It had now been a year since they found Sonic.
He was still just running around, helping Knuckles with the Master Emerald, still hadn't tried the X Tornado yet and hasn't helped with Eggman since.
He was calm enough to not jump, have a panic or anxiety attack and won't freak out when there's a fight with Eggman.
He was at home watching TV when his door burst open.
"What the?" he said and saw Shadow, Tails, Knuckles, Nebula, Blaze and Silver looking at him. "What?"
"We need your help. Eggman's trying to destroy everything!" Knuckles said.
"No! I'm not doing it!" Sonic said.
"I know you're still scared of this but we need some help!" Shadow said.
"Please Sonic!" Tails said.
"You could lead us once and fought him by yourself multiple times before we created Team Sonic, you can do it again." Knuckles said.
Sonic stood there in silence thinking.
He bit his lip wondering if he's ready for this.
'You're the one with the most experience of him. From the day you turned three you've fought him, once part of the Freedom Fighters, by yourself again then made your own team. Your own family.' he thought.
He sighed and nodded.
"Fine. But Shadow is still leading us."
Everyone nodded then started running to Robotropolis.
While they did that Shadow was thinking.
'By the end of this my time leading them this will be done. Sonic will be completely back to his old self.' he thought.
Sonic thought of something and stopped.
Then he saw the X Tornado catching everyone's attention.
Then he ran, jumped and went inside grabbing something.
When he got down everyone looked at him in shock.
"Tails, I need you to hold onto these for me." he said.
Tails nodded and put them in his backpack.
Then they continued to run.
