Back in Bartie's imagination...

The duo of boys headed over to the start of where the tracks leading into the mine were located at. As Bartie mentioned that the 'Wake Up' door was nowhere in the forest, it seems like the only remaining location that the group can actually search for it is inside the mine itself. However, considering that there's no sign of any lights down in the tunnel, so it seems like the two are going to walk into nothing more but complete darkness. Even Bartie's flashlight wouldn't last too long down in this mine, since they have no idea how big it truly is.

However, upon arriving at the beginning of the tracks, there appears to be a coal cart parked at the very beginning of the tracks. Seems like an easy thing for the two of them to use to get through this dark cave without worrying too much about what they are about to bump into. Bartie pulls out his flashlight as he hops into the coal cart that was parked there.

"Are you sure this is safe?" Miles asked. "This is the first time I have ever been inside a coal mine, and I'm not intending that my last days ever is inside one."

"Relax. I'm pretty sure that this is safe." Bartie said, as he was looking at a lever that was right nearby, keeping the cart in it's place. "Also, you've been riding in many of the KND's 2x4 Techology vehicles, something like this shouldn't be too big an issue for you."

"Yeah, well..." Miles rubs the back of his neck, before looking over to the lever that was right nearby. "...I'm a little...afraid of roller-coasters...you know me...I was scared to go on one back when me and you were in elementary school."

"Right...I remember. You were always so into the bumper cars a lot more than the other awesome rides there, and you ran out crying because you were too scared to..." Miles just stared at Bartie as if him mentioning that is an outright insane thing to bring up right now. "What? Why are you looking at me like that for?"

"Did you really need to bring that up right now?! Hoagie could be hearing this right now!"

"Just want to say, yes, I totally did." Hoagie's voice said from above, causing Bartie to look up surprised by the boy's voice speaking out of nowhere. "By the way, don't worry about it too much, Miles. We all been there. You should've seen Bartie when we all had to watch that one horror movie together..."

"Enough! I think this is a conversation that we should be talking about when we're out of my imagination, as well as when all of this insane shit is over and done!" Bartie shouts, not wanting to go any further with those embarrassing moments being mentioned. "Anyways, I believe that I have a plan that could get us through this cave, find this 'Wake Up' door within seconds. All we have to use is use two things. My flashlight, and that lever over there." Miles hops into the coal cart, sitting down.

"So...basically like a roller coaster anyway?" Miles asked him.

"Pretty much."

"But this is even scarier."

"Look, it's the only way. If there's no other place that the door is in, then the mine is the last place we haven't looked in yet."

Bartie picks up a nearby shovel that was leaning on the side of the coal cart. He picks it up, and uses that tool to reach across to the lever so that he could be able to get the track to release them already. He reaches out to the lever, making it go the opposite direction, allowing the coal cart to be free.

Now they were finally moving. The coal cart slowly made its way deep into the cave, giving Bartie enough time to pull out his flashlight, turning it on. Once his flashlight was on, he shines it forward, seeing that they were coming up to an edge. The cart was approaching it slowly, causing Miles to grip onto the sides of the coal cart in worry.

"We're so dead...we're so dead..." Miles said in a bear panic.

"Let's hope not..." Bartie said.

When the cart approached the edge of the track, it just stopped. The cart was no longer moving for them. Miles lets go of the sides of the cart, staring forward at the edge of the tracks, seeing that they have came to a complete halt.

"So...was this suppose to be part of the plan, Bartie? Because I don't think that is stopping here is what I consider..." Miles said, before the sound of the tracks beneath the cart began to break. "...Progress." Miles gulps.

The track immediately bends, getting the coal cart to finally roll off of it, going off onto the track below it. Miles screamed as he and his best friend fell completely into the darkness below.

After a bit of a fall later...

Miles and Bartie hit another track on a secondary platform below. The cart continued to roll down more tracks, as Bartie attempted to try to turn his flashlight on, as Miles tried to keep his hands on the side of the cart, trying to stay in. Thankfully, Bartie was able to get his flashlight on just in time.

Right ahead of them, Bartie and Miles could see that they were about to be turning towards another direction. The two boys held onto the cart, just as it began to go to the left. The cart accidentally had Miles flew near the right, almost having him fly out of the cart, but thankfully stayed inside as it did so. His head hits an incoming radio that was laying there on a random empty bin. Miles hits his head on the radio, causing the song 'Pump It' by the Black Eyed Peas to start playing, as well as landing inside the coal cart.

"Ow, damn it that hurts!" Miles shouts, rubbing the side of his head.

"Well, I feel like that's probably not the only close call that me and you are going to be facing..." Bartie said.

The two boys looked forward, seeing that they were now approaching an even larger area that was coming. The cart flew down some more tracks, going through a lot of directions. So many that Miles couldn't even count how many times that the coal cart has went a different direction. However, on the bright side, Bartie didn't seem to really need his flashlight for this room, since there were some lanterns, as well as some hanging light bulbs above, brightening up the room.

By the looks of the giant maze of tracks, there doesn't seem to be any sort of way to exit. That was until Miles saw a cave that has an 'Exit' sign above it. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to get over to this cave, as the track that was leading to it was hovering above where it actually should be.

"Now what?!" Miles shouts. "We're not going to be able to get across to that part of the cave!" Miles looks at Bartie. "You've been getting better at this 2x4 tech stuff! How do we get that track down for us to cross?!"

"There's got to be a switch somewhere in this room!" Bartie said.

Miles looks over to a pole that was out in the distance. One of the wooden poles that was holding up the tracks and the ones above had a couple wires leading over to the crane-ropes, holding the track. It seems like this is the switch that gets the track to lower itself down.

"There it is!" Miles shouts, pointing at it. "How are we going to get over to it?!" Bartie doesn't see any sort of platform that could get one of them over to it safely.

"It's too dangerous! I don't see a way up there!" Bartie shouts.

"Well, one of us has to get up to it!"

Suddenly, without warning, the cart hits another turn. This time, this turn causes Miles to fly out of the cart, having Bartie scream out his friend's name as this happened. Numbah 30 looks out of the coal cart, seeing if his best friend was alright.

Miles was hanging onto a sideways wooden pole, looking down at the deep abyss below him. His eyes widened in horror, before he stood up onto the wooden beam, almost losing his balance as he was frightened by the sight of this. The boy gulps, before looking up at the switch.

He leaps off of the beam, hopping onto the secondary beam above and across from the square gap ahead of him. Miles pulls himself onto the beam, before trying to make his way over to the lever once again. He runs across the plank, getting over to the pole across from him, getting onto the next on. This time, on the wooden pole across from him, the lever was there.

"This was like that camping trip all over again, when me and my dad use to climb that one boulder." Miles said. "Never knew that would've came in handy in my life, especially now."

Miles ran across the board to the other side, grabbing onto the lever. He flips the switch, getting the track to lower itself down, allowing their cart to cross to this exit. Bartie was left surprised.

"Didn't knew you had that in you, Miles!" Bartie shouts.

"Me and my dad use to go rock climbing when we go camping!" Miles shouts, looking down, before looking across from him. He see a rope that could allow him to swing him across to the exit. "These GKND members are making this too easy for me!"

Miles leaps over to the rope. He was then lowered by a beam breaking above him, sending him towards the track that was leading to the exit, and right on time too, because the cart was just approaching it too. He lets go of the rope, making him land inside the coal cart, just in time.

"Good timing there, man!" Bartie shouts, looking at Miles.

"Thanks." Miles said, trying to standing himself back up inside the coal cart. "That was way too risky."

"Tell me about it."

"Do you think that this is going to lead us to the actual 'Wake Up' door?" Miles said, looking forward. "I don't see anything ahead of us."

"Well, we're going to have to hope that this will lead us to it now." Bartie held onto the sides of the coal cart, as Miles sighed in relief, leaning on the back of the cart.
