"I'm so excited to be home!" Andy said as they pulled up to the house.
"I know you are." He said as he put the car in park and turned it off.
She quickly grabbed her bag and jumped out the car.
"Robert hurry! I don't have my key." She said.
"Ok ok ok." He said walking over to the door. "Be patient."
When he got the door open Andy quickly rushed in and sat her bag down.
"Omg look how big he is." Andy said as Bentley ran over to see her.
"Andy it's only been three days. He hasn't grown that much." He said with a laugh.
"Whatever. Let's go to sleep. I'm tired" she said heading up the stairs, being followed by Bentley.
By the time Robert got up the stairs, Andy was already in bed with Bentley curled up on the edge of the bed, by her stomach.
"You know. Soon he will be to big to sleep in the bed with us." he said getting comfortable in bed.
"Robert, this bed is huge, he will be able to sleep with us when his is older." she said scooting closer to him. "Ugh. This is going to be the longest week ever."
"I know but right now we should go to sleep." he said rubbing her arm.
"I'm only going to sleep because I'm tired. Not because you said to." she said.
"I know." he said. "I love you." When he didn't get a response he moved a little to see if she was still awake but she had fallen asleep.
~A few hours later~
It was now 1 pm and Robert was the first one awake. He decide to order a pizza because he remembered that Andy said she has been craving pizza. He let Bentley out in the backyard after he ordered and decided to go watch some tv before the food arrived. It had been about 15-20 minutes when Robert felt Andy come downstairs and cuddle up next to him on the couch.
"I ordered us a pizza. It should be here soon." he said. There was a knock at the door. "That must be the pizza." he said standing up and getting his wallet. "Well you're not pizza." he said opening the door.
"Nope!" the person said.
"Andy you have visitors." he said bringing the guest inside the house.
"Omg! Hey Maya. Hey Vic." she said, standing and giving them both hugs.
"Do you two want to stay for lunch. I ordered two pizzas because they were having a buy one, get one free deal." He asked.
"Sure!" They both said.
"So how long are you out for?" Vic asked.
"1 week and then I'm on desk duty." She said as they sat on the couch.
"I planned the gender reveal in three weeks." Maya said.
"Omg really!" Andy said with a huge smile.
"Yep. I just need you guys to do the invites and then we are all ready to go." She said.
"How far along are you now?" Vic asked.
"I think I'm 16 close to 17 weeks." She said.
"Wow you have to do desk duty for like 5 months." Maya said.
"Well more like 4 because Robert and I decided that I would start staying home after I reached 8 1/2 months." She said.
"Do you have a bump yet?" Vic asked.
"I do but it's just a little one." She said.
"I think the pizzas here." Robert said hearing the knock on the door.
"Ok I will go get things ready." She said waking towards the kitchen. "Do either of you want a glass of wine?"
"No we actually have shift in about an hour." Maya said.
"Ok." She said grabbing for cups and filling them with water.
They all ate and talked until Vic and Maya has to go get ready for their 24 hours shift.
"Want to go for a swim?" Robert asked as she finished putting up the last plate.
"Sure." She said.
"I don't know which one to wear. They all make me look big." She said looking through her swimsuit drawer.
"Wear your pink one." He said, pulling out a pair of black swim trunks.
"The bikini. Are you crazy." She said.
"No. I'm serious. It makes you look gorgeous." He said.
"Fine but only if you don't splash me when we get in." She said.
"I think I can do that." He said.
They got dressed and headed outside. Andy grabbed both their phones off the counter just in case anyone called and also grabbed two towels. Robert was already in the pool when she came outside.
She sat on the side of the pool to dip her feet in.
"That water is so cold." She said.
"It's not that cold once you've been in it for a while." He said, swimming over to where she was sitting. "I'll hold you." He held out his hand for her.
"Ok but you better not drop me in. If you do it won't end well Robert Sullivan." She said, sliding into his arms.
They sat in the pool for about an hour before Andy dried off and went and got some watermelon out of the fridge. She sat in one of the lounge chairs and ate watermelon while sunbathing. When Robert got out he had noticed that she had fallen asleep so he opened up the umbrella just to make sure she doesn't get sunburnt. He heard Bentley barking from inside, he ignored it thinking it was just a squirrel until he got a call.
R- Hey mom. How are you.
K- I would be better if you would come and let me in the house but besides that I'm good.
R- ok I'll be there in a second.
He hung up the phone. He put Bentley outside with Andy and went to open the door. He was confused. Why did his mom stop by without him knowing she was coming.
"Hey mom." He said opening the door, hugging her.
"Hello Robert." She said. "Where's Andy?"
"She's asleep outback. I had just got out of the pool when you called." He said.
"It's fine. Do you guys have a dog now? I thought I heard one barking" She asked.
"Oh yeah. I'm sorry I knew I forgot to tell you something the last time you called. We actually got a German Shepherd a few months ago, his name is Bentley."he said walking into the kitchen. "Do you want some water before we go outside?"
"Sure." She said.
"I'll be right back. I'm going to go change and then go wake Andy up." He said.
"Ok." She said.
While Robert was upstairs changing Andy walked into the house. Bentley rushes to the kitchen because he heard noise and started barking.
"Bentley what are you barking at?" Andy said rounding the corner. "Oh hello Katlin."
"Hey Andy." She said.
"How far along are you now? It's been a while since we talked."
"Yeah it has. I'm almost 17 weeks." She said. "Do you know where Robert is?"
"He went to-"
"I'm right here." He said entering the kitchen.
"Ok well I'll be back down in a few. I think I'm going to go change." She said heading out of the kitchen.
"I'm guessing Bentley likes Andy more than you." His mother said.
"Why would you think that?" He asked confused.
"Because ever since she walked in the house he has been by her side." She said.
"No he just missed her because she hasn't been her the last few days." He said.
"Why?" She asked.
"Well...she had a fall at work and she bruised her spine. They doctors kept her over night to make sure the pain wouldn't get to bad and to monitor the baby. Everything is fine and she has to stay home for a week so I am going to stay with her." He said.
"If you guys need any help this week just let me know." she said.
"I will mom." he said.
"Would you like to stay over for dinner Katlin?" Andy asked walking back into the kitchen.
"I would love to." she said.
"Can dad come tonight or is he working late?" he asked.
"I will have to ask him. Let me call him real quick." she said. She stepped out into the living room to call her husband.
"Did you know she was coming?" Andy asked. "Nope. I was getting out of the pool when she called and said she was at the door." he said. "What do you want to eat for dinner."
"Can you grill some steaks?" she suggested. "Your dad will come after work. He gets off at 5:30." Katlin said.
"Ok. Andy I think steaks are a great idea. Mom?" he said.
"I'm good with steak." she said.
"I'll start the baked potatoes." she said going and grabbing 4 from the pantry.
~2 hours later~
Robert had just took the steaks off of the grill when there was a knock on the door. "I got it." Andy said.
"Hello Andy." Robert's dad said as she opened the door.
"Hi Edward." she said as she closed the door behind them.
"Hi dad." Robert said giving his dad a hug.
"So whats for dinner?" he asked.
"I actually just took the steaks off the grill and I think Andy made bake potatoes and macaroni." he said.
"Do you guys want to eat in here or on the patio?" Andy asked.
"I say lets eat outside." his mom said.
Katlin and Edward were saying there goodbyes and was about to head out the door when Andy said, "Be on the lookout for an invitation in the mail."
"What for?" Katlin asked.
"Mom if we told you it wouldn't be a surprise." Robert said.
They all stood and chat for a few minutes before they finally left.
"Omg its already 10 o'clock." Andy said putting the dishes in the dishwasher.
"Yep. Now lets go to bed." he said.
They got upstairs and changed. Robert took his t-shirt off and laughed as he saw Andy quickly pick it up and put it on.
"What? I like your warm shirts. I'm cold and it makes me warm. Plus it smells nice." she said laying down.
Robert settled in to bed, pulling Andy as close as he could, before he said, "Goodnight baby. I love you."
"I love you too Rob." She said, placing a soft kiss on his lips.
With that they fell asleep, cuddled up in each other's warm embrace.
