Sorry for the tiny delay with this chapter. I was working on a separate story for an event, and I spent longer on it than I anticipated. ^w^;
Hope this chapter was worth the wait~
Morning rolled around at long last, and Thanatos felt a bit confused when he felt small hands shaking him. Though, he sound found himself realizing that it had to be Eli. They weren't small hands; they were just three fingered. Slowly he sat himself up, rubbing his eyes before turning to the alien. Eli smiling softly to him as he spoke.
"Sorry to wake you. I um... I was just thinking. Dean said he had no energy yesterday. So... I thought maybe you could surprise him with some breakfast. Since I'm a total dud at cooking and all...~"
Perking right up to this suggestion, Thanatos slowly started to grin. Feeling a tad excited! Even if he could only do so much, he could still do this!
"Eli... Good idea! Of course, ahh...!"
Quickly, he got up and started heading straight for the kitchen.
"Thanks Eli, I owe you one."
"Ah, no problem! Tell me how the oven works~!"
Eli called out warmly, waving as the vampire hurried off~
Thanatos hummed mildly as he cooked away. Food he was positive Dean would enjoy. Bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns- the works. Having lived with the Shadow bat for this long, he knew well that he had a rather large appetite. Enjoyed eating and could eat a good deal. This should fill him nicely.
He had to get this just right...
As he took the eggs off the burner, he froze up a bit as he felt paws at his leg. Looking down and finding little Spike there. He was looking up at him with glittery puppy eyes, whimpering at him a bit. Thanatos, feeling his heart grow heavy to the sight...
"Spikey. My gosh, what's wrong?"
Taking a pause from his cooking he bends down, and very gently takes the pup into his arms. Holding Spikey close to him, nuzzling him mildly.
"Poor poor thing... You went through Hell, because of me. I can never let that go... I'm so, so, sorry. I swear to make you all better again, Spike."
Spikey quickly cuddled into his arms. Nuzzling right back into him and shaking his head a bit. Licking his hand before pointing a paw at the food. Meaning... he was just down here for some food, and affection~ Thanatos got the message here, clear, without problem. Finding himself giggling a bit to the puppy's hinting, speaking warmly.
"Oh, of course! Aw Spikey. I'll get your breakfast too, of course. I wouldn't forget about you...~"
Smiling softly at the pup, he gently scratched behind his ear, affectionate. Spikey gave a small bark to this. Tail wagging and wings fluttering~ back leg thumping to the ear scratching even~ reaching up and licking the vampires cheek gently~ This had Thanatos laugh gently. Smiling softly, fondly at the hellhound puppy.
"Aww, aw, little Spikey...~"
Thanatos nuzzles the pup back, gently giving him affection, before gently lowering him back to the ground. Then going over and and grabbing the dog food for Spike. Opening it up, he pours some into the hellhound's bowl. Pleased to hear Spike give an appreciative bark. His wings flapping and eagerly eating up. Tail wagging as he did so~
"I'm glad you're eating well~"
Thanatos smiled warmly, sweetly at the wee pup. Happy to see he was eating so well, as he gets right back to preparing Dean's food. Spike gave a warm bark to this. Finishing up and coming up to him. Nuzzling against his leg gently, tail wagging~ The vampire chuckling to this cute little display, softly speaking.
"You want some affection too, huh. Of course, I'll give you PLENTY of that~"
He beamed brightly warm down at the pup as he started to put the finished food onto the plate.
"As I get this breakfast up to Dean."
Spike gave a small whine before giving a bark. Panting and hurrying up the stairs. No doubt to get back to Dean~ Thanatos chuckling to that precious little display, adoring this sweet little hellhound pup so much~ Getting everything set up on a silver tray, he soon followed after the little pup. Seeing him sitting at the door, tail wagging as he waited for it to open. Chuckling, the vampire opened it up for him, watching as he rushed into the room.
Peeking in himself, he found Dean still fast asleep. Resting comfortably on his side as, no doubt it hurt a bit too much to sleep on his back. His hair was just lightly strewn across his face, and... he looked so peaceful in his sleep. So... cute, actually...~ Blushing mildly, he tried to shake that last part off. Not wanting to think like that. Not now out of all times...
Throwing on a smile, the vampire approached the bed and softly spoke to the sleeping one.
"Good morning Dean. I brought you a little surprise~"
Dean hummed a bit to this. Slowly, opening his eyes up and looking up to him, smiling gently.
"Oh... Morning Than. What's this...~?"
Slowly he sat himself up and leaned back into the pillows. Starting to sniff a bit.
"Breakfast...? Smells amazing...~"
"Really? Oh, I'm so glad~!"
Thanatos grinned brightly as he carefully, gently sets the tray down on the others lap.
"I also gave Spikey his breakfast too. The little sweetheart~"
Smiling at the wee pup, he gently picks him up, and sets him onto the bed with Dean. Watching the hellhound quickly come over and nuzzle against the Shadow bat.
"Heh. Thanks Than~ little Spikey could hardly wait I take it~"
Dean teased his puppy warmly, ruffling his fur as gently as possible.
"Ahh. Really thanks Than~"
"Y-You're welcome. No need to thank me."
'I'm actually making it..!' Thanatos felt his eyes moist here, the sheer feeling of gladness he felt. He felt off to a good start here! He was actually cheering Dean up, and doing things right!
"I-Is there anything else I can do for you? I can look after Spike for you, o-or do any other chores! I'll even do all of them. Anything!"
"Heheh... woah; easy there tiger~"
Dean teased warmly, chuckling a bit. Soon gently saying.
"If you'd like... I think you could help Eli clean the basement a bit. It's kind of a mess from yesterday."
"On it!"
Thanatos turns and dashed out of the bedroom.
"I'll not let you down again!"
Dean merely blinked to this. Softly chuckling a bit to himself. Knowing he'd have to have a little "talk" with Than at some point about all this...~
Moving quick on his feet, Thanatos raced down to the basement. Determined to do this right! To clean this up and not let Dean down again. Once down there... he found himself slowing to a stop, finding Eli leaning against the table. Toothpick in hand, picking at his fangs a bit. Everything seemed... rather clean for Eli standards.
"Eli... Gosh. You cleaned up nicely."
He said to the Novian, looking around, clearly impressed. Eli was not known for being a very clean person. He was just the opposite frankly. To see things this clean was, a bit surprising. The alien in question smiled over to Thanatos. Smirking and crossing his arms.
"Let me guess. Dean sent you down here, huh? Probably thought I was gonna do a poor job~"
"Hehe. Gee, you're full of surprises Eli. Aren't ya...?"
'Making me full of useless work.' Thanatos thought sadly to himself, rubbing his arm softly.
"Heh. That I am~"
Eli agreed. Oblivious to the others mood it seemed, as he continued.
"Here. I have something you could do for Dean. He said he could hardly move right? Well. I know you, attempted, to give him a massage yesterday. That would probably do him good right about now~"
Thanatos perked right up to Eli's idea. Soon smiling brightly.
"Good idea! That is, oh gosh, yeah! Thanks Eli!"
"No problem. Now, hop to it Than~!"
Eli said playfully. Thanatos, hurrying back on upstairs after. A small blush on his cheeks though, as he realized that he would be seeing Dean, shirtless again...~ Once back in the shadow bats room, he found Dean giving Spike some tummy rubs. Breakfast finished, and the tray and bowls at the night stand. Spikey quite happy with little legs thumping cutely~ And he couldn't help but smile in soft awe to the adorable sight before him~
"I see you finished your breakfast. Was it good?"
Dean smiled to this and looked up. Saying warmly.
"Course it was. It was delicious. You're a wonderful cook Than~"
"Ahh. Nooo. I'm not that good...~"
Thanatos shyly ducked his head, blushing a cute tinge. And then looking at Dean again. Blush growing a bit brighter as he spoke.
"Ah. Why I'm here, I was hoping to... to, resume, the message I hoped to give you before. I still want to do it. And thought, it'd help to make you relax."
Dean blushed bright to this. Looking like he wanted to protest. Only... to sigh softly.
"Ahhh. As much as I still hate taking off my shirt... I think that would be best too~"
"Good. Here, let me get us started."
Thanatos got right down to it; sitting himself at the side of the bed, and smiling gently to the little pup at Deans side.
"Pardon me Spikey~"
Spike gave a small bark of understanding. Gently hopping down and hurrying over to his doggie bed. Curling up cutely, resting comfortably. Dean... slowly sitting up, and pulling off his shirt. Blushing shyly as he laid down.
"Just um... d-do be careful of the symbol, k?"
"I promise Dean. I will this time."
Thanatos gently assured the other. Not wanting to touch that symbol again, and make Dean see such things. Determined to make this work this time. No matter what. Determined to help him feel better... and finally get some stress off of his back for real.
"Okay, here I go."
Placing his hands onto Dean's back gently. He begins to do his work. Carefully moving his hands up and down, feeling Dean slowly start to relax to his touch even. The shadow bats eyes closed up, a bright red blush spreading across his face even. 'He likes it! So far so good~!' Thanatos smiled to himself, so happy to see Dean was starting to relax. Was starting to enjoy this message. Working on the top part of the back a bit more, before he slowly made his way to the lower part.
Though... as soon as Thanatos got there... Dean, felt a particularly sensitive part on his back get worked. It still, too sore. Like a huge knot was there, that wasn't ready to be worked on! The bat jolting a bit, getting out a soft/sharp "Ouch!" Though... quickly bit into his pillow after. Hoping he hadn't worried Than further...
To hearing that soft cry, Thanatos immediately took his hands away, recoiled in shock.
"S-Sorry Dean! I-I didn't mean to hurt you..."
'He's STILL in bad shape, especially from Pyro yesterday! ... Who am I kidding?' Feeling soooo bad. So low here... Feeling like he'd cry, in front of Dean again... Swiftly up and off from the bed, without looking at Dean, Thanatos rushed out of the bedroom. Calling out to the other.
"I'll do the shopping now! I'll be back!"
"Th-Than wait-!"
Dean tried, trying to hurry up. Body protesting BAD as he tried. Dropping to his knees, and growling mildly, hand over his back, cursing himself for being helpless here... naturally. He was too late. Thanatos was already gone, the front door heard being slammed behind him.
Thanatos sighed a bit as he finished up the shopping. Rubbing his eyes a bit, trying to calm himself a bit. He needed to get a grip, and he knew that. But... he, just felt so useless right now.
He couldn't help Dean relax... he kept on hurting him when he was supposed to be helping him. It didn't seem to matter what he tried. He just... kept hurting him. He felt so useless around the others... Jake and Wulfric having worked hard to try and get the house back. Eli installing the oven and cleaning things up... it didn't seem he could measure up to them...
He honestly wasn't sure why he kept trying... he would never be able to fully make things right with Dean...
Sighing again, the vampire just focused on his walk home. Although... As he walked on, he... He couldn't help, but feel something amiss. Probably just him, his shaken nerves, so he chose to ignore it. Surely it was nothing...
But then out of the blue. An electric shock! Feeling his whole body shocked, as if it were hit by lighting! Dropping his groceries. Thanatos could feel himself lose consciousness. Falling to the ground with a hard thud!
