Arthur and Merlin had rested for the night ready to join Morgana and Gwen in another fight for Camelot. Morgana and Gwen had fought them off until they got there and now it was their turn to keep the Saxons away.

Arthur woke up first. He was ready a lot earlier than Merlin was. Usually this was the other way around but today just seemed different. Gaius was still treating Uther, but Arthur knew his father would be better soon.

"Why are you awake?" Merlin said rubbing his eyes angrily.

"We have work to do." Arthur shrugged his shoulders.

"Yeah but does it have to be this early?!" Merlin gasped as he saw the light of the morning.

Arthur tutted as Merlin got to his feet. Gaius watched them from afar as he didn't want to get involved in an argument this morning.

"Right, let's save Camelot!" Arthur nodded as he headed towards the door again.

Merlin turned to Gaius for support but got none in return. Merlin sighed heavily as he realised he wasn't going to get out of this one easily.

Morgana and Gwen had barely slept that night. The guards had been stomping around on patrol and they had very heavy boots on! Gwen blinked her eyes open as the Saxons were talking quite close to them.

"Morning Gwen." Morgana smiled, trying to keep the mood as light as the morning sun.

"We're still here then?!" Gwen chuckled a little as she came to realise where she was again.

"Not for long." Morgana reassured her with a little nudge in her shoulder.

Gwen nearly fell over from feeling tired. Morgana wasn't feeling any better with herself nearly keeling over also. She looked around for even just a glimmer of hope.

"What's that over there?" Morgana asked quietly to Gwen.

"Where?"

Morgana looked at the Saxons and then gave a little point to where she had been looking. Gwen followed her finger and saw a glint of a sword. It couldn't be!

Arthur was looking into the square far away from Saxons eyes. Merlin was sat on the ground trying to keep up with Arthur from all the running they had just done.

"So, what do we do now?" Merlin asked even though he probably knew the answer.

"Somehow we get in there." Arthur pointed.

Arthur saw something else. He could see Gwen and Morgana looking in their direction. Arthur gave a little nod to tell them they wouldn't be long.

"We need to get in there." Arthur nodded towards Merlin.

"How?" Merlin asked.

Arthur looked at Merlin. Merlin shook his head as he realised what this look meant. This look didn't go away so Merlin knew he would have to go along with it. Merlin nodded and got up from the ground to help Arthur.

Arthur breathed in deeply and then stormed into the square. Not a good idea. The Saxons couldn't turn around quick enough and the two men were met with hundreds of Saxon soldiers.

"Oh dear." Merlin muttered as he and Arthur were taken prisoner and thrown down next to Morgana and Gwen.

"Great job!" Morgana hissed when Arthur and Merlin were sat next to him.

"We saved you didn't we?" Arthur still kept his nose in the air.

Morgana kissed her teeth. Arthur was annoying even when they were being held hostage! Gwen felt exactly the same but had to hold back after only being a servant.

Gaius was still down in the dungeons. He could tell Arthur and Merlin's plan hadn't gone well. He might be the last chance of saving Camelot and he had no idea how to do it.

"Gaius?" A weak voice came from behind him.

Gaius' nearly smiled from ear to ear realising who this was. Now Camelot could finally be saved.

Arthur was still brewing over an idea of how to get out of the mess they were in. Morgana was still annoyed with Arthur so did everything in her power to stop looking at him. Gwen was feeling a little bit scared of what could come next. Merlin was thinking of Gaius back down in the dungeon.

"So, that worked." The Saxon leader said to the group in front of him.

"Well at least we tried." Arthur sighed happily.

"Well you didn't try hard enough." The Saxon leader shrugged at Arthur.

Arthur wanted to stand up and punched the leader in the face but knew how many soldiers would be on him if he did. Merlin kept back using magic also against him.

"So, we need to get down to business." The leader said to his soldiers and the group.

The group looked at each other. Camelot was doomed if the Saxons took over. Arthur was going to do anything in his power to stop it but being held hostage wasn't going to help that.

"We have power over Camelot and there is no way you can stop us from doing what we want."

The Saxons cheered when he had said this. Morgana looked around at the soldiers all of them looked happy which was weird under a leader like that.

"What shall we do with these knights though?" The leader asked his soldiers.

The group looked to their right. Seven knights and three servants fell to the ground on their knees. Arthur wanted to get to them so bad but nothing he did was going to stop the Saxons!

"Don't you touch them!" Both Morgana and Arthur cried.

The leader looked to the two. He shrugged and got his sword to one of the knights throats. The knight flinched but otherwise didn't move a muscle.

"How the mighty knights of Camelot have fallen." The leader laughed.

He swung his sword over his head.

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" A loud booming voice came from one of the turrets.

The whole square jumped. Even the knights and the Saxon soldiers alike jumped, and they were supposed to be strong and brave.

"What on earth?" Merlin asked under his breath.

The whole square turned to face where the voice came from. Uther was standing there with Gaius beside him.

"My king." The leader fell to his knees.

Arthur and Morgana got up from the ground. Gwen and Merlin were close after.

"Leave my kingdom alone!" Uther shouted again.

And before you could say 'dragon lord' the Saxons ran out of the square and back to where they came from leaving a trail of destruction behind them.

Arthur and Merlin looked up to the top of the castle. Uther stood there firm and strong like he used to with Gaius looking down and smiling at them. They knew they were safe now.
