"There you are.."

Rin jerk up, coughing hard when the smoke from her cigar was trapped in her air pipe.

She was out in the clearing, not too far from the house to smoke and think to herself. When someone came and ruin her solace.

A hand patted her back and gently rubs her there to soothe her breathing. But instead of calming her, it only adds fuel to the irritation that he caused.

"Are you trying to kill me?"

She growled as she faces him.

Jim laughs, stuffing his hands-on into the pockets of his pants, he gives her an amused look.

"Why would I do that? Come on, chill a little will 'ya."

"Fuck off."

She sneered.

"Now, that's harsh. Where's the sweet, can't harm a fly, Satsuki Rin that I used to know...? It's as if I'm talking to Yueno instead.."

He scowls, but the corner of his lips twitch as if mocking her.

Rin with a shocked expression evident on her face dropped the stick of cigar she's having. For a moment, she can't find a word to say but look at the man in front of her.

"Why? Why do you have to speak her name? Why do you keep involving her to me, Jim?"

She asks with a pained look. Tears threatening to fall.

Jim fisted his hands and divert his eyes anywhere but her face. The hard look he has a little while ago was replaced with sorrow and longing.

Rin was taken aback as she watches him. She knew Jim for quite a long while now, but she never witnesses that side of it. Jim as she knows him is the bad boy kind of guy. He speaks and acts according to what he feels and never regrets it. While Collin is sweet, caring, and thoughtful. Always watching his words before he speaks them. But now...

"Jim.."

Trying to reach his hand, her body froze when she saw a hand that slides through his shoulder.

"What?!"

He barked. But her eyes are glued to what she's seeing. Her lips tremble when an image slowly appears behind Jim.

"Rin?!"

Impatient and being back to his old self, Jim snatch her arm and shook her.

"The fuck is wrong with you?"

He inquired as he saw her face drain out of color.

Blinking her eyes, she scrambles out of his hold and quickly went back to the house leaving Jim with a deeper frown on his forehead.

Catching her breath when she reaches the entrance, the rapid beating of her heart never ceases.

"I'm just imagining things, that's right. This paranormal bullshit that Ken started is just getting through me. Right? That's right."

She told to herself.

Her inner dialogue was cut short when Ken's car horns like there's no tomorrow while navigating it like a drag racer. When the car finally stops, she stood up straight and wonder what makes them in a rush.

The young priest exited the car and turns to the other side. Opening the passenger door for Oliver.

Stepping closer to see what's going on, the confusion just added when Oliver steps out with a girl he's carefully holding into his arms.

"Is that Ken? Did they come back now?"

Collin emerges from inside the house along with the others on his tail.

"Hey, who's that?"

Kakeru said.

"That's... Taniyama?"

Surprised, Lin muttered.

"M-Mai?!"

Pulling her hands to her mouth, Masako marvel what's going on.

"You know the girl?"

Rin questioned.

Even before Masako or Lin answered, Naru is already near them.

"I need warm water, anything that can help...she's freezing!"

Naru barked.

"What happened? Where did you see her?"

Lin takes Mai from him, and honestly, he's thankful for that. His arms are cold as well making his muscles left its senses to feel.

"We'll talk about that later."

"Is there a room with a fireplace? Or hot blankets?"

John asks the people around them.

"I'll go get a bucket of hot water."

Masako declared, immediately runs to where the kitchen is located.

"If Mai is here, probably the others are here as well."

John thoughtfully muttered while they are in the base.

"That's a possibility. But why is she in the woods..?"

Masako mumbles.

"Lin does Madoka contacted you yet?"

Naru asks.

"No, not yet. "

"Then, try reaching either Ayako or Monk. I'm certain that what Masako said is right. And from the looks of it, Mai must have gone for quite some time now. "

He explains while staring at the ring in his hand.

"Yeah, I'll do that."

Without wasting any more time, Lin fished out the cellphone in his pocket and dial Takigawa's number.

And not long after that call...Takigawa and the others arrived.

"If it isn't too much of a coincidence."

Takigawa huff's after removing his jacket and eyed Mai who's still sleeping at that time.

"How did you guys find her anyway? We've been looking for her for hours.."

The exhaustion on Ayako's face makes Masako smile sympathetically. They must have been really worried.

"It's Naru who found her in the woods, unconscious...and much more to that..."

John can't decide whether to inform them about the spirit that they saw with Mai.

"What? Did something happened?"

Ayako snaps her head to John. From the looks that she's been seeing as well as the serious yet stoic expression of Naru, she knew something happened.

"There's a spirit that hovers over Mai when I found her. It's a woman but barely recognizable. The face... "

Naru mumbles enough for everyone to hear.

"Faceless? "

Takigawa retorted.

"Yeah, something like that."

"I'm sure that's the same spirit that keeps on following Mai ever since we arrived here in Kyoto."

Yasuhara said making Naru look in his direction.

Their mini-reunion is interrupted when a knock was heard. Masako who gingerly walks towards the door opens it. Revealing Rin who immediately smiled at her. On her side is her fiancé Collin along with Jim who had a trolley of food.

"Hi, I Uhm.. We're not interrupting anything serious?"

Rin asks.

"Oh... I thought I'm just having a hallucination when I saw the infamous actress earlier. My, my... What a pleasant day to stumble upon you. I'm a fan by the way."

Takigawa who can't resist being himself..ogling tried to get closer to where Rin was, but stopped by Ayako yanking him back right before he even manages to make a few steps.

" Can you be a little more descent, you old geezer! "

" W-what-did you called me? A geezer? Me?"

"Who else do you think?"

"Cut it out,"

Naru barked. The two shut their mouth as soon as Naru glared at them.

"Well, I'm pleased to meet you... Uhh"

"It's Takigawa."

He happily replied.

"Then, Takigawa San, thank you. But are you guys, friends with Davis san?"

Rin diverted her eyes to Naru.

"Davis..san?"

Takigawa scratches his neck. The names still weird to him after all.

"They're companions."

Naru answered casually. Ayako, Yasu, and Takigawa look at him in surprise.

"They're part of my team here in Japan. I called them, but unfortunately, my assistant... Mai gets lost and somehow lost consciousness.."
