I ran out of the way of falling ice as the front entrance to the cave blew up, trapping us inside with a definitive gust of wind.

I woke up, freezing.

"Is everyone all right?" Hiccup asked.

"Define 'all right'." Fishlegs said as Meatlug flew off of him and the ice shards fell from around them.

"Why would Ryker seal himself off from the key?" Snotlout asked.

"He wasn't sealing himself out. He was sealing us in." Astrid said.

"Astrid's right. Ryker figures we'll fight the Snowwraith for him and then he'll deal with whoever survives." Hiccup said. "The plan hasn't changed gang. Let's get the Snowwraith and get it out of here, away from Ryker. Everyone took off down the tunnel, flying deeper into the cave.

"Guys? Guys?!" I yelled. "Great. I've gotta walk all the way through thecaveandfindthestupiddragontohidefromthestupidhuntersandtheirstupidfaces…" I mumbled as I started to walk down the tunnel. I caught up with the Dragon Riders at the Snowwraith den.

"Jackson, where'd you go?" Hiccup asked.

"Nevermind that, what's going on?" I asked.

"Well, there are three Snowwraiths." Fishlegs said.

"Oh, great." I said, looking over towards the sleeping dragons.

'Well, at least they're still asleep and they won't wake up-" Tuffnut began to say, but stopped after one of them started to wake up.

"You are the worst positive thinker ever." Ruffnut said, grabbing Tuffnut's face.

"Maybe if we don't move, it won't notice us." Tuff said, causing the dragon to hear and snarl in our direction.

"What do we do? Astrid asked. Hiccup though for a second.

"Maybe we can, put it back to sleep!" He said, running over to Tuff and yanking the arrow out of his helmet to use in his crossbow-shield. The arrow's tip broke off however, rendering it useless.

"Ok so that didn't work." Hiccup said as the Dragon charged us. His friends woke up. We stood our ground, trying to intimidate the dragons. The Snowwraith fired at everyone, then burrowed away. We took a defensive formation as the dragons started attacking from all angles.

"Cover your zone!" I yelled, turning into a Night fury. A Snowwraith appeared to the right of me, and Meatlug and Stormfly shot at it. Another appeared behind me, and was met by Barf and Belch's fire. A third one appeared above us. No one saw the incoming dragon above us.

"Look out!" I yelled, shifting into a thunderdrum and firing up, pushing the Snowwraith back into the cave ceiling. The cave began to shake as ice and snow fell all around us. The dragons burrowed out.

"Quickly, follow them!" I yelled. All the riders dove into the hole as ice filled it in behind us. The tunnel was a maze of caves, with no indication of where to go. Everyone split up. Fishlegs and Meatlug were turning into a tunnel when Stormfly whizzed by them, followed by Hookfang. They went out into the now clear tunnel, only to be hit by Barf and Belch.

"Two heads give us the right of way." Said Tuffnut.

Hiccup went into the upper tunnel, which led into another open cave, but a roar from Toothless told him this was a dead end. They turned around.

I went up the middle cave in the ceiling, which only looped back around to where everyone was gathered.

"Anything?" I said.

"Nothing." The riders agreed.

"Alright, new plan. Follow me!" I said, turning into a Whispering Death and tunneling straight out. We got to the top to see several nets and other hunter gear strewn about on the snow.

"Ryker knew about the burrowing the whole time. He used us to flush the Snowwraiths out. Then he captured them." Hiccup said.

"Looks like they're headed back along the South side of the glacier," Astrid said.

"They're not going to get there," Hiccup said. "Come on gang, we have to hurry."

"Give me a minute,'' I said, landing and shifting back into myself.

"What's wrong?" Hiccup asked.

"Just-it's just-a lot of snow...brain freeze." I said, holding my head.

"You can catch up?" I nodded as the Dragon Riders flew off.

They riders arrived to see the hunters pulling the Snowwraiths towards the docks. The snow started to subside.

"Great time for the snow to let up." Astrid said.

"Okay, we can't get too close." Fishlegs said. "We need to stay out of the range of their arrows." Hiccup spotted an ice sheet hanging above the hunters.

"Maybe we don't need to. Ruff, Tuff, see that ice sheet up there?" Hiccup said to the twins. "We need an avalanche!" He yelled back to them. They cheered then flew over the ice sheet, letting out gas then sparking it, causing the sheet to fall onto the hunters.

I quickly flew towards the South side of the island. I arrived to see Stormfly, Hookfang, and Barf/Belch carrying the Snowwraiths away. Hiccup was chasing Heather, Windshear, and Ryker.

"Oh no." I said, shifting into a Nightfury and diving towards Hiccup and Toothless. Toothless shot a plasma blast at windshear. I quickly shot one of my own, intercepting it and making a huge explosion that knocked me, Hiccup, and Toothless out of the sky. I crashed on the snow and shifted back into myself. Hiccup got back on Toothless and flew over towards me.

"What were you doing? What's wrong with you?" Hiccup said, clearly furious.

"Look, I can explain." I said, getting up and shaking the snow from my shoulders.

"Well?"

"Back at Dragon's Edge."

"Oh, yeah. Sure," he said, turning away. "This better be good." He took off.

"Great."

The flight home was a long one. I flew behind the riders as a Timberjack. When we got back, I tried to come up with a story to explain my actions, when Astrid stepped in.

"Look, he was just trying to protect Heather." She said.

"Why? I could've captured Ryker. I thought you of all people would want that, Jackson." Hiccup said. Astrid and I glanced at each other, I nodded to her.

"Heather's with us." She said, earning a chorus of 'what?'s and gasps from the riders. "Heather pretended to join Dagur to get close to him to avenge her family. When she found out about his alliance with the Dragon Hunters, she decided to get closer to him to find out more."

"But when Ryker captured us on his ship, you and Heather were fighting all the time." Ruff said.

"That's what we wanted people to think."

"Hiccup? Soooo..?" I said.

"We're supposed to be a team, Astrid," he said.

"I know. I should've told you. I wanted to. I really did." She said.

"But you didn't." Astrid looked down, then at me.

"I told her not to." I said. Hiccup looked at me. "I figured the less people who knew, the better. Plus, without her, the Dragon Hunters would have a key to the Dragon eye right now and the Snowwraiths would not be safely hidden on another island."

"That still doesn't explain why you wouldn't let me take her and Ryker down. We could have captured the head of the Dragon Hunters." Hiccup said. Astrid turned towards me.

I realized what information I had left out about my interaction with the Hunters on their ship.

"I forgot to tell you guys, Ryker isn't the head of the Dragon Hunters." Everyone looked at me.

"I met him on the ship before you guys arrived. He is a ruthless killer named Viggo Grimborn" I said. "He was the one who hit me with Blue Oleander. He was the one who Ryker is afraid of. He was the one who almost killed me."

"Well, I hope she knows what she's doing. For all our sakes."
