CHAPTER EIGHT: ALL FOR YOU
(AGNARR'S POV)
I didn't say a word. I didn't move a muscle. I remained on my knees, in my office, holding Iduna, who cuddled so close to me for comfort. Her willingness to be even closer to me caused my heart to beat loud and quick. Holding her in my arms was getting to me. Conceal. Don't feel. Don't let it show. She's warm and soft.
"Your Majesty," Gerda's voice gasped at my door. I turned to see her shocked by the mess I made in the library. "One of your friends explained what happened. Is Iduna - ? Is she - ?"
"I- I don't know," I replied honestly as I looked down at Iduna who was still cuddled as close as humanly possible with her face buried in my chest. The mere mention of the incident from Gerda caused Iduna to tense up slightly in my arms. One of my hands on her back felt that her heart was still beating loud and quick. She's still shaken. How do I help her?
One look from me and Gerda nodded, "The maids and I will clean up the library. You should take her to the kitchen for some hot chocolate." The last part she whispered.
I nodded with a small grateful smile before looking down at Iduna's head and stroked her head gently, "Iduna." She moved her head to look up at me. Her eyes were red and her cheeks were stained. I wanted to keep holding her, but had to exercise self-control and forced myself to pull away from her. "Follow me," I instructed after I stood and began walking away.
I waited at the door until I noticed her following me. I proceeded to the kitchen, occasionally glancing at her over my shoulder. Her whole defiant and proud demeanor was completely replaced with a scared and timid behavior as she wrapped her arms around herself anxiously and looked down the whole time.
I guided her to a chair and pushed it closer to the table her shoulders were tense and guarded. I looked over at Olina, "Some hot chocolate, Olina, if you please."
(IDUNA'S POV)
Agnarr and I watched Olina has she went to work at the stove. I couldn't see what the cook was doing at the stove but I didn't have long to wait long before the smiling cook produced two cups of hot chocolate. "Thank you," I muttered when Olina placed her's in front of me. My shaky hands lifted it to me lips for a taste. My eyes widened slightly from the taste as I was reminded of the hot chocolate my mother would make for the three of us during cold winters in Harmon. I found it comforting.
"I take it you like it?" Agnarr asked. I looked and saw him studying my face as he took a sip from his cup. I caught myself staring at his lips as he licked them to remove the hot chocolate. I looked away and nodded before taking another sip. "Do you know what would make it even better? Marshmallows. Olina," Agnarr said and Olina brought a small bowl for them. Agnarr added a few and handed me the bowl. I reached in with hesitation and grabbed a few. He must have sensed my unease around him when I hesitated, because his light smile faded and he casually rose from the chair and distanced himself from me.
Before I could say anything, Kai entered and said to Agnarr, "The Ice Master is here, Your Majesty."
I instantly put it together. "Emil's father?" I asked before tensing up. Agnarr placed his hand on my shoulder to halt me from leaving my chair.
"I'll handle this," Agnarr replied before gulping his cup of hot chocolate and handing it to Olina as he walked out with a regal pose.
I had so many mixed feelings about Agnarr. I knew what kind of king he really was, but he helped me in a vague way. I couldn't guess his intentions. I wasn't sure if I could trust what Gerda said, but wanted to. Olina came over and sat next to me, "I know what you are feeling. You may not realize this but…he really does have your best interests at heart. You can trust me when I say that Agnarr is good. You are not the only one with a traumatic past filled with pain and suffering."
What does she mean by that? I looked at Olina confused and she immediately became guarded and guilty. "What do you mean by that?" I asked.
Olina immediately stood and avoided eye contact. "Forget what I said. I said too much. Enjoy your hot chocolate and let me know if I can get you anything. I live to serve." She gave a bow of her head and walked back over to distract herself by getting busy with dishes and cleaning the already clean kitchen. I could tell from Olina's pale face that she was scared of revealing something very important and was serious about not revealing it to me. It made me want to know all the more.
I couldn't help but fixate on her words as I walked down the hall heading for dungeon where my cell awaited me. I just wanted to be alone for now. I had to pass the Great Hall in order to get to the door that led down into the dungeons. I heard talking and remembered Emil's father, the Ice Master, was visiting with Agnarr. The door wasn't closed all the way, so I got close to sneak a peek inside. Agnarr was standing, facing his throne, while the Ice Master was on his knees behind him, desperate to make peace with Agnarr over the stupidity of his ignorant son.
"I don't wish to talk about Emil. He has already faced the consequences for his actions. I would like to discuss the issue of money that Emil brought up," Agnarr turned to look down at the Ice Master. "I believe I have a solution. You may rise. Due to economic issues, how about opening up to trading goods?"
The Ice Master stood and seemed intrigued by this idea. "An interesting idea, Your Highness," he complimented.
"I can't take credit for that. Someone smarter than I brought that up recently," Agnarr waved it off and confessed with humble modesty. I blushed from his praise and couldn't help but lean forward more so I could see and hear more.
"Sounds like a promising individual," the Ice Master laughed, "I'll incorporate that immediately. It could just be the solution to establish better relations with the people of Arendelle."
"She is," Agnarr replied. My heart began to race more, but it froze when he noticed me. I panicked and ran off. I quickly ran down into the dungeons to hide. I heard his footsteps and his voice calling out to me, "Iduna?"
I ran to the room at the end of the row of cell doors and hid inside. I peeked through the crack in the door and saw him look in my direction. I panicked and tripped on something. The noise gave me away, because I could hear his footsteps quicken over and a light got closer, indicating he had grabbed a torch off the wall so he could see.
He smiled when he entered and found me on the floor. "Iduna, why did you run away like that?" His face became very pale when he saw the contents of the room. I looked and was horrified when I saw tools for torturing hanging all over the walls. "What- What is this place?" I asked. I looked at Agnarr when I noticed the torch's light on the walls shaking. He was extremely terrified. I stood and got in front of him, concerned, because I never saw him afraid before. His attention returned to me when I repeated, "Agnarr."
He quickly guided me out by the wrist and closed the door. As soon as it was closed. His nerves seemed to settle some but he was still rattled. Finally, he spoke up. "Never. Enter. This. Room. Again."
"Why? What is that place?" I pressed.
Agnarr quickly turned towards me with the torch and a regal scowl that was even more terrifying with the flames contrasting sharply with the shadows of his face. "NEVER AGAIN!" his angry voice echoed in the cold dungeon and made me recoil slightly. He instantly showed regret in his now softened face. He walked past me and put the torch back in its place on the wall. I walked to my cell, watching him walk up the stair to the palace above.
I noticed him taking one last glance at me as I went back into my cell. Evening came and Gerda visited my cell. I quickly sat up, "Gerda? Is there something I need to do?"
"No, child," Gerda said. I couldn't help but feel concerned seeing that there was obviously a lot on Gerda's mind as she entered and sat next to me. I was confused by her silence.
"Visiting me because you miss me that much?" I asked with a smile. That caused Gerda to smile and laugh lightly. She nodded slightly, "I do miss your company from time to time, but that's not why I'm here."
"Then why are you here?" I asked.
"It's about Agnarr. He's isolated himself in his office. I've only seen him that shaken once, when he was fourteen, shortly after he first met you," Gerda shared, but instantly looked like she regretted it and tried to excuse herself and leave. "I should go. I shouldn't be telling you this."
I quickly grabbed her hand, "Gerda, wait. Is this about that room and why he's so scared of that room? What is it? You have to tell me."
"I shouldn't. Forgive me, child, but he would be furious," Gerda tried to insist.
"GERDA, PLEASE," I pleaded urgently.
Gerda looked back down at me, "Come walk with me, dear. I want to show you something."
I followed her out to the royal garden, which breathtakingly beautiful with all its vibrant colors, but the atmosphere was sucked dry of its joy by Gerda's sorrow, which hung around the old maid like a tormenting demon. Finally, we stopped in front of a statue of the late King and Queen of Arendelle, Runeard and Rita. "This statue was erected after the king perished long ago. It was commissioned by the palace staff for the young prince who fell into despair hearing he was now alone. No one knows what became of Queen Rita. Any mention of her was forbidden by King Runeard and any possession of her's was locked away. As the years passed, I often see Agnarr out here watching his mother's statue. Sometimes he would speak to the statue and ask for advice."
I felt a great amount of sympathy for Agnarr now, but that didn't answer the important question. "What does this have to do with the room?" I pressed.
Gerda tensed, dreading to have to answer my question. She looked up at Queen Rita in the statue. "A mother's role in her child's life is so important, equally to that of the father. The father would teach his son how to work hard, how to be strong, but it was the mother's role to teach her child about love, mercy, and forgiveness. Agnarr never knew his mother. She disappeared shortly after he was born. So, it was up to the palace staff to try and fill the void as best as we could. His father didn't like how involvement one bit and accused us of only making his son weak."
I listened silently as she continued, "King Runeard raised Agnarr with cruel discipline and none of the love the young prince desperately needed. Whenever, Prince Agnarr disobeyed his father, King Runeard took him to that room and physically abused him."
My heart stopped beating. I couldn't process any of it. "How could a father be so cruel to his son?" I looked up to see Gerda with shocked eyes, looking at something behind them. She quickly bowed her head. I turned to see Agnarr.
"You had no right, Gerda," Agnarr's voice shook with anger.
"Your Majesty, please allow me to explain," Gerda shook with fearful reverence in an angry Agnarr's presence.
"Silence," Agnarr commanded and Gerda shrunk in fear.
I stepped in, feeling angry now. "Hey, don't talk that way to her!"
Gerda, with her head still bowed, urgently whispered, "Iduna, enough!"
I didn't listen and kept speaking against Agnarr, stepping closer, "I pressed her! She didn't want to say anything, but I pressed her. If you want to be furious with anyone, be furious with me! Don't take it out on Gerda! Only cowards do that!"
Agnarr stepped closer to me, "You would do well to be silent as well. I'm not in the mood for your disrespect for my title and your defiance, Iduna."
My scowl narrowed more as I stepped into his personal space and looked up at him in the eyes. "Or what? You going to hit me like a real man this time? I'm ready."
My boldness seemed to make his cold, regal demeanor crumble. He walked past me to the statue. Gerda took that as her cue to return inside, but halted me when I tried to follow. "No. You need to stay here with him. He may not know it but he needs you more than he knows." I watched Gerda return inside and hesitantly turned back to Agnarr before walking to his side.
Suddenly he started chuckling.
"What?" I asked.
"First, you call me a coward, then you challenge me to a fight. Good to have you back, Iduna," he replied with a smile. His eyes were focused on his mother's statue, so I shifted the conversation.
"Gerda shared things about the Queen. She sounds like an amazing woman," I said.
"I wish I knew my mother the way they did," he thought out loud.
"You are better off. My mother was my best friend and war took her from me. Every morning after I dream about her, I wake up only to be reminded that she's gone." Tears started to run down my cheeks, "Then life just breaks my heart all over again."
"Tell me about your mother," Agnarr said.
"What?" I asked, confused by his interest.
"Tell me about your parents. What were they like?" He repeated, turning towards me with a smile.
I wiped the tears from my face before sharing, "They always taught me to stand up for those in need. Mother once brought home a chocolate cake. I was only five at the time. Father and I had a strong dispute over who would get the last piece. I decked him so hard, I made his nose bleed. He was so proud of me that he started training me when I was eight."
Agnarr rubbed his lower face, "Since eight, huh? They trained you well."
"Father always wanted a son according to Mother, so when he saw how good I could punch, he jumped on the opportunity," I laughed.
"He raised you like a boy? Poor Iduna. You never got a chance, did you?" Agnarr laughed and teased.
I gave him a smile and hit his shoulder. "My childhood with my parents was perfect. I wouldn't trade one second of it for fancy dresses and tea parties- Whatever, spoiled noble daughters do here in Arendelle."
"Don't knock it till you tried it," Agnarr smiled. I gave him a look so he had to explain. "When I was little, Father had me visit with a noble's daughter ever so often. Her name was Victoria. Eventually, her father's work took them out of Norway. Looking back, I can see it was my father's attempt to grab more wealth and power by pairing me with a valuable trading partner's daughter."
"Saved from a life with a spoiled rich girl," I teased.
"Yeah. I guess I was," Agnarr smiled. We stared at each other for the longest minute until I jumped by the sound of nearby commotion.
"Ah, sounds like the off-duty soldiers are meeting to train. It's a requirement to ensure my men stay in shape. Don't want anyone getting soft, do we? You'll have to excuse me, Iduna. I have to go meet up with them," Agnarr said and walked past me towards the sound.
"Can I come with?" I asked eagerly and Agnarr turned to look at me. "My father WAS a soldier and my mother WAS a shield maiden."
"Very well," Agnarr smiled and gestured with his head, "Ladies, first."
I walked past him, "Well? Hurry up, King of Arendelle."
"Right behind you, my pet," Agnarr teased back.
His old nickname for me made me red with anger. "Shut up!" I yelled over my shoulder at him and got even angrier when I heard him chuckle. I quickened my pace to get away from him. Otherwise, he was going to lose some teeth. I cut through the bushes and froze when I saw myself surrounded by shirtless men. One smiled and approached me, "Well. Well. What do we have here?"
My heart began to race as he gracefully held my hand to his lips and gave it a peck. "My name is Thomas. What might your name be?"
"I-Iduna," I replied, but I didn't know why.
Another took my other hand to give it a peck, "Iduna. What a beautiful name for such a lovely young woman. Tell us, did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?"
I turned red. "Okay. You two can stop touching me now."
They chuckled. "Aw, what's wrong, Iduna?"
Out of pure instinct and reaction, I shut my eyes and threw several punches. I opened my eyes to see them several feet away, holding their faces. "Yep, you're Iduna alright. The king has told us all about you."
"Little Agnarr sure is lucky to have such a strong woman in his life," the other complimented.
"Excuse me. I don't belong to ANYONE. Especially that arrogant man who thinks he's God's gift to women. I would never-" I froze, seeing them all standing at attention suddenly. I then could feel Agnarr's regal presence. He covered me with a jacket- his jacket and whispered in my ear with his hands holding my shoulders and my upper arms. "Never say never, Iduna."
I turned to yell at him some more after he pulled away but was speechless when I saw him shirtless adjusting his hair by running one of his hands through it. "I believe it's combat training today, right?"
"SIR, YES, SIR!" the men all roared in unison. It was so loud, I was startled and jumped back against Agnarr's body. He chuckled lightly after catching me in his hands, meant to steady me, "Someone's skittish. I thought you were sterner stuff, Iduna."
I ignored his comment and tried to walk away but he was still holding me, "Let go of me, Agnarr, please." It sounded more urgent than I meant for it to. He spoke softly in my ear, "Easy. Don't get so excited."
"Being held by you isn't enough to get me excited," I replied to him over my shoulder.
"I'm sorry," he twirled me around to face him. His smiling face was close to mine. "But I don't have time right now for anything else." That comment made me get so red and tense. "And you also didn't seem to mind me holding you earlier."
I pushed him towards his men, "Go train. I hope you break something." I was about to walk away. Him shirtless, his innuendos as he held me, and recalling his gentle warm breathe on my neck and face as he spoke in my ear. It was making me all tense. The sooner I got away from him, the better I'd feel.
"Oh, Iduna? The weather is hot today. Inform Olina to make lemonade and BLTs for us, please," Agnarr instructed.
"What am I, your butler? Tell her yourself. You're a grown man," I retorted angrily, earning some OOOOs from the soldiers.
"Iduna," he calmly chided.
"Fine, Your Highnie," I said, heading inside. I heard chuckling behind me and some voices.
"She's so hot for you."
"I know, but she makes it so complicated though." That's was definitely Agnarr's voice. I snapped and rushed him, tackling him to the ground. All the soldiers backed away and were cheering as Agnarr and I rolled in the grass. I was trying to pummel him to death but would just block with his arms or him rolling over with me. It went on like this until Agnarr had me pinned with my wrists in his hands above my head against the grass. We were both filthy from the dirt and sweaty from the hot summer weather that had graced Arendelle. We were panting, trying to catch each other's breaths.
"Oh, my gosh! Just kiss her already! We can't stand the tension anymore," a soldier joked and the others laughed until Agnarr gave them a look. I suddenly had an idea.
"He's right, Your Majesty," I spoke in a soft seductive voice, getting his attention instantly. "What are you waiting for? I'm at your mercy."
I could tell it worked because he stared at me with longing in his hazel eyes and I could feel his hands on my wrists become gentle as they grazed down my arms. "Iduna, I-" Before he could finish, I traded places with him but this time sat on his chest, taking his auburn hair in one hand and positioning a fist. "Yield," I demanded.
"Looks like I'm at your mercy this time, Iduna," he said and I became flustered again, so he chuckled, "I yield." I got off of him and immediately went inside angry at how he was messing with me like that.
I entered the door that went into the kitchen by the training area. Olina was already in there and her face lit up when she noticed me, "Iduna, how nice to see you again." I smiled. Besides Gerda, Olina was a good friend at the palace too. She and I bonded during the times I would help out in the kitchen. I at the counter and muttered angrily. She noticed how filthy I was, "What happened to you?"
"As that pig you call a King," I replied.
"I think someone is in need of some chocolate cake," Olina said, instantly catching my childlike attention. She walked into the pantry and came out with a small cake. "I just finished it this morning. Help yourself."
"Don't mind if I do," I quickly pulled the plate over, staring at the chocolatey goodness before me. "Oh, yeah. Mr. Whiskers wants lemonade and BLTs."
"I'll get right on that," Olina smiled and nodded. As she prepared the king's order, I consumed every crumb of that chocolate cake. Olina gave me a glass of milk to wash it down. I smiled with gratitude at her and she smiled back. "There. Finished. Iduna. Can you get the sandwiches and I get the lemonade?"
I gulped the milk and jumped up to help her carry out the large silver platter of BLTs while she brought out a separate platter with several empty cups on it and the pitchers of lemonade. Going outside, Agnarr smiled, "Sandwich time, boys."
"Hey! Down boys!" I yelled as I was swarmed with sweaty shirtless men who surrounded me and ravaged the platter. By the time they disappeared, I was on my knees with the platter positioned like a shield. "Are they gone?" I asked.
"They're gone," Agnarr laughed. I stood and saw Agnarr towering over me, eating a sandwich and offering me one. "For your troubles." His smile was perfect and his eyes alluring, but I forced an angry look and snatched the sandwich from his hand. He just chuckled before he walked off to rejoin the others. I angerly took a big bite of the sandwich and flipped him off with my middle finger.
You wish. In good time, Iduna. I choked on my food and turned red when I heard that voice speak again. Agnarr saw me choking and rushed over and did the Heimlich maneuver. "Iduna, are you alright?" he asked with genuine worry. I nodded.
I noticed the position I was in against his body as he continued to stand behind me. He chuckled, "Smaller bites next time."
I'd rather bite you hard instead, the voice inside me said, making me squirm out of his arms with red cheeks. "Let me go! I'm fine!" I quickly hurried inside, feeling Agnarr's concerned eyes on me. I quickly retreated into the palace and headed straight for my cell room, sitting in the cold, wet corner of the stony room and pulled my knees to my chest.
My heart was racing as desires for Agnarr kept surfacing. My body trembled with tension as it recalled the touch of his hand, the kiss of his lips, the safety I felt when he held me at my lowest. I buried my red face into my hands. Stop it! Stop it, Iduna! The more I resisted the mountain of desires, the taller that mountain became until it became so suffocating I couldn't breathe and I panicked.
Someone entered, but I wasn't paying attention. "Breathe, Iduna," Agnarr said. I looked up to see him kneeling close in front of me, caressing my trembling arm. He was very worried. I recoiled deeper in the corner, "Leave me alone! You can't be in here!" I yelled, but it wasn't out of anger, but fear. My breathing was erratic.
His expression became firmer, "Iduna, you need to calm down. You're having a panic attack."
"Just leave!" I repeated, more fearful.
He caressed my face in his hands, "Close your eyes, Iduna. Breathe in. Breathe out." I did as he instructed.
"Repeat after me. 'Conceal. Don't feel. Don't let it show,'" his gentle voice instructed me further. I was being torn apart. Half of me wanted to listen and no longer feel these desires, but the other half wanted me to act on them instantly. I teared up, "I can't do it, Agnarr."
He pulled me close and held me again like he did in his office, "You have to, Iduna. I don't like seeing you like this. So afraid- Just breath then. Do it for me." I allowed myself to get closer to him and let myself breath and calm down.
"There we go. That's it, Iduna. Just breath," he encouraged.
You're liking this a lot. I knew it. I quickly but gently pushed away from him. "Okay, that's enough."
My heart melted when I saw him smile lightly before he stood. He offered me a hand, "Come with me. I have a surprise for you." I took his hand and he helped me up to my feet.
"Where—Where are you taking me?" I asked.
"Your new room," he smiled at me over his shoulder.
My new- what?
I was guided to one of the guest rooms near upstairs by Gerda who had a smile on her face as Agnarr led the way. It was a very nice room with modest space that was the size of my old home It was co-joined with a personal bathroom and a dressing room where I had several dresses and pairs of shoes. I looked at Gerda. She confirmed with a nod, "They are all for you."
I looked back, "Isn't this a bit overkill? I'm not used to having-"
"I know it may seem excessive compared to what you are used to, but at least you won't have to wear that slave gown all the time anymore," Gerda said. I smiled, seeing the bright side, but I felt confused.
Agnarr's smile faded, "I assure you, Iduna. These dresses are the best money can buy."
I smiled, "It's not that. The dresses are beautiful. Really. It's just…" I looked down at my slave gown.
Agnarr and Gerda gave each other a look before Agnarr walked forward carrying a scroll before handing it to me. I took it with hesitation, snapped the wax seal off before unrolling it. My heart froze. I looked up at Agnarr.
"A royal pardon. Your debt to this kingdom has been paid," Agnarr said.
"With just a few months of slavery? I know of other thieves who were imprisoned much longer," I replied.
"Mm-hmm," Gerda said casually. Agnarr shot her a regal scowl and then back at me and had sudden shock when I smiled.
"What?" Agnarr asked.
"You sure you want this? Who's going to clean your mansion, help Olina, take care of your horse if I'm not here?" I asked sarcastically with a tease.
"I do have other workers in my home," Agnarr smiled, snatching the pardon from her hands. "If you want to remain my slave, I have a clean slave gown and slave collar with your name on it." I tried to reach for it but he held it high above his head which was impossible for me to reach since he was taller. He smiled smugly at me as I scowled and jumped up and down frantically, trying to reach it.
"Need a chair, my pet?" Agnarr asked teasingly.
I smiled before punching him in the gut hard, making him hunch over so I could get my pardon back. "Oh, don't bow, good sir," I giggled.
Agnarr smiled before grabbing one of my legs and making me fall over, making me scream.
"Was that REALLY necessary, King Agnarr?" Gerda questioned.
Agnarr stood over me and smiled, "Yes and it felt good." I was about to retaliate when I quickly stood back up, but Gerda intervened getting in between me and Agnarr, "Now that you are no longer a prisoner of his Majesty, what will you do now that you are free?"
I was stunned by her question, "I'm- I'm free. I've been doing whatever just to survive. Now? What do I do?" The last few words I uttered I asked after looking up at Agnarr and Gerda.
"You can stay, Iduna. As a member of my staff you would receive pay for the work you do," Agnarr suggested. "Gerda is in charge of the maids. They handle cleaning. Olina is the head cook and in charge of other cooks. Kai oversees all the work in the palace. In fact, he's Gerda's husband."
I looked at Gerda who smiled and nodded. Agnarr continued, "Kai also assists me with royal duties. Lord Peterssen is in charge of the Royal Guard and our soldiers as well as a close royal advisor of the crown. He's been in need of an assistant for some time. You have different areas to choose from. All pay very well."
I looked back down at the pardon. This is way more than I deserve. Why is he being so good to me? Why do you think?
I looked up at Agnarr but was stunned when I only saw Oscar's face on Agnarr's body. He looked back at me with confusion and asked with Agnarr's voice, "Iduna? What's wrong?"
My fears spoke to me loud and clear. What happened the last time you opened your heart to someone you liked? You were betrayed. All for a few shiny coins. Agnarr is no different. He's just cleverly using you and manipulating you. He'll betray you and cast you aside when it suits him. You'll end up with a broken heart all over again. Is that what you really want? Are you that desperate for someone to love you that you cling to people who can hurt you the most?
I shook my head and slowly backed away to the door. The face on Agnarr's body flickered between Oscar's and Agnarr's. "Iduna, what's wrong?"
I began to tear up, "Of course. It makes so much sense. First, you send Gerda to sneak me better meals and change how I'm strung up in my cell. You have her give me a pillow and blanket so I can sleep better. You tell her to share the truth that you're actually a good man. Second, you act like you like me by saving me from the council, kissing me and now this? Was that story of your father beating you when you were little actually true or was it all a ploy to get me to feel sorry for you?!"
Gerda was shocked and tried to step forward and defend Agnarr but Agnarr held her back and remained silent as I ranted with emotion. "I'm not going to let you into my heart so you can break it like Oscar!" Agnarr's eyes widened slightly, finally realizing why I was screaming at him. "Do you hear me?! I won't let you!"
I took off running with tears running down my cheeks. I ran past other workers out of the palace and ran straight to the one place I could ever truly feel safe. Home. There it was. On the outskirts of Arendelle by the main street where my parents left me long ago to fight a war. I ran inside, away from my fears, seeking sanctuary in the one place I was happiest when I was a childand slammed the door shut on the world outside.
