A/N: Happy Christmas Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful time eating, drinking, reading, whatever you do on your delightful holidays! Here's another chapter update for today as my Christmas Present to you all! Enjoy!

As Slughorn's Christmas party approaches, students rush about to find a last minute date or partner for the night. Genevieve was already set for the night as her date would be Ronald Weasley, whom she's quite proud to call her boyfriend. While Hermione, in order to spite Ron, decided to go with Cormac McLaggen. The young Slytherin girl wore an elegant green dress aligned with dazzling silver jewels which flowed down to the floor whereas her partner's suit was a simple black and white tux with a green tie. Once Genevieve was finished with her preparations, she went down to the Slytherin common room where Draco Malfoy awaited. If one didn't know better, they might have thought that Draco was actually her date.

"You going somewhere?" she questioned, noticed that Draco was in his black tux rather than his down gown.

"You look nice." he replied, ignoring her question.

"Thank you…" Genevieve smiled, a rather genuine smile for a change. "I'll be off."

It was weird why Genevieve felt compelled to say that she was leaving, it wasn't as if he were her husband and she was leaving the house, but she did it nonetheless.

"Are you...happy?" Draco questioned suddenly, right before Genevieve exited out. The Slytherin girl turned around before flashing a smile, the smile he once saw before everything in the Wizarding World separated them.

"Very.."

This was all Draco needed, it was all he needed to hear. He gave her a tired smile back before nodding his head. "I'm glad."

Genevieve thought not much of what he said and joined Ron Weasley as they made their way to Slughorn's Christmas Party. The young Slytherin girl fell more and more in love with Ron each second she was with him. In all honesty, he was probably the handsomest man she's ever met as of the moment. His every word and every action was ingrained in her mind and she did her utmost best to remember what he liked and disliked.

Once arriving at the door, both Cormac McLaggen and Hermione arrived arm in arm.

"You went with him?!" Ron gasped out in disbelief. "Ugh. You…."

Not wanting Ron to get upset at Hermione and start a fight, Genevieve dragged Ron inside quickly and ushered him to the food table.

"Can you believe her? With McLaggen of all people!" Ron hissed, pointing a finger at McLaggen with his face twisted in disgust.

Genevieve didn't understand why the male was so upset, but she hated when he got so heated especially towards his friends. "Ron, it's okay. Who knows maybe she actually likes him. He certainly digs her."

"Oh shut it. We both know she doesn't like him." Ron retorted angrily, plating himself a few scones. "She's just trying to get back at me."

Genevieve continued to nod her head in agreement while plating the male more food. "Indeed, indeed. Come on Ronald, let's just enjoy ourselves okay?"

Ron sighed, planting a soft kiss on the female's cheek while looking in Hermione's direction, a smirk formed on his lips the moment he caught the other looking at me. "Kiss me and I'll feel better."

Genevieve chuckled softly, "Alright, anything to make you happy." Genevieve glanced over at the teacher's table to make sure no one was looking before pecking the boy on his lips for a brief second. If there was one thing she loved, it was the way he was so gentle and caring when kissing, always asking her before doing anything.

The party had gone smoothly for the most part in which everyone danced and drank to their fill. Genevieve and Ron stood together whereas Harry, Hermione and Luna stayed together, far away from the couple but still close enough to see them in their line of sight. Suddenly the door slammed open, causing everyone to jolt at the sudden intrusion.

"Hands off you squib!"

"Don't you know how expensive this suit is?!"

From the far back, Genevieve could see Draco Malfoy being dragged in by Filch.

"Dra..go…n?" she gasped.

"Dragon?" Ron questioned, his hands tightening around the female's.

"I found this boy lurking around the corridors, he claims to have been invited to your party." Filch announced.

Genevieve and Ron made their way to the front of the room to see what was going on, but in actuality this was a test from Ron to Genevieve.

"No…" Slughorn replied. "I hadn't invited to my party. Perhaps he's someone's date?"

With that Genevieve wanted to raise her hand to tell Slughorn that he was her date, so that Draco wouldn't get in trouble but Draco looked at her and shook his head.

"Fine Fine! I was Gate Crashing, alright?" Draco yelled out, thrashing in Filch's hands. His eyes never left the young girl, it was as if there were nobody in the room except them.

"What do you think he's doing here?" Ron questioned, whispering into Genevieve's ear.

Draco frowned at the sight, his eyes traveling downwards to their interlocked hands. "Let go of me! I'll leave, I don't even want to be here a second longer."

"I'm not sure…" Genevieve whispered back, knowing fully well that the only reason why Draco would be on the seventh floor would be for the Vanishing Cabinet.

"You're not lying to me are you?" Ron asked, turning her to face him.

However, Genevieve couldn't focus properly, she wanted to see what was going to happen to Draco.

"Why aren't you looking at me Vie?"

Genevieve returned her attention back onto the red-haired boy, smiling softly as she replied, "Sorry, I was just curious what was going to happen that's all. What were you saying?"

"Nothing."

"You're too impatient!"

"What's it to you!"

"I made the unbreakable vow, to protect you. I promised your mother!"

Severus Snape looked out the window of the deserted classroom before returning his attention back on the blonde-haired male. Draco looked haggard, his eyes showed no signs of life and his complexion was paler than the winter snow.

"You'll only make things worse." Snape hissed in anger. "You're not only putting yourself in danger, but you'll put her in danger as well. Just let me help you!"

Draco shoved his head in between his hands, ruffling his hairs in frustration, "Just stay out of my way. I'm not going to be that same coward."

Severus sighed, knowing very well what it felt to want and protect a woman who you loved but didn't love you back. "Let me help you Draco."

"No! I'll prove myself to Him! Once I do, I'll be able to secure her safety."

Snape shook his head in disapproval, "What about your safety?"

"Who cares about my safety!" Draco thrashed out, unable to contain his emotions. "You have no idea what it feels like. Losing her is worse than dying."

"I very well do…"

After the party, Genevieve and Ron didn't want to go back to the common rooms yet, so decided to take a stroll around the castle.

"Are you cold?" Ron asked, taking off the blazer and placing it over Genevieve's shoulders gently, gaining a smile from the other.

"Thank you." she whispered. Inside, her heart thumped wildly while the pit of her stomach churned from nervousness.

Ron glanced at the female next to him, noticing a red flush grow on the apples of her cheeks.

"Thank you for letting me borrow the tux." Ron mumbled, clearing his throat nervously. "Did it cost a lot?"

Genevieve shook her head, "No no. I couldn't afford something too expensive."

"Ah. I thought as the Young Mistress of the House of Black, you'd be purchasing something expensive." he laughed, trying to make a joke.

"I'm not exactly a Young Mistress." she chuckled softly, joking back. "But I did find some pocket change in my room, enough for our clothing."

Ron stared at Genevieve's blue eyes and if he hadn't done this to spite his friends, perhaps he'd truly come to find a new side to Genevieve.

"You know Ron…" the Slytherin female started. "I've liked you since I first met you."

Ron choked on air at her sudden confession, scooting a few centimeters away from her. "You what?"

Leaning close to the male, Genevieve's face was only a paper thin centimeter away before she whispered, "Thank you for giving me a chance to love you openly." With that, she let her lips graze on Ron's, loving every moment of it. Footsteps could be heard as well as soft sobbing, suddenly Harry and Hermione came into view where the couple were standing. Ron's eyes narrowed at his two best friends before a hand made its way onto the back of Genevieve's head. The two's lips were locked and melted into a passionate kiss.

"Ronald Weasley!" Hermione shrieked in disgust.

Genevieve pushed the male away in embarrassment, her face redder than that of a tomato. She dug her head into the crook of Ron's neck, trying to hide her face from her two ex-friends. Ron gritted his teeth in annoyance before hugging the female back.

"If you don't mind?"

Hermione laughed sarcastically, swallowing back the tears that threatened to fall as she dragged Harry with her. Harry, who didn't know what to do, but to simply follow Hermione.

"Ron...maybe you should just apologize." Genevieve mumbled, breaking away from the boy once Harry and Hermione left.

"You too?" he snapped.

"No no...I'm sure it was their fault. But...you three are best friends. I don't like how you're fighting with them."

Ron turned on his heel and stormed away from the girl, leaving her dumbfounded by herself.

"Ron! I'm sorry!" she called out, saddened that Ron was upset at her. "Ronald!"

From afar, Draco watched with his fists clenched, hating how the guy she liked had treated her so awfully. He wished that the person kissing her was him, he wished the one she looked at was him and most importantly, he wished the person she loved was him.
