Glitchy challenged Whitney for her third badge. She chose Dunskan to take on Whitney's Clefairy and Miltank. Dunskan took down her Clefairy with Rollout then continued the attack to take out Miltank, seeing through her attempts to woo him. However, despite losing fair and square, Whitney had a temper tantrum and refused to give Glitchy her badge. Glitchy was about to leave to tell the League of her behaviour when one of the trainers stopped her. She told Glitchy Whitney always cries, or rather have a temper tantrum, whenever she loses but would calm down soon. Glitchy went back to speak to Whitney, someone who probably shouldn't be a gym leader if this was how they acting when they lost, had indeed calm down. Whitney gave Glitchy the Plain Badge, a rather bitter sweet victory when compared to her last two gym challenges. Whitney also gave her TM45, a move called Attract, a move Glitchy never wished to use as she saw it as cheep. Glitchy gladly left Whitney's gym and headed to the Flower Shop.

Glitchy presented the Plain Badge to the owner of the Flower Shop to receive the so-called dangerous watering can. The watering can was called a SquirtBottle which she was allowed to keep. Glitchy took the SquirtBottle to route 36 to find out what the strange tree was. If she were to guess she would say it was probably some lazy Pokémon trying to imitate Snorlax.

Glitchy arrived at Route 36 and, most importantly, to the strange tree. She used the 'dangerous' SquirtBottle on the strange tree and, unsurprisingly, it attacked her. A Sudowoodo attacked her and her team so she sent out Dunskan. Dunskan weakened the Sudowoodo while Miles paralysed her allowing Glitchy to capture her. She nicknamed the Sudowoodo Sudo. A woman who watched the battle gave Glitchy Berry Pots for entertaining her. Glitchy was unaware she was entertaining anyone but accepted the gift anyway. She also received some berries to put into the Berry Pots and directions to Ecruteak City.

Glitchy decided to take detour her travels to Ecruteak City by entered the Bug Catching contest with Tidus. They managed to capture a Pinsir. They lost to a Kakuna which baffled her when the rules were catch the strongest Bug Pokémon. Glitchy received a Shed Shell was participating and was allowed to keep the Pinsir whom she names Pines and put away in the PC box.

Glitchy arrived at Ecruteak City and entered the Pokémon Centre. There she bumped into Bill. Bill had also developed the Johto region PC system she used to safely store Pokémon she didn't need in her team. He started talking about a girl called Lanette from the Hoenn region who helped him. Bill headed back to Goldenrod City to see his folks. Glitchy also headed back to Goldenrod City, after healing her team, to visit Bill and his family. Bill gave Glitchy an Eevee that came over while he was working on the PC system for Johto. She named the Eevee Edgar, treated him to a haircut and gave him a Soothe Bell to hold. She then headed back to Ecruteak City with her new Pokémon.
