New Kids on the Block

Hadley's POV

Today's the day...we were finally bringing over the five new VK's and I couldn't wait but there was one exciting thing happening before we went to get the kids and I had mixed feelings about it still remembering the day Ben asked me when really he should've asked our father but I knew he still had no idea who he was and I doubted he'd want to ask our father even if he knew since he would no doubt get roasted alive if Dad had his powers.

"Here they come!" Evie gasped making me look up and Doug started leading the band in a song as we watched Ben and Mal come out of the castle with their guards making me smile a little watching the way Mal fit in a lot more now happily shaking hands and greeting everyone with waves...she was going to make an amazing queen.

"Oh stay" FG said stopping Mal who went to walk off the stage.

"Stay here?" Mal asked confused which made my smile widen since she was in for the biggest shock of her life, in her 18 years I doubt she'd ever thought about what Ben was about to do but she was oblivious and went back to smiling and waving to everyone.

"Bippity-Boppity...one, two, one, two" FG called out testing the mic in her hand. "Can everybody hear me?"

"Yes!" we all called out.

"Ben" she said handing the mic over to Ben.

"Thank you Fairy Godmother" Ben said into the mic before letting out a nervous chuckle, I mean who could blame him even I didn't know how Mal was gonna react to this. "What up Auradon?" he's stalling...I laughed to myself as everyone cheered and clapped. "Thank you, thank you so much for coming out to welcome our new arrivals, they'll be here soon" we all clapped again. "It worked out well for the first five" he added and I smiled a little.

"Yeah especially for you!" Chad called out and my smile dropped clenching my fists as they heated a little until Evie touched my arm and shook her head.

"Mal..." Ben said undeterred by Chad's words and grabbed Mal's hand. "This is the exact spot we first met not so long ago, I feel like I've known you my whole life but did I mention...that I'm in love with you" he smiled and I couldn't help the small laugh since I'd kind of given him his this idea.

"Aw" everyone called out as Doug got his guitar and started playing the tune to the song he sang Mal at the tourney game when he was still under the love spell and Mal laughed nervously as she realised.

"I met this girl that rocked my world like it's never been rocked and now I'm living just for her and I won't ever stop, I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me but now look at what you've done...you got me down on my knee" he knelt down on his right knee and the look on Mal's face was priceless as she realised what he was doing, I took the mic off Ben and he pulled out the ring box. "Mal it's you and me, it's you and me forever...will you marry me?" he opened up the ring box and Mal gasped into her hands. "Will you be my Queen?"

"No!" Audrey yelled out and I couldn't help smirk.

"YES!" Mal exclaimed and we all erupted into cheers as Ben slipped the ring on her finger and the two kissed, I high fived Jay and Carlos before we hugged before I moved over to Mal as they came down and pulled her into a hug.

"Congrats little sis" I laughed.

"What did you know?" she asked.

"Everything, he uh...even asked my permission since I think I scared him a bit at his coronation" I replied as we laughed and Evie came up pulling Mal into a hug of her own.

"You are going to rock that crown" Evie told her and I laughed. "Okay so I've only done about a thousand sketches of your wedding dress and Belle's already planned an engagement party next week"

"Well it's a really good thing I said yes" Mal replied moving over to her new in-laws as I scoffed since as if she'd say no...when you know who your meant to be with you know and there's never a doubt in your mind.

"Hugs, hi!" Beast exclaimed.

"Hugs!" Mal laughed hugging him before turning to Belle.

"Hadley" I turned and frowned at PJ, we haven't spoken much since the other day. "I'm so sorry"

"I'm not doing this today PJ" I argued shaking my head at him.

"I know, I just thought I'd say that I was sorry and I am" I nodded at him turning away since I just didn't want to deal with him right now, not on a happy occasion.

"All bow to Her Royal Majesty!" Jay called out making me laugh.

"Oh yes, Her Royal Purple-Ness" Carlos added as we all mock bowed to Mal and Ben.

"Silence you annoying peasants" Mal laughed waving and we all laughed.

"That's not way to treat your sister"

"As you wish my liege" Jay said.

"Your crankiness" Carlos added and we all laughed again shoving each others shoulders before I turned all fun dropping as I saw Audrey grab Mal's arm and pull her towards her so I made my way over.

"...you won him fare and square...oh wait no you didn't"

"Let it go princess" I snapped quietly standing beside Mal clenching my fists tight to hide the small flames in them.

"You spelled Ben to destroy all of Auradon, touching story for the grandkids" she said ignoring me.

"Okay lets do this!" Ben called out and Mal smiled.

"Speaking of kids, we have some waiting on us so...if you'll excuse me" she grabbed my arm and pulled me away right as I felt myself at boiling point. "Calm down, she's not worth it" Mal told me and I nodded breathing to calm myself down as we all gathered as Mal's royal purple limo arrived and we climbed in.

We arrived on the Isle and parked at the entrance seeing everyone already there and waiting making me smile and head straight over to CJ and we knuckled before I found my eyes searching the crowd for familiar blue ones.

"He's not here" CJ said as soon as she noticed my eyes drifting. "He said goodbye on the ship this morning before he left, he barely comes home anymore since Uma disappeared" she told me and I frowned before my eyes found their dads as he came up to say goodbye to his youngest daughter and I game them a little privacy.

"Take care of her" I turned smiling at Harriet.

"I will and soon maybe you will all be able to join" I told her and she nodded with a small smile before going over to her father and to say her own goodbyes, I stood off to the side watching as all the kids were saying goodbye smiling at the Smee twins hanging onto their fathers waist only letting go when Jay and Carlos promised they could come back and see him any time they wanted.

"Alright I'm ready to set sail" I turned and laughed at CJ before we walked to the limo and she threw her net sack with some clothes into the boot before she climbed in and with one quick and final look for blue eyes in the crowd I followed her and after me came Celia, Mal and Ben and we were off driving towards the barrier.

"Here you have to try this" I told CJ handing her a red liquorice stick and she looked at me like I was mad. "Trust me, it was the first thing I ate when I left" I told her and she bit into eyes widening making me laugh as she grabbed a couple more. "You can thank me later, they make an excellent study snack" I told her as we passed through the barrier.

"It's Hades!" Evie suddenly yelled out and we all spun to the back window seeing Hades with his hand through the barrier trying to force it open. "Stop the car he's trying to escape!" Jay stopped and we all climbed out with Evie stopping one of the twins and put him in the back with the others.

"I am a GOD!" Hades yelled and I rolled my eyes at him as his hair flamed up blue. "I don't belong here!" Jay went to try and stop him but he fired at him using the ember and did the same with Ben and Carlos, I glared at him and used all my inner anger to channel flames in my hands feeling my own hair flare up in the process ignoring the fact that everyone could probably link me to him and find out Hades was our father but saw Dad's eyes widen and turned seeing Mal in dragon form flying above us before he shot a beam of the embers energy at her and it seemed to be doing something as Mal roared out in what sounded like pain.

I glared towards Dad and shot a flame ball to the side of him in hopes he'd jump back but he just laughed not afraid of fire any more than I was...we were both the same and it wouldn't work if I hit him...i was useless against him.

"Come on Mal, blast him!" Jay yelled up at Mal but I knew she wouldn't want to actually hurt Dad any more than I would since after all he was still our father and she blew dragons breath at him instead and this forced him back through the barrier allowing it to close.

Mal weakly flew down clawing at her chest before she changed back landing on the back of the limo, Ben and I both helped her down and steadied her as she seemed weak making me glare back at Dad for hurting her and wondering what in the hell he did with his ember.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"No" she replied shaking her head. "He was draining all my magic with that ember and I felt all of my magic slipping away"

"But your safe" I told her sighing looking back at the barrier seeing Dad glaring at us. "He's back where he belongs" I added and saw him huff before turning and disappearing back to the hole he crawled out of.

"Yeah for now" Mal scoffed and we shared a look.

"We should go" Jay said and we all nodded getting back in the car and we drove to Auradon with not much of the welcoming party we'd organized as everyone had seen what happened on TV and panicked so we took the kids to Evie's like planned until they started the next term of Auradon Prep.

"So you can stay in here until you board at Auradon Prep" I told CJ leading her into my room and put her stuff down on the spare cot in the corner of the room.

"I like it, it's dark reminds me of home" she replied jumping onto my bed and saw the shocked look on her face making me laugh knowing it was for the soft mattress.

"You'll get used to the sun and the beds" I laughed moving a few of my art stuff out of the way.

"What is all that stuff?" she asked making me look back seeing her watching me.

"Oh I'm uh...trying to make a living as an artist...unlike my fellow VK's I haven't found my calling here yet and I like to make art so I thought I'd try it" she stood up and came over and started flicking through all my canvas paintings I had stacked up against the wall.

"Mm...don't like that...too bright...mm now this one I like" she pulled out one and I smiled a little as it was one I painted of the beach Harry and I used to go to, an old abandoned castle in the hill above it and I remembered Harry joking that we'd fix it up and live in it looking down on everyone. "This is Harry's beach" she spoke up making me look up from it. "He took you there didn't he?" she asked and I nodded my head. "He never takes anyone there" she stated making me frown.

"It was a long time ago" I turned back and resumed packing up my brushes and paints.

"You two were a lot closer than most girls he fooled around with...in fact they all seemed to stop after you started coming around the ship" she went on further bringing a deeper frown to my face. "Were you and my brother-"

"No...not really" I shrugged turning to her. "It was...complicated" she scoffed.

"You know that's the same thing he used to tell me when I asked him about you" she replied and suddenly she had my interest. "Especially after you last came to the Isle and saw him on the ship, he always got so defensive and angry when I brought you up...so what really went on between you two and don't tell me it's complicated, it's my brother and I want to know"

"Look CJ, Harry and I possibly had something once before I came to Auradon but it ended the moment I left and I know I hurt him...he believes I betrayed him and I guess I kind of did but I'm working on changing that, I knew I couldn't get him off the Isle this time after what Uma and him did by kidnapping Ben but hopefully I can argue with the others and help get him off...get everyone off but it's a slow process as there are still a number of people here who believe were evil just because of our parents" I explained and she nodded.

"I mean we all are evil but just...the fun kind" she replied and I laughed.

"Of course, can't abandon our roots" I agreed and she laughed with us both falling back on my bed staring up at the ceiling.

"You love Harry, don't you?" she asked and I thought about it for a second.

"I might have once" I admitted and she looked at me. "It's complicated" I added with a smile and she rolled her eyes hitting me in the face with one of my pillows.

"Don't lie to me Hadley, your hooked"

"Oh shut up" I laughed hitting her back with the pillow before we both laughed, I knew I was hooked on Harry a long time ago but I had broken myself out of it...hadn't I.
