Louie glanced over at Gandra Dee who had avoided Louie the entire trip ride towards Ithaquack.
He was sitting alone, away from everyone, as far away from them as he could get without falling over board from the massive ship that they were sailing in.
Oh. He had thought about jumping. But with Lena needing him, and the thought of him drowing, due to him never learning to swim...
Pushed that thought aside.
So. He just continued to study everyone, to try and find some angle out of the mess he was in, and his eyes drifted over to Gandra.
How is it that she ended up in Doofus's ranks when she had seemed to be on his side last time they saw each other?
What was her motive for working for Doofus?
Louie couldn't help but keep staring at her. Trying so hard to figure out why she was there.
Louie suddenly jumped at the sound of someone clearing their throat. Louie's muscles tensed and he hugged his knees closer to his chest as he slowly looked up.
"Mark Beaks." The Parrot said, holding out his hand to him to shake, as he stayed clued to his phone.
Louie stared at the phone, but said nothing, he wished he had his. Then he could call Huey or Dewey and come up with some sort of plan. Doofus took his the moment he stepped foot in the limo. He had no idea if Doofus still had it, or destroyed it, but, now, just one call to his brothers or Mom even, would confiscate for something.
"Yeah. I know who you are." Louie snapped at him.
Mark Beaks paused at typing something on his phone then looked down at the young duck, and raised an eyebrow. Out of the corner of his eye Louie saw Rockerduck watching him with a smug look on his face, making Louie shudder, then, forced himself to say.
"I, I mean. My brothers told me a lot about you...Sir..." Louie grumbled, the words nearly making him gag.
He wasn't going to cause trouble.
He wasn't going to cause trouble.
He wasn't -.
"Really, now." Mark said, with interest. "What do they say about me?" Mark asked.
Louie hesitated.
He had a feeling that this conversation was more of a trap, set by Rockerduck, to have him mess up on the mission so he could report to Doofus. Louie clinched his jaw before answering, as he stared directly at Rockerduck, a gleam in Louie's eyes, and spoke clearly and loudly enough for everyone to hear.
"They said you were a bit of a lazy, no good, faker."
Mark stared at him, Gandra finally looked over at Louie sharply with fear in her eyes, Timothy just rolled his own, and Rockerduck's smile only widen as he slowly took out his phone, dialed a number, and walked off away from the group.
Louie's stomach knotted in fear.
Louie's left eye twitched when the memories of Doofus slamming against him came flooding back, but he forced himself to bite down on the inside of his cheek to keep from whimpering at the horrible images flashing through his mind.
Crap!
Why couldn't he have kept his mouth shut? Said something nice?
But that wasn't Louie.
Even when he tries to tell the truth, it still comes back and bites him in the ass.
Why even try?
"Well, I wouldn't have put it past them." Mark said, finally, making Louie stare at him in surprise. Mark didn't seem angry, just, amused. "I did come off as sort of a spoiled CEO." He told him. "But, I'm over that phase now. I got bigger plans now that I am working for Doofus."
"Why..." Louie began, "Why are you working for Doofus?"
"Well... He promised me something in return for working with him, and before you ask, no, I won't tell you what he promised, just that it's going to revolutionize the entire world once I get it up and running." Mark told him.
Rockerduck came back out, and walked up to Louie.
"Get up." He ordered.
Louie closed his eyes as he slowly picked himself up. Then -.
Smack!
Rockerduck slapped him across the face, making Louie's eyes fly open and almost overboard, but Louie caught himself just in time. Louie cradled his now red and stinging left cheek as he glared up at Rockerduck.
"Doofus says that's strike one, for smack talking." Rockerduck told him.
Strike one?
"Two more and you know what will happen. Right? Fuck toy?" Rockerduck snarled at him.
Louie huffed, as tears swelled in his eyes but nodded slowly all the same.
"Good." Rockerduck turned away and went to talk to the captain of the ship.
Mark slowly walked away, not bothering to say sorry for the trouble he caused, and went back to typing on his phone. Timothy was the next one to come up to him.
"Here..." He said, handing Louie a chunk of ice from the cooler full of drinks that they had brought on with them.
Louie stared at it, then up at the pig before slowly taking the ice from him and applying it to his stinging eye. He hissed when the cold connected with heat and closed his eyes.
"How, How do we even kill a god?" Louie asked, after awhile, when he realized Timothy hadn't moved from his spot. Timothy sighed, then walked over to stand next to Louie by the rail of the ship. He prompt his elbows up and looked out across the sea.
The sea always reminded Louie of Uncle Donald, and Louie wondered what his uncle would think of him now. How he'd feel about his nephew's motives and choices he was making.
Louie figured he didn't want to know.
Probably couldn't face him again even if he got the chance.
"Gods and Goddess can't really be killed." Timothy told him. "You'd have to either trap them, contain them in a powerful artifact, cut their body into tiny pieces so they can't regenerate after a very long time, or steal their powers..."
Louie's stomach tightened even more, and he started to feel a lump form in his throat.
"How... How are we suppose to do any of that? Against three of the most powerful -." He stopped when Timothy looked back at him with a grin on his face.
"We have a plan. Your job, Louie, is to do what we say in order for this to work." Timothy told him.
"What? So... I'm like -. A -." Louie stammered.
"A weapon? Yeah." Timothy finished for him. "I believe Doofus gave you some sort of serum, a type of poison of sorts a while back?" He asked, not taking his eyes off Louie.
Louie felt the blood drain from his face, but slowly nodded.
Louie had taken a drink of PEP and drunk it not knowing that Doofus had already been one step ahead of him, and poisoned the drink before hand.
With what.
He didn't know.
But from what Timothy was suggesting. Is that the poison did more then just make him black out, and have this weird side effects to it.
"W, What are you getting at -. Timothy?" Louie choked out.
His hands were trembling, and he couldn't be bothered with putting the piece of ice up to his eye anymore. He was clinching the ice in his hand, making it melt.
"That poison was to clear the way to put the powers of the Gods and Goddess within you." Timothy explained. "You are...Let's say... A vessel of sorts... Once the Zeus, Storkules, and Selene try and use them on us, we'll use you as a shield, trapping their powers within you and surrendering them to us. Then... Comes the fun part."
Fun part?
How was any of this fun?
Louie's head was swarming with questions still, but he couldn't process any of them at the moment to even come close to asking any of them out loud. But he manged just one as the island of Ithaquack came into view.
"Fun...Part?"
Timothy took out a dagger and held it up in front of Louie's face. Making Louie swallow hard as he slowly took a step back.
"I get to dice them up." Timothy told him. "Right in front of you."
