Dabi

* Sensitive content (mentions of blood, violence and death).

– This is going to take time to remove – while looking at the blood spatter on my jacket after completing what I was ordered. Soon after, I incinerated the bodies to ashes, while adding another burn to my already vast collection.

– The villain Stain is once again wreaking havoc in the center of town…– A news anchor's voice caught my attention. I sneaked into one of the alleys closest to the big screen in the main square.

I've been hearing about this killer of heroes for a while now, who, until now, has been out of combat with 23. Among the walls of the underworld there was rumor about the ideology of this type: to eliminate all those who call themselves heroes just for the fact of making themselves known and admired as such. After hearing that, I must admit that I was able to identify several with that same profile.

As his exploits were reported, the more interest he showed in his ideals of eradicating the social system of empty heroes eager for fame and recognition. Shouldn't a hero fight for the common good? They are just hypocrites; false heroes.

It was the night I learned that he was arrested that I was motivated to preserve his ideals. Knowing that I could not so easily detach myself from the yakuza that had taken me in for the past eight years, I had to take more drastic measures. They were nothing more than mere gutter thugs that I allied with at a dark time in my past life, but I was beyond sick of following their orders.

– You're late. You have another mission – the guy smelled of rum and rot. The intended meeting room was a cave with little ventilation, humidity and, as usual, full of rats of different caliber, and not exactly the ones that scurry around the corners of cupboards

– I'm afraid I won't be able to do that – placing myself in the center of the room. The rest of the thugs were beginning to take offensive positions.

– It wasn't a suggestion, but an order. Or do you forget who you work for? – his voice got worse

– That's the detail, I never worked for you, I was just killing time – and before they could attack me, I activated the plan that I had in mind once I got fed up with being with them. Shortly before entering, he had spread an imperceptible highly flammable substance throughout the building. While the amount of oxygen would be enough to cause the combustion you wanted, it would be enough to turn them to ash. At the touch of my hands on the ground, a bright blue flame did nothing more than envelop the almost inert bodies of those who were targeting me.

But the most resistant of all was the leader, whose skin was highly thick, but I knew his limit. Although he didn't seem to give in to the intense heat, he didn't stop and tried to shoot me, to no avail. As the reinforcements increased, I had no choice but to push my power to the limit. I concentrated all the energy in my body, as I had been practicing in every performance that I had been sent in, and raised the temperature of my flames to the maximum. The flames turned an intense blue color as my exposed skin burned; I didn't remember this feeling for a long time, I must have already reached my limit, but if I didn't, I would be at the mercy of these bullies.

After a few minutes that must have seemed like hours, I was exhausted and almost collapsed on the ground. And as if it were a slow–motion scene, the yakuza chief rushed at me with a dagger that I stabbed into his chest to watch him catch fire from the inside

– Don't worry, in hell the flames are less intense – the guy was consumed in fire that lashed him in relentless waves while I practically staggered to the exit. It was a matter of time before the incident attracted the attention of stupid heroes, but if my premonitions were correct, they would find nothing but ashes once they reached the scene.

For quite some time, a guy had been telling me about the League of Villains. Working under another jerk wasn't one of my goals, but one of his arguments made me reconsider:

– Once they annihilate the symbol of peace, All Might, it will leave them free space to do what they want; to do what you want – I turned my eyes to the guy who looked at me complacent.

– I'm not entirely convinced – even feeling the ravages of the last attack

– In the conditions in which you find yourself, it wouldn't be ideal for you to walk alone – Extending his hand towards me. – Trust me, that's just the beginning

That same night we were joined by a detestable schoolgirl who kept acting childish. Now any asshole pubert believed themselves a transgressor.

He led us to a tavern, where there was a group of rather simple beings, except for a lizard in the background, the mass of purple smoke behind the bar, and a scrawny gray–haired guy covered in hands. They looked like members of a circus and not a criminal organization.

– These are the two I told you about, Kurogiri. I want my pay. – Our escort commented, leaning on the bar.

– Introduce yourselves – ordered the guy with a hand on his face and a raspy voice. Should be under 20 years old.

– I am Himiko Toga – the sleeves of his coat had noticeable reddish spots

– I'm not entirely sure of the motivations of this league and much less after bringing this unhinged here – I snapped

– At least she introduced herself, what is your name? – he asked

– I'll reveal it at the right time. But my name is the least of it, I'm here to do Stain's will – It's funny that, despite the fact that the hand covered his face, I could feel the irritation drain from her.

– Yes, I want to be like Stain! – The mad girl shouted at my side and immediately afterwards the guy who called herself the leader lunged at us, but we were intervened by a kind of portals that diverted our attacks. The guy's failed attempt motivates him to withdraw.

– Please wait for an answer in the next few days – exhorts the guy, or whatever the mass of smoke in a butler's suit, before we leave.

A few days later we were summoned to have our teams assigned to us for an attack on some… students? What was special about them? Anyway, I was assigned as the leader of a group of idiots, which was the crazy chick named Toga. It was a matter of days for the plan to be put in place and to show if the actions of this Tomura guy would make any sense once the mission was over.

– What are your intentions with those puberts? – the idiot didn't respond and my flames began to come out

– They are the next generation of heroes and there's at least one prospect that interests us: Katsuki Bakugou – replied the right hand of the weakling, called Kurogiri – His attitude and quirks make him an excellent candidate

– I would also like Endeavor's son, Shoto Todoroki – the tension in my back reminded me that I had a spinal cord

– Do you think it is a smart strategy to kidnap the son of hero number two? You're nothing but an idiot – the guy was heading towards me with speed and I could barely keep up.

– He's right, Tomura! – Kurogiri came between them – This would draw too much attention from the heroes, and Endeavor is not just any hero – Hero? I'm not really sure about that.

Before the intervention the guy gave up and I moved away from both circumspect.

I left that place in search of a desolate area, I felt claustrophobic. Maybe getting involved with this crazy ball of idiots is just the beginning of what I have long been plotting anonymously.

The smell of scorched earth filled my nostrils and before I knew what was happening, the ground where I was standing was charred.

My body burned, but despite the pain and burns, I was regaining consciousness. I was carried away by scattered memories and my body reacted as a defense mechanism, why not continue?

In a deep scream, I released all the accumulated energy in a blast that devastated the little remaining vegetation and the weight that I felt shortly before was already non–existent. An insistent itch throbbed across the burned staples of skin on my body, yet it was even satisfying; a persistent incentive that reminded me of the reason for joining this league of idiots and the plans that would help me materialize.

The new moon loomed over my head, dark and gloomy, as an omen of the same fate that every self–proclaimed hero would suffer.

The tension in my face caught me off guard with the rising curve of my lips. I had a long time not feeling so excited about something.

Hi! (Today is a 2X1)

Fact # 7

In the fics I've read, they always describe Dabi as a sassy and carefree character, when, although it's the case, main aspects of the character are neglected, that he's a deranged and a villain, so I wanted to turn him into a dark and corrupt character, as well as Hawks, whose personality has very peculiar shades of gray.

Fact # 8

Dabi is one of my favorite characters and one of the best writings. Fascinates me. I also love Hawks and his character design.

It goes without saying that DabiHawks is one of the ships that I like the most.
