Chapter 7: The Leader of the Gara Droids Returns

At the hospital.

Emmy was resting on her bed. But it wasn't a good rest. All she could think of was her princess being held hostage. But then she heard a faint voice outside of her room. Her eyes widened and turned to the door. It sounded familiar and it was getting closer. The door opened and it was Princess Erza.

Princess Erza: Emmy!?

Emmy: Princess Erza!

Erza ran and hugged her. Emmy wrapped her one arm around her. Each of them were relieved that the other was okay as tears of joy shed from their eyes.

Emmy: Your highness are you alright? Did they harm you? How did you get out?

Princess Erza: Easy Emmy, I'm fine. Gien saved me.

Emmy: Wh-What? Him?

Princess Erza: Yes, he got me out and killed Queen Arachnid.

Emmy: He did what?

Queen Mia: That is what she has told me. King Aron and I are holding an award ceramony for him tonight. This is a great victory for us.

Princess Erza: Will you be coming?

Emmy: I wish I would, but the doctor says I still need time to bed rest here. But don't worry, once I'm healed I'll be right at your side again as before.

Princess Erza: Alright, just rest and don't worry about me. That is an order from the princess.

Emmy: ( chuckles) As you wish your highness.

Later that night.

At Thra's palace, both Kingdoms were united. Queen Mia and King Aron stood side by side and in between them was a case with gold medal that had their Goddess symbol which was a carving of a the bow and arrow. Standing with Mia was Erza and with Aron Ginrai who had a cast around his arm and Tranza. Gien was on the lower level, although he did not look too excited about this and just wanted to finish the portal. Professor Yugami stood with the audience as they watched.

King Aron: Gien.

Gien looked up to him.

King Aron: You've been with us for a short period of time, but you have done a great deed.

Queen Mia: You've risked your life and brought my daughter back.

King Aron: And you have killed the Garma Queen. That is something I coulnd't do years ago. This is a great victory for us and it is thanks to you.

The audience were cheering for him. But Gien looked at the ground looking annoyed and was angered. They saw him as a hero. But no, he is no hero. He doesn't want to be one. This was just wasting his time. The two of them stepped down the stairs to present to him his medal, but suddenly he stepped back and raised his hand at them.

Gien: STOP!

His voiced echoed in the room as everyone stoppd cheering. Aron and Mia looked at him confused until he spoke.

Gien: I cannot except this.

King Aron: W-Why would you say that?

Gien: I do not deserve this award.

Queen Mia: This award goes to brave soldiers who have done the unthinkable, you can't pass on this.

Gien: Would the unthinkable be putting your princess in danger?

People in the room gasped of what he said.

Queen Mia: You did what?

Gien: In order to get what I needed, It involved playing the Garma, which involved putting the princess in harms way.

Erza looked at him. Why is he telling them this? Is he trying to be honest, but why is he wording like he was trying to hurt her.

Gien: I used her as bait to get what I needed.

Everyone kept talking about him, wondering if he's a traitor.

Queen Mia: You...you put my daughter at risk just to achieve your own goals.

King Aron: Mia, I know this sounds hard, but in the end it was all a plan to kill Arachnid. You're daughter is alive and well.

Gien: Then I guess you wouldn't mind I told the Garma of the secret emergency passage here.

King Aron eye's widened and turned to him.

King Aron: You did what?!

Gien: The Garma now know about the secret passage to the palaces.

King Aron: You told them of the secret passage!?

Gien: I gave them the idea, but not the exact location.

King Aron: Why though?

Gien: When manipulating the enemy, you must know everything you need to wipe them out.

King Aron: But you still put our kingdoms at risk. Their queen might be dead, but I know they will think of a new plan to avenge her. You've angered them and put us at risk. They might try and find it one day.

Gien: I know.

King Aron: You sound as if you don't care.

Gien: I don't.

King Aron angered raised his sword and pointed it at his throat. Erza and Yugami both look worried for him. Gien just stares at him not showing any emotion. Aron glared at him for a minute, but he puts his sword away and just looked at him with a stern face.

King Aron: How much longer until your portal is done.

Gien: I should be done by the end of the night.

King Aron: Than finish it and leave this world...forever.

Gien: Hmph, as you wish your majesty.

Erza gasped, Gien turned his back and walked away with Yugami back to the lab. Once they made it, Yugami shuts the door and grabs Gien by his shoulders as he faces him in the eyes.

Professor Yugami: What the hell was that?!

Gien: What do you mean?

Professor Yugami: You made yourself sound like your a criminal.

Gien: I am one.

Professor Yugami: But you were just about to be rewarded with the United Morag Medal of Honor. You were about to viewed as a hero.

Gien: That's the problem, I am no hero! I don't want to be one. You expect me, a derranged pychotic conquere and killer to be rewarded with something like that?

Professor Yugami: But you told me that you didn't know about the passage until after the Princess confirmed to you.

Gien: And I used that knowledge to sound like I was snooping around.

Professor Yugami: I don't get it, if you didn't want any of this, than why did you did what you did? Why didn't you join the Garma or just leave her highness to die.

Gien: I didn't trust them completely. How do I know, they won't kill me if they found me no longer useful. I would definitly die if they found out I was lying. I didn't kill that bug because she was evil. I killed her because she reminded me of someone else I hate. As for the princess well...

Gien stopped what he was saying and looked away.

Professor Yugami: What?

Gien: ( sighs) If I let her die, it would be like letting my diamond die. That day, when I thought she was killed, a part of me died. I felt that, I failed. I looked up to her, I loved her. She inspired me and I wanted to help her anyway I could. Erza was a lot like her. Letting her die would just put me through that pain again. That's why I saved her.

Professor Yugami: I... I don't understand you sometimes.

Gien: Don't you see Yugami? My only goal is to get back to my world and finish what I started. I got here by accident and gettting back to my world was my only objective, not to solve this world's problems. I am no hero from any world. I am the leader of the Gara Droids. I am Gien! Now... shall we finish the portal. I got the crystal.

Professor Yugami: ( groans) Yes, we shall.

Meanwhile at the Garma Hive.

Pierre and Sandaru were making their way to Queen Arachnid's bed room after the whole Gien poisoning her. Once they entered, they saw the other Garma were present and Queen Arachnid was lying on her bed, wheezing looking pale, sick and weak.

Sandaru: Nalkren ku lav-li majesty? (How is her majesty?)

Serizawa: Olk so mir. Jiak saib't gimb an antidote ve kigiji zejar. Lavor doesn't have much ekko majat ve shok. ( Not so good. I can't find an antidote to this poison. She doens't have much time left to live.)

Manmaruba: Bow! Kneel!

The Garma bowed to her.

Queen Arachnid: ( whispering) F...F...Foo..Fools...

They looked up hearing what she said.

Manmaruba: My queen, nalkra ku khe? ( What is it?)

Queen Arachnid sat up angered at them.

Queen Arachnid: FOOLS! I...I...I... I am still...qu..queen...I...ACK! AAAAH!

Queen Arachnid coughed out more blood on her covers and was gagging again, until finally she fell back onto her bed. The Garma surrouned her withs sad looks.

Jin: Ku lavor... (Is she...)

Serizawa tried feeling her pulse. But nothing.

Serizawa: She's dead.

Pierre: Oh nalkren tragic. ( Oh how tragic.)

Sandaru: My queen.

Later.

( Que Skeksis Funeral)

The Garma were having a funeral for Queen Arachnid. Manmaruba, Sandaru, Pierre, and Jin were carrying her open casket as Zarab, Valtan and Serizawa followed them while Voffa was playing a dark and sinister song on his pipe organ.

They brought her casket to the center of the throne room as they gathered in a circle. Manmaruba approached her corpse and removed her crown, taking it away as he got back to his spot on the circle. Two slave girls were bring out a large pot with hot steam coming out. Each Garma took out a hot stone from it. They lifted the stone up in the air.

Manmaruba: Kulknej mabaj kigiji tor lat, our queen. ( We hold this for you, our queen.)

With that they threw their hot stones at her corpse, setting it on fire.

Garma: Kulknej mabaj tor ul Garma! (We hold for the Garma!)

Meanwhile

After making a few more adjustments the portal, it was finally finished. Yugami was on the computor trying to pinpoint Gien's dimension and planet.

Gien: It's done, Yugami, have you found it yet?

Professor Yugami: I think I have, look at the screen.

Gien looked at the monitors.

Professor Yugami: According to this, it says that universe we're in is known 626 universe and the one your looking for is our neighbor the 616 universe.

Gien: Is it mine?

Professor Yugami: As I click on it, it shows some planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars...

Gien: Yes that's it! Earth.

Professor Yugami: But there's more. You came here almost two weeks ago, but according to your last transport, you've been gone for a month.

Gien: What, you mean to tell me that time flows differently here.

Proffessor Yugami: Yes.

Gien: Oh I wonder what mess Bomber has made. Can you pinpoint me at the location of my wrecked ship?

Professor Yugami: Hmmm, I don't know where that is. I don't know where on Earth I can take you too.

Gien: Let me handle this.

Gien got onto the computor. He looked at the map and the area did look familiar. He saw the remains of his wrecked ship where the Cluster was.

Gien: Excellent. At long last I'm going home and...

He opened his chest and took out the small cacoon.

Gien: With this Semimaru I stole from the Garma, I think it'll be useful.

Professor Yugami: So this is it huh?

Gien looks at Yugami as he puts away the cacoon, as the two of them shook hands.

Gien: Well Yugami, it was a pleasure working with you. I must admit out of all the peasents I met in this world, you are one of the only two I can tolerate with. I thank you for fixing me and helping me get back.

Professor Yugami: I should say the same for you Gien, even though you are the most crazy person I've ever met.

Gien: Why not come with me. I could use a brilliant mind like you in my army, especially with my second in command dead.

Professor Yugami: With all due respect I am needed here. Plus I can't leave my wife and daughter here.

Gien: Hmph, suit yourself.

Professor Yugami activated the transdimensional portal. Gien looked at it. It was a large blue portal and he was anxious to get back. He stepped forward until suddenly, Princess Erza barged in.

Princess Erza: Gien!

Gien eyes widened and turned around. Erza was running towards him.

Gien: Princess?

Princess Erza: You're leaving without saying goodbye?

Gien: I didn't think your mother or Aron would care at this point.

Princess Erza: But I do, why did you say those things?

Gien: I just... if I accepted it, they would want me to stay and help. They would probably rely on me too much. But I can't stay here. I have more important things to finish back in my world. Whatever else is happening here, I'm sorry but you have to deal with it on your own.

Princess Erza: But to do that, you had to have them turn against you?

Gien: Yes, but it's fine.

Princess Erza: But, is this really it? This is goodbye?

Gien: Yes and... I haven't said this in a while but, thank you Princess for showing me kindness that I was not shown for years.

Princess Erza: Will I ever see you again?

Gien: I...I don't know. I don't even know if I can come back here again. Even if I found a way to, I'm not really welcome here anymore.

Princess Erza: Well, when I'm queen one day I'll make sure you're pardoned and welcomed back. I'll come find you and... maybe make you my head scientist.

Gien looked at her a bit surprised and somewhat flattered.

Princess Erza: I have something for you.

Erza gives him a gold bracelt with her name and puts it on his wrist.

Princess Erza: To remember me by.

Gien: Uh, er thank you, but I don't have anything for you.

Princess Erza: It's okay, I'll always remember you Gien.

Princess Erza gives him a hug goodbye. It felt warm, Gien hasn't felt something like this since he was a gem, when he would occasionally get a hug from his diamond. He looked down at her and hugged her back.

Princess Erza: I'll miss you Gien.

Gien: I...I know.

Gien lets go of her and walks to the portal. He gives them one last look before he fully entered. He was in the blue portal walking towards it until he saw a light at the end. He kept going until he made to the other side, Earth. Once he was there, he looked around and to the first person he saw was Ronaldo right next to him.

Ronaldo: Whoa, it's a real Kraang.

Gien: What are you looking at?!

Ronaldo: Uh, are you a Kraang?

Gien: Get lost or I'll vaporize you!

Ronaldo runs away leaving him alone. Gien looked around at his surroundings and it all looked familiar. After that detour he made it. It was finally time to put what just happened behind and focuse on the present. Kill the Cyrstal Gems, reclaim Pink Diamond along with his army and settle scores with Bomber and destroy or rule the planet, whichever he likes.

Gien: ( silent chuckles) At last... I am back.

Author's Note: And that is the end of A Different Universe. As I said before I wanted to make this to fill in the gap on Gien's wereabouts and a chance to introduce the world of Morag, Princess Erza, Professor Yugami and the Garma. I know this isn't my best and I don't blame you if you think this is kinda rushed, but I really wanted to finish Advent of the Gara Droids, but bring closure to it. I know I didn't fully utalize some characters like Ginrai and Tranza, but the reason being was because this story wasn't about them. If your wondering if this kind of story will have some relavence to the main continuity of my Steven Universe story or if any these characters will meet Steven and the others, they will and I have better plans to use Ginrai and Tranza because they will have bigger roles in the next, but that will be a story for another day. I do hope you enjoyed this and stay tuned for next time, because now we will finish Advent of the Gara Droids and jump to the final arc.
