"I'm sorry Blu, but I have to do this," whispered Jewel, then flew out the open door. Already through the draught she felt that the temperature outside was very low and felt the snowflakes, but still she wanted to try to escape from home to go to the jungle. She flew out the open door and immediately felt the cold wind blowing on her blue feathers. She suffered a thermal shock quite quickly, so she headed in any direction she wanted, with difficulty keeping herself in the air. She barely took oxygen into her lungs, which made her tired quite quickly. Finally, after less than 5 minutes of flight, Jewel lost consciousness and fell on snow.

A few hours later

Blu fell into quite a deep dream about today and imagined a situation with Jewel. He slept quite pleasantly, probably like never before. But at some point he started to dream something suspiciously familiar. He dreamt that he was a small chick and that he was alone in the hole. A lot of birds were dancing and singing around him and enjoying life. Eventually, he started dancing too. The whole party ended with a shot from a shotgun, which caused chaos. The birds started to flee in all directions. Finally, one of them poked Blu, who fell from the tree.

"No!" shouted Blu, opening his eyes violently. He took a few calm breaths to calm down and looked around. He quickly noticed the wide open door, through which a strong wind was blowing.

"No... She couldn't..." Blu was afraid to finish the thought. His heart immediately began to beat faster. He quickly opened his cage and left it to go towards the stairs immediately. He climbed slowly but at the same time tried to do it quickly. He did not want to waste much time and wake Linde up. When he went to the corridor, he was only thinking about Jewel and asked her not to run away. He walked up to the room door, which was slightly ajar. He swallowed his saliva heavily and leaned out onto the threshold. He opened his eyes wide when he saw the cage door open.

"Shit!" said Blu, hitting the wall with his wing. The strong hit was painful. He quickly put the wing to the beak and started blowing into it.

"Damn" was repeated in Blu's mind. Then he went to Linda's bedroom, where he kept his clothes. He quietly pulled out the drawer and took out his hat and scarf. He put them on and even without closing the drawer he headed for the stairs. He pulled off the railing and went out the door and closed it so that Frost would not get into the flat.

"Jewel! Jewel!" started screaming Blu, screaming around. Unfortunately, the only thing he could see was snowflakes, which were blown up by the harsh wind. Blu soon started walking along the street and screamed the name of the female.

"She could not have escaped far..." Blu thought as he walked by. Unfortunately, there was no trace of her. Soon, when the range of the nearest lamp was over, he turned back to go the other way. At that moment he was thinking of nothing else but Jewel. He was so worried that he did not even feel the cold so much. He walked the other way, but there was still no trace of the female.

"Maybe he's on the other side..."

Watching if nothing was going, he walked safely to the other side, then he walked on the other side. Despite the lamps, which were brightly warm in colour, he still found nothing.

"Help..."

"Jewel?"

"Help..."

Blu heard a female voice in a narrow alley, went there quickly and saw a barely conscious Jewel.

"Jewel!" sighed Blu watching her. Her face was pale, with practically no signs of life. Blu quickly took off his hat and scarf and gave them to Jewel. He took her on his shoulders and started running towards the flat. When he reached underneath, he opened the door and went inside. Still, with Jewel wearing it, he went upstairs, straight into the living room. He put her in front of the chimney, which started to light up.

Half an hour passed when Blu found the wood to light up and warmed up the chimney. He did all this quietly so that Linda would not wake up. To warm Jewel, he put two blankets on her and prepared two cups of hot chocolate. Jewel soon regained consciousness, but still looked very weak. She rose up, seated, but barely sat down. She curled up and stared at the brightest point in the living room - the burning chimney. In the meantime, she was drinking chocolate and staring at the flames that were coming out of the chimney. She was paralysed by the frost. Blu was sitting next to her. Because he was also outside, he also made himself chocolate. He drank it from time to time and stared at the pale face of Jewel. She looked completely different. Her face was no longer radiant with energy and joy, it was bright but dead and there was no smile on her, only reverie, emptiness. Her face was less visible, her eyes were stuck in one place. Only they kept their properties and were still turquoise, reflecting the sparks coming from the fire.

"Why did you do this" asked Blu at one point

"..."

" Why did you do it? After all, I said it was too cold for you, especially at night. By day it may be, but at night it's pure murder for you... I thought you liked it... "

"I like..."

"If you like why you wanted to run away..."

"You don't understand. I even like this place, but I love the jungle, I had to try... I really don't feel bad here..."

"Mhm... You'll stay here tonight, you're frozen."

"And you... Will you go down?"

"No, I'll keep an eye on the fireplace," said Blu. They sat in silence for a few minutes. Jewel was staring at the fire and chocolate was chilling. It was another food, the first drink that Jewel tasted, and she drank it. In fact, she also had no choice but to drink it, otherwise she would freeze to death. Blu sat a few centimetres behind her and watched her. He was disappointed that he had been deceived by her. He thought that he even liked the place, that he liked him. In the meantime, it turned out that she had a good mine to play the wrong game.

"I thought it might work... But now, I honestly doubt it..."

"Thank you", Jewel pulled him out.

"Hm?"

"For saving me... you probably don't believe me, but thank you."

"No problem..." Blu sighed and then he rose.

"Where are you going?"

"I'll close the door... In case" answered Blu, taking the key from the dresser. Slowly he approached the stairs. He was also cold, he did not even want to jump on the arm of the stairs, he just came down. Once he was downstairs, he came to the door. He jumped on it and put the key in the lock and turned it.
