It's been a week since the Crystal Gems arrived on Coruscant as the new allies of the Republic. They did get much attention and at first they were met with confusion which then turned into distrust after hearing that they belonged to the same species which waged a massive war against the galaxy in the High Republic Era and even rumors began to spread that they returned to continue their conquest just like the Seperatist and that the corrupt senators and jedi were helping them.
Thankfully Anakin's idea actually pan out as the beloved chancellor's voice to the people, combined with the approval of the two famous war heroes managed to somewhat lessen the distrust around the gems. Not entirely but enough to be accepted as accomplaces on the front lines...But Anakin was certain that eventually they will warm up to Rose and the others. Their acts on the battlefield will prove the point.
For example, right now a battle between CIS and Republic forces errupted on the planet of Horain located in the Cantori system. Anakin had been sent there with his padawan Ahsoka, Rose and her comrade Pearl to help Obi-wan while the other gems stayed in the Jedi temple in case of emergency before they have their own missions.
This was their first step for the Gem image to rise in the eyes of civilians. Plus the young jedi wanted to see what they can do in a fight, as their ships were now approaching the nearby Republic base which the droids try to take down.
Ahsoka: I hope Rex is okay
Anakin: Don't worry Obi-wan was sent to his location and two of them will be more than enough to get out of there.
Rose and Pearl thought in confusion "Master Skywalker may I ask why you do care so much about one clone? Can't the republic just create more of them? Why risk like that?"
Anakin stopped as did Ahsoka and Rose and then clones nearby who heard this couldn't let that slide "Uhm Commander Pearl I mean no disrespect towards you but Rex is our captain, comrade and brother, and just because we are all clones doesn't mean that we don't deserve living".
Rose and Pearl were surprised at the humility the clone shown, let alone voice their opinions to their commanders without any hesitation. Pearl didn't know what to say and quickly corrects herself "Ouh I understand" as she then ooked away in shame 'Of course I said it. I should've known better with my experiences yet I do same mistakes again'.
None of them said a word.
Then they all went to their designed locations to stop the Droid move on the base.
The seperatist droid army was exceptionally good at two things: That was killing and and unquestionably taking orders. Captan Rex had a lot of experience in that department as he was single-handedly fending off thepersistent scores of droids as they marched towards his position. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to last much longer alone, he called in for his general Anakin Skywalker to help but no one was replying. And just as he lost hope, Obi wan kenobi jumped into battle defending Rex from Droidikas.
Honestly Rex was shocked as he expected Anakin but rather he instead got an update.
Rex: General Kenobi?
Obi-wan: I'm afraid Anakin's having a few problems with some vulture droids. So you'll jst have to make do with me.
Rex: It's an honor to serve with you again, Sir.
Now both of them were in the trenches of war surrounded everywhere and swormed by battle droids but once droidekas came down both of them were in big trouble.
Rex saw then immediately recognized that the were goig for general kenobi while his back was turned and so Rex did the only thing he could at that moment. He jumped in front of the blaster bolts, ready to save his Jedi General.
Rex: AAAA!
Obi-Wan: Rex!
Jedi master stood up and force pushed the droideka into droids, giving them time for Rex to stand.
Then Pearl came in suddenly on the battle field.
Pearl: Do you require assistance~.
Obi-wan: Pearl you are just in time. Are you alright Rex?
Rex: *grunts* Nothing a bacta tank can't handle sir.
Pearl was impressed at his determination despite his obvious injury. "It would seem that you are a very battle hardened Captain.
Rex: I'm not a type of soldier to back down so easily.
Pearl understood and three of them were able to hold off the advancing droid army ontheir own for quite some time.
Obi-wan: Yor swrd skills are very impressive.
Pearl: Well yours is not superior but its' not inferior as well.
As the fight raged on, Obi wan deflected a blaster bolt which then hit a B1 battle droid in the head, damaging its' circuits.
B1-0516:Wha *bzzt* what's goin on here? Why are all the droids attacking you?
This damage awakened this very battle droid, making it flly aware of it's own self and it's surroundings giving what Rex called a conscience, which was the first time he seen this for all his career.
Rex : "Why? You should know you dumb clanker!"
Deciding that it was fighting fo a wrong side, the battle droid turned on it's former allies and fired on the new foes. The same can't be said for other droids who were not programmed to fire on their own and therefore the defective battledroid shot down scores of droids all alone on it's own, eventually ith duel-wielding blasters to eliminate them quicker.
Pearl: What is happening to it? Wh does it help us?
Obi-wan : It appears that the blast must have short-circuted its processor.
Rex: Wow first swrod wizards, then alien rocks and now a battle droid with a conscience? Now I've seen everything.
The battle continued as more droids came in.
Kenobi: So my frazzled friend - you're ready to switch sides?
B1-0516: You bet! Battle Droid B1-0516 ready at service.
Rex: A bit mouthful even for a droid. So how about we call you Bats?
Bats: Sounds good to me!
Pearl: Alright battle droid can you help us. I have an option.
When the current droids were destroyed, a plan was made for Pearl, Kenobi and Rex pretend to be Bats' prisoners.
Bats: The enemy has surrendered. They are my prisoners.
Droid: Good work soldier. Asd for them, they will be taken to Count Dooku immediately.
This allowed them to get close to another droid squad without getting shot. The three were safe, Bats went on a killing spree against the other droids yet again. The two man managed to get away from the battle but then saw that Bats was captured and sent to the tactical droid.
While they were at first reluctant to risk for a random droid, they decided that their new friend needs help.
Pearl hesitated but then remembered what that clone said to her and wasn't about to repeat that again.
Upon finding out about B1-0526's malfunction the Separatist Tactical droid ordered his forces to capture the faulty B1 and bring him back to the Separatist base for interrogation.
Once there, the tactical droid concluded that it malfunctioned.
Droid: Should we destroy it?
Tactic droid: No it can bebrought back to service. A complete memory wipe should eradicate your problem B1-0516.
Bats: *falls on his knees* You can't do this to me. No...It isn't right
Bats went berserk and started to destroythe droids in the compound. "And that's not even my true name. Don't forget that I'm called Bats!"
Tactic droid: This is hopeless. Blow its head from its shoulders.
Bats: You will try.
But before the other droids could take down Bats, a seperatist tank ambushed the compound and inside were Kenobi, Rex and Pearl. Together the gem, the jedi and the clone destroyed the enemy droids(with Pearl cutting down the tactical droid) and rescued Bats .
Aftewards the four of them drove the tank ack to Republic base. "General Skwalker! We are coming at your location".

Anakin: Right!
Anakin was ready igniting his lightsaber in case some droids are on their tail
Clone: General Skywalker -AAT coming in fast!
Which proved to be the correct move until Obi-wan appeared ot of it.
Anakin: Stand down! It'sgeneral Kenobi...and he's bringing a ne friend?
Rose immediately arrived on the scene "What's wrong? Are the droids attacking?
Anakin: No it's uh fine. This one is now one of us right Obi-wan?
Obi-wan: Anakin, Rose, and Clones meet Bats. You never know when an under cover battle droid will come in handy.
Rose became astonished 'A mechanism having an individuality of it's own?'
Rose: What a fascinating discovery! A simple robot having it's feelings!
Bats: Wow thanks! You all are not as bad as I was programmed to think.
Rex: Trust me Bats. You'll see many crazy things in your time here from now on.
Pearl: That is an understatement.
And with that, the team went on thir ships and flew off to the Coruscant to present their yet another ally.
