AN: This is the last chapter for the summer vacation arc, I had a lot of fun doing it. This is not the end of this story but it's going to end soon. Enjoy the chapter.

Ch 9 Birthday Surprise

July 30th, 2024, 1:30 PM

It's near that time of year, a day that has everyone panicking on what gifts to give. This time of year is Ritsuka's birthday, July thirtieth. The day their beloved master was born. Aphrodite watches on the balcony on her sister's room watching the Servants rushing back and forth from building to building. "I still don't get why humans go overboard on someone's day of birth." The Goddess of Love said. she turns around and saw her sister wrapping a present box in her colors.

"Oh sister, we have birthdays to celebrate a human's birth into the world." Artemis tied a blue bow on her gift to her master. "Today is the day that master was born."

"I see, no wonder everyone is asity today." Aphrodite lit her cigarette.

Orion stumbles on the table holding a small box that is wrapped in green wrapping paper. "Well it's master, he deserves the best after all he did for us." The bear places his gift on top of Artemis's before she picks him up.

"Though, we do not really know what he wants. He hasn't disclosed to us what he desires the most." The Goddess place Orion on her head. "That's why all of us get him presents he might like."

Aphrodite puffs out a smoke observing everyone down below. "Well maybe I should get something for the human," she said walking back inside.

Ritsuka sat before Romani being held by his mother. "Come on Romani, come to daddy." He urges his son to walk over to him.
"Go on Romani, walk to daddy." Mashu watches her son trying to get a feel of moving his tiny legs. After seeing his legs moving bit by bit on his own, she places him down gently on the floor carefully holding him as he tries to walk.

Romani giggles taking baby steps over to his father. Soon Mashu lets go of his side, watching her son toddle over to her husband. "Go Romani, go. You can do it." She cheers on her son.

"Come on, come here, Romani." Ritsuka smiles brightly seeing their son walking his first steps.

Romani smiles, toddling over to him, once he got close to his father he tumbles on his lap. He looks up and giggles. "Good job, buddy." Ritsuka playfully gasps lift his son in the air. "You took your first steps!" he cheered.

The small child giggles in his father's arms feeling proud of what he accomplished. Ritsuka sets Romani back on the floor, holding him on the sides. "Now go back to mommy, can you do that?" he looks at his son.

Mashu knelt on the floor holding out her hands. "Come here Romani, come to mommy." Romani saw his mother's open arms and toddles over to her,

"Nah!" He fell into her arms and giggles, proud that he made the same feat that made his father happy.

"Good job, Romani. That's good my little hero." Mashu gave kisses to her son's chubby cheeks.

Ritsuka smiles then look to his side where Fou watches the family moment between the three. He opens his hand, letting the Beast climb his arms and on his shoulder. "Fou, Fou," Fou said to Ritsuka.

"I know Fou, he's growing fast soon he'll be able to talk." Ritsuka walks over to Mashu and Romani.

Mashu nuzzles Romani as he went into a giggling fit. She looks at Ritsuka, holding their son in her arms lovingly. "Ritsuka, he has grown so much during the month. Romani-kun is getting bigger each day." She stood up from the floor still clutching their son.

A knock from the door caught the family's attention. "I'll go see who it is." Ritsuka walks over to the door and opens the door. He opens it to see Hermione holding a robotic owl, "Hermione? What is it?"

Hermione took in a deep breath before answering. "So when I was out in town doing some last-minute shopping before we head back to Britain when I stumble to this mechanical owl." She shows the owl, the owl is once side pinkish-white and other chrome black with blinking lights. The talons beak and the surrounding of the eyes were golden, the eyes were black like it was shut off. The one thing noticeable about the owl is the huge hole on the side, setting off sparks.

"I was thinking this might be Da Vinci's inventions she might've lost so-"

Ritsuka took the owl from her hands and examine it. "Ritsuka?" Hermione was shocked by the sudden grab.

"FOU! FOU!" Fou exclaims at the sight of the owl.

"It can't be you," Ritsuka turns the mechanical owl side to side. "It is! What happen-"

"Ritsuka, who's at the-MINERVA-SAN!" Mashu gasps at the sight of the owl.

"Wait, you know this owl?" Hermione asked the two.

Ritsuka rushes to get his phone and dial Da Vinci. -ZZZ- Hello- -ZZZ-

"Da Vinci get Archimedes here right away. It's an emergency!" Ritsuka hung up his phone and rush over to the living area and place down Minerva down on a pillow. "Don't worry Minerva, we'll fix you right up."

Hermione enters the suite watching Ritsuka care for the strange machine. "Mashu, can you take Romani to the other room?" he asked his wife.

Mashu nodded. "Alright, make sure you take care of Minerva-san, Ritsuka-kun." She went inside their room to play with him.

Hermione walks up to Ritsuka tending to the Minerva. "Ritsuka, how do you know that strange owl?" she asked him.

Ritsuka wraps Minerva in a towel for Archimedes and Da Vinci to look at later. "She helped us escape the Olympians Gods along what remains of the Godbreaker Alliance and further on the Lostbelt." He explains. "By the root whoever done this to Minerva must've known who she really is."

"Minerva? As in-"Hermione covers her mouth after piecing the puzzle in her mind. "She's Athena's owl isn't she." She trails off, seeing the damaged owl.

Ritsuka only nods, "What has Zeus told me, it's no surprise that someone would try to harm Minerva." The doors open to Da Vinci and Archimedes, the two turn around seeing the Casters.

"Fujimaru, what is-I see." Da Vinci saw the owl in the towel. "Now I understand why you call both of us here."

"It seems that our expertise in mechanics is needed here Da Vinci," Archimedes tries to lighten the mood.

Ritsuka smiles a bit before apologizing to them. "I'm sorry for calling you two away from upgrading the Storm Border for this."

Da Vinci laughs, "Nonsense Fujimaru, anything you ask we don't mind." She walks over to the Minerva.

Archimedes nodded, unwrapping the owl of the Goddess of Wisdom. "We're practically done with the upgrades, especially when P-"

Da Vinci covers the mouth of the Mathematician's mouth. "Now, now, Archimedes we don't want to spoil anything now don't we." She laughs.

"Spoil?" Hermione questioned.

Ritsuka laughs seeing the two getting along. "Fine, I won't pry." He looks at the mechanical owl and back at the two inventors. "Can you repair her?"

The Mathematician picked up the owl and checks the hole on her side. "Mmmm, from my guess of things, Minerva was trying to escape someone and was inflicted with this injury." Archimedes concluded. "It'll take some time to repair her properly,"

"Agree, her parts are extremely rare to come by." Da Vinci added, "With the Adamantine under Seraphix, we can get the plating but external parts need to research."

"Why? Can't you two use spare parts out of anything for Minerva?" Hermione questioned, intrigue by the topic.

"We can't" Archimedes claims and wraps the owl again. "This is a masterpiece from the Age of Gods, one created by Lady Athena herself. Any parts we use for her will lower her capabilities; we need something similar to use."

Ritsuka nodded understanding what the Caster is saying. "So for now, we have to place her to the side until parts of the same or similar will be found." He sighs,

Da Vinci looks at Ritsuka with worried eyes. "Don't worry, well place her in stasis so her Mana won't expire." She smiles.

"I know,"

Hermione just watches them trying to comfort Ritsuka. "H-Hey, it's your birthday Ritsuka. Why not just enjoy the day and worry about Minerva later." She tries to change the subject.

"She has a point." Da Vinci said. "Go and have fun today." She urges her master to relax and enjoy the last week of his vacation.

Ritsuka nodded, "Alright, I will."

Later that night Archimedes and Da Vinci return to the Wandering Sea with Minerva.

Everyone has gathered on the beach where food, music, and gifts for Ritsuka. Every Servants and Chaldeans were there enjoying their last night before they set off for the New Order.

The Granger family was there too, the memories of the battle were replaced by some girl being drunk and the Servants try to calm her down. Goldolf was creative in changing the minds of the mundane after seeing Mysteries.

"I say, this was the most fun I ever had." Moriarty drank away his special concocted alcohol. "Come master, join me in this celebratory drink." The Crime Lord handed a mug of the alcohol over to his master.

"Yeah (Hic) join us master (Hic)." Fergus urges him. "Even (Hic) even Jing Ke has some of (Hic) fabulous elixir." The Saber fell on the ground, drunk.

Ritsuka smiles turning to the Assassin who was in a drinking competition with Drake. "GAH! Come on Rider, can you beat that?" Jing Ke smiles at the Woman who brought down the Sun.

Drake finished her mug and slams it on the table. "Of course I (Hic) can Assassin. I just (Hic) finished mine." She smirks at her.

"S-Sister, (Hic) don't leave me (Hic)" Castor leans on Pollux's shoulder, sitting on the sandy beach.

Pollux smiles, petting her brother's head. "Hehehe, Lord Brother. You're so adorable when you're drunk." She smiles.

"I'm good. I don't want to get drunk in front of Romani." Ritsuka smiles holding his hands out, refusing the drink. He turns to Mashu showing Hermione, Daphne, Jasmine, Hinako, Dawn, and Luna their son toddling over to her. They all cheered once Romani toddles over on Mashu's lap.

Moriarty shrugs his shoulders. "Suite yourself," He continues to drink his alcohol.

Ginny, Fred, and George walked over to Ritsuka with cups of fruit punches in their hands. "Seeing you refuse a drink; we figure that we at least give you fruit punch instead." The red-haired handed over the plastic cup.

Ritsuka obliges taking the cup. "Thank you," he took a sip of the drink.

"It's a,"

"way to thank,"

"You for everything, including,"

"This vacation." The twins thanked their future boss.

Ritsuka smiles at them. "It's the least I can do for you all after Hogwarts." he looks at the cup with a worried expression.

Ginny and her brothers notice his change in mood. "Is this about Minerva?" She asked causing Ritsuka to look at her. "Hermione and Mashu told me,"

"Who's Minerva?" Fred asked before being shoved by his brother.

George leans into his twin's ears. "Fred, it's the owl that Hermione found in the ally." He whispers.

Fred's eyes widen and his mouth in an O shape, "Sorry, Ritsuka."

"It's fine, Da Vinci and Archimedes are figuring out how to repair her," Ritsuka informs them. "By the way, are you all set for the test?"

They nodded, "Yes we are,"

Ginny then thought for a moment after realizing something. "By the way, when are we leaving for the New Order? You haven't told us the date."

Fred and George nodded, confirming their sister's claims. "Oh that," Ritsuka sheepishly smiles. "I haven't got around to that part."

The three fell on the floors after hearing that he hasn't set a date to depart. "REALLY!" their reaction was understandable.

"Hey, Koyanskaya was my secretary," Ritsuka admitted to the three of them. "She usually schedules my appointments with the UN, Association, and important dates."

"Hey, I'm on vacation here Fujimaru." they turn to Koyanskaya in her Chinese garb. "I just planned your wedding in a day, mama needs her down time." She huffs away with a glass of wine.

"Fou," Fou sighs at the Alter Ego's reason why she hasn't been doing her work.

Ritsuka turns to the three. "I'll inform you when we're leaving." He smiles at them.

"Okay, we're waiting for that." Ginny looks to see more punch being served near the buffet. "Hey they added more punch," she walks over there before seeing Ann and Mary.

Fred felt his stomach growl. "George, I'm going to grab some grub, want to join me?" he asked his twin, hearing his stomach growls,

"Why not, I'm hungry too." They walk over to the buffet grabbing something to eat.

"Fujimaru." Ritsuka turns around to Goldolf and Holeth along with a couple of Mages from the Association.

"Goldolf, what is it?" Ritsuka asked the head of the Musik Family.

Goldolf straightens his ascot and clears his throat. "Fujimaru, Lady Barthomeloi wants to know why you haven't chosen Mages for this expedition of yours. You have only chosen those wizards, not anyone else." He asked with a serious expression.

Ritsuka knew this was coming, yet he avoided it. "Look Goldolf, those Mages on the list are…a bit too much for the likes of Chaldea. However two caught my interest,"

"Oh? And who they might be Lord Fujimaru?" Holeth asked the young Lord.

Ritsuka told the Mages names, surprised he chosen those two. "From the Modern Magecraft Theories? Isn't that Lord El-Melloi II's former class?" A female Magus asked her fellow Mages.

"Yeah, no it's run by the Weins Family after the Lord and Lady Reines joined Chaldea." The other Magus said.

"Also the lady's son? He's exceptional, but having Lady Barthomeloi's son accompanying you?"

"It's a personal request from Lorelei, she wants him to know what's he going to face when he takes the mantle of head of the Bathomeloi Family." Ritsuka sighs, scratching his head. "He's good with enhancing and wind Magecraft like his mother, an asset for Chaldea's staff."

Goldolf nods understood why he has only chosen two candidates out of the list. "Then why didn't you send a message to the Association!?" He scolded the director.

"I forgot." Ritsuka gave a light smile to everyone.

Soon everyone gathered around the table where Ritsuka and his family. They sang the traditional happy birthday song to Humanity's final master. Emiya brought in Ritsuka's birthday cake, a cake that was shaped as the Chaldea Security Organization base. "Wow, Emiya. This cake is impressive." Ritsuka praises Archer's baking skills.

"Much appreciated master." Emiya inclines his head, feeling proud of what he did.

"Hey master, blow out the candles!" Astolfo urges his master.

Charlie chuckles at his knight's excitement when it comes to a celebration. "Rider be patient. Ritsuka is going to blow his candles, just wait." He chuckles.

"Well? Hurry up and make a wish Ritsuka." Kadoc smirks at his friend about to blow his candles.

Peperoncino and Hinako laughs at Kadoc. "Geez, not you too Kadoc dear." Peperoncino jokes.

"I think Rider is rubbing off on Kadoc, Pepe." Hinako jokes along with the former mercenary.

Kadoc blushed red like a tomato and huffs away. "S-Shut up, both of you." he was being petted on the back by Anastasia trying to comfort him.

"Don't mind them, master Kadoc." The Lostbelt Servant comforts her former master. "I kind of find it cute." She smiles causing her former master to blushed bright red.

"Make a wish, Big brother!" Alice jumps on the table.

"Yeah, yeah, make a wish daddy!" Jack joins in with Alice.

"Alright, alright." Ritsuka leans in and blew his candles.

Everyone cheered for the Magus. "HAPPY TWENTY-FIRST BIRTHDAY, MASTER!" his Servants cheered.

"Congratulations Mr. Fujimaru on your birthday," Edward congratulates her daughter's future boss.

"Yes, we're happy for you." Dawn smiles at him.

"Hey, Big Brother what's your birthday wish?" Abby asked her brother figure,

Paul steps in realizing what the Foreigner just did. "F-Foreigner! You can't ask something like that on their birthday!" The Berserker scolded her. "A birthday wish is for master to keep, not say it out loud!"

Abby covers her mouth remembering the rule. She turns to her master and inclines her head. "S-So sorry, Big Brother." Abby apologies to him.

"It's fine, Abby. But Berserker does have a point." Ritsuka decides to play along with Paul's claims. "My wish is a secret one."

Abby nodded before Okita in her swimsuit kicks the cake in the air. "Enough talk, time for cake!" She drew her blade and slice the huge cake into equal pieces for everyone.

"Way to go, Saber." Saitō complements his comrade's skills with her katana.

Everybody got a slice of the birthday cake and enjoy the taste of it. Aphrodite walks over to her new master and hands over a small box. "Here human, a gift from a Goddess."

Ritsuka looks at the gift and smiles at Aphrodite. "Thank you, Assassin." He unwraps it, revealing three gems colored as the three primary colors. "Gems?" he asked.

Aphrodite gave a light chuckle, "I heard that you practice Magecraft from my sister, even if I didn't see it when we battle." She looks away. "Be grateful that I even gave you a present on your day of birth."

Ritsuka took the gems and lift one by one in the light. "I see this is infused with Mana…wait, ELEMENTAL GEMS!?" he gasps feeling the power from them.

"Yes, I found them in a cave where they are gathering the Mana from the Island." The Goddess informs him. "I also heard that you know runes, but barely used it-"

Ritsuka shook his head, "Not true, for each gem, I imbue runes magic to amplify their power."

"I see, then you should know the elemental runes to use them on your blade." The Assassin added.

Ritsuka places the gems back in the box and smiles at the Assassin Servant. "Thank you, Assassin." Aphrodite huffs and walks away feeling something she hasn't felt for a long time.

It soon turns dark and the party is going on, Ritsuka was talking with Bartholomew, Kingu, and Fionn before noticing the Granger parents walking up to him. "Uh, can you three give me a moment?" Ritsuka asked his Servants.

"Of course master," Bartholomew inclines his head, walking away with Kingu and Fionn.

Ritsuka looks at the Granger parents. "How was this vacation you two?" he asked them.

"Relaxing, and interesting." Dawn smiles at him.

Edward agrees with his wife. "We never been this relax for a long time; we would like to thank you before we leave tomorrow."

"You're all pack then?" Ritsuka asked receiving nods from the parents. He got up and held out his hands to the parents. "It's was a pleasure to meet both of you,"

Edward shook his hand and smiles at him. "Same here, we're confident that you'll take care of our little girl."

Dawn took Ritsuka's hands and held them tightly. "Ritsuka, I hope you take our advice before when we had lunch at the wonderful beach house."

Ritsuka nodded, "I will don't worry I will visit them when I return to Chaldea."

Dawn nodded before turning to Mashu holding Romani's little hand as he tries to learn to walk. "Oh, are we interrupting something?" Mashu asked the three.

"Da!" Romani held out his other hand wanting to be held by his father.

Ritsuka picks up his son and held him close to his chest. "No you aren't, we're just talking. Last-minute stuff Mashu." He smiles at his wife.

"Oh, I see." Mashu walks over to her husband playing with Romani's tiny hands.

Dawn can't help but adore the small family. "You three look so adorable together." she smiles. "It reminds me of our own family back when Hermione and Jasmine were just toddlers, right Edward?"

Edward just chuckles at his wife's comment. "Of course dear, such fond memories of being early parents." He smiles, reminiscing the time of his daughters being toddlers. "My word of advice for you two, enjoy the time with your son. Children will grow fast before you know it,"

Mashu nodded. "Thank you for the advice, Edward-san. We'll take it to heart." She thanked Hermione's father.

"I appreciate the advice from both of-"

"MOM, DAD! Fireworks are going off!" Jasmine shouts before staring up at the night sky.

The parents and child staring up at the sky seeing the colorful light show as it brightens the night. "This is probably the best moments of my life." Ritsuka looks at Mashu who stares at him back.

"Same here, I love you Ritsuka." Mashu places a kiss on his cheeks before Romani squirms in Ritsuka's arms.

Mashu giggles and kiss him too. Ritsuka stares back at the night sky, ready to save Humanity once again not for the people of this world, but his family and friends. More importantly for Romani's future.

Wandering Sea July 30th, 2024, 11:56 PM

Da Vinci went inside her workshop within the Storm Border, she places Minerva in a stasis pod to prevent any more of her Mana from draining. She went over to her keypad and scan the owl for external injuries. "Mmmm," after the scan the analysis came back.

The Caster looked and saw the result. "Well, this might be tricky to repair her." Da Vinci said.

Archimedes walk in with some left over adamantine from the Border's outer plating. "How's our patient?" he asked the renaissance woman.

"Not that great, there still some parts we need one more part for her to be repaired. A Divine core." Da Vinci concluded. "I can scrounge up some parts that are similar to the damage ones, however."

"Without the Divine core, she won't be operational." Archimedes sighs, he turns around to the two strangers entering the room. "What is you two's take on this?"

A woman with curly red hair and blue eyes steps forward. She wore a brown jacket and a blue scarf, on her legs are grey pants and black boots. On her head are a pilot's hat and goggles. "Mmmm, I'm not sure why you're asking me sugar." The woman said. "I'm just the navigator on this fine ship, Lancer?" she turns to the old man next to her.

The old man has light blue skin, a white beard, and long wavey hair. He wore a blue toga and a crown on his head. He looks at Minerva seeing the damaged owl, "A Divine core is tricky to get, we need to defeat an enemy God of the same origins as Minerva." He sadly said,

"So our best hope is to go to dimension 103, defeat the Olympian who resides there, and retrieve the Divine core from the body." Archimedes concluded, "Great just what we need, a side mission."

Da Vinci shook her head. "No, this ties in on what we need to do on the New Order." The Caster said, she looks at the woman next to Lancer. "Can you find a way to get to this dimension Foreigner?"

Foreigner smiles, tugging on her latex gloves. "Hon, I'm practically the only one here that can guide us through the interdimensional plain. The Outer God within me can go trough dimension like a breeze with a black hole." She walks out of the sliding doors. "Just give me a few hours to put on the coordinates with the Captain and we're good to go."

Lancer nodded walking out of the workshop, "I'll see if the Power Core is ready when we depart. If you excuse me fellow Chaldeans." He said before exiting the room.

"To think he would send his own brother here," Archimedes commented, a bit shocked that he was able to be summoned.

Da Vinci nodded. "He is quite powerful; I know from experience."

"I wonder how the Captain is doing." The mathematician wonders what the Rider is feeling right now.

"Probably seething with rage," Da Vinci chuckles before getting up from her seat. "Welp, I better go and prepare the evaluation test, make sure Minerva is alright Archimedes." She waves at her fellow Caster Servant, walking out of the workshop.

Archimedes nods and went to check on the owl's condition.
