His emerald eyes doubled seeing an older version of himself. Blonde hair combed neatly to the side, black glasses framing his more matured face, and he was much more muscular than his teen self. Adrien felt his jaw unhinge. It was already shocking enough to be in the future, but seeing his future self mad it all the stranger."H-how are you...?"

"I managed to sneak away from the trip. Luckily being Chat Noir made the travel back easier." he responded beginning to step up the stairs leading to the roof."Come on, I wanna talk."

Still quite shocked, Adrien followed his older self up to the secluded rooftop, sitting beside him on the edge. The silence was awkward and noticeable between them but at the same time, it was natural since this was his future self he was sat beside."Definitely not how I thought my weekend was going to," Adrien said, trying to make the situation less strange.

His older self chuckled, nodding as he rubbed his eyes beneath his glasses."Ya, me neither."

"Not a hunting type?"

He nodded." Ya but you know me or us, always the people pleaser."

"Definitely," Adrien said, wondering how long this would go on for. Sadly not very long as he had to ask a question he didn't want to know the answer too."How much did you remember?"

It took his older self a moment to answer."Almost everything involving the crash and most of my conversation with Melody."

He'd heard just what he hadn't wanted to. He was certainly looking forward to the future he had with Marinette and their three kids, but that didn't mean he didn't want to know the very day and how one of his closest friends would die."Was it hard?" he asked, unable to imagine himself speaking to her or even being able to face her with that information on his conscious.

"At first," he said, looking out at the beautiful blue Paris sky. The laugh that left this lips surprised his younger self at first." I could barely talk to her. No one seemed to notice luckily and after about a month I was fine talking to her but that didn't mean it was hard especially when I knew it was coming." he paused for a moment."It's funny, I knew it was coming. I was waiting for Marinette to call me telling me what happened but I was just as shocked. It was just hard to believe it had actually happened."

"That must've been horrible," Adrien said, able to picture himself at a desk(if his future selves job entailed the use of a desk), trying to keep a calm composure as he waited for that dreaded call. But no matter how many years he'd known that one day he'd receive it, it didn't take away from the shock of finding out one of your best friends was dead.

"Ya, it was. But that wasn't the worst part." Adrien snapped his head towards his older self, unable to believe something else could be worse." The worst part was that I couldn't tell Luka that Melody would be okay. He'd just lost his wife and then had to deal with Melody who was nearly dead." Adrien tensed up. He hadn't realized how bad Melody had been, and being terrified of her death while Kagami had just died must've been hell." I just wanted to give him clarity that she'd be okay when..."

Adrien felt his frown worsen."I didn't help did I?"

"No," his older self said simply.

"How can I, we, anyone?" he questioned, feeling remorse for the girl, unrecognizable after a traumatizing experience.

His older self turned to him, green eyes sincere."We know better than anyone what it's like, to lose a mom. It isn't something words can heal, it never fully heals even after years."

"But she... she just looks so sad and angry."

"She is. When mom disappeared, we felt the same way. Sad she was gone and angry at the universe." down below, Adrien could see people enjoying the beautiful day. Birds chirped in the distance and flowers were in bloom. The sky was a bright baby blue and only two or three fluffy clouds were present, rays of the bright sun shining through them.

"She didn't look angry at the universe." Adrien pointed out."She seemed angrier at herself."

His older self sighed."Ya, Luka mentioned that she seems to blame herself. She hasn't really spoken to anyone about the whole thing but it seems that's what she believes. Of course, it isn't true and no one would think to blame her, but that isn't really something you can force someone to change."

"I guess," he said, unable to think what must've been going through that little girl's head.

"On a lighter note," his future self said, trying to make their conversation less dark." did the kids drive you crazy?" he asked.

Adrien laughed, shaking his head."No, they were hilarious. I bet you missed them."

He nodded."Of course, but a weekend away from them, even if it was spent in the damp woods, was nice."

Adrien smiled. Though fearful of one aspect, he was excited for his future... causing one question to bubble." I was wondering when did I pr-" he was unable to finish speaking when the world around him went black. He felt strange, quite drowsy like he was waking from a night of sleep after having cold medicine. It was like all his sentences perished than all returned at once, overwhelming him when his lady came crashing into him.

He was back.

Sorry if you wanted this fic to be longer. I plan on making a third one(It'll be better written and last MUCH longer) about Emma and Melody who are 16 and it'll be set up like a reacting to the show fanfiction. Now I have two questions, one, do you want Emma and Melody to be the miraculous holders or keep it Adrien and Marinette? And two, I plan on having some flashbacks, but would you like some to be when Marinette and Adrien were in high school?
