"Alright, everyone!" Takeda announced. "After you look at your ranking, head back inside! Those of you in the bottom eight, please come with me." He led the eight newly expelled students away from the training area that they did the tests in.
"How did the guy who got the top score on the practical actually get number twelve in the class?" shouted the tall scary guy.
Shoyo sheepishly twiddled his thumbs. "At least I wasn't last, right?"
The tall boy glared. "You're an idiot."
Shoyo stuck his tongue out at him. "You're not any better, mister number eleven!"
"My number is ahead of yours!"
"You're only ahead by one point!"
"It's one point more than yours!"
"Guys!" Yachi disrupted, distracting the boys from the fight momentarily. "Please stop fighting." She looked a sickly green. "You guys are making me nervous."
Shoyo turned to Yachi. "You don't look so good. Do you need to see the nurse?"
Yachi shook her head. "I'm fine. I just can't believe that I was number four."
Shoyo's wings ruffled. "I can! You're so awesome, Yachi!" He looked at his feet. "Although, I do feel bad about those other guys. They were expelled because they weren't as lucky as us." He shuffled his feet. "They looked so sad."
"Wouldn't you be sad if you were kicked out of your dream school?" the tall guy questioned.
Shoyo nodded. "Yeah, I guess...hey, wait!" His head snapped up to the tall boy. "You never told me your name, scary tall guy!"
The tall boy glared down at him. "That's because you never asked, pipsqueak!"
"It's Shoyo Hinata!"
"And mine's Tobio Kageyama! So stop calling me 'scary tall guy'!"
"Then you have to stop calling me mean names, too!"
"Fine, idiot!"
"Fine, poophead!"
"The king is in a scuffle with another subject, I see," a voice said behind Shoyo. Kageyama shifted his glare to the source of the voice. "I thought I was special, your majesty."
"What did I say about calling me that?" Kageyama growled.
The voice snickered. "Oh, please. You don't scare me."
"Nice one, Tsukki," a new, softer voice said.
"Yamaguchi?"
"Yeah, Tsukki?"
"Shut up."
"Oh, sorry, Tsukki."
The sources of the voices came around Shoyo, showing him two boys who were taller than Kageyama. The one apparently named "Tsukki" had blond hair, like Yachi, and thick, rectangle glasses. The other, named Yamaguchi, had dark green hair and freckles.
"What kind of name is 'Tsukki'?" Shoyo asked bluntly.
Tsukki turned from Kageyama to Shoyo. "You don't get to call me that, squirt." Shoyo's face scrunched up. Tsukki added a smirk on his glare. "Oh, sorry. I didn't know you were lost." He leaned down, putting his hands on his knees. "The elementary school is down the street, shrimpy." He smiled menacingly, fluffing up Shoyo's hair.
Shoyo batted his hand away. "I'm supposed to be here, thank you." He put on a determined look. "I'm going to become the world's number one hero."
Tsukki rolled his eyes, smirk falling. "Even your pitiful hopes and dreams sound like a kindergartener's." He stood up straight. "Shorty, here's the reality of everything. You'll never become a hero. You'll be lucky to become a sidekick to someone just hanging on to that top heroes chart."
"Well," a more mature voice said behind Tsukki, "you definitely won't if you keep with that attitude." Tsukki moved out of the way to show Mr Takeda. "You seem to have missed the part about everyone going inside." He placed a hand on Tsukki's shoulder. "Go inside, or I'll expel you, too."
