Chapter 8:Extremes meet

Air temple docks

"Welcome to air temple island, your new home" said ikki sweetly. "Well aren't you sweet" said bolin appreciating the gesture. "Thanks for sending the air acolytes to help, seems like asami doesn't know the meaning of packing light" mako said playfully. "No problem lets go get you guys settled in" said korra. "So wheres Boruto-" before bolin can finish there is a loud boom in the distance. "Woah what was that" bolin asked on edge. "That would be boruto training" said ikki giggling. "Heh maybe we should pay him a visit see what kinda training he does" said mako. "Sure right after we get you guys settled.

Girls side of the temple

"Asami did you know korra likes mako" ikki asked with no shame. Asami raises an eyebrow to this. Korra ushers asami to her room and then proceeds to lock an angered ikki out. "Well here's your room, hope ya like it" said korra trying to change the topic. "It's great and the best part is it doesn't remind me of my father" asami said coldly. There's a knock at the door. "Ikki I swea-" korra stops as tenzin opens the door. "Oh hey tenzin what do you need" she asked slightly embarrassed. "Uzumaki's replacement Saikan is giving his speech and you should be there" tenzin informs korra. "Sure lets go" she answered. "You're not getting boruto?, you two go everywhere together" he said. "Nah let's leave him to train wouldn't want to hinder him getting stronger" she answered. "Very well" they leave to the speech.

Speech

"It has been an honor serving under chief Uzumaki for so many years, it is with great humility that I take her place as the chief of police" saikan says. "I will also like to inform you all that I will report all findings to councilman tarrlok as he is the best fit to know the things we learn" saikan finished.

After the speech

"Tarrlok whatever you did to get saikan in your pocket I highly doubt it was legal" tenzin says as he walks up to tarrlok. "Ahhh tenzin paranoid as ever" tarrlok notices korra. "Avatar korra, now that your pro-bending is out of the way I hope you are ready to rejoin the task force" tarrlok says. "Oh please like I'd rejoin your vanity project, I'm the avatar I don't

need you-" shes cutoff. "Oh please, have you made any significant progress in airbending" he asked smugly. She shrinks at this question. "You're nothing but a half-baked avatar in training" he finishes harshly. And with that tarrlok left.

Back at the temple

Korra is approached by boruto after he found out what tarrlok said. "So you're going to sit here and let tarrlok prance around disrespecting your name" boruto says while frowning. "Leave me alone boruto you know what he said is true- ahhh" shes cut off as boruto to hits her in the head. "Knock it off boruto now is not the time" boruto shakes his head. "Well I gotta knock the stupidity out your noggin" he says. "Come on korra you're the avatar so what your airbending is coming along slow, it doesn't matter the world wasn't built in a day" boruto said in hopes of cheering her up. "Besides you have your own team avatar now" he says while drawing her attention to mako, bolin, and asami smiling at her. "Come on Ms. Avatar we got a city to protect" boruto says. "Thanks Boruto, let's go guys" korra said in a better mood.

After the naga fail, they simply just used a sato mobile that asami had. The radio lets them know of a crime thats going down in the middle of town. "Lets go guys" boruto announced. After finding the get away truck they get into a battle. Mako uses lightning to knock a chi blocker off a bike. Boruto then leaps using chakra and punches a chi blocker off a bike. Both mako and boruto go ahead. Mako uses his firebending to take out the remaining bikes. Boruto angles up with the truck. "Rasengan" he yells as he flips the truck with one blow. "Nice work guys" said bolin as he asami and korra stepped out the sato mobile. "Avatar korra" came the voice of tarrlok. "Oh hey tarrlok nice of you to show up, we got the bad guys" said korra smugly. "What you did is make a ruckus and tear up half the city" tarrlok notified her. "Yea well atleast we got the bad guys unlike your task force" boruto shot back. "You shouldn't even be out right now naive boy, this is the last warning stay out of my way" he directed this at korra.

The krew runs into a mob

"What's with the lights" asked bolin. "Wait a minute these people aren't armed or dangerous" asami said. "Yeah I wonder who's idea this was" boruto said sarcastically knowing it was clearly tarrlok. "All non-benders retreat to your homes" said a voice over a speaker. "Yea as soon as you put our power back on" said a man in the crowd. "Mommy look its the avatar" said a little girl pointing out korra. "Please help us, you're our avatar too" the woman pleaded. "Calm down everyone I'll settle this" korra declared. "Tarrlok you need to turn the power back on and leave these people alone" korra demanded. "Avatar korra you and your playmates have no business here leave now or you will regret it" tarrlok said dismissively. "No, we're not going any where until you turn their power back on, freedom is the right of all sentient beings" boruto said interjecting. "And what are you going to do, attack me a councilman" tarrlok asked confidently. "Don't tempt me" said korra darkly. "This is an equalist rally, they're all criminals" tarrlok stated. "They're not equalists they're just people who want their rights" asami stated now interjecting. "They are the enemy, round up all these equalists" tarrlok says as the officers move to lock up the innocent civilians. Boruto and korra stop some of the officers, this makes tarrlok angry. He then bends water to bind asami. "Hey" asami yelled out. "You are under arrest for being out past curfew and your father is a known equalist supporter" tarrlok states. Mako steps in to free asami which incriminates him. Bolin then steps in to help mako seeing as he doesn't want to see his brother locked up like that. "Arrest them all" tarrlok shouted. Korra raises boulders and boruto summons two clones. "No guys stop, we'll be fine don't make it any worse" korra reluctantly drops the boulders and boruto dispels the clones. "I'll ask tenzin to help get you guys out" without words korra and boruto go back to the air temple.

Airtemple

Korra is sneaking out to go talk to tarrlok. "Korra" said boruto surprising her. "Boruto don't try to stop me-" shes cutoff as he just hugs her. "Please come back safe Ms. Avatar, don't turn your back to him if he tries anything" boruto says while giving a thumbs up. "Thanks boruto I'll be sure to keep that in mind" and with that korra went to tarrloks office stone faced.

Tarrlok's office

"We need to talk" korra says while barging in. "Oh and do tell korra, about what" tarrlok questioned. "You're being a hypocrite you're doing exactly what amon thinks us bendsrs do, you're using your power to oppress people" she said. "And you don't do the sane thing" he questioned/stated. Korra is dumbfounded by this. "Isn't that what you came here to do as a matter of fact, you came here to bully me into releasing your friends" korra looks down knowing he's right. "If you fall in line and do what I say, I'll release your friends" he stated as he gives an ultimatum. "No, you need to be stopped you're just as bad as amon" korra said which struck a nerve in tarrlok. "Well then it seems you've made your choice" tarrlok says before he bends a water whip at her. Korra dodges it and bends the earth to make him unstabled. She then unleashes an onslaught of fire at him overwhelming him. However he was in a water bubble so he was protected. He then bends a lot of ice daggers to slow her down. Korra eventually counters abd knocks him over an edge leaving him seemingly defenseless without any means of waterbending. "Still think I'm a half-baked avatar" korra asked proudly. "What're you gonna do now your all out of water pal" she says as she rushes him with flames in her hand. She is about to finish him but something begins controlling her from the inside. "Gahhh" she screams as he uses bloodbending revealing his secret. "Y-you're a bloodbender, how it's not a full moon this is impossible" korra says while struggling to breathe. "You're in my way avatar, and you need to be removed" tarrlok says as he knocks her out. Tarrlok puts korra in a cage and then she is put in a truck. Korra begins having visions of aang and friends in peril. "Say good bye to Republic City avatar korra" tarrlok says while driving away with korra protesting.

At the airtemple

"Someone help please, anybody help me please, boruto, tenzin anybody" boruto jumps up after seeing a vision. Boruto grabs his gear and makes his way to tarrlok's office. "If something really is happening to korra it's up to me to find out" boruto leaves in search of his bestfriend.
