Brennan and Booth remained hand in hand at the store. Booth wanted to be a part of Alex's uniform process. Alex was trying on different kinds of uniforms while Booth and Brennan waited for her outside. Booth got closer to Bones, "you look really nice today bones." He says. Brennan smiles, "Thanks Booth, you are too." Booth just stood there mesmerized by her smooth porcelain skin. He decided to quickly peck her cheek. Brennan flinched and blushed, "Booth, were in public!" She hisses, "but if anything, else is going to happen between us. We really should discuss. For our sake and for Alex." She whispers. Booth grabbed Bones hand and squeezed it. "Of course. I agree. Whenever you want to talk about us and Alex. I'll be free. But I already know what i want." Booth says. "Mommy, are you ready to see me!?" Alex yells from the dressing room. They took a step back from each other, "Yes! Come on out!" Brennan says. Alex walks out in her uniform, Brennan puts her hands on her own face, "You look so cute, honey! It's the perfect size. Do you like this one?" she asks, fixing Alex's hair and spinning her around. Alex nods, "Yes, I love it. I'd like to get this one please." she asks nicely. "You look beautiful, Alex." Booth says as he takes Alex's hands. Alex giggles, "Thank you!" "If anyone ever messes with you at school, you gotta tell me. Okay, honey?" Booth says. Alex nods, "I will." she says as she hugs Booth. Brennan is watching the beautiful moment in awe. The tiny family purchased the uniforms and continues with their day, but Booth had to leave them to pick up Parker for his weekend visit. When Alex left, she became sad and Brennan noticed. "Honey, what's wrong?" Brennan asks as they walk into their home. "I'm sad that Booth had to leave. I like spending time with him." She speaks. Brennan kissed her forehead, "I know, but he had to get Parker." she said. "Parker is lucky that Booth is his dad." Alex whispers as she places their shopping bags on the floor. "Booth will always be here for you. Okay? Just like I will." Brennan says as she closes her fridge and hands Alex some apple juice. Alex smiles and hugs Brennan. "how about we start making dinner?" she asks. Alex nods, "Yes, let's do it!"
Mother and daughter were eating dinner, "Mom?" Alex says and Brennan looks up, "Yes, honey?" Alex began twiddling her thumbs, "Are you sure I'm going to stay with you? Do you really want me to stay?" she asks afraid. Brennan took a sip of her wine and scooped up her daughters' hand into her own. "I'm going to do everything in my power to expedite the adoption process because I want you to stay. You have to stay, you're my daughter and I'm your mother, right?" she says. Alex nods, "Right. I'm just afraid. I'm sorry I need constant reassurance." she says while trying to smile. Brennan chuckles, "You are only 10. So, it's expected. I was a foster child; did you know that? So, I know exactly what you're feeling." she rubs her hand. Alex gasps, "Really? We do have a lot in common. It was meant to be." she says. Brennan laughs and scuffles up Alex's hair. She needed to talk to child protective services and her attorney as soon as possible. Dinner was over and Alex had gone to bed. She was tired from her busy day. Brennan was reading in her living room and she heard a knock at the door. She went to answer it and it was Booth and she smiled, "Hey, I thought you had Parker this weekend?" she asks as she invites him in. Booth walks in, "yeah, I did. But, Parker forgot about a birthday party he has tomorrow. I wanted to come and talk." he says as he takes Brennan's hand. She softly smiles and leads him to the living room to sit down, "Do you want some wine? I was having a glass earlier." she asks. Booth responds, "You got Beer?" and chuckles and Brennan does the same. "You know I do." she says as she gives him the bottle. "I had a great time today, Bones. Alex is just so..special." Booth says as he takes a sip. Brennan smiles, "that she is. I'm contacting my lawyer tomorrow to begin the adoption process." she says. "That's wonderful Bones. She needs you and you've already given her nothing but the best. You've also given her a few more pounds," he says laughing. Brennan sighs, "Yes, I'm very happy that she's gaining weight. I'm also very happy that you're being so supportive. Of this. Of me." she says somberly. Booth places his hand on her Bone's cheek, "You know I'm with you Bones. For all of this. When we kissed…" he continues, "I felt it. I know I'm not exactly specifying what I felt but I know you know what i'm referring to. I want to give us a shot. I want to be here for you and for Alex." he finishes and lets her face go. Brennan keeps his hand in hers, "I do know the feeling you're referring to. I'm just afraid, Booth. Now not only my heart is on the line. Alex too. She already adores you. In fact, today she mentioned that Parker was lucky to have you as his daddy." she says as her blue eyes begin to glisten. "I want to be with you Booth. We've always shared a special connection and now Alex is a part of that too. Are you willing to be there for the both of us?" she asks. Booth scoots closer to her and takes both of her hands while leaning his forehead on hers. "I'm willing to be here for the both of you. I'm more than willing to love you both unconditionally. I'll take in Alexandra as my own. If she's yours then she's mine." he says and kisses her forehead. "What do you say, bones? Let's finally give us a shot. I know there isn't anyone else for me." he says to her. Instead of responding to Booth using her words she grabbed his face ever so gently and kissed him deeply. She had been wanting to the entire day. "Yes. I never thought I'd live a life like this. A life as happy as this." Brennan says. Booth smiles and returns the kiss and they both end the night and embrace by the fireplace.
