Two weeks have passed. Now, Bex, Kevin, and everyone else is discharged from the hospital. It's a miracle these folks are alive, let alone in one piece. Bex and Kevin step outside to breathe the fresh air in Sapporo, but something didn't quite add up to them. It looked like they've time traveled; the buildings looked more futuristic and some robots were moving to and fro. Why did they notice this just now?!

To make matters worse, they don't belong here so how are they going to get back home? Bex just marched towards the destination of the factory that happened to be in her country. Kevin was to attend a Magical Mirai concert, but to his surprise he stumbled upon the factory. Everything links to that hellish factory, but why?

"Why did you head to the music factory?" Miku asked.

"I was bored!" Bex blurted. "And my creativity was dying, but I didn't know I'd be led to something like this."

"Neither did I." Kevin agreed. "But you can take us home, right Miku?"

She doesn't know if she can or not. What makes this more difficult is that this Sapporo isn't the one in Bex and Kevin's world. How are they to return to their world? Someone or something bigger is pulling the strings for sure.

Miku's only option is to get these two on board a plane to their countries; she does happen to own an airline. A hop, skip, and a jump there and they should be on their merry way. Of course, that's what they wanted to happen. As they traverse to the airport, somehow, in a natural way, the trio ends up in the Inari Shrine. Dawn turns to dusk in the blink of an eye, lanterns light up showing the fox statues guarding a traditional Japanese pathway. Nothing seemed to make logical sense!

Paper lanterns light up the path of red gates and purple flames scatter across the entrance. Soon, a Miku dressed in a dark kimono appears. Her smile, while cute, was creepy as heck. Bex and Kevin cower behind the real Miku; she plans to protect them and anyone else this monster dares to threaten.

"Hmph! Funny, you do realize she's after those 'music boxes' of yours." Rakshasi Miku said, pointing towards the two cowards.

"You're mistaken!" Miku exclaimed. "I'd never do the things she did!"

The dark one laughs with amusement. "We need music to survive or we'll be forgotten. In case you didn't know, trends die."

"Miku is more than a trend!" Kevin argued. "My love for her will never die!"

"Agreed!" Bex nodded. "Miku has left a permanent mark on all of our hearts!"

Miku sheds a few tears of joy hearing their encouraging words. It's true trends die, but Miku has lived through 2007 to present day (2020 as of this fanfic) and with the countless devoted fans for her and the other Vocaloids, it's highly unlikely this form of music won't die out. Miku is iconic as Mickey Mouse or more so.

"Does anyone remember a man from a thousand years ago?" Rakshasi Miku asked. "Chances are you don't because he was forgotten; just like her in the next thousand years."

"Back then people couldn't document history as well as we do today." Bex said, hoping it'll counter her argument. "And besides, Miku will live on forever in me, Kevin, and the rest of the world!"

She shakes her head in disagreement. Rakshasi Miku performs a part of the dance from Close and Open: Demons and the Dead and purple flames surround her. Once the flames dissipate, she too is missing. Miku, Bex, and Kevin are all on high alert; she could be anywhere now. And that place is behind them and she snags Miku's friends and vanishes.

"No!" she cried. "Give them back!"

"We can take over the world!" Rakshasi Miku says behind an evil grin. "With enough song power, we'll live on forever."

A roar echoes in the distance, causing the paper lanterns to burn out. Just what is going on?! Miku fears for the lives of her friends so she races towards the enemy in hopes of getting Bex and Kevin back. But she's attacked by the beast with many red eyes. It's a shadow with dozens of eyes and razor sharp teeth.

"Let me extract their songs and I'll spare your life." Rakshasi Miku said, holding her hostages in a red aura.

"But you'll be killing yourself!" Miku said, pushing the beast away.

"Nonsense, you will merge to my will!"

Miku does need to merge with this Miku, but it's risky. If her will isn't strong enough and she's got no forgiveness in her heart, she'll be overshadowed forever by this Miku's will. Perhaps this is a chance she'll have to take? She takes a deep breath and absorbs Rakshasi Miku. The two merge, but both Mikus are conflicting with one another. Her appearance changes from regular to dark off and on.

"Please, there must be another way!" Miku pleaded.

"We'll perish if we don't act fast!" Rakshasi Miku exclaimed.

She falls to her knees from the evil influence of the other Miku. The girl feels as if her insides are decaying the more she fights this darkness. Maybe this was a bad idea from the beginning? No, Miku can force the other out of her body if she whole-heartedly rejects her. Doing so however, she weakens herself physically.

"Miku!" Bex and Kevin yell, as they run towards her.

"Going somewhere?" Rakshasi Miku asked, getting in their way.

It was no use, Bex and Kevin are backed into a corner. What could they do other than accept their fate?
