I don't own any of these characters.

The ride to the hospital could be described by Ferb as one word: grueling. He knelt by Vanessa's side, cringing every time the lady would scream or cry in pain. Ferb was at least close enough to hold her hand, but far enough to give the paramedics some space to treat her. Ferb, having a phobia of needles, almost puked in his mouth at the sight of one of the paramedics pulling out a needle and inject a certain liquid inside Vanessa's shoulder, which stopped her shaking that started the moment the ambulance started moving.

Ferb was on the verge of tears, as much as he wanted to become a father, seeing Vanessa in pain was excruciatingly difficult to witness. Vanessa wasn't looking too good. Despite her being conscious, her eyes were still closed and her breathing was so inaudible.

The ride to the hospital took a mere 10 minutes, but to Ferb, it felt like years. He knew by now, Phineas would have contacted his parents, as well as Vanessa's father and soon they would meet him at the hospital. When they finally reached the hospital, the back doors of the ambulance popped open and the paramedics lifted the stretcher out and into the building. Ferb followed close behind. The nurse at the reception desk saw them and hurried to open the door to let them through. When she saw Ferb, she stopped him.

"I am terribly sorry, sir. But you can't come in while they are operating."

"Operating?" Ferb said in shock.

"The baby is coming right now, and we need to operate soon to save it and your fiancee."

Ferb watched in despair as the doors closed. Unable to take it in anymore, he allowed himself to break down and cry.

Five hours. That's how long Ferb waited. Five grueling hours.

Phineas and Isabella met up with Ferb at the hospital and did their best efforts calming him down while they were all in the waiting room. Ferb was unable to talk at that moment, which would normally be usual for a quiet person like him, but this situation gave him another reason to not speak. The nurses couldn't tell him anything unless the procedure was done.

Phineas tried to be optimistic, telling Ferb the outcome if Vanessa pulls through. Not only would she be okay and Ferb would be able to hold her again, but Ferb will become a father to a beautiful baby boy.

Ferb smiled at his brother, then a dreaded thought hit Ferb. What if Vanessa doesn't make it? If she does, then would the baby make it as well?

Eventually, Ferb began pacing around the room in anxiety. He would walk back and forth across the room dozens of times, sit down for a few seconds, and stand back up, and began pacing again.

Ferb couldn't easily explain how he felt, but that wasn't a problem for Phineas. Growing up with Ferb, Phineas developed the power to sense what Ferb was feeling by just looking at his stepbrother's blank expression. Now, Phineas could tell that Ferb was at his breaking point.

What if she doesn't make it? Ferb thought. With the amount of agony, Vanessa would be most likely going through at that moment, and with all the work the doctors were doing, someone was bound to make it. The question was:

Who do you want it to be?

The thought exploded in Ferb's mind like a bomb. If he had to choose, would he tell the doctors and nurses to save Vanessa if it meant losing his baby, or would he choose to become a father if it meant never seeing Vanessa again? These thoughts almost made Ferb break down, but he knew it would solve nothing and that it would further cause distress for both his brother and his best friend. He just sat in a chair between the couple as they continued to comfort the green-haired brit.

Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, a single doctor walked into the waiting room with a smile etched on her face. Ferb took that as a sign that Vanessa was alright and shot up and sped towards the doctor.

"Doctor is Vanessa..."

The doctor nodded. "Your fiancee is going to be alright, Mr. Fletcher."

Words could not describe the relief Ferb felt. It was as if he had been carrying the world's heaviest rock on his back and it slid off so smoothly.

"There's more." The doctor continued.

"What?"

"Would you like to meet your son for the first time?"

Ferb's breathing hitched. Phineas and Isabella looked at each other in excitement. Ferb's...a father? Tears began to form in Ferb's eyes. The doctor walked back into the room, motioning Ferb to follow. Ferb obliged, feeling so many emotions, all of which were overwhelmingly positive: relief, joy, happiness, gratitude. These emotions, plus more, bounced over his head until the doctor stopped in front of a room.

Ferb took a deep breath and stepped inside. The room was dim-lit and there was a single window at the far side of the room, with the shutters closed. And then there was a bed on the right side of the room with two smaller cots, and laying on the bed was no other than Vanessa herself, looking rather tired but happy as she was holding was appears to be...Ferb's newborn baby in her weak arms.

Vanessa looked up at Ferb and smiled with teary eyes. Ferb approached Vanessa and kneeled next to her.

"Ferb, look at him." She said. Ferb took one glance at the sleepy baby's face and felt his heart completely melt. The baby's eyes fluttered revealing the most gorgeous blue eyes Ferb has ever laid eyes on. The baby has curly green hair, an obvious trait from his father, and the most cutest dimples in the entire Tri-state area. Ferb looked up at Vanessa and gave her a kiss on the cheek and whispered in her ear. The baby's head shape was similar to Vanessa's, which Ferb was deeply disappointed by. It would have been nice to have another family member who's head was shaped like a bean pole. But regardless, this baby deserved the title of "Fletcher".

"I'm proud of you, Vanessa." He said, choking on his tears. He sniffled as he took one last glance at his son.

"What should we name him?" His fiancee asked.

Ferb thought for a while before a thought entered his mind. Shortly before graduating high school, his Grandpa Reginald and his Grandma Winifred tragically passed away, which devasted the entire Flynn-Fletcher family, especially their son Lawrence. Ferb wanted to raise this kid to be outgoing and adventurous like him, Phineas, and his grandfather Reginald, so Ferb thought of the perfect name.

"Reggie." He said. "Reggie Winifred Doofensmirtz Fletcher."

"Reggie Fletcher..." Vanessa thought of the name and gave Ferb smile before looking down at the baby in her arms. "Welcome to the world, my little Reggie."

Ferb gave his soon-to-be wife one last kiss before cuddling with both her and his child.
