Molly nearly growled with frustration. She'd managed to scrape up the grades, graduate from Hogwarts, and now was back for her five year reunion. Her grandmother, her namesake, had been so proud of her. Now, Molly felt like there was really nothing to be proud of. Nimbus was seeker for Puddlemere United. Fawna had moved up in the ministry and working for the Minister herself. Molly had managed to accomplish what felt like nothing so far. All she'd done was find several old hidden books, translate them into something that made sense, and left in the middle of a project involving a very interesting diary to come here and listen to everyone else brag.
"What about you, Mols? Find the right someone yet?" Hugo Snape asked. Molly glared at him. She'd turned him down five times in school, three after that, and still had no interest in dating him. They had nothing in common and besides, she was fairly certain Hugo was only pursuing her to deny his own feelings about a certain blond wizard cousin of hers.
"What does it matter?" she asked.
"Well, I was thinking, maybe if your not with someone, then you might want to give me another chance?" Hugo asked, giving her a crooked smile. Molly muttered something under her breath, part of the words she'd been translating. She had a habit of doing things like that, thinking without even thinking about it. She was about to tell Hugo where he could go, somewhere dark and maybe fiery, when the door swung open. Molly turned and her mouth fell open. Standing in the doorway as the most handsome wizard she'd ever seen.
"Ahh, Miss Molly, I'd wondered where you'd gotten to," he said, crossing the room. He moved so gracefully, Molly wondered if his feet even touched the ground. He looked at Hugo, at the expression on Molly's face.
"Good evening, I'm Salazar, are you harassing my date?" he asked. Molly blinked. This man was her date? Where had he even come from? The words she muttered sprang to mind. They must have completed the spell she'd been using.
"I-" Hugo started to explain, his face as red as Molly's crimson hair. Molly smiled at Salazar. He took her arm.
"I'm fine," Molly stated, leading Salazar to the dance floor, away from anyone that might be listening. "How did you get here? Who are you?"
"Salazar Slytherin. I believe you summoned me, Miss Molly, while you were working on the project of yours? The diary?"
"But how? It's not your diary, or even related to you as far as I know?"
"The incantation you were working on, where did you find it?"
"A old library, under the school," Molly answered. Salazar smiled.
"One of my many spell books then. You have managed to return me to living Miss Molly and I have saved your honor with that miscreant. We do make an interesting pair."
"Very, and I'm very interested in your spell books, since I only have one of them."
"Wonderful, now I hear music, do you care to dance, Miss Molly?"
"I would love to, Salazar," she answered, letting him take her in his arms and sweep her across the floor.
