Unwelcomed terms of event
A day has passed since the events of the Forever Falls, most of team RWBY (and Jade) had just completed their last lesson of the day with Doctor Oobleck. Jade for the most part was still rather baffled at his lesson. (man drinks caffeine like its water over here and speaks like a motorboat on max power.) The team were walking back to their dorm as Ruby, Weiss and Yang were discussing Doctor Oobleck's lesson about Vale's history, Blake decided asked Jade something.
"Jade, do you still have any plans later?" Blake asked.
"Not really, got something on your mind Blake?" Jade responds back.
"Well… I was thinking of going to Vale to visit one of the book stores and I don't mind you tagging along." Blake answered honestly.
"Hmm… I suppose I can come along, I need to get some food from the grocery stalls so for a surprise I'm planning for myself. But mostly, I need some time to distract myself from Doctor Oobleck's lesson earlier." Jade admitted the last part Blake giggled which Jade unknowingly blushed before giving a response.
"Well I suppose spending some time outside would help one forgets Doctor Oobleck's lessons. But… Surprise? What are you planning?" Jade had a smirk on his face and just put his finger on his lips without giving an answer. Yang being all curious what the two were talking about stopped her conversation with Ruby and Weiss and decides to intervene. (In her own way)
"Hey Guys!" She wrapped her arms around Jade and Blake much to their annoyance as Yang had continuously teased both of them both constantly about their relationship.
"What are you two talking about?" she asked. Both glared at Yang while refusing to speak while she had a shit-eating grin on her face. Yang seeing the tension build up attempts to lower it.
"Oh come on you two, why you gotta be so tense when I'm around? Is it because both of you are hiding something from me here?" She asked as both Blake and Jade continued to glare at Yang, Jade being the first to coincide sighed before speaking.
"Well if you must insist Yang… Both Blake and I are planning to pick up some stuff from Vale later today, I need to pick up some food from the grocery stalls while Blake needs to pick up her book which I agreed to come along." Jade answered Yang while giving a deadpan expression on his face while speaking.
"So you two are going on a date after you got what you need?" Yang pounced on the opportunity to teased them some more. Upon hearing What Yang had said, Jade's cat ears twitch in annoyance as his face begins to redden at the thought of both of them being lovers. Blake was no better than Jade, her face also begins to redden and she looked away from Yang and face someone else.
"We should get going." Jade mumbled to Blake.
"yep" She agreed as both of them walked away faster resulting in a confused Ruby and Weiss and a chuckling Yang.
Much later at Vale...
Both Blake and Jade walked past some shops down the streets as they began to chat about Vale itself.
"So, I assume it's your first time actually walking in Vale?" She asked.
"yea, first time arriving in Vale was only to get beaten and recruited into Beacon."
Blake giggles which made Jade flushed and his heart fluttered before his thoughts ran wild,
"What was that? Am I in love? Oh boy... I mean I do enjoy her presence." His thoughts were stopped midway as Blake continued talking.
"There were many times when we would go to Vale without you because you would refused to come along, can you tell me why?" Blake asked him as they continued walking.
"There were multiple reasons, firstly, I was content with staying in Beacon and I didn't see the need to leave. and secondly, I like books ok." Jade gave a sloppy excuse as they both arrived at Tukson's bookshop.
"Oh... bookshop, I assume this is the for you book?" Jade asked as Blake pushed open the door.
"Yes this is the place." she says back as she enters the bookshop.
"Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade how can I help ya? Oh, Blake Welcome!" Tukson greeted back.
"It's good to see you again Tukson." Blake says back.
"And who is this with you?" Tukson pointed at Jade before continuing on.
"Is he your boyfriend?" He asked genuinely.
Both of them ran red in the face before Jade intervened.
"I'm... just her friend but people always assume that we are together. But please, call me Jade." Jade says back with a deadpanned expression despite his redden face, his thoughts however were different.
"WHAT THE HELL AM I SAYING!" Jade yelled in his head with a straight face
Tukson let out a hearty laugh before turning to Blake, "I assume it's the usual?"
"Yes the usual." Blake let it out as she tried to get herself under control from her thoughts related to Jade.
"And what can I do for you Jade?" Tukson turned to Jade and asked him.
"I'll just look around thank you, if I need help, I'll come to you." Jade says back as he began surveying the bookshelves.
As Tukson returned to the back of his shop to retrieve Blake's requested book, Jade on the other hand was surveying though the wide collections of books, his eyes were wide with curiosity like a child in a candy shop. Sci Fi, history, Fictional, Non-fictional and many more. So many books so little time to read. Jade continued surveying until he come across the 'Forbidden Book' Jade being curious cat took the book out of the shelves and took a look in a random page and paragraph.
'And with that, he thrust with all his might, releasing his load into her, her breast moved with every thrust and her moans echoed throughout the house much to his pleasure.' As soon as he read that, He slammed the book shut while blushing and breathing heavily with his eyes were a bit foggy, he then looked at the front page of the book and its title is, 'Ninja of Love' Seeing this Jade put it away and told himself.
"Curiosity kills the cat Jade, Curiosity kills the cat. What the hell I read? what if Blake saw me, would she see me as a pervert? WAIT, WHY AM I CONCERN AT WHAT SHE THINKS OF ME!" his thoughts ran and ran before hearing footsteps approaching towards him.
Blake heard a book slammed shut, believing something had happened to Jade she went to check on him only to see him putting a book away while his face was red as Ruby's cape.
"Are you ok Jade?" She asked as he obviously flinched at her words.
"Yea... peachy." He answers back to assure her that everything is fine though it's not.
"Are you sure? You are red all in the face, are you well?" Blake got closer to Jade as he continues to be red in the face.
"yea did you get your book?" Jade attempts to change the topic.
"I did but my concern is with you right now, now again are you well?" She asked more strictly this time as Jade's heart fluttered that she cared for him.
"Yes Blake I'm good, we should go now, I still need to buy food for the surprise I'm planning to make." Jade says to her as he began to walk out of the bookstore.
"Take care Blake." Tukson waved at Blake who nodded and waved back as she exits the bookstore. Jade can be seen outside the bookstore, no longer as red as he was earlier on and with his scroll out reading a list that he put into his scroll.
"So Jade, what do you need for your surprise?" She asked Jade who was reading the list on his scroll.
"Well I need Salmon." Blake bow twitched a bit which Jade noticed and smiled before continuing, "Some herbs and spices, prawns, vegetables, crab meat, lemons, rice and some eggs. The rest we have back in our dorm kitchen."
"That's, quite a list you have there, are you preparing dinner or sorts?" Blake asked Jade.
"I suppose it's not much of a secret if I tell you right now, but yes, I am indeed preparing dinner for our team." Jade says with his face showing a hint of joy and happiness at it.
"You can cook?" Blake asked with a hint of surprise in her voice.
"Well yes, I can indeed cook, it's just that I never get the chance to do it at all." That was a lie Jade come up with, it originates from the dream that Jade had that shows the boy that looks ridiculously similar with him minus the cat ears and long hair enjoying dinner with his family with him being the youngest of the family, they all looked so happy eating together and he wanted to try doing it. For the team he considered his family even though it's only been months he had spent with them. Jade can't help but to feel a sense of wonder if he would ever meet his biological parents at all in the future.
"Jade?"
"Hmm? Sorry, I was thinking of something." he apologised.
"I believe we stood long enough here, should go and get your-" She didn't manage to finished her sentence as both their stomachs grumbled at the same time. Both of them are understandably embarrassed, at what just happened. Blake giggled while Jade nervously laughed before suggesting an idea.
"It seems that both of us could use some food, how about eating at the café before going on to buy groceries and then head back?" He suggested without thinking, only to realised what he said.
"I did not just seriously ask Blake for a date, did I? Oh boy..." He internally sighed at his brashness.
Blake was also in the same situation as Jade, "Did he just asked me on a date? I mean he's been kind and friendly and good-looking despite where he's from but, is he saying it out because of our situation or..." she cut out her thoughts as Jade looked at her expecting an answer
"It would be nice to grab a bite before shopping." Blake smiled back at Jade who returned one as well.
Much later at a café,
Blake and Jade could be seen sitting in a café and enjoying with their respective cakes and tea. Jade chose to have cheese cake while Blake chose to have strawberry cheese cake, both of them choose to have tea as their drinks. As of yet both are unaware that the other is having the same thoughts. "I can believe I agree to go out on a date with him/her."
Hoping to enjoy his time with Blake, Jade tried to start a conversation. "so... how's you cheese cake?
"It's good." she replied back.
"Good." He muttered
…
"Blake, this may be out of nothing but..."
"But?"
"I... never mind..." Jade shot himself down from asking Blake a stupid question.
"I see... Jade?"
"Yea Blake?"
"what did you read earlier in Tukson's Book Shop that caused you to slam it shut?" She asked
"I... I... it's not safe for work let's just leave it at that..." Jade hesitantly refused to tell her what it is though is face reddening is not helping him in the slightest.
"Are you sure? whatever it is, it got you very nervous and besides, your face is red again." Blake blatantly used her fork to point at Jade's redden face.
"yea... I prefer if we don't talk about it." Jade continued to refuse telling her that he just read a paragraph Ninja's of Love to save his own pride.
"But... I like it? it's definitely smut no doubt. Why can't I stop thinking about it?" Jade's thoughts continued to wonder as both himself and Blake continued to enjoy their meal.
After both of them had finished their tea, Jade with the help of Blake went to the grocery stall to buy all what Jade they needed. While Jade was searching for herbs and spices, Blake tried to silently left tuna in the shopping basket for herself, but Jade noticed it and turned a blind eye for her, all with an unaware smile on his face as he continued searching.
"Hey Blake?"
"Hmm?"
"Do the rest of our team eat prawns? I don't wish to get food that could give them allergies." He questioned.
"last time I checked, I don't think any of them had any allergies." Blake answered back
"Excellent." Jade stated back.
Jade and Blake approached the snacks and chocolates with nearly all the stuff that both of them wished to buy, Jade was distracted with him slightly drooling at milk chocolate bars on the shelfs much to Blake's amusement which he was not aware of before he grabbed bar for himself. Once Jade had paid for the food he had bought, both of them made their way back to beacon. What both of them would not admit as of right now, is that they really enjoyed their time alone with each other and the feelings they had for each other but as of yet, they won't admit it to each other.
As both Jade and Blake walked down the corridors of beacon, Jade spoke.
"You know, I really enjoyed our time together. We should do this more often." Jade admitted to Blake.
"I have to agree with you, this was nice." Blake also agreed.
Once both of them had reached their dorm and entered it, none of team RW_Y could be seen inside. This earned the confusion of Jade as they should be back in their dorm before he and Blake had come back.
"Huh, where did they go?" Jade muttered.
"They could had gone somewhere else." she says back.
"Oh well, you just do what you wish to do, I need to prepare dinner for our team."
"What about JNPR? it would be rather rude to leave them out of the surprise you are cooking."
"you... make a point. Guess I just have to make a bigger batch for everyone, good thing I bought more than was necessary." Jade just shrugged as he walked towards the dorm's kitchen with the groceries in hand.
"I suppose that's a good thing?"
"Yep." Jade acknowledged as he walked into the dorm kitchen.
"Blake." Jade called out from the kitchen.
"Yes Jade?"
"Can you do me a favour and inform both our team and JNPR to come here around six? Dinner would be ready by then, also, don't tell them why they have to come. Best to keep it a secret."
"Ok." She called back.
As Jade begun to prepare his surprise for both teams (minus Blake) Blake messages both teams on their own personal team chat.
Chat begins
Blakey: "Hey Guys can you come to our dorm later at 6pm?"
Blond Beauty: "Whys that? Planning something to do with Jade before 6?"
R&R: "Yang! I don't think they would do it."
Lie Ren: "What do you mean Blake?"
Pink Lightning: "Oh! Is Jade making dinner?"
Snow White: "We are getting off track guys, I believe she can explain it guys."
Black Stone: "You do know I am in the chat, right?"
Shining Knight: "Wait, Jade if you're here then why are you asking Blake to tell us?"
Invincible Girl: "I agree with Jaune."
Black Stone: "I'm busy."
Blond Beauty: "You aren't busy if you have time to chat Jade."
Black Stone: "Whatever Yang."
Blond Beauty: "Besides that, how's your date?"
Blakey: "We did not go on a date Yang!"
Black Stone: "Oh for Oum's Sakes stop it will ya? We only went out to get some stuff."
Blond Beauty: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Blond Beauty: "Keep telling yourself that."
End of chat
Much later...
As team RW_Y and JNPR walked towards their dorm, Ruby asked.
"So, guys? what do you think Jade is preparing?"
"Well we won't know if we don't see it will we?" Pyrrha says back.
"Oh! I think Jady is making food for us." Nora being all cheery at the possibility of food to eat.
"By the way Yang, what do you mean earlier that both Jade and Blake went on a date back in our chat?" The blond knight asked Yang.
"Oh right, you weren't there, earlier on Blake asked Jade to come along to collect some stuff in Vale, whatever it is, I don't know. And he agreed soo... by that definition. They both went on a date!"
"Oh, that sounds nice." Jaune muttered.
"Ok! Enough talking we are here." Weiss interjected as they approached team RWBY's dorm.
Even just them being outside the dorm, they could smell something good coming from within the dorm, their reactions varied from curious (Weiss, Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren) to excited (Ruby, Yang, Nora) at the surprise that Jade is preparing. Ruby then unlocked and opened the dorm revealing Jade (wearing an apron and in his casual outfit) in the kitchen cooking something and something is in the oven with all sorts of smells infiltrating their noses. Blake could be seen at the dining table waiting patiently with a book in her hand as Vegetables with deshelled prawns present on the table, nine empty cups could also be seen on the table as well as forks and spoons.
"Oh! hi Blake is this Jade's surprise to us?"
"Yes indeed Ruby, Jade wishes to cook for everyone as a surprise gift."
"Really? he can cook?" Weiss asked.
Blake nodded as the rest took their seats and begin to have a chat,
"so kitty kat can cook huh?" Yang commented as she looked at the plate containing vegetables with deshelled prawns in it, Jade soon arrived with a plate which had eggs mixed with crab meat.
"Oh hey guys," Jade placed the plate on the table before checking his scroll, " you guys just arrived on time, the salmon would be done in a couple of minutes. Also, can someone help me dish out the rice? I only need one person to assist me. The rest of you can relax." he asked.
Blake nodded before heading to the kitchen with Jade. The others watched at Blake left the table before conversing with each other.
"I must say what he cooked looked good and interesting." Pyrrha commented as she looked at the eggs with thinly sliced crabmeat inside it.
"This smells good, I never knew he can cook." Ruby commented.
"His cooking style is different from anything I ever had tried back in Atlas, but... it smells nice." Weiss admitted.
"I'll take that as a compliment Weiss." Jade happily commented as he brought in the plate containing the salmon with butter and lemon and herbs covering it. His ears noticeably twitching happily at what he brought to the table.
"What's this Jade?" Jaune asked as he looked at the salmon with curiosity.
"This? this is salmon with lemon butter sauce, I always wanted to try and make it myself." Jade admitted as he referred back to the same dream from earlier which the boy assisted his mother in cooking the salmon dish.
"Can we eat now I'm hungry." Nora moaned as all the food on the table is making her really hungry.
"Nora its rude to eat first when jade had not bought everything in first." Ren told as Jade smiled at him with appreciation. Blake continued to bring more plates with rice to the table before Jade told her.
"By the way Blake, in the fridge there a drink for everyone, can you take it out for everyone to drink? I still need to get the last dish for everyone." Jade got closer so he could whisper to her.
"It's related to the tuna you tried to put in the basket earlier, don't think I didn't notice it." Jade smiled at her as he walked back into the kitchen.
"right... I can handle that." Blake commented back as the others looked at her.
"What did he whisper to you?" Yang asked with a smirk on her face.
"Nothing!" Blake hastily said as she rushed into the kitchen to get the drinks while the others just shrugged and continued talking.
"you know they looked adorable together, the way they react to each other, they must like each other. " Jaune commented. (OH MY GOD YOU BLIND IDIOT! PYRRHA LIKES YOU DENSE BLONDY!)
"You see! Jaune agrees with me that both of them are good together, besides, he can cook so that's a plus." Yang commented.
"I don't think we should intervene in what they do together." Weiss continued to look at the salmon as its smell constantly teased her nose.
Blake arrived with a jug fill with a yellowish liquid with lemon and ice inside it, she began to pour it into the individual cups as the rest thanks her for it.
"What's this?" Ruby asked as Blake poured her a cup of the yellowish drink.
"Jade called it lemon-honey, apparently to him it's a good drink to take to refresh himself. He let me had some first, it was good." Blake commented as she continued to pour the drink.
Nora being thirsty and really curious at the drink, drank the cup as soon as Blake finished poured it. Her reaction after it was unexpected.
"Mmmm... This is good! Renny Jady shall me my Royal drink maker!" She cheerily proclaims as she slams the cup on the table (don't worry, Jade purposely gave Nora the metal cup.)
"Really?" Ruby took a sip of lemon-honey before going wide-eyed.
"Ruby?" Yang concern asked as Ruby seemed to froze.
"Its good Yang! Guys try it!" Ruby seemly snapped out of it and asked the rest to take a drink.
Jade walked in with a smile on his face as the others took a drink of lemon-honey carrying the last dish which is a potato-tuna salad.
"And here's the last dish, I know Weiss likes her salad, so I tried making one that would hopefully you would enjoy." He commented as he placed the last dish on the table before sitting next to Blake. Blake was wide-eyed at the potato-tuna salad with her bow twitching slightly, only Jade noticed it, the others were more interested in the last dish Jade brought in.
"Well then, everyone please enjoy your dinner." Jade asked his friends who obliged and began digging in as the apron on him disintegrated and joined in.
An hour later...
Everyone can be seen at the dining table all having a chat while empty plates and cups can be seen all over the table.
"That's some really good cooking Jade" Ren complemented Jade.
"Thank you Ren for the complement, it's been a while since I last cooked at all."
"How long did you not cook for?" Ruby asked.
"Well... The last time I cooked was 5 months ago..." Jade answered honestly as he rubbed his chin.
"Really? Well, it seems that you still got it after months." Blake says back.
Jade Lightly chuckles with a blush on his face before commenting. "Thank you Blake, I'm glad that you are satisfied with what I cooked."
"Do you think you can do it again?" Yang asked
"I can, but how about every month." he responded
"Really?" Weiss asked
"Wait how much did it cost you to make all of this?" Jaune asked
"Well the total cost for the ingredients I bought was over 150 Lien."
Jade looked at Blake who confirmed. "Yes, it did cost over 150 Lien for all the ingredients he bought, drinks and all."
"Wait What!"
"That could consider my expenses for all the bullets I used."
"Oh all the pancakes I could buy with that money." Nora dreamed on
"And you are willing to spend this every month?"
"Well I my previous job does pay very well as such, I believe I have over 4.5 million Lien in total I made over the years...
"Wait, you're a millionaire?"
"Where do you keep it?"
"Can we do this every day?" Yang sneakily asked
"Well yes, I could be considered a millionaire, no I'm not telling you where I keep all of it and lastly, no I don't have the Lien to do this every day Yang." He glanced at Yang who was laughing at Jade's deadpanned face he is giving her.
The chatting continued until Pyrrha of all people interrupted everyone to get their attention.
"Sorry that I do this but, it is getting late and we still have classes tomorrow and its already 9pm." Pyrrha apologies and pointed at the clock which shows that its 9pm.
"Well, I suppose that's enough for today. Can I leave the cleaning up to you girls? I need a bath anyways, after all, this cooking got me all sweaty and exhausted." Jade says as he got up from his chair.
"Wait what! Jade why are you asking us to clean up after you? it's not so hard to clean all of it up is it" Weiss argued with Jade.
"Well Weiss, as soon as I got home around 4 O'clock, I was busy preparing dinner for everyone here, besides it not that hard to wash a couple of dishes is it? Besides, I did most of the tougher ones earlier so it should be easier for you." Jade argued back at ice queen.
While the two of them were arguing in front of everyone, Jaune said.
"I guess it's time for us to leave now." Jaune says as he and his team waved goodbye as the leave team RWBY's (plus Jade) dorm.
"Oh ok, take care Jaune see you tomorrow." Ruby waved back with her team to team JNPR despite the fact that both Jade and Weiss are still arguing behind them.
In the end, Weiss managed to 'convinced' Jade to wash the dishes and by convincing, I mean threatening to freeze him solid in ice and leaving him in there till morning if he doesn't do it right now. Jade was understandably displeased with what he had to do as he gathered up all the plates and utensils (with the help of his semblance) and made his way into the kitchen to wash all the remaining plates and utensils, all while grumbling something about Schnees and their delicate hands that must be protected at all cost.
"You guys go first." Blake told her teammates (except Jade as he was washing the dishes in the kitchen) to go first.
"Oh, ok Blake see you later." Ruby said back as she, Weiss and Yang headed back. Yang however gave Blake a knowing smile before following her sister back to their bedroom. Blake on the other hand heads towards where Jade was and hears him continuing with is grumbling about Weiss.
"Jade?" Blake called out to Jade as she walked towards him.
"Yes Blake?" Jade answered back as he stopped his washing half-way and faced towards Blake.
"All I wanted to say is that I really enjoyed you cooking and I hope we can make this a monthly occurrence as you had said earlier." She responded back while looking straight in his eyes.
Jade smiled before commenting. "I glad you enjoyed my cooking like the rest and to answer your question, Yea I can make it a monthly event for you if you wish."
Both ended up staring into each other's eyes for a while only to snap out of it and look away from each other with blushes on both of their faces. Blake snapping out of the embarrassment first, decides to walk closer and with her hands, bring Jade closer to her and gave a kiss on his cheek much to his surprise before whispering.
"Thank you..." She then walked away from Jade without looking back, all while Jade remained stunned at what happen. His brain still processing that she kissed him on the cheek, he then unknowingly touched the spot where Blake kissed him and a gentle smile can be seen on his face before thinking to himself.
"Blake just kissed me... wow, this is rather... no this just confirms that we had feeling for each other? I... need time to think." Jade then resumed to washing the remaining dishes but the thought of Blake kissing him would linger for a while.
Authors notes
First of all, I apologise of the late publishing of this work, I've made numerus remakes for this remake (I spend wayyyy too much time on a fucking omake but whatever) but I hoped I made changes that to me makes sense. I was also worried that I made the characters too OOC and knowing some people, they would complain about it but I digress, I actually enjoyed making this chapter despite all the time and effort I wasted remaking it.
Anyways, in this chapter we can see that Jade and Blake are getting very cuddly with each other (in Yang's terms) though neither of each other are willing to spit it out, this can be a side-effect of Yang's teasing of them being lovers and them unknowingly resisting any attempts at actual romance. But another reason also plays a part. As we know in the lore, Blake's relationship with Adam can be summarised as abusive in nature, thus Blake would be reluctant to rush into getting another relationship to never get into such a situation again. As for Jade, he's still cowardly in nature, willing to backdown as we saw Weiss threatening to freeze him in a block of ice only for him to yield to Weiss's demands in washing up all the dishes despite his disagreement. This makes him more reluctant in actually doing things himself unless he really wants it, then he would throw everything he had at it. In short, he lacks the will to stand up for himself and more willing to bend the knee if it's the easier option.
As for Jade getting a peek into Filth (as Ruby puts in the chibi) This my attempt to expand on Jade as a person, after all, he is no Mr perfect as I shown above. Jade by all standard could be considered somewhat Innocent yet knowledgeable in the adult stuff though exposure in his life in the undergrounds of society, as shown above, he rejects the idea of reading such stuff but secretly enjoys it, much to his discomfort and displeasure. Blake also had a significant impact on how Jade react to it despite not being aware of it. Should Blake be not present, he would be more willing to continue on in reading it.
Moving on, the part which Jade relives another memory of the past (he got used to it coming in to him in the past few months though he still refuses to tell anyone about it.) It reminded him of how he never met his original parents and still yearns to meet them in the future if possible, so he goes to the closest people he could consider as his family, team RWBY and JNPR. Jade may not realise it yet but the memories of the past would slowly affect him as time goes by, affecting his personality. How this would affect him in the future? Only time would see.
