Chapter 14

It was time for Class 1B's hero studies class and with the commotion that came from the near riot at lunch break, the students could take a trip to get out from the school.

They were headed to an undisclosed location, but their teacher did tell them what to expect and that would be Rescue Training.

It was going to be Mr. Aizawa, All Might and another teacher that they haven't met yet.

The homeroom teacher also told the students that wearing all of their costume was optional, as their costumes may hinder them in their Rescuing Lesson for today.

Some of them listened as some parts of their costumes were left back at the school and Matvey was one of them

'Damn, not wearing my pads feels so weird.'

He decided to not wear his fighting gloves, kneepads and elbow pads that he'd normally don with his hero costume. It was a lesson that was going to be about rescuing, so it's not like there was going to be any combat happening, so he made a decision not to bring them, choosing to go barehanded.

It was a decision that he regrated too late as the bus that was carrying the students had reached its destination.

The bus stopped and the students hopped off with their teacher.

They got a chance to look up at the off-campus building. It was like twice the size of a stadium and it had a dome.

"Everyone, I've been waiting for you," A muffled voice said, breaking the students away from gaze of the building and onto a… person.

A person that was wearing a puffy white space suit like jacket, gloves and shorts that showed some thin black ankles that led to some big yellow shoes. They also had on a helmet that showed what appeared to be there eyes underneath them.

"Woah! It's Space Hero, Thirteen! They're the gentlemanly hero who helped rescue tons from disasters! We're going to be learning from you!? This is gonna be so sweet!" An excited Setsuna sputtered out.

'Gentlemanly?'

Matvey looked the hero up and down and truly couldn't tell the gender of the person. When it talked, it sounded like it was a woman, but he really wasn't sure, and the puffy costume didn't do anything to help him figure it out.

"Yes, I will be assisting you all in this lesson. Now let's go inside without delay."

The students headed inside and was able to see the space that they would be working in.

There was a giant water slide that led into a body of water.

A bunch of submerged buildings in what appeared to be a landslide.

Two separate-colored mini sites.

A mountainous area.

An urban environment with its buildings that looked barren and destroyed

…It looked like some sort of amusement park.

"Damn, U.A. must have some serious fucking cash if they can build all of this," Awase thought aloud as he surveyed the whole facility.

"Language Awase," Aizawa warned the headband toting student, "But yes, this schools had plenty of sponsors and of course… funding from our government. So, facilities such as this can be made for you all to get a good understanding of different scenarios in which you'll have to rescue people."

Thirteen chimed in, "That's right Eraserhead! And though it was funded, I myself had a personal hand in creating the many different scenarios you happen to see before you. You have shipwrecks, landslides, fires, windstorms, et cetera! This entire training ground is what I call the Unforeseen Simulation Joint! Or USJ for short."

'Just like the amusement park,' All the students in 1B thought in unison.

Their homeroom teacher walked forward to talk to the Rescue Training Specialist,

"Thirteen, where's All Might? He's supposed to meet us here," Aizawa asked, a little vexed that the number one hero wasn't with them. Though he asked the question, he had a hunch on what the answer was going to be from thirteen.

"About that… He's done a little bit too much hero work and ran out of time, so he's resting in the school lounge."

Aizawa scoffed at the answer.

"B-But he did call to say that he'll try to make it at the end of the lesson!" Thirteen added, trying to bring a bright side to the situation.

"Towards the end huh…" Aizawa said skeptically before he just sighed, "Well it can't be helped. Shall we begin?"

"Yes!" Thirteen beamed, "But before we do, let me just say one thing… or two… or three… four… five… six"

'It's increasing!'

"Now I'm sure some you are aware of my quirk, Black Hole," The rescue teacher informed, "It allows me to suck up anything and turn it into dust. While I have been able to save many with this quirk, this is also a quirk that can kill," imparted Thirteen.

A wave of uneasiness came to the students as Thirteen's sudden and dark statement made them nervous.

"If I were to slip up just a little, I can easily do more harm than good when I try to rescue the people. In our society, personal Quirks have been certified and tightly regulated to the point where it doesn't seem like a problem at first glance, but don't let the fact that there are quirks that can kill easily with one wrong step slip away from you," Thirteen warned.

"…But, with the test your homeroom teacher put you through, you found out the potential of your own powers, and with All Might's combat training, you were able to experience the reality of using your powers against others. In this class, you will learn to use your quirks to save people's lives. I hope that by the end of this lesson, you can leave here with the understanding that your powers were made to help others," Thirteen finished, lightning up the grim mood from what they said prior.

The teacher bowed as the students of 1B began cheering, roused by their speech.

A voice spoke up, bringing an end to the cheers, "Alright then. Let's get this lesson started. First thing we're going to- "

Before Aizawa could finish the instruction, a loud power surge boomed throughout the entire building, turning off all the lights in the still bright building.

The students as well as the teachers seemed alarmed by this as it was clearly not planned.

"Guessing someone forgot to pay the light bill," A joking Kosei said lowly, earning some chuckles from his classmates.

The classmates were able to laugh at the unscripted situation as the teachers tried to figure out what was going on.

It was then, at the corner of his eye when Aizawa saw a strange black mist form from near the fountain far away from them.

The teacher's body tensed up at the strange mist from below, not at all sure what's going on down there.

"Thirteen… do you know what's happening down there?" Aizawa calmly asked.

The helmeted teacher looked down and saw what he was referring to.

"N-No," They responded.

The students all peeked down the steps and observed what was going on near the fountain.

"What's going on down there?" A confused Rin asked, speaking for the class as they were all wondering the same thing.

As the mist started spreading, the more the students started to become worried as not even the teachers seemed to expect this.

Suddenly, a pale and withered hand reached out from the mist and out came a creepy, but familiar sight.

'Wait… it's that guy from this morning.'

Matvey remembered from the morning, the strange person he saw with the crew of media by the entrance gate.

All that can be seen from the man was his intense and unhinged red eye that was leering at the students and teachers a top the stairs.

The mist began to spread even more, bringing out more people, people who had looks of bad intentions written over them. All smirking and grinning wickedly as they walked out from the mist.

The people coming through started dwindling down, but the last one to walk out was easily the most frightening of all.

It was a big, muscular black monstrosity. It had scars and marks all over its body, a yellow beaked mouth and it only wore beige shorts with chilling skull designed knee pads. Most nightmare inducing of it all was the fact that its brain was exposed for everyone to see while their large and fierce but vacant eyes were placed on the sides of it.

"Who are these foul people?" A trembling Ibara asked.

"… Villains," was all Aizawa said, sending the students psyche down the river.

The students all boarded the bus, expecting to partake in a rescue training lesson. Though they were heroes in training, the bus ride on the way to U.S.J brought out the fact that they were all still kids with how they were chattering away without a problem in the world. And now those kids, were looking down at villains who had breached into the training site. A training site that was far away from the school.

'The trespassing at U.A. was the work of these scumbags huh?' Aizawa surmised in his head.

He immediately began to prep himself for combat, putting his yellow goggles over his eyes.

"Alright, you all remain calm. You hear me?" Aizawa sternly instructed his students, in which they all nodded.

"Thirteen, evacuate them," He added before charging towards the villains below.

The students stood back and watched as their homeroom teacher jumped into fray of villains down below.

"Is he out of mind!? W-What's he going to do against all those guys down there!?" Kojiro quavered, worried for his homeroom teacher who has essentially entered a lion's mouth.

It was at this time when the students of 1B got a chance to witness the true strength and capabilities of their homeroom teacher.

A few of the villains come out front from the mob. From the looks of it, it looked like they all quirks that worked from long range. They were all prepared to use their quirks on the quickly approaching teacher, but for some reason they couldn't let it out.

While in their confusion on as to why it wasn't working, Aizawa immediately went to work in putting them down with a flurry of kicks and punches, all while using his scarf to drag and pull the villains in every which way.

Matvey watched as Eraserhead took out the villains and noticed that the hair on his head was standing up, just like when he met him a few days ago at the teachers' lounge.

"Well, if he can fuck them up like that, we shouldn't worry too much about him," Kamakiri coarsely said as the student's minds were put at ease as their teacher seemed to have little problem with the villains he was facing.

"Come on kids! We have to get out of here now!" Thirteen shouted, running towards the exit with the entire class following behind them.

They were near the exit until a black puddle suddenly emerged from the floor and it soon turned into a mist that loomed over them, bringing their escape to a halt.

"I won't let you," A deep voice politely uttered.

As the mist grew a pair of glowing yellow slits were opened at the top of it, making it seem like as if it were its eyes.

"Greetings, young heroes in training, we are the League of Villains. Apologies for the brazenness of our entrance, but we've decided to invite ourselves into the home of heroes, U.A. High School. Our goal is to eliminate the number one hero All Might… but it seems that he isn't present with you all. No matter, the task remains unchanged… I must ask you all to perish peacefully."

The young students stood back in horror as the sentient mist spoke to them. It was up to their teacher to protect the students and just as Thirteen was about to use their quirk to suck up the villain, Inasa stepped up and used his quirk in an attempt to push back to mist villain with the high winds that he emitted from his hands.

"I got this teach!" Inasa confidently shouted, thinking that he did away with the mist villain.

As the villain was getting whisked away by the wind, a giant dark portal opened up in front of it.

Inasa didn't know what the portal was but he kept on blasting the villain with wind. Unbeknownst to the beret wearing teen and everyone else, there was a portal right behind them. What came from that portal was high winds that hit Thirteen and the students.

The unsuspected winds also hit Inasa, causing him to momentarily stop his onslaught.

In this brief moment the mist villain had come back down from being shot up in the air and swarmed all of the students in a dark fog.

"Oh dear, that's dangerous," The villain teased, "I nearly forgot, even if you are just students, you make for truly excellent golden eggs."

The words of the villain fell on deaf ears as the students were all trying to maneuver their way from out of the blinding dark fog.

That included Matvey, who let out his pink Angel Wings and was able to blindly grab a hold of two of his classmates before flying up to get out the misty villain's fog.

He just kept on flapping his pink wings until he could finally get a clear view, which indicated that he was free.

Grateful for his escape, Matvey took some deep breaths and looked at who it was that he rescued. It was his classmates Kendo and Hiryu who were both as grateful to escape. They were both grabbed by their costume as Matvey had lifted them up in the air.

"W-What the hell's going on? Are these really villains?" Kendo shakily asked as she and the two boys looked down below at everything going on.

Matvey looked around and saw a catwalk a little further out from where he was and at the end of that catwalk was an exit sign.

"I-I see an exit sign at the end of that catwalk, we can make out way- huh?"

Before the Russian can finish his sentence, a chain of some sort had wrapped around one of his ankles.

The three looked down and saw some of the villains their homeroom teacher was fighting had broke off and focused their attention at the students up above.

"I got them!" The perpetrator of tightly wrapping Matvey's leg told everyone.

The villain had what appeared to be some type of gun that had shot out the chain that was around Matvey's leg.

"Ah shit," Matvey muttered, doing his best to shake the chain from his leg. But the young man's efforts would be in vain, as the villain had pressed a button on his gun that would swiftly retract the chain and practically yank down the students from the air.

They were coming down fast at high speeds, so fast that Matvey could use his wings to stop them from plummeting. All he could do was keep a tight grip of his classmates.

"H-Hold on!" Hiryu yelled.

He turned his arms into scales and used their sharpness to shoot at the chain that was bringing them down, causing it to break and free Matvey.

Though the chain did break, the students still hit the ground, only they collided into the trees instead of the unforgiving concrete.

The trees did cushion their fall as they all came tumbling down from the branches and into one of the few bushy parts of the Central Plaza.

The three began to cough and catch their breath after the terrifying ordeal, but they would soon be faced with another ordeal. They were on the ground with a bunch of villains nearby.

"I-Is everyone okay?" Hiryu asked.

"Yeah," Kendo responded

"Peachy," Matvey responded.

The students were then aware of the situation as they heard the voices around them.

"Shit, I think we're surrounded," Hiryu whispered.

The voices were now coming closer and closer.

Fear had taken over the bodies of students as they felt like they were only seconds away from their demise.

"Wait you guys, I have an idea," Kendo informed everyone through a whisper.

The villains walked gingerly through the bushes to look for the three students.

"Come on out kids!" One of villains cackled.

"Don't make us find you!" Another warned.

"O-Over here!" A young female voice called out.

The villains stopped their search and saw the three students come up. Hiryu and Matvey stood up both had their hands in the air to show that they didn't want a fight. Kendo was on her knees and had only her left hand up.

"W-We surrender alright, just don't hurt us," Kendo pleaded.

There were about 6 villains in total and they were all standing in front of them.

One of them smirked, "Nice. Now be good little kids… and die for us!"

Before any of them could do anything to them, Kendo's instantly shot her right hand up from the bushes that it was hidden in. The hand was strange to the villains as it was about the size of a mini fridge.

She quickly pulled it back and tossed a volley of sharp lizard scales that she had stored in her enlarged right hand.

They hit the villains who weren't expecting to be hit with the razor-sharp scales.

They were all voicing their pain from the cuts and wounds they received from the scales, not at all looking at the giant left fist Kendo had prepared just for them.

They had little time to react before that giant left fist gave them all a sharp hook. The force was enough to launch all 6 of the villains away from them, leaving the students alone in the bushes.

"Holy crap that actually worked! Nice job Kendo!" Matvey exclaimed.

Kendo gave a humble grin, "I-It's nothing, but we should really focus on getting out of here while we still can."

The two boys agreed.

Matvey could try to fly out his wings, but he'd rather fly out with them away from the bushes to avoid any issue with them not being able to spread out

They made their way from out the bushes and walked out into the central plaza.

A decision that put them in immediate and grave danger.

They had no idea where their position was and they learned that they were behind the fountain… and that put them behind the messy grey-haired villain with the hands all over him and the giant black monster that accompanied him.

To make matters worse, they were right in their line of sight as they were looking directly at the three students.

The villain with the hands all over him spoke to them in a spine tingling cackly voice.

"Well, well, well. Looks like we have a few stragglers that left the herd."
