Day 9.
Raven stood at the campsite watching the remaining 15 warriors prepare themselves for today's trials.
" Last time, the penguins did an outstanding job on the pedestals, earning 4 crystals, bringing their total to 22, the wolves only collected 3 crystals in the dark cave, bringing their total to 14, the Seals got 3 out of 4 riddles correct in the gypsy's tower and earned 3 crystals, bringing their total to 30, the polar bears although gained three crystals in the cage traps bringing their total to 21, lost Jason in the cage traps, and decided not to buy him back, so after 7 days in the trials, a warrior has perished, we now begin the second half of the trials", said Raven.

" Warriors, welcome to your next challenge, the stepping stones, what you must do, is using the planks provided, make your way across the stones, grabbing the pouches, avoid touching the ground inside the circle, it is cursed, should you do so, you'll perish, this challenge requires your agility, and teamwork", said Raven.
He then left the group as they began their challenge.
With the planks, the penguins moved their way from one stone to another, they did so well, they grabbed the first pouch.
After more success, they went for the second pouch and grabbed it, now they have 2, and if they make it out with them, they'll guarantee to save Dominic, Isabel and Bridget when their time comes.
" We're doing so well, keep it up guys", said Isabel.
And so, after moving their planks around further, they made it to the third pouch, and grabbed it.
Only one more to go.
" Should we leave now, I don't think we'll be able to get it", said Jeanie.
" I think we can get it, it's not that far", said Isabel.
And so, they made their way to the final pouch, however, before they could get it, Jeanie lost footing, and fell off the plank, hitting the ground and vanishing in front of her team.

" Warriors, this is the riddle path, this book will present you a riddle, and you must spell out the answer correctly on the tiles, once you cross the path, you may each take one bag, Bethany, the purple bag is for only you to grab, that has two crystals in it, while the other two bags have one crystal each, this challenge tests your knowledge, good luck", said Raven, leaving the group.
Bethany then approached the book, opening it, revealing the riddles.
I can be many colors.
But I'm not a Rainbow.
I can help you live longer.
Without me, you'll perish.
What am I.
" So who's going to go first", said Bethany.
" I'll do it, I already know the answer anyway", said Michael.
" Do you, what is it", said Ben.
" Water, it helps us live longer, and we'll die without it", said Michael.
" Well, do what you have to do", said Bethany.
And so, Michael stepped on the five tiles with the letters W, A, T, E and R, in the respectful order, and then he reached the other side and got the first pouch.
" Okay it is", said Bethany as she and Ben followed Michael's steps and made it across the path to grab the remaining two pouches.

Once he left the group, the first gong sounded and the team entered the maze.
The group had split up and decided to find their own path.
While Thomas, Charlie and Charlotte were struggling, Samantha was the first to reach the center, and grabbed the first crystal.
While she began to find her way out, the others continued searching for the center.
While the boys were still struggling, Charlotte made it to the center, and grabbed the second crystal.
Meanwhile, Samantha made it out of the maze, and hopped that the others make it out as well.

Raven approached them.
" Warriors, welcome to your next challenge, archery, a challenge that tests your concentration and accuracy, each of you will have 3 arrows, and will fire them at the targets, each time you hit the target, you'll be given a score out of ten, depending on how close you hit the center, each warrior must score a total of 15 in order to win a crystal for their team", said Raven, he then left the group as they begin their challenge.
Oliver went first, took his first arrow, fired his shot at his target, and earned a score of 2.
Tabitha went next, took her first arrow, and fired her shot at her target, and earned a score of 5.
William went third, took his first arrow, fired his shot at his target and earned a score of 10.
" Well done William", said Sophie.
Sophie went next, took her first arrow, fired her shot at her target, earning a score of 2.
If Oliver get's less than 3 on his next shot, he'll fail automatically.
He fires his second shot at the target after aiming, the arrow hits the target, giving him a score of 6, bringing him to a total of 8.
Tabitha was next, if she scores a 10 in her next shot, she'll automatically win.
She fired her next shot, hit the target and earned a score of 4, bringing him to a total of 9.
William was next, if he scores a 5 or higher in his next shot, he'll win automatically.
He fired his next shot, hit the target, and earned a score of 5, bringing him to a total of 15.
" Good on you Will", said Oliver as William took a crystal from the challenge, and set his last arrow aside.
" Good luck you three", said William.
Sophie was next, if she scores less than 3 on her next shot, she'll fail automatically.
She fired her next shot, hit the target, and earned a score of 8, bringing her to a total of 10.
" Come on guys, you can do it", said William.
Oliver went first, to win, he must score a 7 or higher.
He fires his final shot, hits the target, and earns a score of 9, bringing him to a total of 17.
" Good on you Ollie", said William as Oliver grabs a crystal for himself and joins William.
Now it's down to Tabitha and Sophie.
Tabitha was next, to win, she must score a 6 or higher.
She fires her final shot, hits the target, but sadly earned a score of 2, bringing her to a total of 11.
It was now down to Sophie, if she scores a 5 or higher, she'll earn a third crystal for her team on this challenge.
She fires her final shot, hit's the target, and earns a score of 9, bringing her to a total of 19.
Once she grabs her crystal, the team leave the challenge, with 3 crystals.
Back with the seals, Samantha was out of the maze, hoping the rest of her team made it out, especially Charlotte who just got a crystal in the center.
While Charlotte searched for the way out, Thomas and Charlie continued finding the center, and while Thomas still struggled, Charlie made it to the center and grabbed the third crystal, now there was just one more to grab and it's for Thomas to get.
Meanwhile, Charlotte made it out of the maze and joined Samantha, and they hopped the boys make it out as well.
Luckily, Thomas was able to make it to the center, and grabbed the last crystal, and both he and Charlie began finding their way out of the maze.
And before the second gong sounded, Charlie made it out, and Thomas made it out shortly after, all four warriors made it out with all four crystals.
Back with the penguins, Isabel, Dominic and Bridget have just watched Jeanie drop to the ground and perishing, but they managed to get the last gem.
After they grabbed the last gem, the remaining three warriors made their way back to the end of the circle, and they got out.
Isabel, Dominic and Bridget survived the stepping stones with all four crystals, bringing their total to 26.
Raven then approached them.
" Warriors, although you have collected the maximum amount of crystals in this challenge, Jeanie has perished, and as the rules clearly states, a warrior can only be bought back once, so Jeanie is now out of the quest, the journey will continue with just you three", said Raven.
He then left the warriors as they stood there in silence, looking at the spot they lost Jeanie in.
15th place: Jeanie- Penguin= Revived from the Thrall Threads, Eliminated from the Stepping Stones.
The remaining three warriors for the Penguins, Isabel, Dominic and Bridget sat at camp in silence, Raven then approached them.
" Warriors, Jeanie has perished in the stepping stones, leaving you three to continue the quest, how do you feel", said Raven.
" Disappointed, we got got her back a few days ago after losing her in the thrall threads, and then we lose her today", said Dominic.
" Was there any regrets buying her out in the thrall threads, or did you feel that you wasted 8 of your gems on a lost cause", said Raven.
" There was no regrets, we may have wasted 8 of our gems, but we gave her a second chance, I'm sure she would've done the same for us", said Isabel.
Raven approached the three polar bears, as they rested at camp.
" Michael, congratulations on getting the riddle right, the answer to the riddle was water, but, what made you figure it out", said Raven.
" Well, the first part of the riddle confused me, then I saw the second half, without water, we'll perish, so I figured water, I was thinking food at first, but then I thought, what kind of food", said Michael.
" Well, after eight challenges, three of you remain, and have 25 gems, there are still six more challenges to face, anything is possible", said Raven, leaving the group.
The wolves returned to camp, to have a rest after today's challenge, Raven approached them.
" Warriors, today's challenge was a success, William, you only use two shots in archery, and earned a crystal for your team, how do that make you feel", said Raven.
" I feel really great, and confident, I feel that if I continue to be that accurate, I could make it all the way to the end", said William.
" Tabitha, you failed to earn a crystal for your team, do you feel you let them down", said Raven.
" In a way yes, for scoring the lowest in that challenge, but that was just one challenge, and there's still 6 more to play, I feel that I could complete them all and make my failure in archery look like no big deal", said Tabitha.
" After another day over, the Seals still lead the trials with 34 crystals, the penguins are in second with 26, despite losing a warrior themselves, the Polar Bears are in third place with 25, and the wolves are in last place with 17, in two days in a row we have lost two warriors, after the loss of Jeanie, 14 warriors remain, the seals have an incredible lead, but how long will it last", said Raven.
Next time on Raven the ice queen, the Penguins test their memory in the Memory game, the Polar bears test their accuracy in the catapults, the Seals test their strength in the deep loch, and the wolves test their communication in Blind mans bluff, only 12 days remain, and 14 warriors still strive after a loss of another warrior today, will they still make it through to next week when the portal opens.
To be continued.
