The Mando Jetii
Grievous in retreat. Before the battleship Malevolence could destroy an Outer Rim clone medical base, a Republic strike force under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker crippled the warship, disabling its dreaded ion cannon. Now the Jedi relentlessly pursue the Malevolence.
On the bridge of the Negotiator stood Master Obi-wan Keno, Master Plo Koon, Captain Brock (I grew tired of Admiral Yularen being in charge of both ships) and Padawan Kryze watching as the Malevolence while on fire and under continuous turbo laser fire and yet seemed to have no effect upon the giant warship. As the ship continued its current course.
"Commander, what is the damage level to the enemy ship?" Obi-wan asked Commander Cody who was in his white dress uniform with orange/yellow markings (similar to how his armour looks also I saw the fanart of it and it looked awesome) instead of his phase 1 armour.
"She's lost her primary shields and stabilizers, but the ship is so massive it can take all the fire our cannons can give it." Commander Cody replied.
"We must summon reinforcements." Master Plo Koon suggested.
"We don't need reinforcements, master Plo, we need more fire power or a different tactic than what we are currently using.
"What do you suggest Commander?" Captain Brock asked.
"We do have a hanger bay with AT-TE walkers, a flight bay with starfighters, bombers and gunships and we also have three ships that have full marine contingents onboard, along with commandos of Foxtrot Group and the 501st's Onyx Squad as well. We could have the bombers target the Malevolence's engines while the V-19's and Arc-170's attack other places of the warship, and the walkers can be transported to the front of our ships and bring their mass cannons to bear or we could accompany the marines and commandos in boarding the ship and take it out from the inside. Or we could wait for reinforcements." Javak said offering his recommendations gaining the attention of all those on the bridge as well as Master Skywalker and Padawan Ahsoka who had walked in and heard the Padawan's suggestions.
"A good idea, my young padawan. But I think for the moment we'll keep to our current tactic." Obi-wan said. Believing that his padawan's ideas would be unnecessary.
"Understood, master. So, we'll wait for reinforcements then." Javak said bowing while a little bummed out that his recommendations were ignored as he took two steps back standing next to the Captain who gave the young Mandalorian a nod.
"That's why I'm here, Padawan Javak." Skywalker said drawing the attention of the two Jedi Masters and Captain.
"Anakin, were you able to contact Master Luminara?" Obi-wan asked.
"Yes, master. She's busy with a fleet of Separatist reinforcements nearby. She won't be able to give us her support until she's turned them away." Anakin reports as Ahsoka stands next to Javak and places her hand on his arm making him look at her as she gives him a kind smile and squeezes his arm in support to which he responds by nodding then straightening his posture which did not go unnoticed by Master Plo and Captain Brock but both said nothing.
"Then we'll have to make do with what we have." Obi-wan said as the cannons continued to fire and his padawan walked down to the terminals and stood next to commander Cody while being watched by the other as Ahsoka frowned watching her first ever friend then look at her master who then looked at his former master who was watching his new padawan then sighed deciding that he'll talk to his padawan later and turned back to the view screen.
"Captain, status report." Obi-wan ordered.
"They're not attempting to jump to hyperspace. Their hyperdrive must be damaged." Captain Brock informed.
"This is our chance. All ships target the bridge, maximum firepower." Obi-wan ordered
The clones at the terminals pressed a few buttons and charging sounds could be heard as all four guns of all three ships powered up and opened fire on the Malevolence's bridge.
"Master, I'm picking up a signal near the enemy vessel. Something just came out of hyperspace." Ahsoka said from the terminal she was using.
"Enemy reinforcements." Anakin asked
"No, it looks like a Naboo ship." Ahsoka said confused.
"Gunner, stand down. What in blazes are they doing out here?" Obi-wan orders the clones on the bridge then asked out loud.
"Ahsoka, contact that ship." showing concern on both his face and in the force.
"Naboo cruiser, identify yourself." Ahsoka ordered over the comm-link.
"This is Senator Amidala." The Senator responds.
"Padme, what are you doing out here?" Anakin asked in surprise and even greater concern.
"I was sent on a special mission. The Senate was told that the Banking Clan wanted to negotiate a treaty." Senator Amidala holoimage said.
"Get out of there as fast as you can." Anakin told her
"Padme, what's happening?" Anakin asked as he stepped closer to the communication terminal.
"I'm being pulled inside the droid cruiser by a tractor beam. I will not be made into a Separatist bargaining chip. Continue your attack. You must destroy this monstrous ship." Padme's holoimage said as it became distorted.
Skywalker ball his robotic hand into a fist and then turned to Captain Brock.
"Captain, order our ships to stop firing." General Skywalker said as the Captain nodded and proceeded to give the order.
"Where do you think you're going?" Obi-wan asked as his former padawan turned and started walking towards the bulkhead doors.
"Someone, has to save her skin." Anakin replied over his shoulder.
"I thought you'd say that." Obi-wan sighed and followed him.
"There he goes again craving adventure and excitement." Master Plo Koon said with a sigh.
"You get used to it." Ahsoka said amused.
"Well, this should be a fun." Javak said as he stroked Ahsoka's lekku out of habit and left, making a detour to the armoury and along the way activated his helmet comm-link.
"Captain Gregor, Captain Arch. Do you copy?" Commander Javak said into his helmet comm-link.
"Yes, sir." both Captain's responded.
"Gather your men and meet me at the Armoury. We got a Separatist warship that requires your skillset." Javak said as he entered the armoury.
One loading up on explosives and ammo later...
As Anakin is prepping the Twilight for this rescue attempt his former master walks in through the door
"I trust you've already formulated a brilliant plan to rescue the Senator." Obi-wan asked him as he sat down into the co-pilot seat.
"As a matter of fact, I have." Anakin replied while standing up to press button on the upper control panels.
"But do we have a plan "B"? Every operation needs a backup, Anakin." Obi-wan said to his former padawan.
"I don't have a backup...yet, but I do have a plan for getting on that ship." Anakin said
"Really?" Obi-wan said not sounding convinced.
"The enemy sensors are obviously damaged, so we'll sneak in behind them and dock at the emergency airlock." Anakin explained.
"That's your plan—Just fly there, land, hope they don't spot us, and walk in the door?" Obi-wan asked as he broke down Anakin's plan.
"Basically." Anakin replied.
"Oh, brilliant. Let's get going." Obi-wan said sarcastically.
"That plan relies on too much on luck Master Skywalker, good thing I decided to bring my own plan and backup too. Javak said as he walked in and sat down.
"And what's your plan, Padawan?" Anakin asked.
"I brought along a backpack filled with explosive charges that I had Gunny rig together and if that fails well then I brought along Foxtrot Group and Onyx Squad along." Javak said
"Good thinking, my young padawan. Alright, Anakin let's go." Obi-wan said to his former padawan.
Anakin pulls the lever and the Twilight takes off and flies out of the flight bay and heads towards the Malevolence.
"If they spot us, we'll be pulverized." Obi-wan said.
"They're too busy repairing the ship. They don't have time to notice us." Anakin replied.
Anakin managed to pilot the Twilight over to the emergency airlock and dock the ship with it as both Masters, Padawan and two droids came up the small circular elevator Anakin used the force to open the door and in front of them stood two B1 droids who Javak quickly drew both his blaster and shot them both before they could make a sound.
"Quick thinking Javak." Obi-wan said with a smile and nodded to his padawan.
"You're welcome, oh and before I forget here, put these on." Javak said holding out his hand revealing three Assault Tactical Throat Microphones.
"What do we need these for?" Anakin asked grabbing one and holding it up.
"Those comm-links on your arms aren't secure, the droids can listen in, but these are secured. Makes it easier to talk without giving away your position or having droids listening. Besides all the troopers have there's built into their helmets though they aren't like mine which is probably because it was more expensive." Javak said as both masters took the headsets and put them on.
"How do we know these radios work and who's the third one for." Obi-wan asked.
"It's for the Senator and Commando's comm check." Javak said then pressing two fingers against the left side of his helmet.
"Check." Captain Gregor and Arch said and Javak looked at the two Jedi master and both nodded signalling that the radio's worked.
"All right, let's go. R2 you stay here." Anakin said to his Astromech droid as BD-9 scurried down Javak's back and went off into stealth mode.
As the three Jedi are running down the damaged corridor then stop when Anakin's comm gauntlet (I don't know what they are called) beeps and Ahsoka's voice through telling them that they've been contacted by Senator Amidala.
And Anakin quickly speaks to her before Javak stops him for speaking into Anakin's comm-link
"Senator Amidala, this is Padawan Javak, head to the center of this ship, we will meet you there and don't use the ships internal comms. The droids can use it to track us."
"Understood." The Senator said before cutting off the link.
Javak then continues walking followed by the commandoes. feeling Master Skywalker's eyes burn into his back
"She'll be alright Anakin, trust in the force." Obi-wan said to his former padawan.
The group eventually make to the center of the ship which turns out to be a rail transit system which makes sense given how large the ship is. With BD-9 joining them too.
"I don't see her, Anakin." Obi-wan said as he looks around.
"She's here, master. I sense it." Anakin replied looking around as well.
"There she is." Javak said pointing down to the left where the blaster fire is coming from.
Both Jedi masters activates their lightsabers and start jumping across the rail networks while Javak looks for a while to get the commandoes across safely and shortly figures out a way. He turns to the men.
"I think I know how to get you lot across but you have to trust me" Javak said and received nods from them.
So, he took a breath and then using the force levitated them halfway across the railway and when he manages to get the last of them over there his master contacted him
"Padawan, how's it going over there?" Obi-wan asked over the comm
"I've gotten them halfway across, its slow but safer than just leaping across and expecting them to keep up." Javak replied the last part being a dig at both of the Jedi Generals.
"Understood. I'm on my way to the hyperdrive meet me there when you can." Obi-wan said ignoring or unaware of the dig.
"We're on it." Javak said then looking at the men again.
"Alright, brother, same as before but I'll be getting you onto those trains as they come by, now they won't stop so I'll be dropping you a few feet short so brace yourselves for that. Captain Gregor your teams up first." Javak said as he took a few deep breaths.
"We trust you, sir." Gregor said with confidence
"Thank you Ner vods, now let's do this and get of this slagheap of a ship." Javak said as he used the force again on Foxtrot and as they were move in position one of the trains came past and Javak lowered them then dropped them when they were less than five on to the train and then repeated the process with Onyx Squad then joined them when a third train arrived.
"Master, we're on our way to you now." Javak report over the comm.
"Good Job, padawan. I'll wait for you," Obi-wan replied.
As Javak was on his way to the hyperdrive he decided to contact the Senator and ask her some questions
"Senator Amidala, this is Padawan Javak. I'm curious, earlier you said you were sent here on a special mission. Who gave you the mission?
"The Senate had received word that the Banking Clan wanted to negotiate a treaty. Chancellor Palpatine suggested that I'd be more suited for this mission." She said over the comm
"Sir, if I may something about that sounds off." Captain Arch said after hearing what the Senator had said
"I agree, Captain. He said before replying to the Senator "So you came without an escort, just you and your protocol droid, no security detail and ended up in the middle of a battle? Does that about sum it up?" Javak asked
"Pretty, much." She replied like she wasn't getting the picture.
"Well worry about things later." Anakin said ending the comm
Javak exchanged look with Captain Arch over the aggressive tone that came from Skywalker.
"Those two are perfect for each other. They're both Di'kut's and act like nothing can hurt them." Javak said to Onyx Squad with a shake of his head as the train reached its destination and they got off the train and Foxtrot and Kenobi were waiting for them.
The group made their way towards the hyperdrive before Javak stop and was looking a door was near the hyperdrive room.
"Master, I have an idea." He said and then went on to explain
Mater Obi-wan Kenobi and Padawan Javak walked into the hyperdrive room and saw two B1 battle droids in the center of the room pressing buttons on the control panel when stop and turned to the two Jedi and as Obi-wan takes a step forward the lights come on and two super battle droids and six B1's walk through the side entrances as three droidekas roll over from behind the control panel, unfold and activate their shields as a group of nine B1's come in from the way they had come in.
They both hear a mechanical evil laugh from above and then Grievous drops down (superhero landing) then stands up.
"Hello there." General Grievous said to them.
"General Kenobi, did you really think I would leave the hyperdrive unguarded?" He asked tauntingly.
"Anything is possible. You haven't exactly impressed me today." Obi-wan said with his classic sass
"And is this? Ah. The boy from Geonosis. No commandoes to save you this. Your lightsaber will make a fine addition to my collection." Grievous taunted gesturing to the lightsaber of Master Arosha Nernun.
"Oh, I don't think so." Javak said as he grits his teeth and tries to keep his anger under control.
[Sinister laugh]
"Kill them." Grievous ordered.
Both Master and Padawan force jump to safety when the droids open fire and land behind the droidekas as Obi-wan force pushes the droid on the right in the droids on the right knocking them off the sides and Javak did the same on the left.
Obi-wan then moves around the last droideka it's shield protecting him from the blaster fire as he ten force pushes it into Grievous but the Cyborg General grabs the droid stopping it but Javak then fires a rocket from his gauntlet at the droid exploding it in the Droid General's face. Obi-wan gives the General a two-finger salute while Javak quickly summons her former master's lightsaber and follows his master angering Grievous.
As both Jedi run toward the rail works with a furious cyborg in hot pursuit Javak contacts the commandoes that waiting in two separate storage closets
"Captain Gregor, the hyperdrive room has been mostly cleared out but there a few droids still in there." Javak said as both Jedi are standing on a train.
"Copy that, sir. We'll handle it." Gregor replied.
"Seems your plan is working Javak." Obi-wan said with a laugh.
"For now, but here comes the hard part." Javak said pointing to the angry lightsaber wielding Cyborg.
As Grievous engages both Jedi in what must be an awesome with Grievous delivering stong heavy blows while Obi-wan uses Soresu to great effect while his padawan uses his unpredictable fighting style keeping Grievous on the back foot which served only to anger him more however Grievous decides to focus on Javak seeing him as the weakest of the two Jedi and with no more train as they engage on the front of it Javak a mechanical three-pronged foot to the chest launching him off the train to what Obi-wan thinks is his Padawan's death and Grievous taunts the Jedi Master over the death of his Padawan and engages him.
The two fight one on one for a few minutes till Grievous knocks Obi-wan down and stands above him ready to make the killing blow when Obi-wan's comm goes off in his ear.
"Master, the explosives are planted and the commandoes have made it across get out of there." Javak said over the comm though he sounds winded.
Obi-wan stares at Grievous as the brings his lightsabers down but Obi-wan rolls off the train slashing the side with his lightsaber as he lands on a train below and gives Grievous another two-finer salute leaving an enraged screaming cyborg.
A couple of minutes later Obi-wan makes it back to the emergency airlock he sees the commandoes all present and accounted for, then he sees his padawan siting on the ground with the medics of both groups crouching next to him.
He goes over to Javak and notices that his chest plate has been removed and has bacta patch attached to him. He crouches in front of him.
"You did well today, my young padawan. I'm proud of you Javak." Obi-wan said and notices the lip tremble and the tear that has formed in his eyes as his padawan wipes his eyes and clears his throat.
"Thank you, master. But you should really be thanking the men, I just helped." Javak said getting a laugh out of Obi-wan and the commandoes.
"Ever so humble, Commander Kryze." Obi-wan teased getting a laugh from his padawan who quickly hissed as laughing hurt
"How do you feel?" Obi-wan asked notices the black and purple bruiser that have formed around the edges
"I've felt better." Javak replied the opposite to what his master always said when injured.
Anakin Skywalker arrives shortly afterwards with Senator Amidala, R2 and the Protocol Droid. Anakin looks around and then turns to Obi-wan.
"Are we all set?" Skywalker asked Obi-wan
"All set, we've just been waiting for you, Master Skywalker." Javak said as the two medics help him up and support his weight.
"Alright then, let's get out of here and blow this warship to pieces." Skywalker said as he goes through the door with Padme and the two droids following.
The commandos followed next as the circular elevator couldn't take them all at once, till Obi-wan Javak and BD-9 was last
"Not bad for our first rescue mission, wouldn't you say master?" Javak asked with a smile as he leaned onto Obi-wan
"Not bad at all, you did good, who knows what we would've done without you, my young padawan." Obi-wan replied with a tease at the end.
"I'm sure you both would've managed just fine. And I'm sorry Master."
"Sorry? What for?" Obi-wan asked though he had his suspicion.
"I let Grievous get to me I just couldn't stand him boasting over Master Nernun's death.
"It's quite alright Javak, I was the same when my master died on Naboo the only difference is that I gave into my anger for but a moment while you did struggle, you kept calm and I am proud of you for that Javak." Obi-wan said looking Javak in the eyes.
"You know I don't know who I'm afraid of more, when we get back to the Negotiator. Ahsoka scolding me or Cody lecturing me" Javak said with a nervous smile
which made obi-wan laugh as they entered the Twilight and the ship undocked and began flying away back to the Negotiator. Obi-wan left his padawan in the trusted hands of the clone commandoes as he made his way to the bridge as Grievous and four vulture droids pursuing them.
Senator Amidala had taken over the Twilight's turret control and began firing back destroying two and when they were far enough away BD-9 came over to Javak with the detonator and Javak took the detonator and thanked his little droid friend before pressing the button blowing up the powering up hyperdrive that resulted in a massive explosion as General Grievous jumps to hyperspace like the coward he is.
The twilight lands in the Negotiator hanger as Master Plo Koon, Commander Cody, Captain Brock and Padawan Ahsoka at the bottom of the ramp
Master Plo Koon congratulated Master Obi-wan and Skywalker while Commander Cody did the same with the commandoes, they then welcomed Senator Amidala on board then thing got awkward as Padawan Javak came down the ramp support by the two commando medics. Ahsoka rushed over demanding to know what had happened and is Javak okay and she unintentionally place her hand on the bacta patch that was attached to his chest and blushed when she realised that his beskar armour and the upper half of his body glove had been cut away so the medics could tend to him mean that Ahsoka Tano was seeing her first ever friend's topless body and was admiring his muscles and the scars that he had likely acquired from his trial that she didn't know about but added to his overall physique and attractiveness... and that everyone was watching.
After a couple of more minutes of talking, explaining and congratulations Javak had Cody if he could help him to the medical wing which was another thing about Javak that they learn, he voluntarily goes to medical rather than be nagged at and dragged there by their second in command which the Jedi Masters and Republic Senator watch as Marshal Cody and Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano help Jedi Commander Javak Kryze to medical so that he can be tended to properly.
