I open my eye to see Kitty and Marshall looking down on me. "I-i-i'm a-a-a-a-alive!" I stammer. "Of course you are!" Kitty says. "He's so bloody, I can't tell where Maximus stabbed him!" Marshall says. "We can't wash him off if were in a forest!" Chase adds. Kitty joins in. "I thought you boys are smarter than that! Watch and learn." She starts to lick my arm."Oww, it stings!" I moan. I feel sticky! Kitty stops mid lick and says, "Sorry Ryder, I just have to clean you up so Marshall can fix you up!" "I c-c-can't b-b-breath!" I stammer. "Ruff, Ruff, Oxygen!" Marshall barks. "Here you go! This should help a bit." Zuma walks up, "Kitty I think your really smart for coming up with that Idea." Rocky recovers from being speechless. "How did you do that?! I thought for sure we weren't in Adventure Bay a few minutes ago!" "That's because we weren't." Kaya says.

"Oww!" I yell. "Sorry Ryder! Try to be still..." Kitty says apologetically. "Hmm, Ryder, You've been through a lot, You're SOO bloody!" "Kitty, you've got a long way to go, want some help?" Zuma asks. "Sure, Start over there, This arms almost done. Well, maybe," She says. "Ok Kitty, I can see where he's bleeding on this arm. Ryder, please be still." Marshall says. "OWW! Th-th-that h-h-h-hurts!" I'm still crying. Kitty starts to lick the bloody tears off of my face. "It's going to be okay Ryder. Calm down. You're okay." She strokes my hair with her paw. That actually feels nice. I kinda like it. I start to drift into sleep.

"Ryder fell asleep." I say. I have to turn myself back into a person. I have an Idea of how i'm going to do it. This diamond I found has magic inside of it! It's so awesome! AND PURPLE! But, that's not the best thing in my life. Ryder is! "I don't think he's going to make it, pups." Marshall says. "Of course he will make it! He's a trooper! he's got a fighter spirit! He WILL make it! We just need to keep trying!" I yowl. feeling my fur grow hot. I can't believe he would say that! We just have to make Ryder comfortable until Marshall has him all bandaged up! Hmmm, Oh, I know! I laid down and curled up next to him. Man, he's definitely feverish. I hope his temperature isn't to high. "Hey Marshall, He's really warm." I explain. "What about checking his temperature?" "Good Idea. Ruff, ruff, thermometer! WOW! now THAT'S a fever!" Marshall says. I know enough in medical stuff that if you have a temperature of 104, you're in the danger zone.

"We need to get him home, FAST!" I need to get on my emergency medical disaster hear!" Marshall says. My diamond starts to glow. I close my eyes and imagine the Lookout Tower. Everything gets glittery, and the forest disappears. in it's place, is the Lookout Tower. We carry Ryder to his bedroom. Marshall continues bandaging his wounds, while I continue licking the ones he hasn't tended to yet. Ryder wakes up after Marshall is halfway done. "Oww!" he moans. "Shhhh, it's okay! you're alright." I say. Marshall finishes up, lastly fixing his eye. "He might lose sight in that eye. It hasn't stopped bleeding, like most of his wounds. The bandages will need to be replaced regularly." Marshall explains to me. "Consider it done!" I say. I will do anything for him to live through this. he moans again. "Can you somehow get him to stop doing that?" Marshall complains. "No, Marshall. He can't help it!" I say. my fur growing hot again. Those pups! Always trying to get Ryder to do what THEY want!. He moans again.

"Oww!" I wake up and feel like I've been set on fire! "Shh, it's going to be okay. you're a trooper, you've got this!" Kitty says. She starts stroking my hair again. I sighed. I guess I never thought it would feel so nice. Probably soft on her paws to. Kitty starts to sing softly. "I can feel you all around me, thickening the air I'm breathing! holding on to what I'm feeling savoring this heart that heals! Take my hand and give it to you, now you want me all I am, you said you would never leave me I believe you I believe! I can feel you all around me thickening the air i'm breathing! Holding on to what i'm feeling, savoring this heart that heals!"

I can't help but start to smile. For a heartbeat, I feel no pain. But then she falls asleep, and I yawn. "Oww!" Yawning hurts my throat. REALLY bad. At least I don't feel sticky anymore. I sigh. Kitty's paw feels soft and warm on my forehead. I cough. "Oww!" Coughing hurts too? Dang, what can I do that doesn't hurt or cause me stress anymore? Kitty yawns. That was a short nap. "I'm alive, i'm alive, i'm alive!...I can feel you all around me!... thickening the air i'm breathing!...holding on to what I'm feeling!...savoring this heart that heals!" I start to drift into a fitful sleep.

"I'm alive, i'm alive, i'm alive!...I can feel you all around me!... thickening the air i'm breathing!...holding on to what I'm feeling!...savoring this heart that heals!" as I sing these words, Ryder falls asleep. Marshall comes in to check on him. "Is he okay?" He asks. "He's fine at the moment. I think he'll pull through."I say. "I'm not so sure, he's lost a lot of blood, he's most likely anemic. Um, that mea-" I interrupt him. "I know what being anemic means!" I snap. Marshall steps back a few paces. "I'm sorry, I didn't think you were familiar with medical terms and stuff." Marshall explains.

I sigh. Back when I was a human, I took some medical classes as an early start to college. It all started when Herald asked me out. He's the most popular guy in Adventure Bay besides Ryder. When he wants something, he gets it. and when he doesn't get what he wants, he gets his revenge. I learned this the hard way. He asked me out at the Adventure Bay Annual Fall Dance. Well, I had a crush-And still do-on Ryder. So, as you can imagine, I said "Thank you in advance, I don't wanna dance! I don't need your hands all over me!" and as I said "If I want a man, imma get a man." I looked over at Ryder, And winked. I think thats what set Herald off. He turned me into a fox and tried to run me out of town.

I think it's time Ryder knew the truth, he needs to know I haven't left him behind.
