"Chapter 14
The next day the agents were back in school, they sat in their history class with Mr Jeffries waiting for the call from HQ, the CHERUBs would be seeing where their technical support was coming from, and that meant they would be in HQ this afternoon. Mr Jeffries was still on edge from the attack last term, which meant it was very easy to slip out of class, they almost made it to HQ when they were cornered by Mrs King. Rose, Carrie and Oscar managed to get around the corner without being seen, but Jack was stuck "Jack Tomasz!" she shouted and Jack stopped and turned around to face the deputy head, "Just where are you going?" she asked him, Jack shrugged and stayed silent, "Aren't you supposed to be with Mr Jeffries?" she asked him, Jack nodded, "I was going to the library to get a book for my coursework Miss" he answered. Jack thought he was for sure going to be busted and taken back to class, but luckily for him, a fight had just broken out in the art classroom down the hall, and Mrs King let Jack go to sort out the fight.

"Both teams of agents were in full conversation when Jack arrived. "Honestly, I've never been so thankful for the K's in my life" he said as he pulled up a chair and joined the conversation, he found himself sitting next to James, who wasn't too happy about it. Frank explained the ins and outs of the mission from MI9's point of view, and where they were starting, then the alarm went off again, Frank rolled his eyes and Rose flicked to the CCTV, Mrs King and Mr Jeffries were at the door./p
"Oh no, Frank I kind of got into something on the way here" he said, Frank shook his head and headed for the lift,
l""So we're at St Hopes right now?" John Jones asked, Rose nodded, "so are the blindfolds still necessary?" Rose nodded again, "Sorry, you might know where we are, but you still don't know how to get here, that remains classified." "What just like the thing sat beside me?" James asked, he still wasn't on bored with Jack being a part of this team, "Yeah," Jack replied, "you don't have high enough security clearance to know anything more about me, and if you talk, you're dead meat mate" he laughed./p
Rose took over from Frank as he had to attend to caretaker duties, Stark came down the lift carrying a rabbit about half an hour later, Oscar took it out of the cage and put it in the hutch behind the desk. Stark came over to see how the mission was progressing, he was impressed by the connection of Brian Evans, and ordered Rose and Kerry to find out as much as they could about him, James joined them to get away from Jack. "Is no one going to mention the rabbit?" John Jones asked, the CHERUBs were thinking the same thing, they found it odd that everyone was just okay with a rabbit being down in HQ. "That's General Flopsy, he was at a vets appointment" Carrie said nonchalantly and went back to work. Lauren and Jack were looking at the old SKUL bases, they were looking through photos and videos taken by MI9 clean up teams, "so this is you guys?" she asked, Jack nodded. He took a photograph and stood up, "Sorry Lauren, I just need to check something" he said as he ran to the back of the base, Lauren followed him and saw him using a monocle and was looking at the photograph, he slammed the monocle down on the table, "Oscar where's the sham machine?" he shouted, "Archive, use the spy pod" Oscar shouted back, Lauren watched as Jack dug the spy pod out of his pocket and ran it over the photograph. She was shocked at just how much technology the MI9 team has access to, and she wondered why it wasn't available to them, she didn't know what a spy pod was, or what a sham machine was, but Jack had just found something with it./p
Jack ran back to the main section of the base, "I've got something" the two teams turned around and Jack placed the monocle, the spy pod and the photograph on the table. "What's wrong with this photo?" he asked, both teams looked at the photo, but none could see what Jack could. "Okay, Rose, take this now look at it" Rose caught the monocle Jack through, she saw the official MI9 seal on the photograph, but it didn't look right. She studied it for a moment before reaching for the spy pod and running the sham machine over it. "It's a fake? How did we get a fake photograph?" she asked. Stark took the three items off her and also studied them. The CHERUB agents looked confused, "We have certain security measures that someone has managed to fake," Rose explained, the CHERUBs nodded,
"That's not all" Stark added, "look at the documents on the desk" he passed the items to Carrie and Oscar, "without the sham machine, they're SKUL documents, with it, they're documents on Help Earth" Stark nodded. "We need those documents" Oscar said. Everyone nodded, they could only see logos, but not the details on the documents. "Jack, Rose, we'll go to the evidence archive later,"/p
k returned and was filled in on the document, he spoke privately with John Jones for a few moments and when they returned they filled the CHERUBs in "You guys are going to go over the warehouse where Baelish was busted. You'll take Carrie and Oscar with you. Just ignore the bloodstains" Frank said. The CHERUBS looked concerned, and Frank could see this, he sighed and pulled up files on the screen. "I apologise for what you're going to see, but you need to know what KORPS are capable of" he flicked through the documents, showing photos and videos of warehouse, including the body camera footage from Frank and Stella as they entered the warehouse for the first time. Kyle put his hand over his mouth, he looked sick as the camera focused in on the Grandmasters head, Lauren turned into her brother away from the screen as they showed footage from the bridge looking down at the mess of the warehouse floor. The video footage kept going, and they saw Jack at work finding the rest of the Grandmasters body. Frank turned off the video footage before it focused in on the horror that they would see. "Documents have been removed, as have the bodies, but everything else remains." Frank said solemnly, "I'm sorry, but you need to know what they're capable of'/p
"The two teams waited until they were sure that the school was empty before moving out of HQ. Rose, Jack and Stark were headed out, but Frank shouted Jack back, "I'll meet you at the car," he said to Stark, "Whats up boss?" he asked Frank as Stark and Rose left. Frank sat down and asked Jack to sit down too, "I want to know you're thoughts" he said as he handed Jack a piece of paper, Jack studied the form, but shook his head, "You don't want to give it ago?" Frank asked him, Jack shook his head, "no, I don't get it"/p
""do you want me to read it?" Frank asked him, Jack shook his head, "No, I know what it says, why would you want to do this?" Jack asked, "Because you deserve better than what you've got now." Frank said, "You need to be with people like you, Oscar is at the safe house, Carrie and Rose have their parents, do you not find it difficult hiding two big secrets from the Vaughn's?" Jack nodded, "I've run out of excuses," Jack said, Frank patted him on the back as the both stood up to leave, "Take a while, think about it." Jack nodded, he had a lot to think about, Frank had just offered him a forever home, and a family with him, he'd be a fool to turn it down./p
Jack, Stark and Rose headed to the archives, where they found the original file, Stark took it back to HQ and dismissed the two agents for the day. "You want to head to the warehouse?" Rose asked Jack, he shook his head, "I can't go back there Rose, you only saw photos and videos of the Grandmasters body, I can't step foot in there, he was a horrible man, but no one deserved to go out like that." Jack said./p

"At the warehouse the CHERUB agents were seeing a glimpse of what the MI High team saw when they entered the warehouse for the first time. As the doors opened, the agents saw the bloody mess of the main section. The place had been turned upside down, tables were upside down, there was pieces of equipment everywhere and the floor was covered in bloodstains. Oscar took them on a tour of the building, showing them what each room was used for, when they got to the genetics lab, there was little left, bits and pieces of old equipment was scattered on the floor, and the CHERUB agents were confused./p
""What was this place?" John Jones asked, they clearly hadn't read the briefings in full, "genetics lab" Oscar said, "what it was used for it classified" James rolled his eyes, he was sick of hearing the phrase 'it's classified' Carrie saw this and shook her head, "trust me, you really don't want to know, we're saving you from this" James scoffed and Oscar jumped in "fine." He said angrily, "There are people like Jack out there in the world, when this machine is full and working, people can take those people and it strips them of their wolves, pulls out part of their DNA, making them suffer a slow and agonising death over the course of a month until the next full moon. It can also be used to transplant that DNA in to someone like you and I, they would suffer painfully, and they would feel everything, their organs shutting down and they would loose their minds before they also died a painful death." He walked out of the room angrily, John Jones followed him and pulled him into one of the conference rooms./p
"I am sick of him" Oscar said, John Jones shook his head, "he's a good agent, let's just do this and get out of here." Oscar nodded and rejoined the others./p

"The next day the agents went back to school, Lauren was still suffering from what they had seen in the warehouse, CHERUB agents were trained to fight the most dangerous villains, but she was still only 13 and the amount of blood still left hit home at just how dangerous this mission could be, so many people had died already, she couldn't help thinking that she might be the next person. Jack was sat in form with the rest of the team and Mr Jeffries, he couldn't stop thinking about the offer Frank had made. He couldn't sit and listen to Mr Jeffries drone on about mock exams, and he definitely didn't want to sit through another 2 hours with him talking about the Spanish Inquisition, so when Jeffries back was turned, he took the opportunity and slipped out of the classroom. He went down to HQ expecting to find Frank, but he wasn't there, Jack didn't want to wander the school looking for him, so he simply stayed in HQ waiting for him to arrive, whilst he was there he logged into the MI9 system and began to look into Segolia. He knew there wouldn't be any information that connected to the mission, the people that linked Segolia and SKUL were dead, Segolia had been shut down by MI9, but he was curious. He accessed their secure files and found a list of every wolfblood in Britain. He found himself, Jana, Rhydian, and The Smiths, and next to their names was a link. Curious, he clicked on it which led to classified files. Jack shook his head and went to find the code breaker, when he finally got into the files, he realised that he needed to go and look for Frank immediately. Segolia had somehow implanted tackers into them./p
"Jack ran through the corridors looking for Frank, he ducked under the window of his classroom and hoped that no one saw him, and luckily he found Frank as he turned the next corner. "You need to come with me now" Jack said as he started to head back to HQ, Frank was confused, but followed him anyway. Jack pulled up the files on them and showed Frank what he found. Frank was confused, and he told him to go back to school, and not say a word until he had spoken to Stark and the head of MI9. Jack grudgingly obliged and headed back to history./p

"Frank told Jack to get the wolfbloods together on their own after school, so he found Maddy at lunch asked her to tell her parents to expect Frank at 3. "What's going on Jack?" Maddy asked as she put the phone down, Jack shook his head, "all I can say is whitewood is screwing us over from beyond the grave" Maddy was confused but she just accepted it./p

"At 3.30, Jack told Oscar, Carrie and Rose he and Frank would be busy, and not to come down to HQ, but they needed to go and see John Jones, they trusted Jack and went straight to the CHERUBs house. Jack then went to the dark room and met the wolfbloods. "so where are my parents?" Maddy asked, Jack took a blindfold out of his pocket "You're just going to have to trust me" he said. Maddy nodded and the three of them put on their blindfolds, linked arms and went with Jack. "just in here" he said as they got to the caretakers storeroom. "Can we take these off yet?" Jana asked, "Not yet, soon, I'm sorry for this" Jack said, the other wolfbloods didn't get chance to ask what he was sorry for before they felt the earth fall from their feet. They heard the lift doors open and Jack took the blindfolds off them. Maddy saw her parents and was instantly calmer, but Jana, who knew nothing of MI9 was still on guard. "where are we?" Rhydian asked as he looked around, "Welcome to MI9" Frank said, Rhydian was impressed as he continued to look around, Jana made her way over to General Flopsy before retreating back to Maddy./p

""So why have we been brought here?" Maddy asked, "Jack said something about Dr Whitewood." Frank nodded, "last month, we shut down a base used by a criminal organisation and they were working with Segolia on this," he put a picture of the machine up on the screen, "this machine, if it were still functional, could be used to take away your wolves, amongst other things. This was created by Dr Whitewood." Mr and Mrs Smith looked shocked, they trusted Dr Whitewood, and then she created this machine that would be the end of them. "But that's not why were here is it? Whitewood is dead right?" Rhydian asked, Frank nodded,/p
""I was going through Segolia's files, when MI9 shut them down we took everything, and were all on a list," Jack put up the list on the screens, "This list shows every wolfblood, wild or tame in Britain, and next to our names, is this" Jack changed to the next slide which showed 6 dots on top of each other, as he zoomed out, St Hopes and Stoneybridge was clearly visible. "somehow, they've been able to track us. How I don't know. You guys," he said pointed to Maddy and her parents, "have lived here all of your lives, me, Rhydian and Jana, we've all come at different times, I work here, your parents have been here once before, and you three have never step foot in here before tonight. The only thing all of us have in common, is Dr Whitewood. She's the only person that connects us all." Maddy's parents looked scared, Frank took to comfort them,/p""this system no longer works, Jack was able to get into it to turn it on for this demonstration, but it's not been active in over a year. We need to find those trackers" Frank said, and everyone was in agreement./p
