Jeez, here we are folks, Chapter 14. Now on to the reviews.
We're skipping over Timbuk1's because for some reason he thinks the review section of fanfics are a place for his infantile drama. I even, got a message saying he didn't realize my reviews are for… Reviews of a story and not to slander another person.
J. Buchanan: I'll look into this. One thing I forgot to mention in my notes for Chapter 13, is I wanted to get the timelines back in synch. You may have noticed one group was ahead of the other. Having looked at the typos, I cannot believe that I, Zoinks, and a spell checker missed them.
Mysterious Mister M & Alexpv22: Agreed, this take on St. Lincoln is one I've long wanted to bring up.
qazse: Luna isn't Lincoln's guardian. That's more of a fanon that's gotten so popular many think it's canon. Nevermind they don't interact much outside of one episode in the first season. Sad really I'd love more episodes of them instead of yet another Clincoln McLoud episode.
DreadedCandiru2: Always? I don't remember Lincoln saying it even once.
jster1983: Umm yeah not sure of your point here.
cabgrant: Interesting, what of Lucy, Lola, and Luan who are trying to be better people?
Alexpv22: Truth! I actually had an interesting talk with a fan who said if Lincoln's gender was different they'd need to rewrite the show because it's okay to treat a boy this way, but if the show did the same thing to a girl it would be disgusting. Yet Lincoln seems to be on track to be the Butters Scotch or the Meg Griffen of this show.
DJTimmer: Thanks! As for Lynn's actions, I feel it's a combination of arrogance, not thinking things through, and not really having faced any consequences for her actions. Examples include NSL and Cereal Offender.
Guest: Really now? The pills are totally unrealistic for a show that includes time travel, force fields, sapient trash piles, anti-gravity devices, and altering human DNA, yet the pills are where you draw the line? Admittedly the pills were supposed to have been explored more in-depth in the Lisa and Leni Files but Zoinks81 has retired from writing in the fandom so that won't be finished now. The pills will be better explored in the reboot of this series. As for how Luna is acting being out of character. Brawl, NSL, Garage Banned, Loudx4 House just to name a few examples of Luna being a jerk to Lincoln.
Now we left Haiku going off to confront Lincoln in our last chapter, so let's see what goes down, shall we?
~*~*~*~Lincoln~*~*~*~
"Say ahhhh," Kat said with a grin spreading across her face. The dark-haired girl held a spoon up to his mouth.
"Ahhh," Lincoln wasn't sure how to take the hand-feeding deal, he wasn't going to complain. The soup was hot and tasty. Lily was looking at him with her head tilted to one side.
"You okay?" Skyla asked the small girl.
"Just… Trying to get used to seeing my Dearest Brother with his tooth fixed," Lily replied, her Nurse's hat fell off as she tilted her head even more.
"You'll break your neck doing that," Lincoln said putting the hat back on her head, "of course I'm getting used to it myself," Lincoln ran his tongue along his teeth, the swelling from the Novicane wearing off finally.
"Will I really!?" Lily said straightening her posture as soon as the words registered.
"No, just messing with you," Lincoln said as ruffled the side of her head.
"Keep it up, I know your tickle spots, mister!" Lily warned, "aaaand you talk in your sleep, plus I read your diary with Lola."
Skyla, Jade, and Kat's heads all whipped around to the small girl, Skyla was the first to speak, "and here you seemed so innocent and sweet…"
Lily shrugged, "no one's perfect."
Lincoln chuckled, "she's turning into some scary hybrid of Rarity from MLP, myself and Lola. Besides Lola read my diary to everyone," Lincoln sighed and shook his head.
Lily's eyes narrowed as she crossed her arms, "And, you've read my diary," she said.
"I have?" Lincoln asked as he scratched his cheek.
"He has!?" Jade, Kat, and Skyla asked their jaws collectively dropping.
"Don't you remember praising all my art?" Lily said as her arms dropped.
"Wait that sketchbook is your diary?" Lincoln said then nodded, the sketchbook had been a gift, he'd saw it open and looked over the pictures, the tots' artwork was good, about the quality of Dilbert cartoons, very impressive given her age.
"Of course, not like I can write much besides my name and some simple sentences," Lily said, shaking her head, she loved him but her brother could be slow to figure things out at times.
Lincoln went to apologize then there was a knock at the door.
~*~*~*~Haiku~*~*~*~
Haiku struggled to keep her temper in check, Lincoln better have a good explanation for vanishing on Lucy without telling her, she'd heard how selfish he could be but this? She glared daggers at the door as she knocked, and it seemed to open on its own normally she'd have been impressed but the sight before her filled her with rage.
"Well," Haiku glided past Lily and stopped at Lincoln's feet. She looked down at him lifting her chin, her eyes narrowed as her skin seemed to flush with a pinkish tint. Haiku's eyes narrowed and she took a deep breath as she spoke, "someone is comfortable. Your sister is crying her eyes out while you lay here being hand feed. I'd heard you could be selfish but this? You…"
"So what!?" Kat snapped making Haiku turn around and fix a glare on Kat, most people would wilt under that sound but Kat just bared her teeth and for a second let out a low rumble and hissed between her teeth before speaking, "they kicked him out you know," her voice was low, "they have a fight protocol going on, he was told not to come back and his phone has been blocked. So what if he's somewhere else enjoying himself?"
Haiku hesitated and blinked when she felt Jordan's hand on her arm, "I know Skyla and Kat," Jordan said, "for what it's worth I've never known either of them to lie."
Haiku nodded and looked down at Lincoln, "it is, a lot for me to believe. If this is true," Haiku was silent for a time before sighing, "I remember her telling me about this protocol then a couple of months later how they'd used it and you kept messing it up."
"No one ever told me about it," Lincoln said looking at her as he bit his lips.
"I think you were the only one they never told," Lily said shaking her head.
"Lucy tell you she hit me during it?" Lincoln asked, "she, Lola, and Lynn jumped on me at once." He sighed at that memory.
"She what!?" Haiku's jaw dropped then she clenched her teeth, "why?" Haiku's eyes were wide with shock, she'd only heard Lucy speak highly of Lincoln, he seemed to be someone that loved her more than anyone else in the world.
"There was a Monster Truck Rally on Pay Per View, had to do some work to get the money for it, then a mass of favors to get the TV to myself, the moment I reached for the remote…" Lincoln sighed and looked down, "all three of them sailed on me."
"Right now," Skyla added looking from Haiku to Jordan,
"You are a good friend Haiku," Jordan said.
Haiku looked at Jordan, "How so? I am standing aside and allowing this cruel trick to be played on Lucy."
Jordan nodded, "because being a friend doesn't mean you are someone's enabler, it means sometimes having to do what has to be done."
"Personally I don't like it either," Lincoln spoke up, "it seems to me that we should be talking things out not pulling tricks on each other, but, that's the way my family does things."
"Indeed," Haiku nodded then gave Lincoln an intense look leaning down and looking him over, "pardon but didn't you have a chipped tooth?"
"Ami fixed it this morning," Kat said, "she's the best."
"She has indeed done excellent work," Haiku nodded turning to the girls.
"Apologies for my behavior, I fear I let my affections override my common sense and forgot basic courtesy, I am Cassidy Pearson, but everyone calls me Haiku," the goth smiled.
"CASSIDY!?" Lincoln blinked.
"Has Lucy not told you?" Haiku said, getting a shake from Lincoln, "we shall speak of that dance more later, I believe I may need to have some words with young Lucy."
Turning back to the girls Haiku continued, "this little boy is Giles, my baby brother."
"I'm Kat!" The tall girl introduced myself, "now if you'll pardon me," She leaned down and grinned at Giles, "you are just the cutest little thing I have ever seen!" She pinched his cheeks and ruffled his hair.
"Katherine, that is not a toy," Skyla sighed.
"But… But… Smol Goth…" Kat replied.
Haiku gave a small smile at those words, "alas my brother, much like Lincoln has yet to embrace his inner darkness, I fear he may not have any within him."
"Ahhh I see Smol Emo?" Kat tilted her head.
"Never say that again…" Haiku had a look of utter terror on her face.
"My sister and Lucy aren't found of emos," Giles said, "the one time I tried dressed emo Haiku fainted.
"Really!?" Jordan took a double-take at those words.
"I did not faint!" Haiku stomped her foot, "I merely needed a nap… Immediately."
"On your bedroom floor?" Giles asked.
"I've seen you take naps under sofas, in corners, under beds and dressers," Haiku replied.
"I concede the point," Giles said.
"I've been there," Lincoln said, "tried going emo and Lucy stripped me naked in the living room."
"I heard about that," Haiku giggled.
"Naked!?" Skyla, Jordan, and Kat said in unison as they blushed, for some reason Jordan blushing at the thought of Lincoln naked made Haiku uneasy the goth wondered why.
"Right in the living room, burned the clothing and salted the Earth where she did it, came back after watching the fire burn and wrapped me in a blanket as I was getting redressed and spent the rest of the day rocking me back and forth whispering it's okay," Lincoln said.
Haiku nodded, "I do not think she had ever been so worried about you till that day."
"Let me get this straight, Lynn threats me with a bat, Lisa harvests my organs, Lori almost kills me over making a girl cry and it's emo clothing that worried her!?" Lincoln asked.
Haiku nodded sheepishly.
"Your sisters sound scary," Giles said.
"Don't worry," Jordan smiled at him, "I'll protect you."
"Me too little cutie," Kat promised, "they mess with the Kat, they get the claws," she swiped at the air with one hand getting a round of giggles.
"So you really think you are scary?" Haiku asked trying not to laugh.
"You don't want to see her angry believe it or not," Skyla said, "although I do love driving her batty, I know better than to go too far."
"Is that so," Haiku just couldn't see it.
"Trust me, she is," Jordan said, "you should see her during dodge ball."
"I shall take your word for it, perhaps I'll come and witness a game. So then what's the plan once Lincoln recovers?" Haiku turned to the others.
"Well," Skyla said, "I was thinking of a walking tour of the area now that the storm is over, would you like to join us?"
"I'd be delighted, Giles? Jordan?" Haiku turned to her brother and new friend.
"Sure!" Jordan said, "I love this place and always enjoy seeing it."
"Anything you girls wanna do," Giles chirped.
"Okay it's agreed then," Skyla said, "soon as Lincoln recovers it's time for you to see my world," Skyla walked over and kissed Lincoln's nose.
