart racing as he waited to see his bride.
After the girls were in their places, next came Jack Hotchner and he was carrying both wedding bands on a light blue pillow. He was so happy to be included in the ceremony and he took great pride in carrying the rings because he knew how important they were to Derek, Penelope and the ceremony.
When he got to the front he walked up and stood in front of his daddy and then as the music once again changed everybody that was sitting stood up and turned to watch as Dave and Penelope came into view. She blew out a deep breath and smiled lovingly at her soon-to-be husband as they started making their way up the rose petal path toward the front to join the others.
As they stopped Dave kissed Penelope on the cheek and said, "you look beautiful kitten", he then put her and in Dereks and said, "take care of her". Derek smiled at Penelope and then looked at Dave and said, "everyday from now on for the rest of our lives", he took a deep breath and said, "I love you", she winked at him and said, "and I love you", they then turned to face the minister.
He smiled and said, "dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in front of God and these witnesses to join together in the bonds of holy matrimony Derek Michael Morgan and Penelope Grace Garcia", Derek gently squeezed her hand and felt his heart racing faster as she returned the squeeze.
The minister said, "who gives this woman to this man in marriage"?, Dave stepped forward and said, "I do" and then he stepped back to stand beside Fran and the girls. Fran, Dave and the girls smiled as the minister said, "you may be seated, then it was time for the minister to turn his attention back to Derek and Penelope.
As the ceremony continued he said, "I understand that you have written your own vows"?, the smiling couple nodded their heads in agreement and said, "yes we have". He smiled down at Jack and asked for the rings, the little boy stepped forward and held up the pillow and watched as the minister took them and placed them on the bible and after a short prayer he looked at the marrying couple and readied to continue.
He looked at Derek and said, "Derek, take this ring and put it onto Penelopes finger and then recite your vows to her", he nodded his head and took the ring into his hand. He slid it onto her finger and then sighed happily as he looked into the beautiful eyes of the woman he couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with, his baby girl, his Penelope.
She felt her heart racing as he said, "Penelope, baby girl, ever since the first time I saw your beautiful face you have owned my heart and that is never going to change". He smiled at her and said, "you are the love of my life, the best thing that's ever happened to me and today you become my wife and soon we will welcome our son or daughter into the world".
Penelope felt tears streaming down her cheeks as he said, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, loving you and being loved by you". The minister then looked at Penelope and said, "Penelope take this ring and put it onto Dereks finger and the recite your vows to him, she nodded her head and took the ring into her hand.
She then looked at Derek and slid the ring onto his finger and said, "Derek, hotstuff, falling in love with you was the easiest thing I've ever done and it was also the smartest". Everybody chuckled a little and then she continued by saying, "every time I see you, hear your voice or just think about you I know that I am the luckiest woman in the world".
Derek smiled at her as she said, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, I can't wait to welcome our child into the world and I can't wait to be with you as our family grows because you are without a doubt my destined soulmate". Derek felt tears threatening to slid down his cheeks as she said, "'I love you more today than I did yesterday but not as much as I will love you tomorrow".
The minister then said, "if their is anyone here that can show just cause why these two can't be lawfully joined, let them speak now or forever hold their peace". After a few seconds he smiled and said, "well then. by the powers vested in me by this state I now pronounce you husband and wife".
Derek looked at Penelope and smiled as the minister said, "Derek you may kiss your bride", he then cupped her face in his hands and leaned in and pressed his lips against hers in a soft but passionate kiss. They pulled apart to the minister saying, "it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Derek Morgan".
The yard was then once again filled with the sounds of hands clapping and the shouts of congratulations as the happy couple shared another kiss.
