After the last verse leaves her lips, IA releases a breath from the depth of her diaphragm and breathes through her tiny nostrils. Yukari's eyes are alight, while she's finishing up the last line of the tune. IA notices that the Yukari that immerses herself in her music is more childlike and innocent, far different from the spiteful person that showed her fangs, from before.
Like their city's distant fairy tales around half-moon transformations, and the formalities of the bequeathed tradition, Yukari is metamorphosed into a new person, her chrysalis is shed. Though, whichever of the two or three dualities within her, are truly indicative of the light that lay on either side of the moon's surface... is a mystery to anyone involved. Her core self isn't evident through this experience alone. And thus, there isn't enough of her that she is willing to unveil, her hangetsu transfiguration is harangued by the sweetest solemnity.
Who is Yukari Yuzuki, really? IA asks herself and finds the subject of her thoughts... staring into her with a cat-like gaze.
"O-Oh!" IA stumbles, her awareness opening with frail petals, "H-Hey there, I kind of zoned out, so I didn't notice that we were done!"
"I think it's a sign. I suppose, that you and I should get a little bit of shut-eye," Yukari says with a small smile, "but, I must say—your voice sounds more magnificent in person, than from a video-recording."
"T-Thank you!" IA says in reply, with a small bow, "Well then... uh, where will I be sleeping?"
"I only have one bed," Yukari groans apathetically, seeming either tired or annoyed by the question, "but, I can set up a futon on the floor."
"Is that really okay?" IA asks again.
"Yes!" Yukari growls, but her amethyst eyes still remain expressionless, "And, if you don't hurry to bed, I'm going to tempted to completely ravish you!"
IA does a double take and replies with, "You're going to do what to me?!"
"Just fuckin' go!" Yukari yells after a sharp inhale, "Ya hear?"
"A-Alright," IA concedes, still feeling a few unwieldy shivers, disperse like legions of termites down her spine!
The bedroom next to them is small, some would say quaint, but to IA it looks like a prison cell. The sheets are the color of dirty dishwater and the pillow looks as stale as aged bread. IA slinks over to the twin-sized bed-frame and slowly, and carefully sits on the mattress. The springs shriek and the piercing noise hurts the sensitive girl's ears, IA thinks to herself, This room is where Yukari sleeps every night? She can afford all of those weapons and instruments, not to mention the high-tech security, and yet... and yet she chooses to sleep on something so meager?
IA hears the drop of Yukari's aforementioned futon and she peaks around the doorway and sees Yukari laying on a slipshod sack, that would normally never constitute as a functional futon or even a comforter! The lavender-haired, rock 'n roll demon has her head turned away from the bedroom door and she's using her right arm as a pillow. The Lunarian of an android's other arm is cradling the other side of her skull, and she's fastened herself into a strange position, like how someone would regularly buckle themselves into a rollercoaster.
Feeling timorousness and a suffocating guilt, IA tip-toes over to the frail figure and covers her figure with the thin blanket on the bed. Yukari doesn't stir, but there isn't a sound or a snore, so IA is unsure if her companion has even fallen asleep and she's too afraid to look at her sidelong countenance to check! IA lays on the stone-cold bed, bereft of any covering, and cradles herself to sleep, in this unfamiliar hermitage.
At daybreak, the flaxen-haired ingénue is startled awake by Yukari's contralto singing-voice, the hooded VOICEROID is monotonously crooning—
