Gaara had planned to go to Sakura's apartment in the evening, but the meeting he had had with Naruto was so damn long that he ended up getting late. He called her on the phone before actually appearing on her doorstep in the middle of the night. It was still past dinner time, but he thought it would be rude to go to her house unannounced.
He left his shoes beside Sakura's, by the front door, and followed her to the living room.
"I'll be straight with you." He began. "I don't know what this feeling is and I don't know if you feel it too, but I think about you all the time, I keep remembering the times we were together and I've come to realize that you are an outstanding person. You're gorgeous, strong, successful… I admire you a lot. Every time we're together I have butterflies in my stomach. I crave you every minute of my day and I don't mean that I only want you in my bed, because I want to really be with you."
Sakura was moved by his confession. She smiled at him and said, "You're in love, Gaara."
"I think I am. But I have to know: are you in love too?"
"Yes, I am in love with you too."
Sakura held his hand and kissed him on the cheek. She beamed at him before continuing, "What do I do about Sarada?"
"If you talk to her and explain your reasons to her, I'm sure she'll understand with time. And I'll be here to support you."
"Thank you… Ino told me the same thing. I guess you're both right, I'll just do that and wait."
Sakura stood up and led Gaara by the hand to her bedroom. "I missed you," she kissed him, "I missed you so much", she removed his jacket and his shirt, "did you miss me too?"
"Yeah, I did…" He answered, sliding off her dress and unclasping her bra. "Wait, is Sarada away today?"
"No, she's with Cho-Cho, they're in the movies; don't worry about her."
Gaara was thrusting into her with all his might and Sakura moaned in his ear when they felt another presence in the apartment. "It's Sarada. She won't come inside my bedroom, let's just keep quiet until she goes to bed." They continued the sex as quietly as they could; Sakura put a hand to her mouth and Gaara bit his lip to muffle his groans.
In a few minutes they felt Sarada's chakra get light and stable, which meant she was asleep. Sakura and Gaara cuddled and fell asleep too.
Sarada was with her best friend, Cho-Cho, watching a historical drama at the movies. The movie was interesting but it was incredibly long; Sarada fought the urge to sleep on the chair every ten minutes. She had to drag herself to her house, so sleepy she was.
She carefully opened the door and removed her shoes when she saw an unfamiliar, definitely male pair of shoes beside her mother's shoes.
Who is here? Is Mama alright? She walked past her mother's bedroom and heard the shuffling of bed sheets.
She went to her bedroom a little concerned but she remembered a conversation she accidentally overheard between Choji and Karui one night, when Cho-Cho threw a slumber party for the girls at her house.
"Sakura is still young. She should not refrain herself from dating." Karui said.
Choji sighed and replied, "I know, but she loved Sasuke so much, since we were gennins…"
"She will get over him, eventually, and will find another man she will love and she will want to be with him, of course!"
"You're probably right. She's a good person, she'll find another man soon."
Sarada covered herself and closed her eyes. A restless thought crossed her mind before falling asleep: Who is Mama with? And what are they doing in the bedroom?
Sakura woke up early and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She left Gaara on her bed, but soon she would have to wake him up; she didn't want Sarada to know that a man had slept over.
She turned to go wake him up when he appeared in the kitchen. He kissed her tenderly on the lips and grasped her waist tightly.
"I think I should go before she wakes up."
"Don't you want some breakfast?"
"I'll eat at my sister's."
About thirty minutes after his departure, Sarada went to the kitchen and sat on the table. She thought about asking her mother about the extra male pair of shoes by the door but decided against it.
They had breakfast and each went their own way. Sarada actually didn't have anything to do today, except training, but she had a lot of spare time before that.
A little light bulb blinked in her head: she knew exactly where she had to go to find out more about the mysterious person that spent the night with her mom. She ran faster as she sighted the flower shop.
"Aunt Ino, we have to talk!"
Ino was taken by surprise by the girl in front of her. She was panting and had a worried look on her face. Ino took Sarada to the back of the shop to have some privacy.
"What happened?"
"It's Mama… yesterday there was another pair of shoes by the door… and… I think… Mama and the other person were... in her bedroom…"
"Oh… look, Sarada, your mom has been feeling alone lately, she is entitled to have some company, don't you think?"
"But she has me, aunt Ino!"
"Yes, yes, your Mama loves you very much, you're a piece of Sasuke, after all… but your mom sometimes needs another kind of company…"
"Another kind of company? Like a friend?"
"You may call it that."
"Aren't you her friend? But what were they doing in the bedroom? Why weren't they in the living room, like normal friends?"
Ino took a deep breath before addressing the delicate matter. She knew Sakura wouldn't mind if she talked about this with Sarada, but she had to be careful.
"I am friends with your mom, Sarada, but the person that was with her is actually a special kind of friend, like a boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? But she didn't tell me anything about having a boyfriend!"
"I know that, sweetie, your mom is worried about you and that's why she didn't tell you yet."
Sarada's expression became softer, but she still wanted to know more. "Who is he?"
"Your mom will tell you that."
The girl left the shop to go training. Ino decided to take her lunch break to go to the hospital to tell Sakura about her talk with her daughter.
"Oh my god… we noticed when she arrived home, but I didn't think she would see anything… geez, what do I do now?"
"Just tell her already! Get it over with as fast as you can, Sakura!" The blonde leaned closer to her friend and raised a brow, "And good luck with the bedroom stuff."
Me again... let's pretend kids are still innocent little creatures (I've worked with 11 year olds for a long time and I know what I'm talking about here).
