Danny was angry. He felt like they weren´t getting new information fast enough. His father had called him with an update on Jamie´s condition, and it was concerning. It was now eight o´clock in the morning, Jamie had been in hospital for more than twelve hours. At least, Danny and Baez had found out that a friend of Blaze, Conrad Jackson, had bought some medical equipment which could be used in a bacteria lab. They were on their way to his apartment in East New York, where he was hoping for answers. Baez had decided to drive, as she was unsure if Danny were in the right condition for steering a car. After a while which felt like hours, they reached Jackson´s apartment. Danny knocked at the door. "Conrad Jackson? Police! Open the door!" Nothing. He knocked again before trying to open the door, surprised to find it unlocked. He pushed it open and entered, his gun in the hand just to be sure. But the apartment seemed to be empty. However, Baez found a mobile phone on the couch table. Just as they wanted to leave, Danny´s phone rang. He picked up, partly hoping it was his father with news about Jamie, partly fearing it. But it wasn´t. Instead, the whole case got more complicated. "That was the Department.", he told Baez. "There was another attack similar to Jamie´s. An officer was trying to help a homeless man who sprayed a white powder in his face. The homeless seems to be Blaze. Fortunately, the Officer had heard about the incident yesterday and reported it immediately." "Is he alright?", Baez asked. Danny shrugged. "He is now. But you know about Jamie. In a few hours, the other Officer will be in the same condition."
