That evening after Sahl got an idea of how a normal day on the ship worked she helped Master with his paperwork. Finally he stood up and said that they had time to try her on unarmed combat before dinner. She followed him out of the office and down to the gym. Once there she found that there was troopers again, all of them absorbed in their own work outs and was relieved that they were leaving her and her Master alone this time. Little did she know that this was because Cody had quietly gotten them to agree not to openly watch the Jedi when Sahl was practicing.

As Cody himself was sparring with Boil at the time the troops also knew not to get on his bad side at the moment. The two Jedi stopped to watch the Commander and his opponent working. Only when Cody emerged victorious that Sahl finally had to let go of a burst of applause which quickly died a self conscious death. "Commander," Masters voice quickly filed the silence that had threatened, "as you have beaten one opponent perhaps you could try my Padawan?"

What? "Master, I have never been permitted to spar with any anyone who is not a Jedi." Her voice was quiet with a question in it as if seeing wither this was a test she had to pass.

Cody crossed his arms across his sweaty shirt, "And why is that?"

Swallowing, "The Dark Woman thought it was unworthy of our rank, whereas I think it is unfair to use the force against someone who cannot." It seemed as if she was trying very hard to avoid hurting any feelings while also not lying to them.

Master Kenobi nodded slightly, "That can be true, while there are times we must use every advantage for the good."

The kid wrinkled her nose, "I do not understand that Master."

Deciding it was time Cody stepped forward, "I have sparred with your Master and a few other Jedi so I am well aware of that advantage and can cope with it."

Seeing he meant it Sahl nodded and shrugged off the cloak, folding it and putting it down gently before removing her boots and placing them neatly beside it. Seeing their confusion, "As I was never allowed to wear boots it is better to fight without them at first. Then as I gain their understanding I will switch to that."

Nodding Cody answered, "Sounds well organized." Then stepping back as she entered the circle of chairs, "The first goal will be to get the other out of the circle then we will move on to another. Understand?" A nod and they began.

Cody was thrown from the circle in about fifteen seconds as Sahl had grabbed his arm when he tried to tackle her, hit her back, and used to legs with his own momentum to fling him from it. A few of the troopers laughed as he got back up seeing she was already on her feet waiting for him to come back. Giving each of the offenders his Officers glare they returned to what they were doing and he headed into the circle again. Both he and Sahl fell into their potions before they continued.
