DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO

The next week things were finally back to normal...well as normal as they could be on the Isle, I was back hanging out at the chip shoppe and spent most of my days with Gil, Harry and the Crew much to my Dad's pleasure as it got me out of the lair and I wasn't annoying him by sulking as he kept reminding me I was back to my hotheaded ways and we'd even gone back to getting a rise out of each other daily so things were looking up despite still being trapped on the Isle.

I walked out of my room dressed in a pair of black jeans, a long sleeved black shirt with Dad's signature 'Soul Stealer' quote on it with a blue flame, my light blue leather jacket with flames and my signature 'LONG LIVE EVIL' tag with the flaming skull paired with a pair of combat boots that also had blue flames since hey it's who I am then had my usual jewelry on, my skull ring as usual was on my left index finger, skull earrings in my ears and my dad's god symbol on a chain around my neck, my hair was in its usual position down and my eye make-up was done the same way it always is blue with a dash of white for flare, I had my skull belt on but didn't bother with the sword since lately it's just been getting in the way of my fun messing with Harry to keep his mind of Uma's abandonment.

I frowned when I didn't see Dad in his usual position snoring away on his throne and the record wasn't playing the usual barking dog vinyl either which struck me up as strange as I usually was rudely woken up with that thing as it was always on a constant loop to trick people into thinking Dad still had Cerberus which of course he didn't much to my dismay as a kid who'd always wanted a pet and loved the idea of a three headed dog but the poor thing was left in the underworld without it's master.

I shook off all these thoughts as I left also taking note that the liar gates were wide open but was again didn't stay to ponder it further since Dad had been in a weird mood lately so who knows what was going through his head of late and I made my way down to the docks looking up to where I usually found Harry every morning the past couple of weeks but for once he wasn't on the crow's nest searching the oceans for Uma so I walked into the chip shoppe and found him and the crew at our table watching the TV.

"What's happening?" I asked sitting next to him.

"Shh" Harry said and I rolled my eyes looking up at the TV since something was clearly going on and I saw the usual channel videoing the statue of beast outside of Auradon Prep where the new kids would be stepping up to very soon but then I saw Mal and Ben come in with Mal waving and shaking hands like the perfect lady of the court enough to make me barf especially after her attempt to talk to me last week like she couldn't have seriously believed I would ever forgive her and actually be sisters after all this time.

"Bippity-Boppity one, two, one, two" the Fairy Godmother said into a microphone. "Can everyone hear me?" I rolled my eyes looking down at my nails which were in serious need of a manicure but the best was being taken off Isle meaning I was gonna have to get Lady T to do it.

"Thank you Fairy Godmother" Ben said getting ahold of the microphone when Fairy Godmother passed it to him. "What's up Auradon!" he shouted and I frowned since he was acting strange even for an Auradonian. "Thank you, thank you so much for coming out to welcome our new arrivals, they'll be here soon...it worked out pretty well for the first four" he added and I scoffed seeing Harry look over at me and smirked. "Mal...this is the exact we first met not so long ago, I feel like I've known you my whole life" Ben said staring adoringly in Mal's eyes and my eyes narrowed on why this was so public. "But did I mention...that I'm in love with you?" everyone awed before music started playing and Ben began to sing.

"I met this girl that rocked my world like it's never been rocked and now I'm living just for her and I won't ever stop I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me but now look at what you've done you got me down on one knee" my eyes widened in shock when Ben knelt down on one knee...he was purposing to Mal!

"Mal it's you and me, it's you and me forever...will you marry me?" he opened up a ring box and the cameras all zoomed in on the ring and I had to give it to Ben it spoke wonders about Mal's personality and style. "Will you be my Queen?"

"No!" a voice could be heard yelling and I couldn't help laugh since you and me both.

"Yes!" Mal exclaimed getting over her shock and everyone erupted into cheers as Ben stood and slid the ring onto Mal's left ring finger and I felt the anger rise up settling in my eyes filling them with heat as they lit up.

"Gross" I growled out before walking out not wanting to see anymore and climbed to the top of the crow's nest and sat down seeing the magical golden bridge connect the Isle to Auradon and a shiny purple limo driving across it before disappearing near the gate rolling my eyes that was until I saw the limo driving back out only to stop and watch at the goody two shoes get out before a ray of blue flashes that could only come from one thing...Dad's ember!.

I stood up watching Mal turn it a dragon but I saw the same blue light hit Mal in the chest and couldn't stop watching as she looked to be weakening before it all just stopped and I watched the purple smoke cover Mal before she was back to her normal self before they all got back into the limo and were driving back towards Auradon.

I turned to the grabbing some rope and used it to swing down seeing Harry on the deck and he looked at me with a knowing look, I squeezed his arm before I took off towards the lair walking in, down the stairs seeing Dad sitting on his throne.

"What the hell Dad?!" I exclaimed throwing my arms out. "Did you honestly think that was gonna work?"

"Go away Hadley" he spoke flipping the sunglasses down over his eyes and leaned back in his chair clearly sulking.

"So what was your grand plan huh...break through the barrier and then what...were you just gonna leave me here, leave Harry-"

"I don't care about your little infatuation with the pirates son, you think you're in love-"

"I never claimed to be in love, Harry's my best friend" I spat cutting him off. "But tell me Dad, were you just gonna leave me here to rot?" I asked him and he looked up refusing to answer. "Great thanks for clearing that up for me" I said before walking over to my room and quickly threw together a small bag.

"Where are you going?" he asked as I walked up the stairs.

"Somewhere where I'm actually wanted"

"You think that pirate honestly cares about you, you're a villains daughter...you don't get happy endings"

"Maybe I'm not looking for one but at least Harry's been there for me which is more than I can say for you after all you just attacked one of your daughters and was ready to leave the other behind without a thought so you can't exactly call yourself father of the year!" I exclaimed turning to him. "And you want to know something else, about my little talk with your brother all those weeks ago" I asked and he looked up seemingly intrigued now. "He didn't put you here to punish you or me, I was dumped here so you could learn to love but we both know that'll never happen" I turned and walked out without another word and headed for the ship since I may as well just crash there.

I laid on some old nets setting up a sort of bed laying down looking up at the sky...the overcast sky really wishing we could see stars as I'd always wanted to stare up a starry night but alas it's just one more thing we don't get on the Isle.

"Hadley?" I jumped sitting up and saw Harry standing on the lower deck.

"Harry, what are you doing here?"

"I could ask yer the same thing Hothead?" I scoffed sitting up straighter crossing my legs.

"Had a fight with Dad...same old thing, now you?"

"I sleep here now, lieutenants quarters and heard movement above deck"

"What happened to your place with CJ?" I asked.

"The runts annoying" he argued making me laugh since that was no doubt true given whenever I ran into CJ anywhere she always rattled on about our failure in getting the wand...like the brat could do any better. "Yer could always come stay with me downstairs if yer want"

"You inviting me to spend the night again?" I asked with a fake gasp.

"Nah your right, yer a bed hog" he laughed so I grabbed the life ring I was using as a pillow and threw it at him but he dodged it.

"Go walk the plank Hook"

"Only if you join me" he laughed making me roll my eyes before I stood and followed him downstairs crashing in the old lieutenants quarters once again sharing a bed with Harry Hook.

When I woke up I found myself in the very same position as last time...Harry's arm wrapped around my waist but this time I didn't want to move and did my best to remain still to draw it out as long as possible even though I knew I shouldn't have so I sighed then grabbed his arm and started to lift it only for him to tighten his hold.

"Harry let me go!" I complained despite not wanting to.

"Five more minutes CJ" he replied and I rolled my eyes.

"It's Hadley ya imbecile!" I yelled which was enough to wake him up and he went rolling off the bed straight to the floor making me laugh.

"Oh hardy har...har" he fake laughed.

"Well ya were spooning me"

"Don't pretend yer didn't like it Hothead" he retaliated and I rolled my eyes to hide the blush before he yawned.

"Race ya to the Slop Shop for some coffee?" I asked him and he nodded as we quickly got dressed back into our shoes and jackets since they're the only things we'd taken off last night to sleep then walked out of the lower deck stopping to stand side by side on the gangplank. "On three?" he nodded. "One"

"Two" he smirked winking at me.

"Three" we said together before running desperately trying to slow the other down by shoving and knocking stuff in each other's ways not caring about the mess we were causing as we ran down the alleys and past various people who called out their protests but my eyes were set on victory being a few steps in front of Harry and saw the Slop Shop in view.

"I win!" we both said as we barreled through the doors falling face first. "No I win!" we said again before the annoyed voices of the goblins in their own language which no one on the Isle knew.

"Oh shut it, two coffees" I spat at them and dropped some old, rusted coins onto the counter that I'd stolen from Jafar a few days ago to pay. "Ooh and a stale bread pudding" I added smirking as I thought about it, stale bread pudding topped with rancid banana syrup it was a popular dessert on the Isle of the Lost since the extracts from rotten fruit are our only source of sugar and dropped an old ring down that I'd stolen on my way to the docks last night before Harry and I took a seat next to the window.

"So what were yer fighting with yer Dad about?" Harry spoke up after a couple minutes silence.

"You saw the barrier breach yesterday?' I asked and he nodded.

"Everyone did, it was broadcasted"

"Yer well he was gonna leave me to rot, I called him a worthless father...we both got angry so I'm gonna take a few days to cool off" I shrugged right as one of the Goblins dropped our coffees down along with my stale bread pudding.

"Well yer welcome to stay with me fer as long as yer want Hothead"

"Appreciate it Hook" I laughed before we clicking foam cups breaking out into even more laughter before we drank our coffees strong and black just the way it was always served.

"Well would yer look at that?" Harry suddenly said and I turned seeing none other than the core four and Celica come riding in on motorbikes heading for Dr Faciliers voodoo arcade leaving their bikes unattended.

"Ya thinking what I'm thinking Hook?" I asked turning to him and we shared a smirk.

"Yer Hothead"

"Go find Gil, I'll watch them" I told him and he nodded quickly racing off to find Gil while I watched to make sure they didn't come out and pretty quickly Harry was back with Gil and another crew member. "Let's ride boys" we moved over to the bikes and I climbed onto Mal's given it was purple and green, Harry got on Jay's, Gil on Carlos' and leaving our fourth man Evie's putting on their helmets as well right as they came out.

"Wow rookie mistake" Carlos protested seeing us.

"Long time nay see" Harry laughed over at them.

"Get off my bike Hook!" Jay exclaimed as the others all took off before Harry and I joined them.

"Catch us if you can Jay-Jay" I laughed as we drove off getting away and decided to dump the bikes over the cliffs jumping off sending them falling and crashing on the rocks below. "We're getting off this island" I quickly said to Harry. "They're here for something and we'll be getting out with them, grab Gil...only Gil since the less is better until we can get everyone else off and I'll meet you at the bridge, don't let 'em see you"

"Where yer going?" he asked catching my hand before I could walk away.

"I'm not leaving without something, I'll be there now go who knows how long we have" I took off running towards the lair since if I was going to Auradon it wouldn't be without Dad's ember...I'd never successfully ever been able to steal it from Dad but first time for everything and I was not taking him with me after yesterday.

When I got to the lair I frowned since the gates were once again left open and without my key there was no way any kids had gotten them open...unless...I scoffed Celica since she had a second key...there was only one reason Celica would be back here with the traitors...Mal was after the ember, I picked up my pace since she may be a daughter of Hades but that ember was rightfully mine.

I made walked around the corner seeing the center of the lair and saw Celica standing on the stairs and Mal creeping around behind Dad heading straight for the ember which was in its usual place beside Dad's throne and he was snoring away oblivious...or so Mal thought as I paused to watch with a smirk especially when Celica pulled the needle off the record and it made a screeching sound.

"What are you doing here?" Dad spoke startling the two thieves.

"I noticed you were low...on canned corn" Celica said pulling out a tin from her bag and I'll give her props, she tossed it to him right as Mal reached for the ember but Dad reached out grabbing her hand taking it from her as he turned to face her in the chair.

"Hi Dad" Mal said and my eyes widened since she said that in front of Celica before I rolled them seeing Dad wave at her before removing his sunglasses and I scoffed before making my presence known by clapping.

"Nice try Mal, I've only tried that about...oh 236 times since I was six" I laughed walking down the stairs.

"Quite the show you put on the other day" Dad said looking at Mal.

"Right back at you" I rolled my eyes at them as I leant against one of the beams that stopped the cave roof from falling on us.

"I was just coming to see you" Dad argued standing up.

"Really...wonder why?" Mal asked him looking briefly over at me. "Is it because I'm gonna be queen"

"Ooh don't be bitter Mal, we are after all family" I remarked before laughing throwing her words back at her.

"He abandoned me when I was a baby" Mal argued looking at me.

"No" Dad spat turning to her. "No I left your mother" he pointed at her. "She's not the easiest person to get along with" I rolled my eyes.

"Don't feel bad Mal, he forced my mother to be queen of the underworld" I laughed seeing Dad glare at me.

"You think?" Mal spat back completely ignoring what I said.

"Huh well you see we have something in common already, we both hate your mother" Dad argued grabbing his scarf shaking the dust off before wrapping it around his neck and I rolled my eyes.

"No" Mal argued holding up a finger. "I don't hate my mother, she may be an evil lunatic but at least she stuck around"

"Ooh boo-hoo" Dad fake pouted.

"He's a horrible father anyway" I scoffed to myself since they were ignoring me anyway.

"Wake up and smell the stink, you think you had it rough?" he asked her. "I used to be a GOD!" he exclaimed making Mal jump a little but I however was used to this tantrum.

"Yeah, yeah you had an entire world which bore your name" I finished for him in a bored tone having heard it for seventeen years.

"And now I have nothing!" Dad added throwing the can of corn to the ground and I watched it bounce with a smile. "And neither of you know how that feels" he added pointing between Mal and I.

"Really, because for 16 years I had nothing!" Mal yelled back and I scoffed again since I still had nothing so welcome to my world with Hades as your father. "And now I have a whole world"

"Yippee for you" I remarked leaning back against the beam and lifted my hands to examine my nails still thinking I needed a manicure.

"But unless I get that ember it's game over" Mal added once again ignoring my comment and held her hand out for it.

"Hold please" Dad said pushing her hand away. "Listen, little girl you're talking to a God and I don't wanna hear the drama, kindness ain't my brand" oh god not again, I've only ever heard this song about a thousand times growing up whenever I asked him for anything this was his answer.

"Oh, I guess that's why you ran" Mal sang back making me laugh since this was gonna be interesting.

"Try being married to your mama!" Dad argued shaking his finger at her.

"You stink at being a Dad" Mal sand making me smile since at least she wasn't raised by him.

"Poor Mali, are you sad?" I cut in singing as I moved over to Dad.

"Not as sad as you's without your powers" I glared at her. "I didn't come to fight, for once do something right" she held her hand out for the ember again.

"I steal souls, were you expecting flowers?" Dad asked her wrapping the scarf around her neck.

"I only need you 'cause I came here for something" she sang ripping the scarf off and threw at Dad.

"I've given you everything, by giving you nothing" Dad sang and I smirked since Dad and his tough love. "By giving me nothing" Mal argued singing that along with Dad's last part both stomping their feet like children.

"I did what I had to do"

"No, you only did what's best for you" I rolled my eyes but let them go.

"Well, you could learn a thing or two, when push comes to shove you do what you gotta do, yeah" Dad sang out his very familiar teachings my entire life and until recently I'd lived by it watching as he bumped hips with Mal before he sat in his throne.

"You were never there guess you don't have a phone you never called to say, 'I miss you'" Mal sang and I rolled my eyes given phones didn't even work on the Isle.

"Ha ha ha, are you kidding, is this a joke?" Dad laughed. "You need to let…You're stronger with those daddy issues" I shook my head since Mal has daddy issues and I have mommy issues, great half-sisters we are.

"Oh, thank you!" Mal spat at him.

"Show me some respect it ain't easy to neglect...my attention would've made you softer" Dad sang into an old candle stick holder which currently held the ember pretending it was a microphone as I glared at Dad since his attention did not make me softer than Mal not that he'd really given me much attention anyway.

"Ooh-hoo should I be proud?" Mal asked him. "Don't turn this thing around"

"I guess you are your father's daughter, ha, ha, ha" my glare intensified as did my anger for Mal for the fact that this seemed like an epic bonding moment for them...I was Hades daughter not Mal.

"Don't think I need you, I just came here for something" Mal argued holding her hand out for the ember once again.

"I've given you everything, by giving you 'me' nothing" they sang together as Dad spun Mal into his arms.

"I did what I had to do, I made it on my own, no thanks to you" she sang jabbing her finger against Dad's chest pushing him back.

"Well, you could learn a thing or two" Dad argued holding up two fingers. "When push comes to shove you do what you gotta do" he sang right as Mal sat down on his throne and I raised an eye unable to help myself.

"How 'bout we go with you and we'll spend some time?" I sang with a smirk as I walked over and wrapped an arm around Dad's shoulders looking at Mal.

"How 'bout you stay here 'cause you're out of your mind!" she shot back.

"Let's make new memories, you can show us the town" Dad sang smirking at me quickly before looking back at Mal.

"No, you can keep your memories now" she argued avoiding our eyes.

"Get over it" Dad and I sang together.

"I am over it!" Mal held up her hand standing.

"I'm over you being over it!" we all sang together.

"Let's dance" Dad added grabbing his tambourine and started dancing and rattling it before throwing it at Mal who caught it. "I did what I had to do" Dad sang heading up the stairs.

"No, you only did what's best for you" Mal sang rattling the tambourine before tossing it to the ground following him.

"Well, you could learn a thing or two" we all sang as she held out her hand for the ember yet again but Dad grabbed her hand and pulled her up before reaching back for me and I took his hand letting him pull me up.

"When push comes to shove, you do" Mal shoved Dad who bumped into me "...when push comes to shove, you do..." we both bumped into Mal sending her falling back a bit. "When push comes to shove you do what you gotta do, yeah" we all sang out going back to back with each other before Dad held his hand next to his mouth making fake applause sounds.

"Ha, please" Mal and I scoffed at him.

"Do you wanna make up for being a lousy Dad?" Mal asked turning to face him.

"I wasn't that lousy...ask your sister" Dad argued pointing at me.

"I ain't getting involved Dad" I argued with a smirk.

"Give me the ember?" Mal asked holding her hand out.

"The ember only works for me" Dad argued and I looked up knowing that wasn't true.

"No it'll work for me...were blood" Mal shot back and Dad scoffed.

"You're only half Hades" he argued holding up a finger. "The ember won't do everything for you that it does for you" he added holding it up.

"Well I'm more Hades than Mal so it'll work better for me" I smirked holding up my own hand for the ember. "Take me with you and I'll use it to stop whatever you want so long as I'm not dumped back here as soon as I do" I added looking at Mal as Dad raised an eye looking between us as we just stared off.

"Deal" Mal finally said and I smirked as Dad dropped the ember into my hand.

"Thanks" I smirked wider at him before I turned.

"If it gets wet-"

"Yeah, yeah it's game over I know Dad" I called back while Mal just waved not even looking back both of us missing Dad muttering to himself as we slowly made our way out of the lair with Celica.

"I guess that's why he's always asking about you Mal" Celica spoke up and Mal stopped.

"Evie...and Hadley obviously are the only ones who know that he's my Dad" Mal replied and Celica nodded. "And as far as I'm concerned he doesn't even exist" she added making me roll my eyes.

"Yeah I know how that feels" I spat continuing walking out before Mal suddenly grabbed the ember out of my hand. "Hey!" I exclaimed.

"I'll hold on to it until we need it" she glared at me and I went to retaliate but stopped reining my temper since getting off the island first was more important then I'll get the ember back.

"Fine have it your way...just like always" I agreed glaring at her before I walked towards the bridge entrance where we met up with the other three.

"What's she doing here?" Jay spat.

"Nice to see ya too Jay-Jay" I laughed.

"She's helping, she can use the ember better than I could" Mal cut in holding up her hand towards Jay.

"Yeah so play nice" I laughed before walking ahead of them until Mal pulled me back with a glare and took the lead with me rolling my eyes following behind them as they approached the barrier and looked around for Gil and Harry but couldn't see them anywhere which made me anxious since I couldn't leave without them...I wasn't going to be like that.

"Jay you good?" Mal asked and Jay nodded opening the barrier and they all stepped through with me hesitating for a spilt second looking back but it was now or never and I stepped over the barrier feeling the power shoot through me instantly and smirked at the rush.

"Whoa you got a little Hades thing going" I heard Evie say and turned seeing some of Mal's hair had changed to blue.

"Yeah well I got a lot" I smirked quickly snatching the ember out of Mal's hands before raising my hands channeling all the heat and power from the ember towards my hands and laughed when I produced two small blue flames in the palm of my hands as well as feeling my hair flame and they all stepped back before I clenched my fists and it all went out before Mal snatched the ember back.

"That thing packs a punch huh?" Carlos laughed right before there was a couple of thuds behind us and we all spun seeing Harry and Gil had dove through the barrier before it shut.

"Yes bout time you boys made it!" I exclaimed walking up and hugging them before turning back to smirk at the others.

"We made it!" they celebrated hugging as well behind me before they fell to my side, finally we were free!
