Dear diary week 32 July 21st through July 31st

July 21st dear diary aunt Helen came home from the hospital this afternoon she is non weight bearing for 4 weeks and then on crutches for 4 more. We made sure she was settled and I stayed there till grandma arrived to stay with them. When I got home dad had me come into the garage and he showed me how to use a screwdriver and pliers he said all women should be able to use tools. He also said that I will learn to use a drill and a few other tools so that I can fix things if they break. He and I started building a shelf for Elsie's room I managed to smash my thumb nail with the hammer oops. I went in and iced my thumb for a few minutes as it hurt when dad came in he looked at my thumb aAfter a bit the nail was really hurting so dad called Dr Lucy who came and used A hot thing that looked like a pin to drain the blood from under my nail. Which Clara and Emily have both had done and it didn't hurt she bandaged it and got a prescription for antibiotics sent in as it was pretty smashed and will ended up coming off.
He went and grabbed my antibiotics and some more bandaging supplies while he did this I had Elsie start the grill so she could make grilled shrimp for tacos along with grilled veggies. The younger 2 were working on a surprise for mom who doesn't know we are having a party to surprise her. The gang came over around 4 with there dishes for dinner we are having grilled shrimp and veggie tacos along with other Mexican dishes the others brought with them. When mom got home dad asked her o meet her in the yard when she got there everyone was out there waiting and boy was she surprised. This party is in honor of her shop becoming a chain which is an amazing honor. When the party was over dad walked Marie and Claire home with food for there mom and our grandma. When he got home he surprised us with triple cream shakes as a treat he also felt bad that I hurt my thumb. Signing off so I can relax and read for a bit I am wound up really bad.
July 22nd dear diary I took Elsie shopping for her birthday pool party supplies she has decided on a fun in the sun theme with a lot of cool ideas. We bought the decorations went and made sure dad had rented the pool he had so we grabbed the permit from the pool keeper. We then went and grabbed all the food we will need for the BBQ after the pool party part. She and I sketched her cake idea out so she could start baking right away. While she mixed up peanut butter pound cakes I started my favorite fruit salad kabobs with yogurt dip so we could use them as part of dinner tonight dad made grilled beer can chicken for supper. When we finished eating mom changed the bandage on my thumb ouch ouch ouch. But it was cute when mom was cleaning my thumb Clara told mom you be careful and don't hurt my sissy which I thought was cute. Mom said when she was little one of my cousins told grandma not to hurt her Lily when grandma had to take a giant sliver out of her foot. Mom just called up we are going to Zack's for a neighborhood meeting so I am signing off.
July 23rd dear diary today we spent time finishing prep for Elsie's party tomorrow I went and grabbed fabric from mom for table cloths and napkins. Elsie was working on carving stacking filling and decorating her cake. The little girls were hanging with dad in the garden doing some weeding. When they finished we all went to the diner for a late lunch wen we got home I hemmed the napkins and table cloth while the little girls worked in the yard some more. After a bit dad came running in and asked for a wet rag he had sliced his thumb with the tree pruner. After he cleaned it up he glued it shut so it was ok while that was happening Elsie was working on making fresh seafood rice for dinner. When mom got home we ate a quick dinner before leaving to pick up a surprise for Elsie. we arrived at a local pet store where Elsie was allowed to pick out 2 guinea pigs nutmeg and cinnamon . They are her late birthday present and she is in love with them. I will talk to you tomorrow I am going to help Elsie set up the guinea pig habitat.
July 24th dear diary we spent the day at Elsie's birthday pool party it was a blast I hung out on the side since I am sposed to keep my hand dry for a couple more days. I acted as the music lady picking songs for the party. When they finished swimming we walked back to the house and had grilled chicken shrimp and veggies. After dinner we had cake and ice cream before she opened gifts. Luke gave her a charm bracelet and asked her if they could be a bit more then friends they will one day be a couple I bet. She also got a diary and a few other cool gifts including a bunch of stuff for her guinea pig habitat . After the party the girls in her group stayed for a sleepover. Going to sign off mom needs my help with the sleepover crew talk to you tomorrow.
July 25th dear diary we spent today helping out dad with yard work we planted a few hedges and 3 small trees. I took a time out to make sun tea so it was ready for tea time tonight as its a treat we really really like. When that was done dad carried Clara in she had a splinter in her foot. I took it out and gave her a band aid which she loved when we were done dad cleaned my thumb and my nail had fallen off yuck. When that was finished we went back out and finished our work and then relaxed. When mom got home we had dinner and then decided to take a family walk. We walked to pick up Marie and Claire so they could get out for a little while we all walked to the ice cream shop for cones before heading to the playground. When we got home we all relaxed with sweet sun tea yummy yummy. I am going to go read a book and listen to a special on Ann Frank.
July 26th dear diary we went to the lake again today it was so much fun and I caught 3 catfish. When we got home dad took care of the fish while I gave Emily a shower she had fallen in a huge mud puddle. When that was done we went and played soccer in Zack's yard she loves sports. Zack's brother Ryan and Clara where near bye playing on the swings and talking. They are so sweet together. When we finished I took them in where Elsie was making chicken curry for dinner. I grabbed an ice pack for Emily to use on her wrist she fell on it during our game trying to stop a goal. She didn't like it one little bit I don't blame her those kinds of things really really hurt. After dinner she was still crying so mom took her to the urgent care where Dr Lucy's orthopedist friend works and he took an X-ray he told us its only a slight sprain so she is wrapped and in a sling for 1 week.
July 27th dear diary we spent today doing shopping for Elsie and I we are leaving in 4 days for camp north star in Maine. We met the gang at the mall we started at the Disney store for Towels wash rags and new blankets and sheets. I also had Elsie grab the dress she wanted using a gift card from our grandma. We then went to a clothing store for shorts tops Capri pants and unmentionables. From there we went and picked up water shoes shower shoes and a few other items including 1 piece swimsuits as that is what they asked for. We had a quick lunch before heading to the drug store for travel size toiletries bandannas stamps paper envelopes and things like that. We also ran to the eyeglass place to pick up our prescription sunglasses and swim goggles. From there we went and found water bottles and a few other things including items for the plane ride.
When we got home dad helped me bring in all our bags and showed us the trunks he had bought. We started packing them with is help he read off items and we packed them he helped us figure out what we still needed so he can order it. When mom got home she and I ran to Marie's so we could plan great grandmas 100th birthday party which is 3 days after we get back from camp. We then met the others at the dress shop for final dress fittings we also went and mom showed us how to fit hiking boots which need to be slightly tighter then other shoes. We stopped at a favorite sushi place for dinner before heading on one final errand to get my guitar and Elsie's fiddle as this camp has music water sports drama sewing and more.
When we got home we finished packing so we won't need to worry about it mom brought us a few things we will need for the flight like candy coated sunflower seeds books and things safe for me to snack on. When that was done mom made smoothies for a special treat and then we all decided to sleep on the porch tonight. Signing off mom needs help bringing out the air mattresses.
July 28th dear diary today we spent the day at the pool with the gang at the pool where everyone but Emily and Oliver swam. He has an elbow injury so like Emily is in a sling and wrap for the week. After we finished in the pool we went to Kai and Kya's for a BBQ dinner for there cousin who got home from the Army. When we finished eating there we went to have ice cream at a local shop for free ice cream day. When we finally got home mom had Elsie and I try on the dresses we bought for banquet night at camp so she can take mine in at the shoulders and hem it and hem Elsie's. We also made sure we had a few extra items ready I still need a stuffy to sleep but you know what it doesn't matter. Elsie grabbed her backup Eeyore blankie she has had one since she came home from China. We put these items in our trunks along with Pajamas that got mailed in this evening. We are officially ready for this exciting camp experience it should be amazing. We leave the day after tomorrow yay yay yay oops mom just said its lights out so need to sign off.
July 29th dear diary we had a busy day finishing getting ready for tomorrow we packed our backpacks with books snacks and things for the flight we fly in 2 days early and dad and his brother will drive us 2 camp. We also spent time on birthday prep for great grandmas party Elsie drew up design ideas for the cake while I decided on the pattern for her quilt and started writing her a story. After this we went to Marie's for dinner so we could show grandma our ideas she loved all of it. When we were done eating mom took all of us for hair trims and to even mine out a little bit. When we finished there mom helped Marie and Claire find boots and other items they needed help with. We then went and grabbed there trunks so they can stay with us since dads flying out with us and helping his brother work on his houseboat. We will be gone for 3 weeks and are very excited. Mom just called for lights out since we are going to be busy the next 2 days.
July 30th dear diary we left early this afternoon for Maine and it was an ok flight but it was bumpy we arrived late this evening and met dads brother my uncle Chris who took us out to dinner at a seafood place where dad remembered to make sure I could eat there. We figured out that it was very allergy friendly and even had a veggie plate for Angelica who doesn't eat any animal products. When we finished eating we went to the hotel we are staying in for the next 2 days. We went and had a swim in the pool before getting settled in for bed as we will be very very very busy with camp in the next 3 weeks. Signing off dad just brought up ice cream as a treat.
July 31st dear diary we spent today relaxing at the hotel as starting tomorrow we will be busy. We spent the whole day swimming at the hotel pool and just having a fun quiet day. We also went and played at a small arcade near the hotel. When dad and uncle Chris were done for the day we went to the same place we ate last night for another very yummy meal. When we were done he took us to meet great Aunt Ann who made us blueberry cheesecake for dessert so yummy. When we got back we decided to settle in and watch movies and just rest so we are ready for the camp fun. Signing off so I can sleep and be up early tomorrow morning we need to be at camp by 12
