The day went on, Hilda her mom were going around from place to place and while Johanna was passionate about the locations the girl just could not get interested in any of them. She could not get her head off the library and of course anything besides that was tedious.

-So, what are you thinking of the city so far?

-Mom, I know you lived here but you have to understand: I don't like this place, this city, it just… doesn't fit me.

-Hilda, you can't hide on the woods forever, there is a world out there and the valley is not the only part of it.

-And there is also a world after the walls.

-Hilda all I want to say is that you need to at least accept that sooner or later living on the middle of nowhere will become impossible or at least unsustainable.

Hilda looked away.

Raven had a almost opposite point of view, the less he had to move, the best. He was all for moving but mainly because of the comfort he would get of Hilda living on the city… on her own house.

He would not have to be so worried about trolls or, you know, magic creatures that could storm the house because a contract was singed minutes after the expiring date. That could be the best future years of his life and considering how long he lived that would be a remarkable achievement.

Raven was alive for a long time and even if his behavior didn't represent that he was not as innocent as he seemed. But he was undeniably lazy and most of the time…picky.

-He seriously expect me to eat this?-the bird pushed the bowl away.

-Well, it's bird food.

-No its just a bunch of seeds and… what even is this?

-What you expected bird food to be?- asked the elf.

-You know… ah… oh…uh…

-You really spent a long time with Hilda right?

-I think I really got too picky with my eating habits.

-But going back Trollberg-

-Alfur, please, I DON'T want to talk about it, it's boring, its annoying, now, Twig, would you help me with a thing?

The deerfox looked up.

-Could you be a good boy and get me something decent, or at least, tastier to eat?

-How you think he is going to do that?

-Well, if he goes to… ah, never mind he is leaving I'll just go there myself.-he said while looking at the window, where the owner could be seen leaving with a box of tools.

Raven opened the doors and flew to the kitchen and started to look around for something to eat, of course he found a cookie jar and ate until he was satisfied. No one would suspect him anyways.

Right?

Hilda was still just as bored so Johanna decided to take her to the last place on her plans, street where the bird parade was being prepared.

-Let me guess, you liked this as a kid.

-Well-

-Mom.

-I am just trying to make this better…

-Mom, I know but… I just don't want to move.

-Hilda sometimes it's not about wanting, its about doing what is better, besides, think of Raven. Even he is willing to move.

-Yeah but…but…

-Hilda I understand but sometimes…we can't have things go on our way.

The girl looked down, disappointed. She never thought that this day would arrive, she honestly thought that the rest of het life would be on the woods, her dream life but now she wasn't sure.

Hilda looked at the parade preparations, posters were hang, decorations, she kind of understood why Raven faked it, if they knew that this was all for nothing it would be at least… disappointing, if not soul crushing.

It was kind of wholesome, he was not the guy who typically goes out of his way for others so, maybe the parade wasn't so bad. Maybe she could… accept at least.

Raven was not worried about moving, he was enjoying every second that owner wasn't home. He took advantage of the fact no one would suspect a bird and prepared some cocoa,

-At least the owner has good taste.

-Don't you think that's way too risky?

-Um…. Nah.

-How you went from abnormally careful to a careless bird that is risking years of faking?

-I don't know… I just really like hot cocoa I guess.

-Curious.

He took a sip out of the mug.

-You know, we should have moved here long ago.

-You wishes may come true.
