Xenophilius let out a heavy sigh as he looked at a copy of the latest edition of The Quibbler. It had not been a good month for him; he had been sure people would find the featured article fascinating ("Rubeus Hagrid - Real Name: Gorblock-57, Famed Hogwarts Gamekeeper Really an Alien From a Distant Galaxy"), but much to his chagrin he had only managed to sell a mere 14 copies. On top of that, half his writers had threatened to quit and find employment elsewhere. He hoped he would have better luck with the following month's issue, although he seriously doubted it at this point.
Just then Xeno heard little footsteps approaching; he looked down to see Luna gazing up at him, head cocked to the side. "Wwackspuwt got Daddy?"
"No, moonbeam, Daddy doesn't have Wrackspurts. Things just haven't been going very well with Daddy's magazine, that's all." Xeno sighed again.
The toddler climbed up onto her father's lap and began running her little hand through his long blond hair, humming a song Pandora would sing to her whenever she was upset. She then held out her arms for a hug. "Hug Wuna!"
Xeno obliged, a big smile on his face. "Thank you, moonbeam. You always know how to cheer me up. Daddy feels a lot better now." He stood up. "Say, why don't you and I do something together while your mummy's working? Tell me, what would you like to do?"
Luna thought for a moment and then said, "Tea party! Me an' Daddy pway tea party!"
"All right then, a tea party it is." As father and daughter were playing, Xeno found himself pondering the fact that while things might not be going well with The Quibbler now, he still had a loving wife and a sweet daughter who truly cared about him and liked to see him happy. And who knew, perhaps he'd be able to sell more copies of the next edition. He mustn't lose faith yet.
