Hello! Author ready to answer a few questions!
Neo Infinity: The reason why Ren is like that, is because I just couldn't think of a way to take him out of the romantic picture with Nora (Who I want it to be in the Harem). Sooooo... I made him a girl and most of my problems went away! And yes Glynda and Winter will be in the Harem, need to think of something if I want Coco though.
Onyx Gabriel: I know that after a few seasons it was said his name is Lie, but honestly through the whole series everyone kept on calling him Ren, and therefore even if I changed Lie to Lian or Lily, it wouldn't actually make that much of a difference with everyone still calling him Ren. Hope you understand.
Westrannor: I see your point, and haven't Jaune been doing this since the beginning with Sword Mastery and Power Strike? He will spend skill points on the ones he truly needs but everything else he'll simply train from the ground up!
Frowen: Don't worry, if anything it was my fault for forgetting to put her name and everything else. Upsy daisy~~
Guest: Hahahaha! Oh my god, I might actually make an OMAKE about this. Jaune maxing out seduction and Lovemaking to subdue Salem! HA!
Anyways on with the story! Almost ten thousand words!
Nuckelavee Problems
See the problem of having a great night is waking up from it, you rise up sluggish and craving to go back to dreamland. I discovered that thanks to Gamers Mind I don't really have that predicament and am always at 100% the moment I wake up.
This is something I am especially glad to have as nobody in their right minds would be in a great mood after being awoken by an explosion, soon accompanied by the alarm of the village, an alarm specially made for Grimm Invasions.
Getting out of bed as Lyro scrambled to put on her clothes, my eyebrow couldn't stop twitching in frustration.
Why does every bloody village I visit end up like this?
Is it Tuesday? It has to be Tuesday. Crap like this just happens when it's Tuesday. First day here, Tuesday, there was a Grimm attack, third Tuesday I wake up to a fucking Adult Nevermore pecking me, and now this?!
Oh whatever, I can be angry later right now I have a job to do. Turning to face Lyro I see she is already clothed with the clothes of yesterday night and is currently looking out of the window in barely contained panic. Getting up myself and hastily throwing a Pumpkin Petes hoodie together with loose jeans, I put a hand on her shoulder bringing her out of the stupor she appeared to be in.
"Lyro, I need you to grab everything essential and go to a safe house," I say in the sternest voice I can muster; I have never really done any of this, but I can get a skill for it later, right now the priority is making her leave and save herself.
She looked shaken, and then stared right into my eyes, her panic seemed to subside at the small smile I gave her. She took a deep breath and then weakly smiled at me. "You're going out there aren't you?"
I could only look to the side, never knew how to deal with people looking softly at me. She gives me a small chuckle "You're the type to save everyone they can, right?", Goddammit do women have a hidden superpower or something? We barely met each other and for the hours we did it was mostly sex; how can she already know my personality like that?
The way I looked shocked at Lyro seemed to amuse her by the smile she is currently giving me. Before she suddenly leaned forward and whispered into my ear "If you do a good enough job, I might even reward you~~."
Jumping out of the window I barely hear her amused laughter. What? Even if I like saving people, it never hurts to have incredible motivation.
That's beside the point right now I need to help this village-

Y/N
I was wondering when you would appear.
Absently clicking the yes, I activate Sense Danger which uses 200 MP per minute, but it's nothing thanks to the Perk Grand Mana. Although the area of ten meters it covers is small, it much better than nothing.
Reaching the main square Gamers Mind activates after noticing the corpses around the street being ravaged by Grimm, the way they close their jaws around the human flesh is nauseating and if it wasn't for Gamers Mind, I don't think I would be capable of moving around. Taking a deep breath, I unsheathe Crocea Mors.
Running through the street taking notice of the survivors who are all huddled up in groups, each one being surrounded by Beowolves, Ursas and the odd Boartusk or Nevermore. Putting that on the back of my mind, I jump high into the air, alerting the Grimm and civilians of my presence, a Beowolve turns around to look at what made the noise but it's too slow, I grab Telluris Pondus still on its scabbard mode and smash as hard as I can on top of its head, the satisfying crack it gave told me it was dead. Dual Wielding with a sword and club is really fun.
Putting my back to the group I slash at another Beowolf with Croceas before they could react severing it in two, an Ursa raised its large arms and smashed its huge pawns at me, dodging back I cut the arm off and proceeded to smash the scabbard right on its exposed neck shattering it to dust. Opening my shield and pumping MP into it, I was welcomed by the sight of many Grimms being propelled back by a shockwave of mana.
With this breathing room, I speak to the people. "All of you, I cleared the path towards the safe House, run there as fast as you can and stop at nothing!" infusing Mana into my speech I hope this works, not everyone is willing to listen to the words of a Fourteen-year-old after all
Ping! Through continual use, the skill Force Speech was created
Reputation Check Passed (Req RP = 25 {Lowered by Trait [Desperate]} = 5, RP = 5)
Oh, thank goodness, seeing them scramble to get to their feet, I turn to block the wild slash from another Ursa, before sidestepping a lunge from a Beowolf, then rolling underneath another attack I rise slashing an Ursa torso spilling black blood onto the ground, twisting my body pouring mana I scream.
"Power Strike!"
And before they knew it, four Grimms died being bisected by my sword, changing Telluris to a scabbard again I run towards the next group jumping on top of a Boartusk while sinking my blade on their eye earning a shriek from the pig and repeated the same thing I did with the last group.
Rise and repeat, I kept on fighting and little by little the influx of Grimm started thinning, it also helped that there were a few Huntsman around, killing multiple Grimms, seeing some of them nearly disappear as they moved too fast for my eye, I was once more surprised by how strong they all were, further noticing that for some reason as they get hurt either by a swipe of sharp claws or a vicious bite they generally don't get wounded, they still feel pain but most of the time no wounds appeared except for a specific few.
Focus Jaune! There are people dying, you can think about these theories when you are not busy fighting creatures of rage and destruction. Shaking my head, I see that the hunters got this sector of the city covered, even if there are fewer huntsman than when we started, so nodding to one of them I turn back and search for more people needing help, Sense Danger helped but not enough so how do I find them?
"AAAAAAAAH!" there is my cue. Sprinting at top speed I jump over a house that was in the way –Gamers Stats for the win-, rolling to bleed the damage and then looking at the scene to access the situation. There are two people here, a young man and an unconscious woman close to his chest.
My landing got the attention of a few Grimms, but I needed a way to get into the middle of everything, so pumping MP into Telluris I run forward towards the swarm of enemies. Thanks to Aegis I was able to push past all of them, stopping right in front of them, crashing the shield on a Beowolf snout, I recognize that maybe I might have underestimated their numbers.
"M-Mister, t-t-there are too m-many-"
"No time to be panicked, she is counting on you." I cut him off, the less he thinks about these odds the more chance he will go along with the plan.
"Listen to me! I will create a path, and I really need you to go get help afterward." Using Force Speech, I really hope he goes along.
Reputation Check Passed (Req RP = 25 {Lowered by Trait [Desperate]} = 5, RP = 5)
Alright, I'm truly glad I got this skill.
Pumping five thousand MP on my shield, this was the first time I went past the thousand marks, when the explosion went off, I had to hook my feet on the ground because the energy was forcing me back, after the wave of mana subsided I couldn't help looking wide-eyed at the sight, all the Grimm who were in front of me completely disappeared in a cloud of ashes, and the ones who didn't look very damaged, only the ones at the back were nearly uninjured cautiously looking at me.
Without missing a beat, I grab the man by his arm and shove him through the path I managed to open, after stumbling a bit he managed to keep running. Protecting him from a bite of a Beowolf and then pushing him down from a passing Nevermore, we managed to leave the middle of the swarm and I finally realized that it was a whole fucking lot of Grimms. Just as we were leaving the street a Juvenile Nevermore dived in between us. Looking at the Grimm as big as a car, I recognized the intelligence in its eyes.
"Keep running! Don't stop!"
And run he did. After looking at me conflicted he nodded and kept on running "I'll get help!" I hear him shout just before he disappeared around a building.
Looking at what seems like dozens of Beowolve, Ursas, and other Grimms I couldn't help but chuckle, pumping MP on both of my weapons I slashed the air throwing an Air Slash towards unsuspecting Grimms, many were caught unaware and were then stunned. Using that opportunity, I leaped away from the big Nevermore throwing another Air Slash at its face in precaution, it cried in anger and swung its huge wings, flying up and away from me.
Ignoring the giant turkey for now I dive straight into the face of an Ursa, stabbing my sword through its open mouth, and then blocking a wild slash from a Beowolf. Jumping on its outstretched arm I brought my shield down on its face, kicking it away soon after to get out of the way of another Beowolf thirsty for my blood, stabbing my sword on the ground to stop myself from flying headfirst into a Boartusk, I twist my body and kick the pigs face with all my strength, sending it skidding back.
Taking Crocea out of the ground and blocking the claws of a flying Young Nevermore I create six Mana Arrows shooting two of them at the flying bird and the rest into unsuspecting Grimm.
Even if they haven't done any real damage against me, it's not hard to realize that for every Grimm I kill three more seem to take their place.
"Crescent Cutter!"
Fuck! They replenish faster than I can kill them, Sense Danger warning me I barely roll to the side in time to dodge sharp feathers from hitting me. Looking up I see the Juvenile Nevermore glaring at me. Yeah, there is that as well.
Before I was able to position myself properly a Boartusk slammed into my unsuspecting shield making me fly before being abruptly intercepted by an Ursa slamming its thick pawns on my side, rolling on the ground I slash at a Beowolf that tried to pounce at me. Pumping more mana into my shield I slam it on the ground, not only creating a shockwave to all sides but also sending me flying towards a surprised bird.
Looking right at the red eyes of the Nevermore not even a meter away from me I couldn't help but grin.
"Yo! Crescent Cutter!" sending a red arc of mana towards it, the Grimm could only scream in pain as its sight was robbed. It then processed to ram into me sending us falling to the ground, and I like to believe I managed to land much more graciously than a blind bird. Turning around I see that we were both send to another part of the town, not that I paid too much attention, what I did pay attention to was the Grimm slowly standing up. Looking around before for somehow looking straight at me giving off a loud screech.
Nevermore
Juvenile Grimm
Level 68
HP: 1300/7600 MP: 0
Afflictions: [Bleeding] [Blinded]
It's coming!
Running at each other, I couldn't stop the feral grin on my face. Fighting is so much fun!
"Here's NORA!"
Before either I or the Nevermore could understand what was going on its head was smashed in by a giant Hammer
Nora Valkyrie
Lady of Thunder
Level: 33
… Did she level up? Whatever. Before I was even able to say anything, Nora was already in front of me "Hey Jaune-Jaune! What are you doing here?"
Studying her brightly smiling face for a few seconds I shake my head. No matter which world I can never stay angry at Nora. Chuckling a bit, I raised my hand and rustled her hair.
"Just killing some Grimm, thanks for the assist Nora."
"You're Welcome! Now c'mon we need to show these Grimm why this is our property!" without saying anything else she turned around and ran off, thankfully knowing Nora as I did I wasn't put off by it and ran in the same direction catching up to her soon after.
Nora led me towards another street which I looked around seeing many bodies of Grimms slowly dissipate into the air, looking at the culprit I couldn't help but raise my eye brown at them. They were currently fighting a Juvenile King Taijito, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by how efficient he seemed, with his two sickle/guns Rin was controlling the flow of the fight, bending and evading just outside the Grimm strikes. I then slap my face with both hands.
Stop checking out another man!
When I look again, one of his weapons is stabbed right into the eye of a snakehead, his fist was then covered in a Pink light, something I have never seen before except for Power Strike which made the attack shine a bit, and it seemed to be about the same because his fists were able o sink into the Grimms scales perforating its brain.
Rin relaxed a bit and turned around to look at us, not noticing the second head lunging at him until it was right on top of him. But Nora did notice.
"Nora's Pancake!"
The other head wasn't even able to process what happened before it was squashed by Magnhild. I couldn't help but whistle slightly, her strength must be bordering High E-Rank Territory for that to happen. Nora then immediately jumped on Rin's back.
"Rinny, I killed a lot of Grimms so I expect a Triple Deluxe Breakfast Pancake Feast!"
"I'll cook you some pancakes afterwards Nora."
"YAAAY!" I fucking love these two.
Watching them with a bemused smile I walk over to them. Looking around the area confirmed no Grimms are near, meaning now would be a good time to group up and Plan. And I also know they are trying to distract themselves with the usual banter. It's not their fault, just an instinctual trigger to not feel lost or scared
"Rin, Nora. I need your help. Let's team up and kill these Grimms!" They turn to me and sober up a bit after seeing my frowning face. Having transferred to this world, this part of them didn't seem to change, that no matter if both are extremely strong, they are ultimately not leaders, even in my old life Pyrrha was a better option of a leader in our group, I mean if they were older and more experienced and the situation calls for it, they could probably be great leaders, but as of right now? They are only fourteen-year-olds trying to cope with their village being attacked.
Reputation Check Passed (Req RP = 25, RP = 25)
I'm so thankful for that mysterious perk right now.
Watching their faces morph in determination they nod at me – Nora much more vigorously than Rin -, I nod back with a small smile. "Nora! From what I have seen so far, you are the heavy hitter, smash them as soon as Rin and I are out of the way!"
"You got it Jaune-Jaune!" She saluted while hanging the hammer on her shoulders. Nodding at her I turn to Rin.
"Rin, I need you to flank and generally be a nuisance to any Grimm you can. With your agility and mastery of Aura, it shouldn't be that difficult." He only gave me a nod in acceptance.
Turning around and shifting Telluris into its shield form I speak "Let's go!"
"Wooooohooo! Team JRN (Juggernaut) ready for battle!"
Looking at the back of the blonde swordsman Rin couldn't help but wonder once more who he was. Bloody hell, they met once and somehow the boy managed to worm his way through Nora's and Rin's heart deep enough for them to follow his lead.
It wasn't logical, and for the life of her she couldn't feel any rightful weariness towards Jaune, that same voice that told her Jaune would protect them until the end of times was once more telling Rin that Jaune was someone to be trusted, as if her gut was telling her to follow Jaune's lead.
She soon understood why.
Jaune was strong, like Nora level of strength, but he was also fast and agile just like her. Not only that but he seemed like a natural leader. With their formation no Grimm was able to truly hurt them, Jaune would get their attention first, with Rin annoying the target or blocking any nearby Grimm from interrupting the Blonde, which he then gave the signal for Nora to smash with everything she had, instantly killing the Grimms in two hits or less.
Any time something unexpected happened Jaune would rapidly change tactics towards something that would work, when an Adult Boartusk ran into their clearing Rin got a bit worried. While younglings are easy to deal with, and at her peak performance she can kill about two Juveniles Grimms, she wouldn't dream of killing an Adult by himself.
When Jaune stepped up and angled his shield caching a charging Boartusk under its belly, then proceeded to create an Aura Shockwave Rin was once more shocked, Jaune immediately controlled the flux of the battle, shouting out commands that were effective against the Adult Grimm, and when she saw the corpse of the Grimm decaying she couldn't help but look at the blonde running alongside her towards the next place filled with Grimm. Adult Grimms were, while not the strongest Grimms very powerful, only a team of D-Rank Huntsman could kill one as easily as they did. And yet with Jaunes help and orders, it was possible.
A question that has been plaguing her mind since last night resurfaced with a vengeance.
Who are you Jaune?
Ping! Skill Tactician has leveled up by one
Ping! Skill Leadership has leveled up by one
The skill Leadership had popped up just after I made my first command, it had leveled up by two times after all the fighting we have done. And honestly for each level upon the skill, conveying what I meant got much easier.
It also helped this reminded me of Raids I made in games with other players.
Tactician is a skill I have learned a few weeks ago but was still level four by the sole fact that I don't really need that many tactics against Younglings and Juveniles.
Nora seemed like she was having fun at first, smashing all the Grimms I gave her the okay on doing it, but after seeing the bodies of citizens both Nora and Rin attitudes changed. Both much more focused on killing as much Grimm as possible burning themselves out and being generally depressed as one would be, thankfully after a little chat I was able to get them out of the dumps.
"Phew~ that was certainly a workout." We had just killed the Adult Boartusk turning to Rin and Nora I note their slight short breaths and am once again reminded of the bullshit that is my power. I can't really feel tired until I collapse of exhaustion thanks to Gamers Body. "Take a break guys, you fought well."
Nora just nods at me before throwing herself towards Rin who gives a little yelp in fright when they are both knocked to the ground, I chuckle at them.
Sitting down next to them myself I lean on a building wall and close my eyes but still keep my senses at high alert, right now my MP s down to 40% and my HP is around 70%, this rest will really help me out.
"Hey, fearless leader?" Nora says quietly, which is unusual considering how she is. Opening one of my eyes I look at her, only to be taken back by the sad look in her face as she gazes around, following her gaze I stare at the broken houses and the walls smeared with blood.
"We won't be able to come back will we?" god I hate when Nora speaks like this, is so out of character for the bubbly ginger I know I almost physically feel ill. I can also see how Rins shoulders tense and his eyes hardened at that statement. Which I understand, having to leave the place you called home for years is a hard thing to do.
"Probably not… because we are too weak to protect it." Staring straight at them both I see how they slump at my statement; Rin looks like he's about to say something, but I cut him off "And because we are weak more people will get hurt."
I see their faces get tighter and sadder, and I hold myself back from comforting them, I need to tell them this. So, they will be strong in the future.
"Because we are weak, we need to leave this place behind." Oh god, their eyes are starting to glisten, please don't cry! Just a bit more!
"Because we are weak, we weren't able to protect them." Our little group falls into silence, and I see that they are holding themselves back from crying, the only reason why Rin was not countering my points is that they are true. Right now, we are weak.
"But tell me something Nora, Rin. Do your arms still work?"
They both were taken back, not expecting the question before both slowly nod at me, standing up I keep my stare locked on them "Do your legs still work?"
This time they looked even more confused, but the way I was intensely looking at them made them take this question seriously, and this time nod more firmly.
"Then why do you look so defeated?" The look of desperate confusion I received made my heart bump a bit faster.
Shonen speech powers help me!
"As long as your arms work, you can still fight! As long as your legs work, you can still move! As long as your body works, you can still live!" Placing a determined smile on my face I open my arms, facing their surprised looks.
"And as long as you live you can get stronger!" That seemed to do it, their surprised faces changed, something inside them clicked with the words I said.
"So get stronger! Strong enough to make sure people don't get hurt again." Grabbing both their hands I pull them up, not letting their hands from mine.
"Strong enough to protect the ones precious to us!" At that, I clench my hand tighter around theirs.
"And if that is not enough, remember you always have friends that will always be by your side." Tortoise and Magenta eyes looked at me with a new light shining in them, a fire that would forever burn brightly in them. Looking at their smiles of determination I could only think one thing.
Thank you Shonen speech powers!

Even though I managed to pull that out of my ass, I meant every word. Right now we are just too weak, the most we can do is kill the youngling and Juveniles with the odd Adult Grimm while leaving the rest to other Hunters, I'm just glad we haven't run into something too strong for us to deal with. If an Elder appeared, only after sacrificing a lot of hunters would we be able to kill it. But that is for another time, right now we have been fighting for a long time, and Nora and Rin while not willing to admit are currently running on fumes.
Right now, we were escorting a large group of civilians towards the main safe house of the village, killing the Grimms who were attracted by their fear and anxiety.
It took a while but soon a building came to vision being protected by Huntsman, leading the people inside I sighed in relief. We had already looked through the center of the city trying to find missing civilians, but I didn't want to lead Nora and Rin towards the outer walls that are probably still being attacked, they could barely handle seeing the few bodies around, I couldn't imagine what they will feel if they saw the landscape of corpses that is probably out there.
Walking out of the big building I turn just as they are about to walk out with me.
"You both should rest here," I spoke calmly, but the way they looked at me might as well made it seemed like I just told them to go kill themselves in the most horrific way possible.
"What!? But we can still fight Fearless Leader!" The look she was giving me almost made me buckle, but I have many little sisters, so a puppy's eye technique is useless!
Oh no she's quivering her lip. That's not fair! Against the rules!
Gulping my guilt I raise my hand and lightly push Nora's head, she almost fell on her behind needing to grab a nearby barrier for support, before they were running not only on fumes but also adrenaline and right now it had already washed off, Rin was also holding himself by leaning into a wall.
"No you can't, you and Rin are exhausted. Right now, that could easily get you killed." The tone of fatality in my voice was enough for them to know I won't be budging on this, even if it hurt them insinuating that they are weak, it's much better than being dead.
"What about you?" turning to meet Rin's stare I could only look to the side in bashfulness.
He let out a sigh, before giving me a small patient smile.
"We'll be waiting for you. C'mon Nora, let's see if they have something to eat." With that being said he turned around and walked through the masses of people there. Nora stayed a bit looking at me before letting her usual wide smile formed on her face.
"Knock them dead Fearless Leader!" She grins brightly before turning around and lightly jogging after Rin shouting something about wanting Pancake Rations.
Chuckling at them fondly, I was happy to see that no matter what world I'm in Nora and Rin are still the greatest friends I could have asked for. And at that moment I knew, even if my other friends are not completely the same as before, it didn't matter. I would still die for them in a heartbeat.
Spinning around I run towards the most populated location filled with Grimms and Huntsman.
Catching up with her bestest friend Nora couldn't help but think about Jaune.
Before today she only thought of him as someone really interesting. I mean she knocked him down hard! All the people kind-of-maybe ended up in the hospital when that happened -But she is getting better! Only two people this year!- so when he didn't, she realized he must have been very strong! And she was proved correct when she felt his muscles through his clothing when she was on top of him. They had great definition and strength she didn't think someone so young other than her would have.
And then there was his personality. At first, it was just the way he talked and acted but Jaune-Jaune was really fun to be with, not only did he understand her and was patient like Rin, he indulged her and played along with her as if he's done it a million times.
Which should have been strange, but she liked strange! She was strange and that was fine. Normal is boring anyway.
So that was what Nora thought of him before, a really good friend who she could see becoming one of her closest friends. He would be a good general in her army.
And then the invasion happened. At first, she was angry, who did this Grimm think they were!? And with righteous fury, she struck down any Grimm that came her way. But at the end of the day, there were too many and she and Rin were being easily pushed back, getting uncoordinated, and tired easily without any tactics except trusting each other back.
She didn't regret doing that, looking at Rin who was able to grab what looked like two plates of food and water she knew that Rin trusted her just as much as she trusted Rin.
Where was she? Oh yes! They were being pushed back, and then she saw Jaune-Jaune being launched towards the big bird in the sky. Rin was also shocked before she was further shocked when Jaune-Jaune threw a laser to the bird's eye and both fell close to them.
She was then able to see how good of a leader Jaune-Jaune was, deeming him great enough to be titled, Fearless Leader. Certainly, a title to be honored!
Grabbing the plate Rin offered to her, she started talking to her best friend, but her mind kept on going back to when Jaune-Jaune called them weak, not only them but himself as well. And then he spoke about getting stronger, his conviction his determination really changed something inside her. And she knew the same could be said for Rin.
Just like Rin had that little voice in her head telling her Jaune would forever protect them, Nora had a feeling in her gut that told her the very same thing.
It's also one of the reasons why she really liked Jaune-Jaune. What she didn't like was being left behind, and even if Jaune sugarcoated the reason why he was out there, and they were in here, it was obvious.
They were weak.
She hated that feeling, she wish-
"Remember Nora." Her trail of thoughts was cut short when Rin bumped her shoulder lightly against hers.
"If we are weak now, then we just need to get stronger, strong enough so Jaune doesn't need to fight alone." She gave Nora a small smile. Aaah leave it to Rin to simplify things, really loved her for it.
Nora gave him a wide smile.
"You're right! So, what if we are weak now? We just need to get stronger, so Fearless Leader will have a team to lead!"
"Oh? You already think of Jaune as your leader?"
His answer was a knowing smirk.
"Yup, and don't tell me otherwise, I know how you looked at him~~" seeing his lightly red dusted cheeks Nora giggled.
"Nora I don't think of Jaune like that, thank you very much." The pout Rin was giving her was really cute, she couldn't help but tease her. She opened the bottle of water and started drinking it, trying to end the conversation here.
"Then you don't mind if I take him right?" My what a glorious spit take, the look of surprise on her face with a slight blush was priceless. She turned her head away and looked at the ground.
"Nora please." holding her laughter in she prepared to give the final attack.
"Don't worry we can share him."
"Nora!"
Looking at her bright red face Nora laughed. Who knew that was what it took to get Rin flustered, she always has that cool mask no matter what because of her semblance, it was nice to see her show emotions. She needed to thank Jaune for that. I'm sure he is also having fun wherever he is.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!" I scream in fear, dodging from a stretching arm that was too long to be normal. Turning around and looking at something that would probably forever haunt my dreams if not for Gamers Mind.
I still remember, taking hours to make the strength and weaknesses of my Grimm, looking through hundreds of webs and obscure myths for the best monsters. Modifying them to accommodate in a Grimm form, there is one I will never forget making. The first of its generation, the first true Monster I had created for my game.
The Nuckelavee.
Derived from Orcadian Mythology, it's a demon that combines both human and horse elements, the smallest measuring one and a half meters in height with two meters in length, the biggest measuring eight meters in height with twelve meters in length. It's known in the myths for being a bloodthirsty demon, who will stop at nothing to spill the blood of their victims.
This one looked its meaner angrier bulkier older brother, measuring about three maybe four meters in height, completely black with red marking running all over its body, its upper human body containing horns, the waist somehow fusing together with the body of a black warhorse. Filled to the brim with muscles, in its back many weapons from past battles were stuck, its red eyes shining with fury.
Yeah, let's go back a bit.
There I was making myself useful by killing Grimms and opening the path for the few survivors still outside the safe houses. I had just killed an Ursa Minor when suddenly-

Fuck, do I look bad.
Standing up from the wreckage of the roof, I turned towards the Nucklavee just in time to see its arm stretch much more than physically possible grabbing a nearby Hunter and smashing them against the floor, again and again, I saw how the Hunters body glowed up with a blue aura around it, before shattering like glass, the next slam to the floor was much worse than the other, leaving only a stain of blood on the floor. All the other hunters were just as shocked as me, throwing everything they had at the monster, but it just swiped one of its stretched arms and pushed back most of the hunters destroying a nearby house. Alright then, what the hell am I going up against?
Warning! Warning!=== Boss incoming, Elder Nuckelavee [Monster of Ruins], brace yourself!
Elder Nuckelavee
Level: ?
HP: 27500/27500 MP: 0
Yeah, no.
I don't know what happened but somehow knowing it was being watched, looked straight at me. I held myself from shivering when it roared and began running.
Placing one hundred stat points in DEX and the rest in VIT and STR, I hope to god is enough to make me survive. I'm extremely grateful for my high INT and WIS cause a plan is already forming inside my head. Sheating Crocea, I need as little air resistance as possible if I want to get this right.
Jumping out of the way of a large hand, I barely balanced my body at this new speed, stopping myself from running headfirst into the wall of another house, I'm not used to fighting at such high speed, but I can probably figure it out as I go. Much better future than being splashed into the wall by the angry horse-man.
Twisting my body out of the way from another hand, I kick the ground rolling in between their legs confusing the Grimm, leaving from behind I barely dodge the buck off it, the strength alone had cracked the floor and created a crater where it hit.
Running away from it, I needed to take this thing as far away from the other Hunters and civilians as possible, there weren't many hunters currently in this town that could fight one-o-one against an Elder. I can barely hear their voices telling me they will bring reinforcements.
Well, let's hope I survive to see them.
I have less than a thousand health, if that thing hits me again, I'm done for it. Sidestepping another hand the beast behind me roars in anger, probably mad I haven't already died. Peaking a bit to see it, I instantly regret it from the look of pure hatred and fury in both faces of the Grimm.
Fuck! Where is the Deus ex Machina when you need it?!
Looks like when you want something done, you do it yourself. Without stopping I jump in the air a bit spinning to look at the monster. Charging both Mana Arrows and MSB right at its face, trying to somehow slow it down or else the plan will fail.
It didn't even flinch, throwing its arm wide blocking and breaking most of the projectiles, the only wounds were the scratches on its arms, although I could see the black blood oozing off said scratches. They were insignificant to the beast, just another reason for its anger.
Cursing my unlucky stars, I once again dodge an arm, jumping to the side of a house kicking off it, and over the top of said house. Gods how I love Parkour. Wouldn't be able to do half the stuff I do if it wasn't for it.
That being said, I was at least able to elude it for the time being, and by then I will have the battlefield ready for the Grimm-
My thoughts were cut short when the house I just jumped over exploded outwards sending me flying, hitting the ground I felt s sharp plank of wood perforating my side, hurt like a bitch but hearing the same roar that has been annoying me for the past minutes I stand up or else it will hurt much more than a bitch.
Fuck. My health had moderately regenerated, but I was back below the thousand right now, running without looking back, Sense Danger flared, and only thanks to my last week's experiences was I able to dodge to the side. Grasping the wood that was still stuck in my torso I painfully rip it out and throw it with all I have towards the general direction of the Horse-Mans face in hopes of doing something.
I took one more step before the loudest roar I heard in my life assaulted my ears, I stumbled losing my balance and crashing on the ground rolling forward at great speeds before hitting the side of a building stopping my travel.
"AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!"
Oh shit.
Jaune Arc
The Gamer
Level: 35
HP: 140/4420 MP: 12800/18920
[Stunned]
I desperately need a skill to heal.
First thing I'm doing after surviving this shit. Goddammit, I hate Tuesdays.
Thanks to Gamers Body I can just stand back up after having my stomach punctured, looking down I realized there was blood, looks like I can still bleed but it closes incredibly fast for a normal person.
Staring at what made me fall in the first place, I see the Nuckelavee still screaming like a banshee, the stake of wood I had thrown is firmly embedded into its horse head, though not enough to do any lasting damages, juts to hurt like a bitch. My LUCK must have helped me here together with Firearms Mastery Otherwise there will be no way something like that would have hit him.
Taking the chance while it was distracted I slow my breathing and focus on my mana, channeling it through my body and forcing it to enhance my regeneration. It didn't have any results at first before the sound I was beginning to get used to clicked in my head.
Ping! The skill Heal has been created through continual use.
I immediately use five Skill Points to bring to a respectable level. Even if I would really like a good title or evolved skill for Healing, right now surviving takes priority.
Heal: Level 6- Low Professional
A skill used by many Medi-Hunters, Hunters with great knowledge in the healing arts to accelerate the regrowth of the cells in the human body through MP. It is said through legends that there were Huntsman proficient enough to restore entire limbs!
With the current level of skill, the User can only heal their HP.
- Heal 3200 HP
Cost: 500 MP
Can be used 3 times before 20-second cooldown
"Heal, Heal."
As I see my health bar completely restore from zero, I really need to sit down and think about all the useful skills I know of.
Alright! Completely healed I look towards the Grimm, it was currently grasping the wood and with a mighty roar ripped it off breaking on its grip soon afterward. The look it was giving me would have been enough to leave a grown man shitting his pants. But not me! Gamers Mind for the fucking win. Observe!
Elder Nuckelavee
Level: ?
HP: 26500/27500 MP: 0
Wow, that did less damage than what I was hoping for!
Gulping down my fear, I unsheathe Crocea and shift Telluris into its shield form. Right now my best bet is somehow hurt it and then book it towards my place in mind. Only through fighting in that territory will I have the slightest chance of winning, I need it to b distracted, and I might have some idea of what can help. Alright then, time to test if the Arc skill is as great as the system makes it out to be!
Rushing towards the beast with all my speed I deflect a strong blow from the Grimm, its arm harshly hitting the ground not a meter away from me. My arm shaking from even touching the limb, right now I am close enough!
"Sword Dance!"
Disappearing from the Grimm field of vision, I reappear behind it a slash wound soon opening on the horse's back, it gave a strong cry in pain.
Luck check passed
The Grimm tried to kick me but I wasn't there anymore, now above its head slashing through its torso, disappearing again just to appear in another unlikely place continuously slashing as much as I could! This is the skill that made Julius Arc known as the strongest Warrior in history! A skill only reserved by the ones carrying the blood of Arcs!
Luck check failed
Ending my attack I grit my teeth at the pain that shoots through my body, even if it is a very strong skill, my body is pushed to the maximum limits it can take and it hurts like holy hell, not only that but it takes 40% of my original HP, I am really glad I leveled it up with skill points or else it would have been a pain in the ass to only be able to use it once. Skidding to a stop I look at my handwork.
Luck Checks passed= 3
Total Damage Dealt = -3075 HP
Final Damage Dealt = 3*-3075 = -9225 HP
"EAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Oum damn! I didn't have time to dodge before an arm shot out and smashed me against a house. Feeling like something inside me broke, I feel the blood rushing past my mouth, oh this hurts a lot. Muttering through bloody lips I was able to heal.
"H-Heal."
Feeling my body heal I resist the urge to throw up, there were definitely internal injuries in my body but they healed now, the problem is the blood that is not exactly were it should be, and I'm still being held by the demon.
Yeah, it's definitely Tuesday.
That was when an arrow flew at speeds not meant for it, stabbing itself deeply in the Humanoids shoulder, the Nuckelavee didn't seem so concerned just giving a low growl before suddenly the arrow exploded, the beast gave a shriek of pain probably the first time it felt the agony of blowing up from the inside.
Looking at its shoulder, there was now a crude gap where its shoulder once was. Not only that but it let me go while it was distracted from the pain.
Turning around ready to thank the one who saved me, I stop and stare in disbelief at my saviour.
Ren?!
No wait, this man had older features than Ren even older than my first life's Ren, being about 6'0 in height, he had long black greying hair going down his back, brown almost black pupils, a slight Chinese mustache on his face and just like Ren completely stoic. He was wearing a dark green, diagonally buttoned, long sleeve tailcoat. With red and grey trimming in spirals around it.
Well hello there reinforcements.
In his hands a large black bow was still poised in the launching motion and a quiver filled with arrows strapped on his back. Taking his eye off the Grimm he gave me a glance "Are you Jaune?"
Lie Ron
The Falcon
Level: ?
Huh, that must be Rin's dad. He looks like a carbon copy of Ren but older. He wasn't in my game, but I guess Rin wouldn't exist if his dad didn't as well. Looks like there will be many new characters I have never seen in this game playthrough.
"Y-yes I-I am Jaune." Beautifully done Jaune, stutter a bit more and he will surely fall head over heels for you.
He simply raises an eyebrow and this time looked me up and down, for some reason I feel like he is searching for a different reason, and not to see if I was Jaune Arc. Like he was analyzing if I was good enough for something, but he had nothing to worry about, I can take care of myself in a fight!
"I see, I suppose I must thank you for taking care of my children." He bows his head a little to me, which unnerves me! This man had the charisma of Royalty, he should not bow to someone like me!
"Nonononono! No need to bow please! They are my friends, and I'll do anything to protect them" I say bashfully, to have a man like him bow to me it's really embarrassing! He raises his head at me, his expression never once changing before a smile graced his face.
Ping! You have earned +5 RP towards Lie Ron for being a great friend towards his children and protecting them from danger.
"I see, then my children have a great friend." Aaaaah this is so embarrassing! Pleased stop with the compliments, I don't know how to deal with them!
A deep howl shakes us out of our trance, almost making me thankful, glancing at the Grimm I couldn't help but pale at what I saw. He was steaming, like his whole body was steaming, and his black body was now filled with blood-red lines running all over it, and that is all kind of bad news.
"We need to go, now!" Spinning in place I launch as many mana arrows and MSB at the demon as I can, before turning tail and running. Ron while confused trusted the urgency in my voice. Launching a few more arrows, the arrows that once easily hurt the flesh of the Demon now not even being able to draw blood.
There was also another reason why elders were such a big deal in the Hierarchy of Grimms. Once they reach level 250, they gain a unique Race skill, by consuming a lot more stamina than usual they can enter a state called Ether State. A state which gives the Grimm a great boost towards all of its physical stats, but the problem is that their body is not meant to work like this, and so it overworks burning itself from the inside slowly killing the Grimm without them noticing.
Sense Danger flaring I try to dodge to the side, but the Grimm is much faster now, two hands appeared and there was no way of escaping the dark claws. Then I felt something grab my arm and push me out of the way, being carried like this gave me a déjà vu feeling of when Roland picked me up and moved at super speed.
"Mr Lie, please take us to the old WatchTower!" He dodged out of the way of another attack before stoically looking at me with a stoic gaze, I only understand thanks to my many years of being with Ren, is a questioning one. Staring at him in the eyes I tell him.
"I have a plan."
He gave me the barest nods, before taking out a distinctive stone from a pouch on his waist, it was completely red and seemed like a cut gem.
Deeming this place good enough I see Ron kneel take a deep breath and concentrate. Wondering what he was doing, I was cut off when his hand shined and created a brown orb of pure mana, I was entranced by it, this is the first time someone used mana like me! He then placed the red stone on the Mana ball causing it to go red.
The orb then condensed and turned into a cylinder, soon taking the shape of an arrow, but it was very different than normal arrows. Firstly, it was huge, by that I mean about 4'9 feet in length, it was also pulsating with energy, crackling red electricity at random instances. He took another deep breath sweat running down his face and I could see that Ron was somehow channeling mana into the arrow, he looked at the beast galloping towards us and let the string go.
The Nuckelavee went up in flames.
Like, holy fuck.
As soon as the arrow struck the target, it exploded in a fiery inferno, completely covering the Grimm and accelerating the process of natural decay within the Grimm. That had to do some lasting damage!
He picked me up like a toddler and started to run towards the watchtower. Oi! Please don't pick me up like a child!
"If you could do that, why didn't you do it at the start?" Still looking at the now far away fire I couldn't turn away from it, it was a strange kind of beauty.
"Huff…huff…It uses… too much…" I could barely hear him anymore, truly looking at Ron now I realize the fatigue in his face, the guy has probably been fighting since the start of the invasion with no breaks for four hours, he must be exhausted. Whatever that attack was, it probably used up a lot of his MP.
"We are here." I was so stuck in my own mind, I hadn't noticed how fast we were moving, I really need to get a technique that incorporates speed into my fighting style. As of now, I can barely use my full DEX when fighting. Only when using Sword Dance can I use my full speed.
Both of us were interrupted by the now familiar roar of anger from the horseman demon. Honestly, does it know nothing more than scream in rage?
"What is your plan young man?"
"Alright Mister, listen closely." As I start to explain my plan his face went from stoic to shock to complete disbelief, before looking at me like I was crazy.
Can you believe him? Me? Crazy?!
I am distorted, not crazy
Standing up and running in the direction where I could conduct my plan, this time with the Grimm half-blind by the fire we were able to keep a share distance between us, also being able to regenerate enough health so I'm no immediately dead if someone breathes in my general direction.
Looking at the huge old watchtower, I made sure I was the only one here, or else it will defeat the purpose of running all the way to this place. Using Airslash to breaking the watchtower further, I only needed a few more and phase two would be completed. Phase one, Ron will distract the Nuckelavee from me until I finish with phase two, then phase three can start.
Of course, have you ever heard of the phrase 'No plan survives contact with the enemy'? Because as the Nuckelavee smashed through another house, not at all distracted by Ron who by the way was send flying landing in a crumpled mess right beside me, the Demon then shook his head to get his bearings right and looked straight at me, I was starting to understand why people said that. Fuck I needed more time!
Whatever, I'll improvise.
It started to run at me with incredible speed, every step it took shaking the earth beneath it, causing tremors that are only present in natural disasters. And an idea came into my head.
Maybe I am a bit crazy after all.
Watching the charging demon speed towards me I hold myself from running away, behind me the broken watchtower sways with every step the Grimm takes. Almost there…
20 meters
My body was tensed ready for the course of action. Almost there…
10 meters
The Nucklavee released a thunderous roar and launched one of its arms at me. Clenching my teeth, I open Telluris and block it, redirecting the attack to the side, my arm trembling from the strength of the attack. Almost there…
5 meters
It was almost on top of me, I could virtually sense the hatred and anger about to run me over. Almost there..!
1 meter
NOW!
Praying to God this works I turn around and pump as much of my Mana into Telluris as I can and turn towards the huge watchtower while also facing Ron, the Nuckelavee almost touching my back, and shout.
"Art is an explosion! AEGIS!"
And then there was light.
The last shockwaves couldn't compare with this one. My world was blinded by the glowing Mana, also sending me flying back right into the stomach of an unsuspecting Nuckelavee. Ignoring the pain that was coursing through my body, I grab the Grimm and with all the strength I twist it, so it was now facing the falling watchtower. The only thing I was thankful for was that the shockwave was able to launch Ron far away enough to not be hit by the huge building.
Huh, Grimms can look shocked. Who could have known?
My train of thought is extinguished when the tower fell on top of both of us. There was one thing I was thankful for though.
At least I got laid!
Ping! Through dangerous means, the user has gained the skill Aura
Across Renmant two immortals jumped out of their seats, sensing a slight spike of magic in the distance. What the?
And that is it for today boys and girls. Honestly, this is the first one made up of completely combat and holy hell you have no idea how difficult it was to put combat into words. The best option is to think of this like a shonen anime and imagine their fights.
Well, what did you all though? If you guys didn't notice, something that I plan on doing is maturing the Main Characters much faster than their Canon counterparts. And Jaune will be there to help!
Also, surprise surprise, Ren didn't lose his parents! Or is it Rin now?
Thank you all for reading, See ya next time!
