Jaypaw kicked dirt over the prey bones of his breakfast, turning around to head back to the large dark brown tabby tom who was chatting back and forth with Goldenpaw. The she-cat was watching him through half open eyes, with her chin resting on her paw. The she-cat then turned and went do something else when Jaypaw arrived. Pinepaw turned and flicked his tail with a smile. "So, what do you have to do today?"

Jaypaw flopped his hindquarters down. "Hunting again, Leaf-bare is approaching after all." He grumbled under his breath.

Pinepaw nodded slowly before turning his head. "I got camp duties to do today, good luck though!"

Jaypaw flicked an ear, slumping his head over his shoulders. "I don't get why it's always me though, after all I am not that bad."

Pinepaw raised an eyebrow, as he let out a chuckle. "I don't know, there have been plenty of times the prey outran you."

Jaypaw shoved the tom and got up onto his paws. "I guess I should get going, see you all later." He meowed, flashing Goldenpaw a smile as the she-cat just ignored him.

Ravenfeather was sitting waiting for him; the black tom had his tail wrapped around his paws. His blue eyes fixated and gave a nod, as Jaypaw left through the camp entrance.

Jaypaw wriggled his haunches as he pressed backwards, his eyes narrowed and into slits as he crept forward. Lunging forward at the rabbit that scampered as soon as he broke free, Jaypaw gave chase through the grass and across the moors. Before it ducked into a tunnel that Jaypaw attempted to continue in, getting stuck and forcing him to back off.

"That was the worst hunt I have ever seen."

Jaypaw whipped around his head, he was back at the crushed trail of grass. With the same ginger and white she-cat lying across the tree branch on the other side, her white leg hanging down and grazing the tips of the bush.

Jaypaw rolled his eyes as he pressed forward, the ginger she-cat dropping down to mirror his walk. "Giving up already, isn't it important for the clans to feed the hungry first?"

"We hunt and bring prey to our weakest, which is the duty of every cat." Jaypaw answered.

The she-cat looked him over. "You don't seem to be doing as well either."

"Do you ever keep your thoughts inside your head?"

"Only when it matters, perhaps you could use some lessons?"

Jaypaw flicked an ear, keeping himself from looking over at her. "I do not need help."

The she-cat smirked. "I think that rabbit would disagree." She meowed, flicking her tail as she scaled up the next tree.

"That was a singular failure, I'm far better at catching rabbit and all other kinds of prey." Jaypaw meowed, his brow furrowing as the she-cat continued to follow him.

"Okay, show me then… there is a mouse right there." The she-cat meowed as she sat down on the branch.

Jaypaw noticed it as well, dropping down into a crouch and crept through towards the small critter. He could feel the she-cat's gaze burning into his pelt each step of the way.

Nearing his prey he pushed back, and sprung forward onto his target. Snapping its neck and letting it dangle in his jaws as he glared back at the ginger she-cat.

The she-cat merely shrugged from her perch. "Alright, so you can hunt for yourself… still missed that rabbit though."

Jaypaw rolled his eyes, but he sat down leaning down to touch his nose to its pelt. He could still feel the she-cat's gaze burning into his pelt, he fluffed it out before swiftly whipping around his head. "Are you…!" he snapped, but he watched as the tail tip of the she-cat dropped out of sight; back deeper into the forest.

Jaypaw flicked his tail before he set back off into his own territory, grumbling under his breath as he covered the mouse to be picked up later.

Jaypaw dropped the rabbit down on the ground, before he searched the ground where he buried the mouse. but it was gone, with the only trace of it was a trail of blood leading over the border.

Jaypaw cuffed the ground, cursing the she-cat under his breath; as he picked back up the rest of the prey to storm back towards his mentor. Where Ravenfeather looked over what Jaypaw brought. "That's it?"

"Some rogue dragged it over the border, I didn't catch them sadly."

Ravenfeather furrowed his brow as he raised his gaze. "Those rogues are getting more and more ferocious, we better let Shadowstar know before things get out of hand." He meowed, before turning and leaving the clearing.

Jaypaw glanced back over at the border, before following his mentor.
