Spider-Man/Doctor Strange The Midnight Sons Chapter 7
Queens
The streets of Queens was under siege as the army of monsters was attacking the streets as Blade and Ghost Rider were on the scene protecting the people.
"This is gonna be a long ass night" said Blade as he decapitated a vampire.
Ghost Rider used his chains as he strangled a demon after slamming it around on the ground to finish it off. A child seperate from her mother was being cornered by a pack of werewolves as Johnny Blaze uses his chain to yank all three away from her. "RUN!" he tells the girl as she then did what she was told. Blade comes in to finish the pack off with his guns.
"We don't stand a chance if we don't get some back up soon. We gotta regroup and find Marc.
Ghost Rider then looks over as he sees an army massing upon their position.
"Ah shit" said Blade twirling his sword as Johnny grabs his chain and uses the flames from the Spirit of Vengeance to light it up.
Johnny and Eric stood their ground as the army was fast approaching the two. Johhny let out a battle roar as they prepared to charge.
But two cars were thrown at the army thinning the numbers. Johnny and Eric turn to see Scarlet Witch was the equalizer.
"Johnny Blaze. Eric Brooks. I need you two to come with us" said Wanda.
"Who's us?" asked Blade.
"INCOMING !" shouts Mick as he blasts an incoming demon swarm with his heat gun burning them all.
"We need to get the hell out of here now!" said Constantine as he uses Magic to hold off more incoming forces.
"Ava. We got em. How quick can you get here?" asked Wanda on the comms.
"I'm inbound" said Ava as The Waverider arrives and provides covering fire from the guns and lands.
"Alright everyone back on-board. Strange. Spector, we're on our way to you. Status?" asked Wanda.
"We've just regrouped with Spider-Man. The Rogers are safe and heading home. Do you have Brooks and Blaze?" asked Strange.
"Yeah we bloody got 'em. Tell Marc we got his VIPs" said Constantine.
"Wait? How the hell do you know Marc?" asked Blade.
"I'll explain on the way just get on the ship" said Wanda as the team regrouped on the Waverider.
Elsewhere in Brooklyn, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Moon Knight took shelter at the rec center where the festival took place as Peter's Aunt May and MJ were held up in along with the families they managed to save and Bunker in.
"Doc what the hell is going on?" asked Peter. "New York is currently under attack from Supernatural forces caused by the daughter of Mephisto, Satana. She must've opened a portal somewhere and unleashed her father's armies of the underworld" explained Strange.
"Khonshu fortold this. Mephisto is testing the waters to see if Earth is vulnerable enough for him to invade. We need to find a way to close the breach and turn everything back to normal." explained Moon Knight.
"Sucks that The Avengers are out of town on a mission. We could really use some backup. Guess it's just the three of us. We're on our own" said Peter.
"You're not alone Parker" said Ava on the comms.
"Miss Ava? What are you and The Legends doing in New York?" asked Peter. "Magic Sherlock Holms came to us for help. Trust me kid, you're not alone on this. Not on our watch" assured Ava. "Yeah and we're bringing in the big guns" added Nate.
"Copy that" added Peter.
"We're en route to pick you boys up. Get ready" said Wanda.
A small child them walks up to Peter as he tugs on his suit.
"Mr. Spider-Man. I'm scared. Are those monsters gonna hurt us?" asked the child.
Peter then kneels down to level with the kid.
"Hey. It's okay to be scared. I know things look pretty bad. There's monsters everywhere and no one can trick or treat. But Spider-Man is here to make all the monsters go away. Forever. But I'm gonna need some help. Can you help me out?" asked Spider-Man.
"What can I do?" the child asks.
"You see those two nice ladies over there?" Peter asks as he points to Aunt May and MJ. "I need you to look after them for me and everyone else here while I'm gone. Make sure nothing happens to them. Can you do that for me?" asked Spider-Man.
"I don't know..." the child nervously answered.
Peter places a hand on the kid's shoulder.
"Hey. You wanna know what a friend of mine used to say to me?" asked Spider-Man. "What?" the child asks. "He said to me, "With great power, comes great responsibility". He told me that whenever I felt lost or afraid. And you know what? I was able to do some pretty brave things even though I was scared sometimes. So I have faith in you" said Spider-Man as he smiles from beneath his mask as the child hugs his hero with Spider-Man hugging him back. "Alright now go with your parents and remember what I said to you" said Spider-Man as he then goes to talk to Aunt May and MJ.
"Barricade the doors with whatever can. I won't be gone long. Hopefully." he assures.
Aunt May hugs his nephew as she tells him, "Your Uncle Ben would be so proud of you right now. He'd be proud of the man you've become."
"I know he would" said Peter as he turned to MJ.
The two stood on silence for a moment as MJ peels up his mask only showing his mouth as she gives him a goodbye kiss.
"Try not... Try not to die out there." said MJ. "I'll come back to you. I always will." he assured. "Go get 'em Tiger" said MJ with a smile as Peter pulls down his mask.
"Attention all magicians, vigilantes and masked spiders! Your time traveling flying Uber has arrived" said Gary as The Waverider lands.
"That's our cue to go" said Strange as the three heroes take their leave.
