Today's one shot is all about Christmas. It's more so based on The Originals rather than TVD, but just trust the process here! Without further ado, here's another one shot for your viewing pleasure!
Synopsis: Rebekah goes to pick up Klaus's Christmas present. When Christmas day finally comes, Klaus is beyond shocked to see what it is.

It was a week before Christmas. The Mikaelsons were doing everything they needed to in order to do as little as possible on the holiday itself. Presents were bought, some wrapped already and under the tree, while other presents were sitting in rooms waiting until the night before. The guys didn't really think Christmas was that special, but Rebekah was all over it. She decorated the family mansion until it screamed Christmas all over it.
The family was sitting around the compound. It was a coincidence that they had little to do today because Marcel said that he would take care of some things. He did it for Rebekah, who had a special errand to run and she asked a favor of him, one that he accepted. No one else knows what is going on. The silence was agonizing that you could almost hear a pin drop. Kol, tired of the quiet, started talking.
"I just want Christmas to get here already! I just want to know what I got!" Everyone rolled their eyes.
Rebekah, who smacked him upside the head, replied with "You know Christmas isn't about what presents you get, right?"
"Oh really. Then, what is it about?"
"Family. Spending time with the people you love and care about."
"Well, if love is getting a dagger through our chests, then Niklaus loves us way too much!" Klaus gave him a stare so hard that if looks could kill, Kol would be dead. Rebekah smacked him upside the head again.
"I don't have to deal with this right now. It's obvious that you people don't care." Rebekah walked out of the compound and almost was to the door until Klaus stopped her.
"Just where do you think you're going, sister?" Klaus asked.
"To run some errands, is that alright with you?" Rebekah quipped back. Klaus shut up after that. With that, Rebekah was on her merry way to give her brother the biggest shock of his life on Christmas.
Rebekah was sitting at the airport waiting for someone. That someone being Caroline Forbes, a woman that Klaus has a huge crush on. Everyone could see it when they were back in Mystic Falls. Hell, Caroline even saw it herself and she started to fall for him in the process as well. Tyler wasn't happy, but in the back of both of their minds, they knew that their relationship wouldn't work out. Caroline was excited to see Klaus since he left for New Orleans. In that time frame, she's only seen him once and it was a quite memorable experience.
The intercom went off and announced that the next flight into NOLA was arriving. Rebekah stood up and waited for Caroline, so that she knew where she was going. When Rebekah wanted to do this, Caroline was skeptical at first because she didn't exactly get along with Rebekah, but somehow, they made amends and are now really good friends, even if it's through text. Caroline was walking in and saw Rebekah, then smiled. She went in for a hug, which Rebekah accepted.
"I'm so excited to be here! I've wanted to see New Orleans for a long time, but now I'm just glad that I have an excuse to!" Caroline said.
"Happy to have you here! You know that my brother would be more than willing to give you the grand tour. He might not give the rest of us a choice to stay behind," Rebekah said. Caroline chuckled at that. It was true.
"Yeah, that sounds like Klaus. Where exactly am I staying? I can't stay at the mansion because it would be a dead giveaway if I'm there."
"Don't worry, I've got it covered. Marcel has a guest house here and it took some convincing when I asked him, but he finally said yes, so you're staying there."
"Ok. I don't want to know what that convincing consisted of." Rebekah laughed. The two women got in Rebekah's car and drove off to Caroline's place of residence for the next two weeks. She was staying for New Years too. No sane person can stay in NOLA for a weekend, then leave. They have to get the full package.
Marcel was waiting in his guest house for Caroline and Rebekah to get there. He had to take a break for this purpose. Klaus said that he would hold down the fort for a while. He's never met Caroline, but from what he's heard, Klaus loves her so much. The smile from when Klaus got back from Mystic Falls never left his face. When Marcel asked him why he was in a good mood, he never received a response, but now he has a good theory as to why that was. It was probably true too. He can't wait to meet her. A car door slammed, so that meant that Rebekah was here. She knocked on the door and Marcel told them that it's open.
"Rebekah! Always nice to see you!" Rebekah smiled. He saw Caroline right behind her. "You must be Caroline." She nodded. "I've heard a lot about you."
"Good things, I hope!" Caroline said.
"Very good things." It was Caroline's turn to smile. "Well, I've got to get back to the compound, finish some things up. I was able to get essential stuff for you, Caroline. Food, water, things like that. Rebekah told me the kinds of things you like." Caroline nodded.
"Marcel, you didn't have to go through all that trouble."
"Well, Klaus loves you and he would literally kill me if I didn't take care of guests as special as you." Caroline chuckled.
"True." Marcel headed out and the three exchanged goodbye pleasantries. He told Caroline that it was nice to meet her. He was invited to the Mikaelson Christmas, so he would see her then, and he would get to know more about her life back in Mystic Falls.
Now that Caroline was actually in New Orleans, she couldn't wait until Christmas. She couldn't wait to see the man that she fell in love with. He doesn't know that yet though. 5 more days! she thought. I can get through this!
Christmas Day finally came and the Mikaelsons were getting ready for the big family dinner. Most of the food was cooked, and some of it was sitting in the oven to cool off. Rebekah insisted on doing presents first. The guys gaped at her because that was a complete 180 from what she said the week before. Kol instantly agreed because he was chomping at the bit since the beginning. It took Elijah and Klaus a while to accept, but they eventually did.
Rebekah managed to pick up Caroline from the guest house and had her stay in the car until she gave a signal. She was planning on Caroline being Klaus's last present. Everyone was opening presents and Kol was excited about everything he got. An hour passed and it was time for Klaus to receive his present from Rebekah. He was looking around because Marcel, Elijah and Kol got theirs from Rebekah, but he didn't. Rebekah stopped him and told him that she was going to get it. Marcel smirked. Luckily, Klaus didn't see it.
A couple minutes later, Rebekah gave a signal and someone walked in behind her. Klaus couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what, or rather who, it was. "Caroline. Am I dreaming? Is that really you?" Klaus asked.
"Nope. It's really me, Klaus. You're not dreaming," Caroline replied. She walked up to him and kissed him. He was caught way off guard but he still reciprocated it.
"What was that for? Not that I'm complaining about it!"
"Let's just say that I am falling in love with you too. Didn't expect to, but I did. Tyler about threw a fit when I told him, but I don't care. Guess absence did make the heart grow fonder." Klaus smiled and nodded. He kissed her again and this time, they were met from cheering and clapping from Elijah and Kol. Rebekah was smiling. The three of them were waiting for this moment since their Mystic Falls days. They were tired of Klaus moping around all the time and just wanted him to be happy, no matter how much they denied showing it.
"Well, with that out of the way, why don't we eat?" Rebekah asked. She was met with responses such as "Yes!" "I'm starving!" and "Let's!"
The Mikaelsons, Caroline, and Marcel were sitting around the table eating their dinner. Caroline was in awe of how good the food was. "Who made all of this? This is heavenly!" she said.
"I did most of the cooking, but the guys helped out to some extent," Rebekah said.
"Well, it is amazing, Bekah." Rebekah smiled at the nickname. Her and Caroline haven't been friends for long and she thought they weren't to the point of nicknames yet.
"Thanks, Care." Marcel decided to shift gears into another conversation. He wanted to get to know the girl in question.
"So, Caroline, I've heard good things about you, but not much to know exactly who you are. Care to enlighten me?" Marcel asked.
"I would love to!" Caroline replied. She told her story of her life in Mystic Falls, what she did there, her Miss Mystic days, and her life at Whitmore. "It's still Elena and Salvatoreland there no matter where I go."
"Really? Can't they just sod off their pathetic lives for one day?" Rebekah said.
"I wish, but unfortunately not. I'm so glad I was able to get away from them. Elena is being hysterical." Marcel didn't know who Elena and the Salvatores were(he's only heard of the brothers by name), so Caroline and the Mikaelsons were filling him in on Elena, Stefan, and Damon. Elijah had more positive things to say about Elena, but otherwise, the reception was negative from everyone.
"By the way, Bekah, Matt says hi and sorry he couldn't get away." Rebekah smiled and blushed.
"It's fine. I'll talk to him later." The two of them were in a long distance relationship, and to the surprise of everyone else, it was working very well. Matt decided to spend the holiday with Tyler since he had no one in his family left to spend it with. They were all either dead or well across the country. Marcel was curious again. They told him about Matt, somewhere in the conversation Klaus made a quip. "Rebekah has a thing for high school quarterbacks." He was met with a playful smack in the arm from Caroline and a glare from his sister.
Later on in the night, Caroline set up Skype so Rebekah could video chat with Matt. She waved at Matt and left the two to catch up. Rebekah was just as excited to see him as Caroline was to see Klaus. Matt knew about Rebekah's idea for Klaus's gift. He was the first person she told about it. He may have suggested it as well.
It's safe to say that this Christmas was the best the Mikaelsons ever had. Caroline might as well come to NOLA every year for the holidays and even more times after that. Hell, Matt might come along with her now. He already made a plan to see her in person for New Years. Caroline and Matt could only take so much of Elena and the Salvatores after all. Klaus has never been happier. Neither has Caroline. Both of them were excited to finally see each other. Now that they have officially declared their feelings, they were curious to see how their new relationship would go. Christmas is now officially Klaus's favorite holiday, and he has Rebekah to thank for that. She will not be getting daggered for a very long time due to this.
There you have it! I will be writing a one shot next week for New Years. It's a sequel to this, so be on the lookout! Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I always love to do as much as I can during the holiday season. Let me know what you think by leaving a review, constructive feedback, or just anything random. Stay tuned for more!
